1. Tests For Persian Gulf Illness Veterans

Do you care about veterans and would like to help many in some small way?

Signing this petition is that WAY you can do just that!
New tests PROVE injury to Persian Gulf Illness Veterans.

A brain scan reported Sep 15 2011 to show brain injury in PGI Vets. A SKY blood test shows chromosome damage in PGI Vets. Yet the CDC which VA follows, has now limited how many symptoms PGI Vets are actually related to PG Illness.

You can go to the website link and see many articles or videos about this subject. Please do! You can show some support and encouragement for PGI Vets that visit that page also! Please do! It is visited by PGI Vets globally.

So with the new tests available, PGI Vets can have their injury rated for compensation and move for treatment research for such injury. Any money now given for research to PGI is only going to be on what symptoms are being recognized as related to PGI.

This is why PGI Vets should have the new tests done. Please sign this petition and share with others to tell the legislature to pass a law for PGI Vets to be tested with the new tests. Thank you for your support! PLEASE share this petition with others!

3. Mandatory Death Penalty on any severe violent crime

I believe that to more effectively prevent violent crimes in the United States there should be a mandatory death penalty on any severe violent crime, such as murder, rape, child molestation, attempted murder and armed robbery.

I believe that this would not only solve our overcrowded jails, but also severely deter violent crime.

5. Petition to Cease Funding Pakistan's "Counterterrorism" Effort

The United States has continued to funnel billions of dollars to the Pakistani armed forces in sophisticated weapons and cash – most recently a $3.4 billion package announced in October 2010 under the State Department’s Foreign Military Finance Program, and another $3 billion is scheduled to go to Pakistan this year.

Bin Laden's discovery in a wealthy suburb of Abbottabad raises more than a few questions over US military funding to Pakistan.

After years of former Pakistani military dictator General Musharraf assuring the world that bin Laden was either dead or in Afghanistan, he was found and dispatched by US special forces in the town of Abbottabad, a mere 30 miles – 50km – as the crow flies from the capital Islamabad.

By 2008, the United States political and military leadership had lost all remnants of faith in the trustworthiness of the Pakistani military and its intelligence wing, the ISI, internally acknowledging that it consistently "hunted with the hounds and ran with the hares", including the Afghan Taliban, the Haqqanis, and the Lashkar-e-Taiba – and was involved in planning terrorist attacks from Kabul to Mumbai.

6. Use domestic resources; Drill our own US Oil

Currently gas prices are on a rising continuum. During this economical hardship, consumers are struggling to pay for the gas that gets them to their job. A lot of those same consumers are living paycheck to paycheck and barely able to pay their basic living expenses.

With the extreme rise in gas prices, living expenses that are already a struggle to maintain, are becoming almost impossible. The United States has enough of our own resources for oil that if we were to start drilling, would last our country CENTURIES! The use of our own resources would help the economy and help the people in OUR country.

Our president just loaned Brazil 2 Billion dollars for an underwater drilling project in their country. That 2 Billion could have been reserved by using our resources; this is why our government spending is so insanely high- we are paying millions of dollars to foreign countries when we could save millions by using our own products; in turn the consumers will save!

9. Raise Federal Minimum Wage in the United States

In the United States, the average minimum wage (remember, there are different minimum wages for every state) is $7.45 per hour. That means that an average worker earning minimum wage would earn $15,496 per year.

In my opinion, that is a tiny amount for their use because they would have to spend alot on regular expenses like food and bills. Minimum wages need to be raised and you can help raise them now by signing this petition.

11. Investigate USA-Pakistan Relations

For ten years now there have been acts of war being waged on the citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan. These acts are being carried out by the their own military and also the military of the United States. Their own government along with the United States and other UN allies are agreeing to continue military operations. Operations which are violating the liberties of those native people living in what has been deemed a war zone.

Now it's time they rethink their strategies. Human rights, liberty and justice need to be upheld. The conditions are becoming exceedingly desperate for these people. The area is destabilizing more and more the longer we wait. This will continue to put the youth at further risk and those who are vulnerable will become exploited or radicalized. Even though both governments claim they are doing what they can to combat this, little has been seen in the way of progress.

21. Impose Fines For Filing Frivolous Lawsuits

It has come to the point in this country that, every time you turn around, you here somone say "I'm going to sue" or "You can probably sue them for that" or some other similar comment. We have become a society where people "look" for anything that they caould sue someone for, and probably win.

Sueing because you spilled your coffee, or because you can smell someones cigarette, or because the neighbors kid bothers you when they play basketball in the driveway. These are absolutely ridiculous reasons for anyone to be able to sue in court. These types of lawsuits are making a mockery of our judicial system, and quite often, are awarding people for their own negligence.

It is time to make people grow up and take responsibility for their own actions rather than imposing that responsibility on others.

22. Impose Maximum Award Limits To Lawsuits

Lawsuit awards have gotten entirely out of control. To award anyone an amount that is several times more than their earning potential in a lifetime has become very costly to the American public. Awarding 3 million dollars fro spilled coffee, 300 million because someone chose to smoke, and various other unrealistic awards, cost all of us money. How many more hamburgers would McDonald's have to sell to make up for 3 million dollars? Can they make it up by selling more hamburgers, or would they have more success by raising the price? An insurance company gets ordered to pay 200 million dollars.

Who pays for that 200 million? WE DO! Rates go up, we pay more per month, include that amount in 10 other companies raising prices to cover losses and our paychecks now go only half as far as they did last month. It amazes me how many people think, "they have insurance, it won't hurt them." The actual truth is, YES it does hurt. It hurts us, the consumer, with higher prices that we must pay so that the insurance company can afford to pay these awards.

25. We the Common People Demand to be Heard!

On November 4, 2008, we the American people elected Barack Obama as president based on his campaign theme of “Change We Can Believe In.” His campaign was targeted at common people who wanted a real voice in the governing of our nation, which was supported by the national media via outlets such as CNN’s “Impact Your World” among others.

However, more than eight months since President Obama’s inauguration, many of us have still not had an opportunity to be heard despite our numerous attempts. We have used outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and have contacted the media in efforts to make our voices heard and to make a difference in our lives and our nation. Yet the media has been selective in who is heard and who is not: their unwritten policy is that if you are not rich or famous, you have no right to be heard, to make a difference, or to exist.

When someone who is rich and famous, such as a politician, a celebrity, or a corporate executive, has something to say, that person is heard immediately by a wide audience. When we have something to say, we are ignored because we do not have the looks, social status, or connections to be heard.

We have been demoralized by the media’s conscious efforts to suppress our voices and to provide us with hypocritical means for us to make our voices heard, when in fact the media has no desire to enact real change other than blindly supporting the agenda of President Obama.

Current events don’t affect only the rich and famous. Current events affect us. Yet the media continues to promote elitist opinions while ignoring what we have to say. We suffer as the Silenced Majority while the rich and famous elite are given untrammelled influence and power to maintain their status while we are bound in anonymity.

Enough is enough. It’s time for action. I am appealing to you, my fellow Americans, to support me in this cause. I ask that everyone, regardless of political affiliation, join me in making ourselves heard. Tell one, tell all, about this petition, and make the media aware that we will not accept the status quo any longer.

Please sign this petition. The stakes are too high for us to remain silent.

27. Marijuana reform and legalization

Legalization ( End Prohibition ) and Reform ( Current Laws ), of the current laws and policies which govern the use of Marijuana in the United States, it is time to seriously look into abolishing Prohibition of Marijuana, and change the laws accordingly to this issue.

Each and every year medical science has stated that the use of marijuana is safer than alcohol, and should not be listed as a narcotic, is not as addictive as once was thought, and has far more uses in the medical arena in the treatment for patients either terminal,or chronic, and safer as a alcohol alternative. With current standing laws more than 800000, people this year have been arrested, and many either white collar or blue collar workers, taxpayers and voters such as yourselves their lives destroyed, jobs lost.

Laws like these are not a deterrent, with more than 100 million plus users of marijuana and growing each year there has to be Open mindedness, and change. More money 10 billion yearly, and more over a trillion since President Nixion was in office for the war on drugs, this money which could've been better spent on programs for schools, parks, the poor, etc. the time is now to tell our representatives that it is enough, it is a time for change.

29. Lowering the Drinking age to 18

The current United States legal drinking age is 21. Many United States citizens disagree with this age. Many believe that the age to legally be able to purchase, consume or possess alcohol should be 18.

A United States Citizen is allowed to vote when they are 18 years of age. 18 year old males are forced to join the Selective Service, for possible drafting. This means that 18-year old males can go to war. At age 18, a citizen is also inclined to jury duty. So, an 18-year old is given the responsibilities of voting, being selected for jury duty, and possibly being drafted for war.

If an 18-year old citizen is to be given these responsibilities, why is the legal drinking age 21? Does the U.S. Government not trust those of us under 21? They trust us with their votes, yet they cannot treat us like full adults for another 3 years!

30. Grant Nobel Peace Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Political Asylum in the US

Daw (Mrs.) Aung San Suu Kyi is the greatest threat to Myanmar’s junta, the ruling military dictatorship. After her landslide victory in the 1990 elections, the junta has unjustly detained her by house arrest for the past 14 of the last 20 years permitting her no contact with the outside world except for her doctor, considering her political prowess a viable threat to their power.

Her moral leadership of the peaceful democracy movement and previous political victories point to the fact that she has the capacity to win in the elections next year, providing a perfect alibi for the junta to trump up unfair charges against her so she can be locked up in prison for the next five years, hence ineligible to compete.

On May 14, 2009, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested and sent to jail, charged with violating the terms of her house arrest by harboring an American man who swam secretly to her lakeside home to warn her of a dream he had in which she would be assassinated. She provided him with food and shelter for two days, doing what any reasonable person would do in the same or similar circumstances. Suu Kyi argues that the charge is invalid since it is based on a 1974 constitution that was abolished in 1988.

At age 65 and in deteriorating medical health, Suu Kyi is currently being held at the notorious Insein prison known for its harsh interrogations, deprivation of basic necessities such as food and water, and torture http://www.khrg.org/khrg93/93_12_05.html
