1. Petition Against Floodlighting at St Aloysius School
Developers Balfour Beatty have applied for planning permission to erect eight 23 foot (eight metre) high floodlight columns on the sports and games areas at St Aloysius School in Hornsey Lane. The pitches are next to a woodland conservation area and the floodlights will be clearly visible to homes on all sides of the school. This contrary to policy.
The facilities can accommodate 3 football games, the users of a large sports hall and associated spectators. The planning application requests permission to use floodlights until 9pm weekdays and until 7pm weekends and Bank Holidays.
2. Mount Olive Dog Park Shelter Petition
The Mount Olive, NJ municipal dog park has been in existence for 2 years now, and we were promised a permanent shelter in the park to protect its users from the elements.
As no work has begun to install this permanent structure, the signatories of this petition would like to install their own seasonal, load bearing shelter as soon as possible, taking on all costs and its installation.
3. Inactive Members at Postcrossing.com
We, active users of postcrossing want the administrator to take action against users who have not logged in for a long time. It is very frustrating to get addresses of “users” who send one postcard and never register any postcard they receive. It is irresponsibility. When a person joins postcrossing, they should take responsibility of sending postcards and when they receive, to register them.
It is not fair for those who actively send, receive, and register, to get such addresses. They do not even activate the inactive button or ask the administrator to delete their account if they are not interested in postcrossing anymore. Though the admin had said that inactive users’ addresses do not go back to the pool but why do we keep getting such addresses?
4. Continue to Support all People and Care for the Mentally Ill
We have nothing to fear but fear itself, the words of President Roosevelt still outshine those of cowards and ignorant people such as the person or persons who penned the petition --
Stop Hermosa Beach from Becoming a Haven to the Homeless posted on March 06, 2009.
In the petition, the author(s) claims homeless people being drug users is a reason to enact laws to discriminate against the poor.
This is a comment from a person with no financial intelligence. The speculation that homeless people are drug users is mere fear motivated speculation.
Unlikely to be true since illegal drugs or legal drugs are produced by business minded people and organizations like pharmaceticul companies and so called drug lords. This interest in profit leads them to court customers of an income over $1200 every four months (my own income of late). The more likely consumers of these products are the homeowners in the community, and if people are to be removed from the community for being drug users, the city should survey all individuals for taking viagra, cialis, anti-depressants, cocaine, heroine, alcohol, and designer marijuana regardless of how much they spend on sandals, volleyballs, or homes.
Being homeless exposes you to the ignorance and inexperience of police forces and the most ignorant I have met were not in Hermosa, but Palo Alto, and Redondo, where I was threatened by a police officer until I allowed him to search my car. He said he did not believe in the 4th amendment. A pleasant thought, law enforcers who act according to their interpretations of the constitution. Keeping the low level of intelligence that most law enforcers have and the narrow life experience of the people that our country recruits, homeless people, often, the prey of choice for the ignorant, tend to avoid giving any excuse to police officers, also known as people with guns, to suspect them of any illegal behavior. This is an alternative response to terror than the Bush administrations.
These two reasons, a homeless persons exposure to gun toting police and their poverty, narrow the likelihood that any of them use half as many drugs as the homeowners in the community, and those that do are probably in need of time indoors for readjustment to that lifestyle, charity, kindness, and counseling.
So why did the author suggest this possibility? Either ignorance, fear or profit motive. I have never seen so many people so easily threatened by appearances. I have long hair and a beard and those two choices grant me power to silence most people on the sidewalks and streets of Hermosa Beach. I also have a sense of humor which gives me power to make those same people laugh and this is what I prefer.
Lastly, this is for the sake of the hermosa beach community, an ignorant public is easy to endanger with mind control. Don't except my opinions or those of the other person. Educate yourself, meet a homeless person, meet twenty. Inquire about their interests, passions, upbringing. Go home and think about who you know best in your life and how long it took you to know that person, then, go and meet the homeless person or hopefully by now you see her or him, young or old as a person with a name. Find a common interest and exploit it. Now you have a friend, and who needs greed when you have friends, right?
A person may be incurably psychotic and yet retain the dignity of a human being. Victor Frankl wrote this after his time as a detainee in a German concentration camp. It seems absurd to exclude the possibility for those not from Hermosa Beach or without six figure incomes.
Or if you prefer ABBA, take a chance on me. And travel outside your neighborhood, please!!!
The awful daring of a moment's surrender... no age of prudence can ever retract -- T.S. Eliot Be daring people of Hermosa Beach and remain kind (I met a lot of great people while I was there!).
5. Regulation for Social Networking on the Internet
Due to the growth of social networking websites on the Internet, such as Facebook and MySpace, the need for stricter regulation of bullying and harassment for users of these websites.
This petition is for those who do not want to pay for Xbox Live anymore , to those who a sick of paying $60 a year to get xbox live.
If Nintendo's Wii and Sony's ps3 can give free access why can't Microsoft's Xbox 360 do the same thing?
They dumped tons of money into an online framework that would allow for online gaming on another level, and have succeeded in offering a service that none of their competitors can even come close to matching.
It's time that WE xbox 360 users take a stand , we will be heard and we will win. So please brothers and sisters join me and other xbox 360 users in this petition Xbox live should be free!!
7. Opposition to Proposed Closure of Squash Courts at Small Heath Leisure Centre
Squash courts regularly used; no consultation with leisure centre users on closure.
Block bookings should be offered which would guarantee revenue to the leisure centre for these facilities.
8. Improve Chichester Skatepark
This is a petition to show interest in development and change for Chichester Skatepark for its current and future users.
The Chichester Skatepark is in drastic need of improvement to be able to cater for the sheer quantity and level of it's current users. Currently the skatepark is dated, seldom maintained, and poorly constructed.
In comparison to council funded skateparks in the local area and nationwide, the Chichester Skatepark is seriously in need of change.
Improvements to the skatepark will mean:
- Current and future park users will be able to reach a higher skill level and be more likely to progress further in the industry.
- The park will bring in revenue to the city's tourism trade as more people will want to travel to use it.
- More children/youths participating in fun sports which means a healthier population.
- Fewer people resorting to street riding which means fewer complaints to the council.
- A skatepark that Chichester can be proud of and that it's users enjoy!
We are aiming to work very closely with the council to change the park for the better.
To do this, we need your support.
Thank You
9. CIBC and Online Interac with Nexopia.com
CIBC is currently not affiliated with Nexopia.com concering online payments for "Nexopia Plus." Users that bank with CIBC have to resort to sending payments via "snail mail".
10. Stop The Closing Of MSN Chatrooms
Webtv users being told they can no longer use TalkCity for chatting and are moving to MSN chat services. Then MSN closes free chat experience but users are to pay for a service that would cost them $19.95 a year just to chat (MSN loses a lot of clientel).
Two years later MSN states that they are closing the chats down altogether, but only a few have seen this information, and if you do not look close enough on the chat home page you'd miss this information, (MSN was/is trying to hide this information).
Now MSN is breaking apart webtv'ers & MSN users that have made bonds, extended families and we want to BLOCK the closing of this action.
Here is our plea...
11. MYOB for Canada
Since 2001, Inuit Canada have stopped to upgraded MYOB. Since that day many users have been stuck with the last version (V2 5.5.6).
If you download the last version of MYOB on the US site, you'll see how many cool features we're missing.
Intuit have tried to convert all MAC users into PC users. But thing did not goes well for them. So they start to produced Quickbook, (Old version of MYOB without payroll support).
Let's work together and try to get our MYOB support/ upgrade back.
12. Philips DVP9000s
january 8, 2006
--------------------
The DVP9000s are superb machines (on paper) with great specifications.
Unfortunately, the reality is quite different and users are facing many problems / bugs which makes the use of the DVP9000s very frustrating.
Some problems faced by users:
- Skip of chapters
- Loss of sound
- Very slow
- Freezes when pressing some keys on the remote control
- Dark images are green,
- etc
P2P (peer-2-peer) users have been in a constant fight against the RIAA, MPAA, and even the FBI. Some people may say that P2P users should be punished for the breaking of copyright laws. Others say that data should be free for distribution. Millions of people in the past, the present, and hopefully the future will be using P2P.
The question comes down to do you think P2P users should be pursuited or not. US code Section 2319 of Title 18/Part I/Chapter 113 has given the government the ability to charge P2P users with a crime.
14. Make neopets have a better site and treat users better
For people who have been frozen unfairly, people who have closed their accounts or generaly anyone who wants to complain about neopets.
A long history, cannot be told explicitly:-)
We, the users of BB request our most respected and lovable Sri Sri Sri Sri Rahul Dubey ji to please relenquish his self-proclaimed vanvasa and come back to BB.
16. Unsatified with Rogers High Speed Internet
With the increasing number of Rogers High speed Internet users, Increase in pricing for their supposed High speed internet access, I find that their services are continuously unsatisfying and paying higher prices is unjust! We demand better and faster services, with FEWER limits! If not, lower the prices of our services.
They claim to be Canada's most advance high-speed network. Show they are one of Canada's Worse! Upgrade your servers! Better customer service! Less misleading ads!
Why do they not state there are no Download/Upload limits? To fool you into thinking there are none so you will sign up. But in reality there are limits that they don’t advertise!
**Please use your Rogers E-Mails, or legitimate emails over free emails services such as Hotmail because they will have less of an impact!
17. Wal-Mart: Rescind Debit Mastercard Policy!
As of February 1, 2004, Wal-Mart has become the first US retailer to separate credit card transactions from "check" card transactions. Wal-Mart will no longer accept Mastercard debit cards when used with a signature (like a credit card). The reason: Wal-Mart claims the costs are too high.
Although Wal-Mart says that only 1% of transactions involve these cards, that's still a ton of customers and revenue, especially when you're the world's largest retailer. By using a PIN number, debit Mastercard customers forego "zero-liability" protection for fradulent use (yes, it is possible to skim debit cards and record PIN numbers), lose any cash rewards offered for "credit" transactions, and may be charged a fee by their bank for a PIN transaction. If they don't want to use the card at the register, cardholders must use the store ATM and pay the fees imposed by the ATM owner and the customer's bank. In other words, Wal-Mart has indirectly passed the cost of the transaction on to the consumer (though they claim their prices will be lower thanks to their decision) and is pocketing the profit.
In fact, accepting not accepting debit Mastercard doesn't make business sense. Besides angering customers and losing sales, they are still accepting Visa's check card, which carries about the same processing fees as a Mastercard (it makes some wonder if Visa and Wal-Mart aren't collaborating to increase Visa's customer share--it is possible that Wal-Mart was paid to make this decision). Why accept one debit card and not another at the same rate, as is the case with most merchants (Mastercard and Visa are offered as a package deal)? Also, if customers use checks instead of a debit Mastercard, then Wal-Mart runs the risk of receiving a bad check, which costs money to collect.
Obviously, this policy hurts consumers and it also hurts the company, which the cost-cutting executives fail to see. Wal-Mart will learn that being first isn't necessary the best. Many online complaint letters are already circulating, showing that customers are reacting. Wal-Mart needs to drop this policy as soon as possible by trying harder to negotiate with Mastercard and by not playing favorites with Visa.
This petition is to clearly state that we want cheaper broadband & adsl plans in Australia, particularly unlimited plans. Australia has large and unfair 'limits' on broadband which most people cannot afford. We are behind in our pricing and development on broadband/adsl. The internet is fastly developing a larger need for adsl users, which most users simply cannot afford!
We need cheaper & more reliable adsl, and we do not need small shaped plans - We have a demand for unlimited. Making this cheaper will also earn Australian Computer Companies more revenue, and our currency higher, with our technology soaring higher. This pertition is to show a small percentage of people, out of the millions, that really do care about this issue.

19. America Online - Reinstate those who have lost bulk mailing list status
December 2005
This petition is now closed. Thanks to all who signed.
.......................................................
November 2003
Dear Mr. Miller:
We, the undersigned, hereby demand AOL reinstate those who have lost bulk mailing list status due to inconspicuous spam controls implanted on AOL 8.0 and 8.0 plus, without the users' knowledge, and further demand spam folders be located where they can readily be seen, and AOL immediately remove these bogus tos violations from our account records. Spam folders did not show up in our normal mail, it was not until one chose another method (such as AOL anywhere) of retrieving mail, that the spam folder was visible.
Most lists and members knew nothing of this, therefore we inadvertently reported each other as sending spam. (Aol was controlling what was and was not spam, without our knowledge, as it seems we've lost the right to view our own mail and make that decision for ourselves).
Many innocent people lost bulk mailing privileges for a 6 month period due to AOL's hasty decision, and we should not be penalized for AOL's mistakes. We have done nothing wrong and have followed tos rules. It is not a tos violation to send mail to those who have requested it be sent.
20. Stopping Internet users who pose as wwe superstars
I've recently heard that there has been a problem on the internet among wrestling fans. People posing as the stars they watch on tv and in person {when able}. I think this is a dangerous problem because there are young people who watch these shows and use the internet, who might fall victim to such impersonations.
MSN is planning on closing most non-moderated chat rooms on Oct. 14, 2003. They will be charging $19.95 a year after Oct. 16, 2003 to anyone who wants to use the chat service that is not already paying for MSN Internet or other services. The majority of the chat users are outraged and do not want the chats to close or to have to pay for chat service.
22. Neopet Accounts Against The 'Code'!
Neopets had just recently made it possible in ChatBoards to use a 'code' that lets users have a board, including their screename and their active pet's name. This was reat at first, but soon turned to horror as every other board had this 'code' and people were thinking they were being hacked.
23. Anti-WOAS
We are petitioning to stop WishOnAStar.net from ever again obtaining people's member lists (other than the list of WOAS forum users) and having individual WOAS updates from being sent out to anyone who DIDN'T REQUEST THEM.
Also, all persons who sign should pledge to never use the WOAS forum. Anyone who signs must send AntiWOASforum@yahoo.com their member lists. Just kidding!
24. Reform the Moderator situation at the E3 Forums!
To all of the Elder Scrolls 3 Forum users: It has become painfully clear that the moderator situation has grown out of control. Moderators with too much power are oppressing the forums users, and they are using their power to fulfill personal vendettas that they may have with certain users.
Supervision of these Moderators is almost non-existant, because only TWO Administrators actually lay claim to the responsibility of maintaining the forum and its moderators. As anyone can tell, there is too large a load for too few people to handle, and this is why ALL the users of the forums demand a reform of the Moderator staff and power.
We feel the new Moderator Structure should be as follows:
1.) Moderators do NOT have the power to BAN users from the forums.
2.) Specific individual Moderators shall be assigned a specific forum and is held responsible for actions in their forums.
3.) Only Administrators shall be permitted to BAN users, AFTER a hearing has taken place with the Moderators about the offending user.
4.) If a BAN is executed, the BANNING ADMINISTRATOR shall issue a detailed email to the BANNED user stating, in depth, the details of their offence, the reason for their ban, and where in the User Agreement they violated the terms they agreed to when they signed up.
To elaborate these reform options:
1.) Too many chiefs and not enough braves is the sentiment there. If every moderator is allowed to ban any user at whim, a vulgar display of power is inevitable, such as the current state of the forums!
2.) If you read the forum information, you'll notice a huge moderator/administrator mix is responsible for ALL the forums. This is too much work, and more than HALF those listed Moderators/Administrators are actively involved in Moderating the forums. If you assign two or three Moderators to a forum, its much easier for them to keep it under control, and you have no overlapping and hasty desicions made.
3.) This is a given. If every policeman was allowed to carry out Judge, Jury, and Executioner with every person he arrested, you would have many many dead people. Simply because the wrong people have all the power. Responsible Administrators should be responsible for making banning decisions, based on a general Moderator consensus that deals with the problem causing user, the number of offences they made, and where exactly in the user agreement they are violating. Only after this is accomplished can a ban be executed with 100% flawlessness and justice.
4.) Banned users have a RIGHT to know WHY they were BANNED. A simple vague reason provided by the forums with a equally vague error message is NOT good enough! Banned users need to know what they did wrong, where they violated their user agreement, and what their being banned for. This way, there is no way a user can have any grounds to cause more trouble or question the decisions made against them.
This petition is to establish order on a ramshackle slip-shod poorly managed forum, whose users are FED UP with being miss-treated by the power-abusing Moderators, and the unprofessional methods of their actions.
The forum users want JUSTICE!
25. RC5-72 users want SSE2 optimisation!!!
Intel users don't want to be slowed up any longer! We want SSE2 optimisation in the distributed.net clients!
26. Op Crowley in #Anime on DALnet
This petition is to benefit the future of #Anime and all its future, as well as current users. The fact is, #Anime has too few ops, and a majority of the time the ops who are on Idle and neglet the channel. This is usually during the very late hours, when I am on, and when spammers are rampant.
This has been going on for a very long time, and it is my goal to put a stop to it. If I am opped in #Anime, I will stop at nothing to rid the channel of Spammers, idiots, flammers, and all other annoying users from constipating the natural splendor of #Anime.
I will strive for perfection in creating a tolerable atmosphere for ALL users and walks of IRC life. Whether you're a new commer to #Anime, or a long time user who is just as sick of idling, and under-assisted Ops as I am, presenting me, Crowley, with an AOp in #Anime will benefit you and the channel greatly.
27. Stop Neopets Abuse of Freedom of Religion!
If you've heard of neopets.com or seen its commercials in "Lunchables" or on other TV commercials, you know about the greatest virtual pet site on the internet. Well, this site is as great as it seems.
Neopets is a well-patrolled kid's website that makes sure no profanity is exposed on the site, but they are prejudiced against the Christian religion and all related Christian things including Christian guilds (kind of like clubs), Christian users, Christian shops, and many Christian banners in the shops, but allow Wiccan, Muslim, and other religious things on the site. Even if you are not Christian, you know that it is wrong for neopets to not allow us to express our beliefs. In the United States it is the law that we are allowed to express are beliefs on the internet and anywhere else. neopets is a bad example for kids, teaching them to be mean to other people for their religion, color, or any other thing about a person. That's what started the Holocaust! Hitler was taught to hate! WE CAN'T ALLOW THIS!!! STOP NEOPETS ABUSE!!!
28. MSN and Webtv Users Demand Access to Talk City
This is being Sent to MSN to let them know that we Webbies are MAD about their latest attempt to save money by cutting us off from Talk City because they were too CHEAP to pay a higher rate!
Sometime in May when Talk City raised their rates to use their services, MSN said "NO" to the higher rate therefore cutting the Webtv Users off from using Talk City as our chat line. Some of us Webbies have been chatting in Talk City since we first came online. This petition is being sent to MSN to let them know "WE ARE MAD!! They cut their expenses, but ours stayed the same each month. We are the Customer WE should be the ones saving money, not them. And Talk City came up with a brilliant idea: Lets charge the webbies $12.00 a year for them to use our website, since MSN refused to pay the increase. Some of you have paid it, but if you are like me, you already pay enough for your ISP Service, and can't afford to pay more.We have a right to appeal and we are!!! Some of us made friends in Talk City, and we even had our own little family, and now they want to cut us off from that?? Don't let MSN run us. PC users need to sign this too, in support for us Webbies. Thank You
29. Stamp out the Corporate Greed of Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Cable is one of the nations largest high-speed bandwidth ISP's. For years and years they have offered broadband connections that many of us use on a daily basis. They have recently announced that they are planning on raising rates for heavy bandwidth users who will pay an additional monthly fee. This means a monthly bandwdith limit which end users are not able to monitor. We are supposed to put our trust into TWC to charge us what they feel is fair.
This is pretty much equal to 'Big Monopolistic Corporations make another money squeeze. No real competition allowed.'
Another show of greed.... Time Warner is not loosing money. They are diverse in many areas of telecommunications, TV, etc.... This is no different than lets say.... hmmm... Record labels creating anti copy-protection that denies a consumer from making "legal copies" for themselves in order to suck more money from our pockets. Yes, there is a thing called inflation.... Yes, companies need to raise prices to equal the overhead... But in this case and many others, they are just plain old greedy. Time Warner and other ISP's lure their customers with fixed rates and then they hijack them by raising prices knowing we will pay because there are few options. It's the ol' way of fisting the public for more and more money.
There is only one way to deal with greedy companies... What's the magic word you may ask? BOYCOTT!!!! It has worked before. If companies think they will loose a majority of their customer base, they will back away from "bad" pricing, marketing, and other business strategies.
Here is what I suggest:
1: spread the word that RR (Road Runner) will hike their prices. Make sure to clarify that it is not because of "illegal" activities, hell I can suck up bandwidth just playing online games. Point out that it can effect everyone, the day trader, the gamer, the average user, EVERYONE.....
Second: Encourage people to flood Time Warner with e-mail, phone calls, and other means expressing that such price hikes are simply unacceptable. This will only work if they receive complaints on a mass scale.
Third: If Time Warner continues with their future business model, then we all need to boycott them. This too must happen on a mass scale. Its up to "US" the users to put an end to ISP price gouging. If you don't, then you are only bitching sideways (someone who complains but never takes action).
Now, if that it is the case, (people only bitching sideways) Time Warner will continue to make everyone bend over and you can bet others will follow soon. So, lets all make a pact to declare WAR on AOL, Time Warner, and other ISP's who feel that sucking the consumer for every last penny is good business.
30. Bring back www.stargatesg-1.com for non-US users
We have decided to form this petition after Showtime restricted access to the website, www.stargatesg-1.com, so now only users in the US can access it.
We feel that this is unfair and is neglecting the large numbers of Stargate fans around the world.
We feel that this was one of the best websites on the net for Stargate SG-1, incorporating information and interaction.
Many people have spent a long time working their way up the ranks within the website, only to be now disappointed with the discovery that only US users can access it.
