Petition Tag - woolworths
Woolworths launched a promotion in store aimed at Australian children. Unfortunately as reported in many Australian news sources they featured a swear word in the find-a-word activity, and coincidently not long after this was reported albums disappeared off shelves and consumers were told they had 'Sold out'. However according to this link they are available
I can assure you they are not. With literally THOUSANDS of disappointed little kids who missed out or have a folder with the F bomb in it & disappointed parents who spent a lot of time and money in helping their children's with their collections.
We think Woolworths should answer the customer demand and fix their mistake.
Australians use over 4 billion plastic shopping bags per year but yet only the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia and the Northern Territory have bans on them with fines for breaches of their laws.
A clear majority of people strongly supported the measures in these states. Campbell Newman recently scrapped plans to ban single-use shopping bags in Queensland citing cost of living reasons. The fact is that most people can afford to spend small change on reusable shopping bags when it can make such a big difference.
Single-use non-biodegradable plastic bags also cause injury to animals. Plastic bags look like jellyfish and as many as 30% of turtle deaths in Moreton Bay alone are attributed to them. One crocodile was reported to have 25 plastic bags in its stomach which prevented it from digesting its food and resulted in it dying from starvation.
Just remember that these bags are non-biodegradable when they enter landfill and take up to 1,000 years to breakdown. They are a short-term convenience with long-term impacts and a sign of our throw-away society.
For more information please read the report at:
Shopping Trolley are a issue in everyday life as they affect the environment and companies of the lost trolleys.
I roughly find around 200 trolleys within 2 weeks.
Trolleys should be fitted with locks on their wheels so they can't go beyond the shopping centre.
In 2009 the following petition was posted online and in local businesses, and got over 1000 signatures (Big W for Ulladulla Petition), it was submitted and the proposal was denied. In time Franklins Ulludulla suffered and has closed its doors.
Many unemployed and now a vacant building. The town has gained little from the Woolworths project.
I would now like Big W and Woolworths Ltd consider taking over the Franklins building and giving Ulludulla a go with a Big W, even if it is a scaled down version and be a Big W Country.
Media release 16th July 2012
The National Boycott and Rally in support of local food producers
From the 20th of July 2012 thousands of Australians will stand together and boycott “Coles and Woolworths” on the 21st, Awareness rallies will be held all over the country, to demand not only a fair go for our farmers and growers but just as importantly honest labelling to empower the people’s ability to also support “Australian made” across the board.
The duopoly of Coles/Woolies has become so powerful with some 80% of the grocery market, their thirst to increase their share is having an adverse affect on our struggling producers and in fact the price of our weekly shopping bills.
This action is not about trying to undermine big business; it is about securing our fresh food future, jobs for our children, ensuring the protection of the farm and to demand the accountability that should accompany any Australian business that has such a huge slice of the pie.
“100 billion dollars in profits removes any excuse they may think they have to undermine and ride rough shot over hard working local farmers and producers”.
Imported food does not meet the standards of our local produce and destroys jobs and our food security at all levels.
While our families on the land struggle to make ends meet on a meagre 5 cents in every dollar that is spent over the counter of these huge grocery outlets, it is simply un-Australian that they would dare demand these hard working families fund a pricing war between them, out of their inadequate 5 cents.
Making matters even worse, is the fact that dirty tactics have become part and parcel in some negotiations between producer and these grocery giants, which has resulted in the closure of so many farms and growers already.
Demanding a fair go to secure the future of fresh produce and the ability for consumers to make an informed choice at the checkout, should be supported by any Australian business, begging the big question, why isn’t it?
I highly suggest all Australians take the time to research for themselves this very import issue, and stand in support of our children’s future and a fair go.
The toxic ingredient (iodopropynyl butylcarbamate - IPBC) is found in many brands of baby wipes in Australia. It is known to cause skin irritation, is readily absorbed through the skin, and in animal testing was found to be acutely toxic when inhaled.
New Zealand cosmetic standards list IPBC as not to be used in preparations for children under 3 (except below certain levels in bath products, shower gels and shampoo) and the European Union has banned IPBC use in oral hygiene and lip care products.
Several leading supermarkets in New Zealand have removed baby wipes containing IPBC and yet it is still sold in Australia in products which come into direct contact with an infant's skin from birth.
Bub Hub Mums want the best for their children. This product should not be on the shelves.

Letter To the editor Milton Ulladulla Times, August 5th 2009
Why Woolworths? Is it sustainable or just going to be an empty building that looks good!
We have seen many letters about the proposed Woolworths development with most complaints about how it will look. What about the main thing- what will it bring to our town?
1. Will it attract people from other towns to Ulladulla? Bunnings used to bring people from Nowra and further north till they got a store. With the development of anew larger Bunnings store in Batemans Bay on the drawing board we stand to lose transient shoppers from as far as Eden who help our local economy out of tourist season.
2. Why do we need another food retailer? We have five food stores in our town already, Coles, Aldi, Franklins and the two IGAs. Why allow another one who will do more harm than good to the smaller stores. It will also affect our independent butchers and liquor outlets. (Do we actually need another liquor store).
3. We have a growing population of adults and children and only one small major clothing outlet. We would benefit greatly from another player in this market. As a town it would be more beneficial to have a Big W from the Woolworths group as this would employ a large number of people, bring a larger diversity of products and clothing for the population and also attract shoppers from Nowra in the north and Eden and make Ulladulla a hub for weekend shoppers from otherlocal communities.
This will in turn bring the shoppers we actually need to make most of the variety stores viable in the Woolworths complex and in the other surrounding districts of Ulladulla and Milton. Why isn't our council looking into the sustainability of this development and not just its aesthetic appeal?
10. SAVE AUSSIE JOBS
Coles and Woolworths must end their support for foreign owned and made which destroys Aussie jobs.
Foreign owned and made has invaded our supermarkets with products arriving from all over the world sending enormous profits and Australian jobs overseas.
100% Australian owned companies keep profits and jobs in Australia.
This petition has been set up for those who would like to show their support to a recent planning application made to West Oxfordshire District Council, for the change of use of the premises on the High St, Witney (Woolworths) from a retail unit to a restaurant.
For far too long Witney’s mainly inadequate catering facilities, cafes, pubs and take always have sold a ‘medium’ range of food at considerable prices. Maybe a new main competitor would help the current eateries in Witney to get their act together and offer a more reasonable deal for the consumers of Witney.
Hopefully approving this change of use will mean that Witney will have another venue that we ‘Witneyarians’ can use to socialize, do business and enjoy our wonderful town in.
The supermarkets lust for profits has killed Aussie companies and destroyed Aussie farming.
The supermarkets have no intention of supporting Aussie companies and farmers.Do you want to get sick eating foreign owned and made imported rubbish?
You are paying a high price for toxic inferior foreign owned and made.
IGA is an Australian owned grocery chain which is making an effort to support Australian companies with its Fightback for Australia campaign.
Coles, Woolworths and Aldi are not supporting 100% Australian owned companies which keep profits in Australia for Australians.
Coles, Woolworths and Aldi are not loyal to Australia with their foreign owned and made imports.
We have the right to support Australian companies in our own Country and not be forced into buying destructive foreign owned and made which destroys our economy.
We want IGA to go all 100% Aussie made and owned and we will shop with you for being loyal to local Aussie companies.
Coles and Woolworths do not want to support Australian companies.
THIS IS WHY.
Coles and Woolworths are using deceptive conduct against Australians by forcing 100% Aussie owned companies off the shelves which keep grocery prices low so they and all the foreign owned companies operating on their shelves can import dangerous products from overseas.
These overseas products are loaded with a huge markup to make the most money possible for their shareholders. The Australian product price is raised to keep the customer buying foreign which is cheaper for the supermarkets bottom line while at the same time destroying all Australian companies.
DO YOU NOTICE ITS THE FOREIGN OWNED COMPANIES USING FOREIGN PRODUCT IN THEIR INGREDIENTS WHICH FORCES AUSSIE COMPANIES TO DO THE SAME TO SURVIVE.THIS DESTROYS AUSTRALIAN FARMERS WITH SUICIDES AND CONTRIBUTES TO UNEMPLOYMENT FOR AUSTRALIANS.
The supermarkets and foreign owned multinational companies operating on the shelves DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT 100% AUSTRALIAN OWNED COMPANIES PRODUCTS ARE CHEAPER.IF THIS WAS FOUND OUT GROCERY PRICES WOULD REDUCE FOR THE PUBLIC AND THE PROFITS OF THE RETAILERS AND FOREIGN OWNED MULTINATIONALS OPERATING ON THE SHELVES WOULD FALL.YOU ARE BEING TRICKED INTO BELIEVING IMPORTS ARE CHEAP WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE 100% AUSTRALIAN OWNED PRODUCT.
GROCERY PRICES WILL CONTINUE TO BE HIGH BECAUSE OF FOREIGN OWNED MULTINATIONALS BUYING FOREIGN PRODUCTS AND KEEPING 100% AUSSIE OWNED COMPANIES OFF THE SHELVES WHICH WOULD REDUCE GROCERY PRICES.
WANT GROCERY PRICES TO FALL THEN SUPPORT 100% AUSTRALIAN OWNED COMPANIES WITH EVERY PRODUCT YOU BUY.
Do you notice the destruction caused by foreign owned companies who do not buy from Aussie farmers. They are responsible for the high grocery prices because they destroy 100% Aussie owned companies which keep grocery prices low because they buy local.
Every purchase of a 100% AUSTRALIAN OWNED product keeps money in AUSTRALIA for AUSTRALIANS.
Every purchase of a FOREIGN OWNED product destroys Aussie companies and jobs and sends the profits OVERSEAS to FOREIGN CORPORATE OWNERS.
WAKE UP AUSTRALIA YOU ARE BEING TRICKED BY FOREIGN OWNED CORPORATES AND THE SUPERMARKETS.
**It looks like we are now getting a Woolworths fuel station near Hungry Jacks in Pt Kennedy thanks for the signatures***
Sept 10, 2008
It has been confirmed to me via email, that the new fuel station currently under construction in Secret Harbour will not be a co-branded station.
It will be a stand alone Caltex business therefore will not accept shopping vouchers for discounted fuel.
The nearest Woolworths fuel outlet is at Warnbro, some 9 kms from Secret Harbour.
The supermarket shelves are dominated by foreign giants which jack up prices to make enormous profits.
Many multinational companies pay little or no tax at all in Australia. Australian companies are forced to pay 32 cents income tax creating an enormous tax disadvantage. This is why 85% of the products in the supermarket are foreign owned and made. This is why prices are so high. This creates huge problems for the tax paying Australian company competing against foreign competitors who pay little or no tax in Australia.
The Australian competitor discounts its price it then loses profits and goes broke and is bought out by a huge foreign competitor.Once all Australian competition is destroyed the price paid by the customer skyrockets.
Did you know that 85% of the products in the average Australian grocery trolley are made by foreign owned companies.
This results in 100 million a day going outside Australia. By comparison,in Japan, 98% of goods in supermarkets are owned by Japanese organisations. We need to turn this around and copy the Japanese comparison.Lets go even better than the Japanese lets aim for 100%.
