1. Comcast! We miss KBS World programs! Add MKtv!

As of November 1st, 2009 WMBC ended its broadcast of KBS World on digital channel 63.5. This service was free and only required a digital tuner connected to a television to be viewed within the metro NY/NJ area.

Two local cable companies-- Time Warner and Cablevision both offer a channel called MKtv which broadcasts many KBS World programs which are entertaining, educational, and family-friendly most of which offer english subtitles for non-Korean speakers.

A list of programs available on MK:
http://www.mediakoreatv.com/program/program_main.php?G_Language=Eng

The MK coverage area includes:
http://www.mediakoreatv.com/intro/mk_coverage_area.php?G_Language=Eng

Both of these providers are not offered in my town of residence. I am within the Comcast coverage area and I am sure that I am not the only one that want MKtv to be added to Comcast.

2. For Warner Home Video to use Lossless audio on Blu-ray Disc

On very few case did Warner properly use Lossless audio codec on their Blu-ray Disc - they didn't consider DTS-HD Master Audio until recently (Watchmen, USA).

The worst comes for european countries who don't have a single Lossless audio format on their discs when several languages are present for multiple countries discs.

Why use a Blu-ray disc if you just have the same Dolby Digital sound as on DVD ?

3. "Like a Prayer" Album Version, NOT Immaculate Remix

On July 27th 2009, it was officially announced that Madonna's definitive greatest hits collection "Celebration" was getting a September 28/29 release date. Us fan's were excited. Also on that date, it was announced the compilation was a 2-disc set, including a 2-disc DVD, and 2 new tracks, plus the beautiful, iconic CD cover was premiered, us fans pissed our selves.

In between that time and now, there has been sooo much excitement. There was even more when the tracklist was announced on August 15th through the very reliable MadonnaTribe fansite. At that time, everything was fine, us fans could not be any happier. But then two days later, it was revealed what versions of the songs would be used, and all hell broke loose.

To get to the point, the very beloved "Like a Prayer" was going to be using the dreadful "Immaculate Collection" remix. This is a big no no. The album/single version is iconic. This is the version that is played on radio, and the one that everyone has loved. The remix is missing the meaning and power that the album version has.

4. Stop WGM from ruining Youtube

Youtube, the website where anyone can post videos. Whether it be a music video or a web series. But all that changed when Youtube and Google teamed up. Now Google has some control over Youtube, that's not bad it made the ad renevue partner-ship thing. But Google brought in Warner Group Music, other wise known as WGM, and that's when everything went wrong.

Now WGM is deleting videos that contains music, some that belongs to their clients, alot that does not even remotely belong to one of their clients. Sometimes they delete the audio, not the video, but that's the same as deleting the video. This has to stop now before Youtube becomes a place where you can post videos, but with no music because WGM is a deleting machine.

This has to be signed by a lot of people. Your voice need to be heard sign this petition and we will be one step closer to have Youtube breaking its ties with WGM.

6. Remove Robert Swartz and Save Cartoon Network

In March 2008 Cartoon Network announced Robert Swartz as its new VP of original programming. Along with leading development and current teams, Swartz oversees development of all animated, live-action and alternative series for the network.

Being a longtime viewer of Cartoon Network for the past 15 years of my life, it disappoints me to say that this business endeavor has become a harsh and unnecessary decision with little success and has left fans of Cartoon Network with false hopes.

Since Mr. Swartz has been VP, Cartoon Network has lost several blocks (Toonami, Tickle U, Funny For Your Face, New Thursday Nights, Cartoon Cartoons), invested in poor-quality flash shorts (Nacho Bear, Mr. Bixby, Big Baby, Roller Squirrels, Calling Cat 22), and during a possibly profitable summer season in 2008 Swartz spent time plugging reruns of shows with less than 30 episodes each (George of the Jungle, Chowder, Flapjack, Total Drama Island, Johnny Test) in random order, lacking stability in channel’s structure.

This has sadly lead Cartoon Network to an unusual third place ranking in cable programming at the hands of Nickelodeon, Disney and their sister networks.

Since Swartz’s position, he has developed a passion for taking good ideas and turning them into desperately cheesy attempts to attract viewers. For example, at the beginning of August 2007, Fried Dynamite was developed to replace the long-running Fridays series. This was a big adjustment to many fans, but the block appeared to hold its own until it was donned the hot spot for recycled TV movies (Ace Ventura, The Mask, Operation Dumbo Drop, etc.). With all due respect to Mr. Swartz’s attempts, this has NOT been a good idea. Even if the spin-off Dynamite Action Squad has profited, lack of attention to Fried Dynamite (Including bad program choices) has led publicity to blocks created solely to provide cheap filler (Such as “Flicks” as they’ve been known by lately).

It would be insulting to say that Swartz hasn’t brought anything good to the network, because he has successfully picked up shows that were let go by Kid’s WB (Skunk Fu, Johnny Test), and has brought in some unique Cartoon Network originals such as Flapjack and Ben 10: Alien Force. But Mr. Swartz’s problem is he lacks credit to the cartoon genre. His previous credit before becoming VP for Cartoon Network was VP of original programming for the Sci-Fi network, for shows like Mythbusters and Destination: Truth.

Since taking place in Cartoon Network his ideas have fallen on deaf ears, now clawing to spin offs to popular movies (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and yet another action-based program (Secret Saturdays) created by Porch Light Entertainment.

7. Bring GameTap to Trinidad and Tobago and other countries

Finally, a gaming alternative has arrived on the Internet where anyone can find their favourite console and PCs games and play them on their computer and online. The only problem is: It's only available to users in the united States and Canada.

Does it ever occur to you that when you put GameTap on the Internet, everyone around the world using it will want to play? Where is your determination for bringing games to the masses and your foresight in this franchaise?

Not only should you bring it to other countries, but you should make a bulletin board detailing all the respective release dates and other vital information so we, the Internet community as a whole can play games just as much as the U.S.A. and Canada.

8. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince should NOT be released July 17th 2009

Warner Brother's announced today that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film would be released July 17th 2009.

Rather than November 21st 2008 release date as previously stated. The trailer was just recently released, and that too stated a November release.

But instead, the date has been changed. The argument being to 'reach a larger audience' and to 'make the movie more sucessful'.

But the most sucessful Harry Potter film is the first one - which was released in November.

So where is their argument?

It is obvious that Warner Brothers have no real care for the Harry Potter fanbase, and are worefully out of order.

9. Release of the Australia/New Zealand Linkin Park Tour

Since June 2007, every single Linkin Park live performance has been recorded and mixed by the bands engineers. Fan's have been able to buy these recordings which are uploaded online a few days after the show. These recordings have been a huge hit with the fans.

In October 2007, Linkin Park toured Australia and New Zealand. Eagerly fans rushed to the merchandise booth to buy the recordings, but were disappointed when they were unable to purchase them. We at LPLive.net now know that these shows were recorded, but it is believed there was issues with the distributors that prevented the release of these shows.

11. (Fans Urge) Warner Home Video To Create Milestone in Television Animation DVD Releases

When the Paramount company released for the first time to a new public Charles Schulz’s well-remembered and beloved “Peanuts” animations on DVD media, they were not able to explore the technology options that were available to them. These include music-only tracks (without dialogue) that could spotlight the imaginative work of composer and jazz pianist, Vince Guaraldi, a highly unique and valuable contributor to American culture, who helped shape this legacy for many generations of viewers and listeners here and abroad, and whose true artistic range traversing traditional jazz to rock and electronic styles from the 1960’s through 1970’s is not yet fully appreciated.

We also call attention to the fact that in the past Fantasy/Concord Music Group, who is the holder for Mr. Guaraldi’s “Peanuts” recordings, was unable to secure original master tapes that could make a satisfactory release of Mr. Guaraldi’s early animation music as a CD (even though an abridged release did eventually come about).

We know, that the search for master tapes for the "Peanuts" shows such as "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" is of high interest to everyone, and we are also of the belief that such materials may be located and secured for use in these new DVD's, if a wide initiative is made by Warner Home Video.

12. Fire Jack Warner Now

Recently Jack Warner the Vice President of FIFA issued a statement containing
as key points:

"If the World Cup were to go to Europe, I'm quite sure, with the English luck as
it is, they won't get it," Warner told BBC World Service.

"There are moves to give it to England. I must fight that."

"Nobody in Europe likes England. England invented the sport but has never
made any impact on world football."

This has already caused a massive uproar on the BBC's 606 messanger boards
and all over England. It is percieved as racist, wholley inappropriate and a
disgrace to FIFA.

In 2006 he was involved in a scandal which even FIFA admitted violated their
code of ethics and no action was taken except to impose a fine totalling the
profits he made from the scandal. He has still only payed a quarter of this fine
despite constant reminders from FIFA and still no action has come.

14. V For Vendetta Unreleased Score Release

April 14, 2006

E-Mail Reply from Film Composer Dario Marianelli, regarding the score to "V For Vendetta"!

"I have no idea how certain websites got the list of 17 tracks. That was my selection, before Astralwerks forced me to reduce them to 10.

As I was only allowed 10 of my tracks on the CD, I edited together several of the tracks. For example, "V Storms the TV Tower" is now part of the very long first cue, instead of being a separate cue.

I also was only allowed about 55' of score on the soundtrack, and something had to go. The People Stand Up had very similar material to the second half of "The Dominoes Fall" and so I left it out.

I would love for people to hear the rest of the score, but I believe I cannot just send people tracks without an agreement from WB, which I have the feeling would be hard to get.
I did propose to Astralwerks to put the excluded tracks on their website, but they were unsure about rights. If anyone feels like looking further into this, maybe we can make it happen, I don't know.

Unfortunately it's a logistical nightmare to get permission and the only way forward would be if a significant number of people, lobbied Warner Brothers/Astralwerks and even then there's no guarantee.

Best

Dario"

.....................................

This e-mail reply I received back form composer Dario Marianelli, is exactly WHY I am encouraging others, like myself, to sign this petition, in order to get these unreleased tracks, RELEASED ASAP!!!

Please sign this petition if you appreciate film scores as much as I do and if you loved the music from the movie or the film as well! Lets ALL show Warner Brothers & Astralwerks Records, that not only does Dario Marianelli, but also YOU and I ALL want the score released.

Tracks like, "The People Stand Up", towards the end of the film where all of London is dressed up like "V" and "Fingermen" where "Evey" is ruffled up by those men in the alley and then saved by "V" were the most sensational tracks I had ever heard, I hope you feel the same about them too.

I am hoping, by doing this petition, that we can get the labels to release the tracks that were NOT released on the cd. The following tracks were left off the cd:

2. Fingermen
7. Gordon's Secret
9. Evey Processed
14. How Freedom was Lost
17. The People Stand Up

I am doing my best to get these tracks released as the score was wonderful please help me in getting these unreleased tracks RELEASED, THANK YOU!!!

Thank You for reading this petition and Thank You Very Much, for signing it as well, Take Care, All!

- "Love is a woman" (1975)

25. Harry Potter theme park?

Well, I've been reading around the 'net for a while and have come across several times the idea for a "Harry Potter" theme park. Warner Bros. has already got the rights to it. But are they going to truly build it? I'd just like to know how many people would actually want this to happen, and some opinions, too. I came across a great site at this URL (www.angelfire.com/tx5/worldofmagic/intro.html) that gave all sorts of nice ideas and it thoroughly excited me :).

Leave warner bros. to decide where to put it...heck, they can have one in britain AND America if they want to! Just pick a convenient spot so people don't have to travel so far. ;) (Like in the midwest ;) hint hint) Feel free to state your opinion! Not that I'm official or nothin', just want to see how badly peoples would like a theme park...

26. Stop Media Violence

An epidemiological study was conducted by the American Medical Association to finalize whether the media is indeed responsible for societal violence. Research compared the happenings of surrounding nations with television, to that of nations without. All observed areas were both demographically and ethnically identical, having the television alone as a variable. The findings were astounding. Every examined region, in which media had been introduced, had a drastic upswing in the rate of violence with children. Within fifteen years the murder rate had doubled. The span of time can be explained simply in that it was the duration needed for the exposed three to five year olds to reach the 'prime crime age'. One example supporting these findings occurred in a small Canadian town in the year of 1973. At this time the town had just been introduced to media influence. Shortly after, there was an incredible 160 percent increase in aggression among the first and second graders of the area. Yet another example is the outstanding increase in the imprisonment rate, which has quadrupled since 1975, a year in which media violence had become more prevelant.

Presently, in the United States, there are about two million teens who have possession of a deadly weapon, approximately 135,000 carry them to school. Many believe this is due to overexposure to violence in the media. On average, media viewers encounter an act of serious violence such as: rape, kidnapping, murder, or assault once every four minutes. The problem we face is the possibility of when viewing these horrendous acts consistently, youth will be more inclined to mimic these actions publicly. One such example is the infamous movie, Natural Born Killers (a Warner Brother production) that has been found to be responsible for more than a dozen murder cases, such as the following. In the year of 1994, a fourteen-year-old boy, who was accused of decapitating his younger sister, claimed he only had wished to be like the Natural Born Killers. Yet another teen, who had become obsessed with the movie, shaved his head and wore tinted green granny glasses (like Mickey the main character) before murdering his stepmother and half-sister. The American Medical Association has concluded that since television was founded in the 1950's, the media has been a casual factor behind 10,000 homicides, 70,000 rapes, and 700,000 assaults annually. There is no excuse for this individually or nationally, and it must be brought to an end.

As Americans of this proud nation we cannot ignore these issues with a complacent attitude. Rather, we must make it a priority to renew national morality by petitioning the industry itself.
