91. 16th avenue temporary closure between 224 th street and 232nd street
The temporary road closure for construction on 16th Ave between 224th and 232nd starting September 25th 2006 for two weeks. Traffic will be detoured using 8th Ave and 24th Ave.
We the residents believe it will be extremely dangerous and cause great distress to the many residents with children, pets and horses, particularly along 8th Ave as this is a quiet country road.
There is an abundance of wild life such as a family of deer that live locally along 8th Ave. We are also concerned about the security of our property as we will become much more exposed to travelers along our roads.
92. New traffic light for road extending to 212 freeway
June 19, 2006
There are 3 cities meeting within 2 miles on one road. County Road 17. They are Excelsior, Shorewood and Chanhassen.
This road will be extending for several miles to become a connecting road to a new Highway 212. The Speed limits on this road are simply illogical. Toward the south side of the road where the road has a median and turning lanes it is 45 miles per hour. To the North side it rapidly changes from 50 mph down to 45 mph down to 30 mph entering another highway called Highway 7.
Where Excelsior is there are many homes that are close together and has driveways to what was for many years a low traffic road. Now that this highway is coming in the travelers are driving on it like it is a highway even though it is at Lake Lucy Road and Carver Beach Road only two lanes with poor visual sightways for people seeing it from the cross streets.
They are easily in a blind spot unless they drive over a crosswalk area for walkers and bicyclists to also use so they end up partially into the intersection in order to see easily cars on the main road. I avoided a 5 car collision by about about one foot of out car. Experience with this intersection I am afraid to even cross it when the coast is clear as some car might come bounding down it at 70 miles per hour.
There are several residential streets and driveways in that area like in Excelsior though fewer. The County upgraded a Police Officer to a more expensive car to give tickets. But I see the need is greater for putting a traffic light at either Lake Lucy Road or Carver Beach Road to allow for safe entrance and exit out of the road for drivers including many who have children they need to take back and forth to school.
93. Stop the Balbharati - Paud phata bypass road
Pune is the most dangerously polluted city as per findings of a study by TERI considering its Air Quality Index.
The politicians of Pune are asking for a new road that is not part of the Development Plan of the city that will cut across virgin, silent green zone behind the Law College; cutting THOUSANDS of trees of a planted forest, nurtured by citizens and the ILS Law College over many years.
Road widening of the existing road using Law College's property will solve the problem of congestion to a considerable extent upto Prabhat Road. From Prabhat Road to Athavale Chowk there is a parallel road over an erstwhile canal that will take care of the rest of the way.
The congestion on Law College road is as much as on all major roads in the city. It has been compounded by permissions to commercial establishments and coffee shops that increase parking of vehicles with reduction in the carriage width of the road.
The proposed bypass will bring automobile pollution, noise and congestion into the heart of a green area at the foot and lower ridge of the Vetal hill. This is a catastrophic proposal and will destroy one of the last virgin green areas left in Pune.(see www.rescuepune.blogspot.com and also see http://www.gopetition.com/online/8517.html).
We seek the support of all well wishers of Pune and Pune's residents to stop this project and ask the Municipal Corporation to take the option of road widening or making the street a one way road.
Unless the city's population increase due to migrations is controlled and unless an effective mass transport bus system using dedicated lanes is developed, no new roads will ever be able to solve Pune's problems. This proposed road will however forever damage Pune's already deranged eco-system and disturb the flora and fauna inhabiting this area.
While you sign the petition, do not omit to PHONE YOUR CORPORATOR at the numbers given on this web page (url BELOW) of the Pune Municipal Corporation. Please call at a decent hour and TELL HIM that you will only vote for the persons who oppose this road.

Cut and paste this URL in your browsers address panel and find the address and phone numbers of your corporators.
Note the lush green area in the GOOGLE PICTURE to the West of the Law College ground. THE ROAD WILL PASS DIRECTLY THROUGH THIS PATCH.
94. Saving lives - traffic light for Rose Bowl Lane in Dover
March 14, 2006
I'am asking people to sign this petition so that I can get a traffic light or cation light put up where I lived.
I feel like if there was one before maybe my brother and other's would not have been killed on Rose Bowl Lane in Dover, Delaware.
So please help me so other's don't have to die, thanks.
95. Help introduce a new charge of 'Driving Without Due Care Causing Death'
January 17, 2006
Lee (pictured), was killed instantly from multiple injuries when a driver failed to give way at traffic lights colliding with him head on. Lee was riding through a green light on his motorbike. The driver exercised his full rights, declined a police interview and was not asked to submit to a blood test. Lee, his victim, had no rights, infact his name was not even mentioned in the charge.
We are calling for an urgent overhaul of the motoring offences system, with tougher sentences and higher fines.
The current law of driving 'without due care' is a very good reflection of how unimportant road traffic death is considered. At present drivers are charged more often with careless driving, over dangerous driving, as it is easier to obtain a conviction.
'Scandalous'
The current penalties incurred by drivers involved in a major crash which is a clear-cut case of negligence do not reflect the enormity of the offence.
We want the victim to be the central issue of the charge. The current system fails to acknowledge the senseless loss of life or the trauma suffered by the victim's families. When making the decision to sign this petition please put yourself in the position of the victim's family. What would you consider justice?
96. No to a Wal-Mart in Tottenville
November 17, 2005
The purpose of petition is prevent the building of a Wal-Mart on the South Shore of Staten Island. The proposed development would greatly increase traffic in an area that is already reeling from congestion.
This Wal-Mart would also lower emergency response times, increase crime and decrease the overall quality of life in a number of surrounding residential communities.
97. NO traffic signal at Rancho Viejo Rd and Highland
Why fix something that's not broken, especially if there's a better chance the fix will worsen the situation? We don't need big city lights congesting our already perfectly smooth operating intersection in a rural part of town. Currently, there is no significant problem exiting or entering Highland. Reasonable careful driving, coupled with common sense, make this an easy intersection. We would like to keep it that way. Moreover, we are very concerned that a traffic signal will create problems.
Vehicles held up at traffic signals add additional noise and result in more pollution to homes that are already highly affected. Peak hour traffic is heavy at every intersection - especially the ones with lights! We are LUCKY we DON'T have a light! Signals only cause further delays. Currently, northbound travelers on Rancho Viejo make an easy, unimpeded right turn into Highland. With a traffic signal, those right-turning cars will have to wait behind drivers held up at the signal. A light will generally be green for Rancho Viejo traffic much more than for Highland. So, leaving the area, especially in the morning hours will double the amount of cars held back by a signal, allowing only a brief 'green' for us, making this intersection more hazardous. Highland residents will be rushing out to 'beat' the light, so as not to be held up by another one. This is a more dangerous situation, instead of everyone taking the time they need to find the space in traffic that enables a safe exit.
A traffic light is false security that could be deadly. Red light runners are the leading cause of intersection accidents, making intersections the most dangerous areas on the roads. A signal at this quiet intersection will inevitably put drivers at a significant risk for more accidents to occur.
In addition to our area, I'm now getting calls from residents in Hunt Club and Marbella Country Club inquiring as to the status of this light. Every city resident who uses Rancho Viejo Road will be affected. Drivers commuting to Stoneybrooke School, Capo Valley High, Mission Viejo Mall, doctors en route to Mission Hospital... this light will interrupt their commutes as well. It appears no one benefits by another light in San Juan Capistrano! To hold up an entire city's commuters in stopping 4 lanes of free flowing traffic on Rancho Viejo Road because a few residents want the assistance of a light to make an easy left hand turn is senseless, and a waste of city dollars.
ALL area residents were not properly notified of this proposal, nor given the opportunity to attend a public hearing objecting to it. This was passed without our knowledge and we have not examined the documentation, investigative reports, or reviews supporting this idea. Also, the Zion building project has been cancelled, and even if it went through, would still have no significant impact at THIS intersection. Lights at The Village and Junipero Serra provide enough breaks in traffic, allowing ample space for merging onto Rancho Viejo from Highland. Another light is simply not needed.
SJC has gotten signal happy with traffic lights causing gridlock on every block. Just look at what traffic signals did to Junipero Serra. Don't allow this to occur in one of the last rural areas of SJC!
This traffic signal is unneeded and counterproductive. It is neither safe nor convenient. It is simply a bad idea.
Please join your neighbors in signing this petition. We value this equestrian community and want to keep it's rural intersection just the way it is - the way it was when YOU moved here. No more building is being done up Highland or on Rancho Viejo between Junipero Serra and The Village. To add a light here would be a bad mistake.
Thank you for your support! Happy Holidays.
98. Remove Police Mobile Camera at entrance to Heron Drive
There is often a mobile police camera unit situated at the traffic lights at the entrance to Heron Drive on Parlaunt Road, Langley, Slough.
This camera parks but no speed camera warning signs are displayed on Parlaunt Road.
99. Preserving our Quality of Life
Verde Valley Christian Church plans to develop a worship center in a quiet neighborhood where neither the roadways nor the area are appropriate for such heavy usage.
Their current plans call for a "Multi-purpose facility" seating 500, a lighted parking lot for 375 cars, a lighted ball field and proposed second worship building for an additional 1000 attendants.
100. Erect Traffic Control on Alter Road at Fairfax
This petition is written in order to request assistance from the City of Detroit Traffic Engineering Division to allow a traffic control device to be erected on Alter Road at the intersection of Fairfax so that excessive speeding will be stopped and safety of ourselves, our children and our property will no longer be threatened by such vehicles traveling over the posted speed limit.
101. Place a Caution Traffic Light on Bellevue and a Niles
The corner of Bellevue Ave and Niles Ave continutes to be an area of great danger for the pedestrians and traffic in this area. This has been the area of three or four traffic accidents in the last year. This is especially hazardous because of children and traffic attending Mt. Calvary Academy and the city's park accross the street and the newly opended George Butts Park, on Bellevue Avenue.
We have requested the city of Daytona to place caution light in this area, on several occasions. It is our opinion that the placement of this caution light will tremendously add to the safety of our children and help prevent our children from injury.
102. Concerned Citizens Want a Traffic Light Installed
Citizens of the Camden School District, as well as employees and visitors of the Camden Central School District residing outside of those areas, petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of State Rt 13 and Florence Hill Rd in Camden, NY.
103. Concerned Students Want a Traffic Light
Concerned citizens of the school district would like to see a traffic light installed at the intersection of Florence Hill Rd. and State Route 13, in Camden, New York.
104. Stop Sign Addition To Glenwood Rd.
We, the homeowners residing on 1200 block of Elm Avenue in City of Glendale, California are strongly urging the city authorities to consider adding a stop signs on the Glenwood Rd and Elm Avenue intersection. Currently there is only one set of stop signs for Elm Avenue. Glenwood Rd. lacks one.
Every day the residents, and especially others not familiar with this intersection, face a difficult and hazardous situation.
The view from Elm Avenue to the cross traffic on Glenwood Rd. is obstracted.
The 85% of the time parked vehicles on Glenwood Rd. are too close to to the curve of the curb. For some reason, the parking has been allowed almost to the edge of the curve.
The undersigned would attest to the fact that in order to see the cross traffic one has to pass the rear of the parked vehicles, and by this time one is almost into the Glenwood Rd. Something needs to be done as soon as possible before something tragic happens at this crossing. Crossing this street is almost like a 'catch up' game. This has been proven to be very hazardous based on our experience, and numerouse accidents we've witnessed.
105. Retention of Oleander/Hawthorne Traffic Signal
It has been noted that the City of Wilmington has plans to remove the traffic signal at the intersection of Oleander Drive and Hawthorne Road.
106. Close the Yesteryear Flea Market
Acworth, Georgia - Cobb County.
This petition is being initiated on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 to urge our County Commissioner to close down the Yesteryear flea market. If you are from Cobb County, Paulding County, or Bartow County, I invite you to sign this petition to help keep our local traffic down and protect our neighborhoods.
This petition is initiated to close the Yesteryear flea Market on the corner of Highway 41 and Dallas Acworth Highway in Cobb County Georgia. This flea market has been generating an extreme amount of traffic and backups since the larger Highway 41 flea market closed and the vendors moved to the Yesteryear flea market that the local area cannot support.
The flea market does not have adequete parking for all its visitors. Visitors to the flea market are using residential neighborhoods and U-turn areas with no regard to families and children in those neighborhoods.
Visitors to the flea market are using personal driveways to turn around in and driving above the neighborhood speed limit of 25MPH. Due to this influx of traffic from the flea market, we as residents of the surrounding neighborhoods have had to restrict our children from playing outside and riding bikes in the neighborhood. In addition, it is extremely difficult to get in and out of our neighborhoods due to the increased traffic.
Finally, this property has become a major eye sore and makes the area look bad and decreasing the value of surrounding properties.
107. We need Speed Bumps for traffic passing through Roscoe onto Pulaski
There has always been a large volume of traffic moving through this street, and hopefully this will reduce it a little.
108. Demanding that Verizon remove the utility box recently installed on the corner of Pine St. & Congers
We are demanding that Verizon remove the utility box that they recently installed on a utility pole on the corner of Pine St. & Congers Rd. The continual presence of several utility trucks servicing this box and the already existing existy telephone utility box is creating a safety hazard for our children and a traffic hazard for all resident s who use Pine Street to access tgeur home.
We understand the nessecity of this new improvement, but feel a better and much safer place for this utility box would be elsewhere other than the corner of Pine Street and Congers Rd. This corner is already a bad corner for vehicle traffic. The island opposite Pine St. on the southeast side of Congers Rd. would be a much more safer placement for this utility box. Safer for our children, residential traffic and safer for Verizon workers.
109. Stop through traffic on Maria Street
As you are well aware there is a new Superstore under construction at the corner of St Clair and Runnymede.
Firstly, on Maria St. the city has posted signs prohibiting heavy trucks from using this street Despite these signs the street is being used as a throughway fro commercial and construction traffic on a regular basis, from Runnymede Ave. all the way through to Clendenan Ave., and vice versa. The affected residential streets include: Clendenan Ave., Boiler St., St. John's Place, Gilmore Avenue and Maria Street.
Secondly, more often than not we are seeing Maria St. used as a throughway for drivers who wish to avoid the traffic lights on Dundas West and find a "short cut" to the stock yards shopping area.
Our main concern is for the safety of the high density of small children in our neighbourhood, not used to the increased traffic. Often the drivers are moving at speeds well above the posted limit, too fast for a residential street, and thru traffic is increasing weekly.
Because of the current layout of Maria St. upon, completion of the new Superstore these problems will be compounded and Maria street will see: increased traffic, parking space deficiency, danger to our children and an increase in noise pollution.
Our proposed solution to these concerns is to have part of Maria St. be designated as a one way so that it is not a throughway from Clendenan to Runnymede.
110. Stop the Rezoning of the Creekview Neighborhood!
Stop the Rezoning of the Creekview Neighborhood.
111. Stop the degradation of Lakeline Villas
Lakeline Villas sold to United Dominion. Since the onset of this change, the quality of the property has diminished, the management is unfriendly and rude, the gates remain open and there is a lot of non-resident traffic on the property as well as in the pool.
112. Compensation for Residential property damage by Air Traffic over our city by the Airlines community
We the Citizens of Inkster Michigan seek the support and leadership of our City Government to advocate for funding from the Metro Airport Community to replace windows, roofs and all siding of our homes. We are requesting this because as you know The Airline industry has a plane flying over our city every minute. It is creating structural damage to our homes, vehicles and disrupting our sense of peace as a community.
We want accountability from our Elected City Officials and we are demanding that they seek compensation for All damages outlined in this petition. Make no mistake your neighboring cities Westland, Wayne, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Romulus have all had similar petition drives which lead to the control over the frequency of flights over their cities and Secondly, monetary compensation for all damages to their property by the Airline Industry.
As a result of Quality leadership in those cities, the residents of those cities were able and are able to get new doors, windows, roofs, insulation and more. We are seeking compensation for our damages. We need the unified support of all residents in this city to come together and support this petition drive. You can do your part by signing this petition.
113. Stop people getting away with murder behind the wheel
We lost our 12 year old daughter Hayley in a car crash on 16th March 2003. Hayley was a passenger in a vehicle and was on her way home when the accident happened. It seems that a blue peugeot 406 was driving erratically at around 80mph up the centre of the road overtaking and undertaking traffic causing it to swerve and brake heavily.
The vehicle Hayley was in was forced to brake and went into a skid which threw them into oncoming traffic and fatally injuring her and seriously injuring 5 other people.
The peugeot having seen what had happened and avoiding being involved in the collision itself stopped some 100 ft away from the site of the crash and then drove off at speed. This vehicle has not yet been traced. The law allowed us one police officer to carry out investigations into the accident and to find the driver of the peugeot.
This is ridiculous as there were over 100 statements taken which took one officer months to complete. Had my daughter been killed on the street rather than in a car there would have been a whole team of detectives working on her death and finding her killer.
If this driver is found they will be charged with causing death by dangerous driving which carries a maximum of 14 years in prison but is usually dropped to a careless driving charge whereby the death of a person is not even taken into account and the sentence is usually just a fine and sometimes a driving ban of upto 3 years.
The law needs changing to ensure that the death of a person killed by dangerous driving is taken into account and treated as manslaughter when neccessary.
It is now 3 years since Hayley died and her killer is still out there free to kill again. We haven't heard a thing from the police in over 12 months which basically means that they have no further evidence to suggest who the guilty party is. If anyone knows a thing please get in touch with us or the police.
114. Abolish Construction Use of Private Road in Delray Beach, Florida
Construction traffic is using 133rd as an access point into a new development known as Bexley Park. This is causing residents who's home abut 133rd to be subjected to extreme amounts of noise and polution which is thereby causing property damage and stress to these residents.
115. FOUR WAY STOP LIGHT AT MOUNT VERNON DRIVE AND PRESCOTT ROAD
TO PUT A FOUR WAY STOP LIGHT
AT THE INTERSECTION OF MOUNT VERNON DRIVE AND PRESCOTT ROAD.IT TAKES ANY WHERE FROM 5-20 MINS TO MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT HAND TURN ON TO PRESCOTT ROAD. THE TRAFFIC BACKS UP ON MOUNT VERNON DRIVE MAKING THE RESIDENCES UNABLE TO GET IN OR OUT OF THERE DRIVEWAY.
YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO CROSS THE ROAD AT MOUNT VERNON AND PRESCOTT THEIR ARE APTMENTS ACROSS FROM PRESCOTT STILL MAKING IT MOUNT VERNON.
IF YOU WANTED TO CROSS THE STREET YOU NEED TO WALK DOWN TO THE CORNER OF PARKWAY PLAZA AND PRESCOTT ROAD WHERE THE LIGHT IS AND THEN YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO CROSS THE ROAD.
THERE ARE CHILDREN WHO HAVE TO CROSS PRESCOTT AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO CROSS.
THE NEXT CROSS WALK IS AT PRESCOTT AND SHARON WAY YOU ARE NOT EVEN ABLE TO CROSS THERE.
THEN WE HAVE A 3 WAY STOP LIGHT AT PRESCOTT AND CHESYLER AND IT HAS A CROSS WALK SO THERE ARE CHOICES.
SO WILL YOU PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING THIS PETITION TO HELP MAKE OUR INTERCEPTION SAFE.
116. Protest against any "through street" to proposed subdivision
We the owners and residents of Shadow Brook Estates, Cave Junction, OREGON, protest any through street to the proposed subdivision on tax lots 700 & 701, owned by PJW Properties LLC.
We feel the intrusion of traffic into our quiet cul-de-sac subdivision is a disturbing development. Our street is narrow and does not provide room for pedestrians or parking on the street. We are concerned that additional traffic coming and going will be a safety issue for us, our children and pets.
Pleade reconsider not using Shadow Brook Drive as an access to the proposed subdivision on Hanby Lane. Thank you. The concerned owners and residents of Shadow Brook Estates.
117. Road Closure at Westwood Dr & Margin Dr W
As the William Floyd Parkway has seen more and more conjestion and traffic, drivers have decided to take alternate routes to by-pass traffic lights. It has become an increasing problem with development in the surrounding area. For example; the new Head Start opening, the opening of Home Depot, and extra traffic lights have added to the already serious problem. Numorous accidents have happened in our residential neighborhood just off of William Floyd Parkway.
Our main fear is that our children are at risk of being the fatality that will bring attention to this issue of speeding vehicles on residential streets. So before that happens a solution must be found.
118. Circle Drive Community - stop speeding traffic on Circle Drive
We, the undersigned, are asking the City of Oxford to do something about the speeding traffic on Circle Drive.
119. Lights at the Joyce avenue
This is a danourous intersectin outside our childrens Child Care Centre.
People do dangerous U-turns from the far side into the Service station with no thought to giving way to the cars leaving Joyce Avenue.
There is an ever increasing number of acidents outside where our children are being cared for and we don't want another incident like at the Roundhouse Childcare Centre in Janurary
Please sign this petition to go to the Traffic Management Dept of Banyule Council.
120. State of Maine's third lane law for truckers
The State of Maine the way Life should be.
This moto is changing with new laws trying to be passed by the State of Maine. It is becoming a discriminating state if they allow the law for trucks to stay right to be passed. Take a look at other states and how the left lane law has affected them. Traffic is impaired worse than Maine's. The only thing slowing us down are the toll boths.
