Stop group home located at 1718 North Federal Highway, Lake Worth, Florida

We, the undersigned residents of Lake Worth, Florida, call on the City of Lake Worth to deny the following application made by Vision-Quest International, and attest that we are in opposition to Vision-Quest International's request for the following:

1. Special Land Use pursuant to Sections 23.09.03.00 and 23.19.10.00 relating to Principal uses permitted as Special Land Uses (Conditional Use) in a PO/MF-20 district.

and

2. Variance from the following sections of the Lake Worth Zoning Code:
a. Section 23.09.04.03 relating to Minimum setbacks for nonresidential buildings in PO/MF-20 district.
b. Section 23.09.04.04 relating to Maximum impermeable surface for nonresidential uses in PO/MF-20 district.

Located in Palm Beach County, there are many other better suited locations. Surrounding the proposed location are residential homes in which the property value has already decreased in excess of 64%. As a result, we the residents of this area, feel that our property values will decrease further.

The proposed group home that Vision-Quest International, is a business and not concerned with the effect in which their business will impact the neighborhood in which they propose to operate and where we the residents have our homes.

We believe that Vision-Quest International should be required to find a more appropriate location, not in our residential neighborhood, and that an alternative scenario to house their business, in which they seek to make a financial gain, must be exhausted to make a more appropriate selection in a better suited area for their specific business use.

We, the residents, have property value concerns as well as concerns over potential increased crime in our area and/or potential destruction of our properties, which may likely be caused by Vision-Quest International's inhabitants. Vision-Quest International is in the business of making profit from troubled teens and adults with serious abuse, drug, alcohol, emotional, and mental issues, etc.. Therefore, these are considerations that we, the residents, as well as our City Government, must take into serious account before permitting this proposed business to negatively effect the City's residents, and specifically our neighborhood.
