The constituency was supposed to have its constituency executive elections prior to the regional and national delegates conference. However the branch elections had some difficulties but we manage to sort out these difficulties well over two months now.
We have for this period waited patiently for the opportunity to exercise our democratic right of choosing our executives but that opportunity is not forthcoming. It is on this note that the branch executive deemed it necessary and important to write this petition to national executives as a matter of agency to fas track this process for us.
The absence of subtansive executives is weakening the strong foundation of the party in the constituency. Communication has broken down and for the past three months there has not been a meaningful meeting with activist.
The constituency is left in limbo and no program of action to maintain members entorsiasm let alone attracting new members. As a result no one is holding the assembly accountable to ensure that our manifesto promises and the president agenda of a better Ghana is adhere too.
Our patience has been overstretched and therefore we the branch executives are demanding the following actions:
1. Convene a meeting between national executives and constituency delegates.
2. A date should be fixed for the constituency elections.
3. Nominating forms should be made available to all aspiring candidates.
We expect this to happen shortly after the Easter holy days. We are calling on all persons concern to treat this petition as a serious issue that if not dealt with could bring a disastrous consequence to the party in the constituency.
