The NSPCC Surrey is a highly effective team dedicated to working with children and young people and their families who have been affected by sexual abuse. The team is distinct within the NSPCC in providing young witness support to sexually abused children as well as therapeutic support.

In 2008 – 2009 the team provided services to 280 young people - 150 young witnesses and 130 therapeutic cases.

All team members are totally committed to the work and are dedicated to the continued improvement of their understanding of the needs of sexually abused children and their families. The team is viewed as expert in the field by all partner agencies within the county and provides consultation and training on all aspects of the subject.

The closure of this centre will be devastating for children and there families. Who is going to pick up the cases and help these families through the trauma?

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge COE of NSPCC Andrew Flanagan to act now and Stop the ASAP and Young Witness Project in Leatherhead being closed.

This service at Leatherhead is a vital resource that must continue to serve the children in Surrey. Please show your support and sign this petition to stop the closure.
