61. Parent/citizen concern for students attending Jefferson Township Schools 
We the parents of students attending our Jefferson Township Schools are concerned about the failure rates of our children/students. It appears that parents have voiced their concern an approximately (ongoing) 3-4 yrs. in reference to this matter and the board members have listened and stated they are not hearing enough complaints,nor have the principals of these buildings, and the previous superintendent's. This is false, and definitely not true. Some of us parent's have contacted the Superintendent and the previous Principals to no avail. We were assured improvement would be made and to date it has not, and now our children are also being harrassed by teachers.
If one teacher voices a complaint about a student or more students, then the other teachers that the students also attend classes with are gathered to meet and discuss negatively in a meeting with said child or children. THIS TRULY LOWERS THE SELF-ESTEEM OF OUR CHILDREN AND THEY DON'T WANT TO ATTEND THE CLASS OF SAID TEACHER'(S) NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. "WE ARE TIRED AND WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT THIS BEHAVIOR TOWARD OUR CHILDREN." The teaching concept no longer has any regard to the title "TEACHER".
This Petition was posted and written by Matthew Gip of Arlington Middle School to help End the "Work-to-Rule" Act of 2003 imposed by the ETT (Elementary Teachers of Toronto) against the TDSB. All of the following undersigned below, by signing this petition, state that they wish to bring the Work-to-Rule Act to an End.
63. Llano I.S.D. Cheerleader Selection Process
This petition is to request the 4 J.V.cheerleader candidates for 03-04, who were eliminated by unjust voting & a delayed time period from the point of competition to 6 days later when the voting by students & teachers was completed, be placed with the J.V. cheering squad, if they so choose, with the same distinction as the other cheerleaders. Due to circumstances beyond their control all these candidates were subjected to an unfair vote given by teachers who have no knowledge of the girls other than maybe a personal connection through the community or friends, but certainly not by student performance in academics or other school related activities. Also, by the stuent body who is not familiar with the 8th grade candidates. This type of voting is the most unfair elimination process.
This is also a request that the current voting system used by Llano High School be changed from a 50% judges, 25% teacher and 25% student body to a selection process that does not involve the teacher's votes at all unless they are going to vote on academic performance only. Lastly, that all voting (judges & student body) for Varsity and J.V. be completed, with results posted, the same day as tryouts.
64. PA State needs control over the Schools
Pa State board of Education has no control over the school system. Most teachers in our schools do not even need to be certified.
65. Get Our Teachers Better Contracts in Wisconsin Rapids School District
Our teachers in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and various other states have been on the same contract for the past 3 years. I as a student at Lincoln High School feel that this is wrong. I mean I have worked at a resturaunt for a little over a year and have had 3 raises. Personally, I feel that educators deserve to be respected and treated the way we want to be. I wonder how long politicians would be in office if there was no money in it, don't you? Therefore, due to the fact that teachers must put up with unruly school children, pranks, and even work extra hours in order to help us, the younger generation to learn the facts that will help us succeed in life; I believe we should help our teachers by signing this petition and giving it to the Wisconsin Rapids Board of Education.
I am a middle school student. Our gym teacher in most students' opinion is behaving inappropiately. Such as when we are in the push up position he will stand over you (one leg on each side of you) and place his hands under your stomach and pull you up. This is uncomfortable for a teacher to do this. He also pushes your legs down when we are in another stretching position. So I am asking for your help, and please sign. Thank You!
67. Increase American Public School Teachers Pay
For years educators income has been far below what it should. With loan repayments, many new teachers don't get out of debt until they are thrity. If the New York City Teacher Unions have to settle for anything it should be a pay of $65,000 and full repayment of student loans. Education should be key. If athletes are payed $100,00O why not the people who educate the world.
We as future educators, parents and students should fight for this and stand ground on something do important. With a pay raise the field will become more competitive causing only yhe best teachers to be involved with our children, our future.
68. Ocean View Bell Schedule should not change
Ocean Admin/Teachers plan to change the bell schedule next year (2002-2003)to:
0, 1/2, tutorial, break, 3/4, lunch, 5/6

69. Stop essential service workers harming the community through job action
From teachers striking and now the doctors complaining, I just can't stand how these people don't do there job. They should try and get what they want withough harming the community.
70. The Way Teachers and Principals Teach Our Children
A lot of our schools are run amock. Teachers, Principles, Guidance Counselors, etc don't know how to understand our children. They see them the way they want to. And if your child's grades stay low, they try and lable them or say they don't pay attention. Some teachers physically touch our children and get away with it because of their Teacher Contract. Some authoritive figures in our school just get sick of handling our children and recommend them to quit school. All authoritive figures in our schools should have to have further education themselves to learn how to understand our children. And with such large classes, our children having problems with grades don't get the extra help they need.
Our schools and their educational teachers need a deeper,thorough examination. All for our children's sakes. And only 3 minutes in between classes to go to lockers and get books is outrageous! Then when they are late, they get detention! What good is this teaching our children? Somebody help our children. They are the next generation and our future authoritive figures!
71. Teachers Wages
We the teachers of Hunt - Mapp Middle School, feel that we deserve a raise in our wages. Considering that gasoline, oil, and tax prices are rising, it seems that we are getting less and less pay each year to maintain the care of our families, and ourselves as well.
