Since S. Easy Street is already going to be repaved, adding or incorporating speed tables would not cost the city much, if any, additional funds. Traffic on S. Easy St. has become an issue due to the amount of speeders who travel this road to get to SR 512 otherwise known as Sebastian Blvd./Fellsmere Rd. Vehicles increase their speed by as much as 40 mph over the speed limit.
A majority of the residents have children who are at risk of being injured or even killed by these drivers. It is imperative that we send a message to these drivers that they need to adhere to the posted speed limits in our neighborhood and slow down before an accident occurs.
We, the undersigned, call on the city council to incorporate speed tables on the soon to be paved S. Easy St. in an effort to save lives and slow down traffic.
