Ty-Sign has a lot of problems with teens, hanging around in groups at the local shops, parks etc.. They do stupid things to kill the boredom and often find themselves in trouble with the local police. They have had curfew's put on them and various teen's have Asbo's.. for the most petty crimes all because there is nothing to do in the area or no where to go...
Ty-sign does have the TLC shop but it is no where near suitable to run clubs and groups it cannot hold all the teen's and often some teen's get turned away by the people that run it, The police run weekly meetings in regards to the community and its always about the teen's and what are they going to do about it, i attended one of the PACT meetings and all they did was complain about the teen's in ty-sign blaming parenting skills etc, not one person suggested that its down to having no where to go or no groups to join etc
I am asking you to sign this for the following reasons:
WE AS A COMMUNITY NEED A COMMUNITY CENTRE
THE IDEAL LOCATION WOULD BE ON THE SPAR FIELD ITS CENTRAL TO THE WHOLE OF TY SIGN AND ITS BIG ENOUGH FOR A COMMUNITY CENTRE TO BE BUILT, THIS CAN THEN BE USED FOR VARIOUS GROUPS IN THE DAYTIME AND EVENINGS MOTHER & TODDLERS, SUPPORT GROUPS ETC AND MAINLY A YOUTH CLUB FOR OUR TEENS, IF YOU FEEL THAT TY-SIGN WOULD BENEFIT FROM A COMMUNITY CENTRE THEN SIGN THE PETITION.
