On June 30th, 1989, Judith Cassinger of Harris County, Texas, was tied up and brutally murdered in her own home by a Roy Martinez. After committing the murder, Martinez then took several items from the home, including the victim's car.
In the following months, the Harris County Sheriff's Department followed several leads and built a strong case against Martinez. One witness had even stated that not only did Martinez confess to killing a woman, but he even laughed about it.
On February 19th, 1990, Roy Martinez plead guilty to the murder and was sentenced.
Mr. Martinez (who has also had several prior convictions, including Negligent Homicide and DWI) is currently up for parole in 2009.
We the undersigned, as outraged citizens and in support of Judith Cassinger's family and friends, oppose to the release of Roy Martinez (Texas Inmate 02640185) from prison, now and forever.
