212. Stop Horse Slaughter In Canada
January 20, 2006
Help STOP horse slaughter in Canada please read then Sign your name...
Horses are known and loved throughout our country for many, varied reasons. Horses are considered by some to be symbols of the wild west; to others they are noble, kind animals to ride and admire, Olympic partners, therapeutic riding mounts, and the creatures who provided them with fond memories of summer camp, dude ranches and vacation trail rides. Horses are all this to Canadians and for these reasons and more, we do not eat horses in Canada!
Over 70,000 American live horses and ponies are slaughtered inhumanely every year in the Canada each year, their meat marketed overseas fetching a high price, in countries like France and Belgium. The vast majority of Canadians do not approve of horse slaughter, yet it is still a little known fact that horses are killed for human consumption but when people learn this, they say "no more killing." We have the opportunity to end this tragic and needless brutality now.
This bill would end horse slaughter for food, including exporting both the flesh and live horses. Canadian horses are treasured pets and working companions. They should NOT be on anyone's menu. Foreigners are not entitled to eat our horses and ponies. There are plenty of alternatives for horses whose owners cannot or will not keep them. There are also many alternative and humane endings for these horses. It is the right thing to do. We are waiting.
If you would like to take charge yourself here are some...
Tips for Writing to Members of Congress
It should be no more than one page, preferably two to three short paragraphs. In the first sentence of the first paragraph identify the issue or bill number and whether you want your legislator to support or oppose it. Next, briefly describe why you want them to take this action. Lengthy letters with indirect messages are less likely to be read.
In a hurry?
Hand-written postcards are just as useful as letters. They can simply read: "Dear Representative __________: I urge you to support and cosponsor H.R. 1581. This bill would ban cruel steel-jawed leghold traps which injure and kill wildlife and family pets."
Facts about horse slaughter...
*Last year three foreign-owned slaughter plants cruelly slaughtered more than 65,000 horses for human consumption in Europe and Asia. Tens of thousands more of Canada's horses were exported and slaughtered in other countries.
* Slaughter is NOT humane euthanasia. Horses suffer horribly on the way to and during slaughter.
* 92.3 percent of horses arriving at slaughter plants in this country are in "good" condition.
* The average cost of having a horse
humanely euthanized and safely disposing of the animal's carcass is approximately $225, while
the average monthly cost of keeping a horse is approximately $200.
213. Justice for Lopez Family!
January 16, 2006
We often hear stories in the media, of horrific acts that others have committed once they have reached our land. We question why or how they were able to get through the stringent and strict procedures of our Country's Immigration Office.
We now have in our midst a decent and loving family of 4, who's desire is to stay in Canada and to join the group of our most productive citizens and friendliest of neighbors.
Victor Lopez Hernandez and his wife, Kaly Rosa Maria Lopez Lugo, along with their 2 very young sons, are doing whatever possible (within the boundaries of our laws) to stay in Canada.
Immigration has declined their application. Please help us to help them in their fight to stay here in this land of freedom.
Victor Lopez is from Mexico and his wife is from Venezula.
They entered this Canada on refugee status. Immigration may not even allow them to stay together as a family! They will be deported into their own countries/ place of birth. What kind of a Country do we live in where people (who sit on an immigration board), not only deports such a great family, but splits them apart?!
Victor has a very good and decent job and takes pride in providing for his family through hard work. He works in the construction industry as a skilled labourer. There is a shortage of skilled labourers in this Country. They are NOT asking for a free ride...just a beautiful country to live in, where they can exercise freedom and live in peace and harmony with all other citizens.
Please sign our petition to the Immigration board members looking at their case. We are asking them to reconsider their decision!

It has come to my attention companies like Borders and Amazon won't carry books. I assume they feel that they are too racy and cross too many lines. Well I disagree.
I think his books are cool and I should be able to buy them from the store just like any other author.
High School Whore and Blood Angel should be available every where. Support Parys Sylver.
215. Help Somalia
The Right Honourable Paul Martin
Prime Minister of Canada
Dear Prime Minister,
After fourteen years of the absence of all forms of law and order in Somalia, there is a renewed optimism. Somalia and its people now have a government. Yet, without the help of the international community Somalia will remain a failed state.
Canada has demonstrated its commitment to being a world leader in peace keeping, and the fight against poverty, hunger, and disease in the developing world and Africa in particular.
The Somali population in Canada exceeds 100,000 and represents the largest community of African descent within our nation. The Somali-Canadian community believes that Canada should change its "wait and see" policy towards Somalia, and act immediately in supporting the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia (TFG).
I urge you to show bold international leadership by leading the way in supporting the Somali government's efforts to create peace and stability through the rule of law and the establishment of good governance. I believe the Government of Canada should take the following steps in order to facilitate the peace and reconciliation process already begun in Somalia:
Immediate and full diplomatic recognition for the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia;
Appoint a Special Envoy to Somalia;
Support Somalia in its efforts to rebuild by offering the services of experts in federalism and good governance;
Support Somalia in its efforts to reconstruction and institutional development by creating Somalia Reconstruction Trust Fund;
Help in safeguarding the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Somalia;
Help in the creation of a national police force in Somalia using the expertise of the RCMP.
We feel the time has come, under Your Excellency's leadership, to use your good offices and influence in the House of Commons to help the Canadian government understand what is at stake in the Horn of Africa. I appeal to you, to support discussions and actions that will lead to the healing, restoration and reconciliation of Somalia.
Thank you for your favorable consideration,
Yours Sincerely

219. Feminism should be taught in schools
We continue to take a stand against companies and members of congress who do not support womens rights. One thing we are not doing enough of is educating our children about women's rights.
Perhaps if the ceo's and members of congess who are not standing up for womens rights were educated about sexual equality at an early age maybe, we wouldn't continue to have to fight for them.
President Bush just made a statement that intelligent design should be taught in schools. His reasoning was (direct quote from msnbc):
"I think that part of education is to expose people to different schools of thought," Bush said. "You're asking me whether or not people ought to be exposed to different ideas, the answer is yes."
Bush is right we should learn about many different schools of thought and many different ideas. Therefore feminism should also be taught in schools. Both men and women have a right to know about the many issues women have to fight for.
220. Support Taiwan's bid to UN
Update: September 1, 2007
Please sign the updated petition at the following link Online petition - Support UN Membership for Taiwan.
The TECRO Press Release promoting the new petition can be found here.
----------------------------------------------
The Republic of China (Taiwan) is a free and peace-loving state, and its democratically elected government is the only one that represents the interests and wishes of the people of Taiwan.
Taiwan is the only nation not represented in the global assembly. The United Nations' exclusion of Taiwan violates the principles and spirit of the UN Charter, in particular the fundamental principle of universality, and of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Taiwan and its 23 million people are capable of making significant contributions to many UN efforts around the globe. Taiwan is also eager to do its part to combat such international problems as regional conflict, terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime, and environmental degradation. However, Taiwan is denied an important means of collaborating with international partners. This unnecessarily complicates the task at hand and hampers efforts to deal with such critical issues.
Moreover, as we enter the tenth anniversary of the 1996 Taiwan Strait Missile Crisis, the recent missile tests by North Korea have once again raised grave concerns throughout the international community. From this perspective, Taiwan’s allies have expanded the scope of areas with security concerns in the peace proposal to include all East Asian countries rather than just the Taiwan Strait. They stress that certain countries in the region engage in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction as well as missile deployment or testing, thereby escalating regional tension and affecting world peace.
Taiwan is a democratic nation that respects human rights, freedom, and peace. Taiwan meets all the requirements of UN membership. It makes little sense that Taiwan is ignored when considering the fact that Taiwan serves as a model for freedom and democracy in the Asia-Pacific and a beacon of hope for those living under communist rule. To safeguard peace, the United Nations has to facilitate the necessary dialogue between Taiwan and the People's Republic of China.
Please support Taiwan and help it gain representation in the United Nations.
221. Parenting Lasts a LIfetime: Child Support Enforcement Laws
July 28, 2005
The welfare system was created to give individuals and families a "boost" in times of need. For those families that are raising children as single parents, that "boost" was to be replaced by Child Support.
Yet, it remains that our "boost" has been snatched from underneath us, and we are freefalling through life. Those of us that strive for greatness, obtain a college education, and gainful employment are penalized with deductions in our support.
Why is support terminated at 18 years of age? Does the child, now grown up, no longer belong to the noncustodial parent? If I must support my son through college, why shouldn't his father? Why do custodial parents not get at least a minimal increase during months of pertinence: i.e. August-back to school, month of birth, or Christmas? These periods are particularly difficult times financially for single parents when the noncustodial parent does not acknowledge them. My particular situation, while odd, I'm sure is not unique. My child's father does not celebrate holidays, therefore he buys nothing for my child on his birthday or for Christmas, and to date, he has not explained to him the reason for his lack of acknowledgment. So as I struggle to gather school supplies, clothes and shoes, and plan a decent Christmas, he lives a carefree life, for in his eyes, his childsupport takes care of everything. The reality is, after paying daycare, there is less than $100/month to "support" my son.
Many single parents have attended college, as I did, in an effort to improve the lives of our kids. Despite our best efforts, the system is designed for us to fail! The better you do, the more you achieve, the less support you are granted. I refuse to be a failure! By supporting this petition, you are giving a voice to the needs of children across America. So many people fight for the rights of children in other countries while the children here continue to suffer. I refuse to struggle while my former partner donates pennies to the welfare of my child! We can wage war against this system, and one way or another, We will win!!
222. End the war in northern Uganda
Sign this petition to pressure President Bush and the U.S. Congress to take action and help end the war in northern Uganda that has already led to the abduction of more than 25,000 children.
Tell President Bush, Senators and Congress Members You Want the United States to Take the Lead in Ending the Worst Abuse of Children in the World.
Tell Them to Step Up and Lead Efforts to End the War in Northern Uganda.
For 19 years, a war has flared in northern Uganda between a rebel group called the Lord's Resistance Army, led by Joseph Kony, and President Yoweri Museveni's government. The war's main targets are not the combatants. The targets are children.
Over the course of the fighting, an estimated 25,000 boys and girls have been abducted and forced into being soldiers and sex slaves. Thousands of children and their families have been killed; hundreds of thousands live in squalid, unsafe camps.
President Bush has directed some dollars and programs to assist the people of northern Uganda. But he could be a decisive leader in promoting an end to this conflict in 2005 if he made it an American moral priority.
This could be ended if the United States - one of Uganda's top foreign aid donors - gave sustained political and diplomatic attention to it. The White House and Capitol Hill lawmakers should take these actions:
-- President Bush should allocate finances and appoint a high-profile envoy to support Ugandan attempts to hold peace talks. Bush should invest a small amount of his time by personally talking to Museveni and letting him know the United States has made a moral priority of protecting children in northern Uganda by ending the war there. He also should call Sudanese leaders in the capital of Khartoum and in the south to get a pledge from them to fully end support to Joseph Kony and his LRA.
-- The Senate and the House of Representatives should prepare a plan for tying further U.S. military aid to human rights monitoring and Government of Uganda's commitment to peace talks; the latter demonstrated by the convening of negotiations attended by top officials from both sides of the conflict.
With these actions as a start, President Bush and members of the House and Senate could demonstrate that the United States seeks to help children in need wherever they are. Please sign the attached petition and urge our elected officials to act immediately.
Add my voice to Americans of all political and personal backgrounds who want you to make resolving the war in northern Uganda a priority, and begin by taking the above actions.
223. Save Our Soldiers (S.O.S)
Save Our Soldiers (S.O.S) is a primary response designed to give moral support to British soldiers serving across the globe who are currently under investigation from the British Government.

219 Curt I get disability and it took over a year to get then medicaid wouldnt cover the hospital bills more than 90 days back leaving me screwed drowning in medical bills.
218 Adrienne Smith It is hard enough to get disability and has taken me two yrs to get before a judge. Now you want to change everything that people on disabiity need. We are still people. Most of us have worked very hard in our lives, and no one asked to get sick or disabled in anyway. Some day I would hope to re-marry, however, it seems that you are forcing people to live together instead of the instiution of marriage which is sacred. We can not lose money because we want to marry and live some kind of life. Please do no go through with any kind of "taking away from the disabled people of the United States". Our goverment seems more concerned with giving money to people in other countries than taking care of the born and raised US citizians.

217 Wendy Gantos I am a disabled attorney and cannot practice due to my disability. I had to wait 2 years for my employer to give me long term disability. During that time, I tried to get food stamps, and the process was so ridiculously long and hard, I never got them! Now if an attorney can't figure out the system, how can the rest of the country figure it out. I live now on disability and my bills are way more than my income every month. I can't even afford to pay my student loans. Great country, huh?
216 Ron Bones My wife is on ssi&ssd,I'm a disabled Vet with only 30% and we barely get through the month. food stamps only go so far when what you get isn't even half of what a single friend gets because she lives in a different part of the State. Tehy need to get the system worked out so that everything is equal. But I doubt we'llsee it soon. You know the old saying: SURE YOU CAN TRUST OUR GOVERMENT...JUST ASK ANY NATIVE AMERICAN!
215 Liz DeWitt Please, do not abolish social security. We need it.
214 Katherine M. Aaron Please support the disabled in this country. They already have to jump through hoops just to be approved and it certainly causes financial hardship on a family that are unecessary.
213 Joyce A Spencer People who marry they have disabilities. They end up losing some money. How in this country can they live could. When they pay more out of there checks every month.People should not have money taken away from them.Just because they marry.

209 Kathy Rogers I'm the mother of a disabled young adult. Our people in the US should taken care of before others. Forcing people to live alone or divorce a spouse to receive benefits is inhumane.
208 John Davis Remember Tim Cratchett? (Dickens-A Christmas Carol) You don't really want to see a nation of them do you? Give us the tools to maintain our dignity and ability to still be productive citizens!
207 Jacqueline McVicar What happened to taking care of our own? Shouldn't citizens of the United States receive aide before any other country?
206 Mike Pearson We can afford WAR , but we can't afford those with diabilities. and we say we are a Christian Nation???
205 Joanne D. Ferguson This is so important!
204 Dixie Boyd I am on disability. I cannot get glasses. I cannot get dental. I don't have transportation. If I marry I will loose my own benefits... WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY IS THIS?

198 Debi Koscielski My goverment supports & pushes its religious beliefs on me by promoting marrage & its religious right, yet punishes me by taking my disability when I comply. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!

225. In support of D. Susan Whitman
June 7, 2005
This petition is to show support to D. Susan Whitman in the JUSTIFIED return of her horses by the court system. And we believe the remaining charges against her should be thrown out.
We feel all accusations were unfounded and that the seizure of Ms. Whitman's horses never should have occured in the first place.
226. Support Option D in Issaquah redistricting
The Issaquah School district has begun a fast-track redistricting plan.
We are concerned that several of the plans do not do what is best for the students of Issaquah and Sammamish and encourage people to support plan D which uses the new highland school more effectively and keeps students together much more cohesively.
227. Enforce the Death Penalty
June 2, 2005
Enforce the Death Penalty
To Strongly Support means you believe: An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life. The death penalty is appropriate punishment for murder, as a form of justice regardless of the deterrence effect.
Support means you believe: The death penalty and other strict forms of law enforcement will reduce the crime rate by removing criminals from the streets and by deterring others from criminal acts. Capital punishment laws should be enforced.
Capital punishment is effective. No one has proven a "wrongful death" in any modern state executions. Stricter penalties reduce violent crime.
We keep building new prisons. Why don't we get rid of the criminals that don't value a persons life? Get rid of the ones that rape and kill our innocent children. Get rid of the criminal that can rape and kill an elderly woman. Get rid of the criminal that can kill an innocent store clerk. Let's teach the new generation, killing is a definite death penalty.
Why do they live better than some of our other hard working Americans? I am tired of supporting these convicted child and adult killers. Are we supporting them for the pain they have caused those that have lost loved ones?
Now we have kids killing kids. Is our society letting them think it is okay? If we start the Death Penalty now, we can keep some kids from going into crime.
I say enforce the death penalty. Put the criminals where they have put the innocent victims. It is time to take a stand. Wake our system up.
AN EYE FOR AN EYE.

When you have completed the form(s), or have as many signatures as you think you may get, please will you return it to school - address is above.

230. Meaningful election reform via real investigations!

231. A fair go for Disability Support Pensioners
The Liberal Party of Australia will have absolute legislative control of Parliament as from June 2005. One of the Government's first acts will be to slash the entitlements of people with disabilities.
The major change will be classifying anyone able to work 15 hours per week as no longer eligible for disability support, and instead, being classified as unemployed. This will subject an estimated 60,000 Australians already living in poverty to even worse poverty.
232. The Bali Nine
The bali nine are suffering due to the mistakes and the lack of our Australian police and government investigating the ring leaders here in australia.
My name is Rachel Richardson and i am a former heroin addict and now a Human Rights campaigner and a member of Amnesty International, we need to stop injustices such as this, there needs to be more support in the war against drugs we need to educate our children against the dangers such as drug smuggling and the traps that they can so easily be caught up in.
There needs to be better rehabilitation and education and the government needs to be of support to this as well.... we all make mistakes and we need to learn from them not be killed for them.
Who will be the next victims ?? our children ?? being offered free holidays to indonesia. Then having their lives threatened or the lives of their families. This whole case needs to be investigated properly and the people behind this need to be prosecuted. Innocent people were roped into smuggling heroin and have already been sentenced to death due to the indonesian laws.
It is now up to the Australian Government and John Howard to help these innocent victims.

To keep the town's only legitimate sledding hill for our community.

234. Stop cruel deportation of mother of two young US children
Rosalba M. is a Mexican citizen who has been living and working as a housekeeper in the SF Bay Area for approximately the past thirteen years. Her two sons, G.(13) and L.(11) are U.S. citizens who have lived here their entire lives and attend public school in the Bay Area. Rosalba divorced their father some years ago due to his repeated physical abuse. Rosalba was awarded custody of the children and they live with her most of the time. She has sole responsibility for their up bringing. Rosalba is a law-abiding, hard-working, loving mother who is a tremendous role model for her children. She has invested all of her spare time and scarce resources in giving them a better opportunity than she has had in life, including a quality education. G. and L. are good, well-behaved children who are deeply attached to their mother. G. is an honor student. L. has some learning disabilities that require special attention from the school and his mother. Their father takes little interest in the children and has shown little concern for their welfare. He is unemployed, has a criminal record and he and his current wife have refused to pay court-ordered child support for two years.
Following a bureaucratic process, Rosalba has been notified by Homeland Security that she will be deported as an illegal alien on May 3, and that she may not re-enter the country for at least five years. She has consistently cooperated with the immigration authorities and has repeatedly appealed to them to consider the impact of their proposed actions on her children. Section 240A of the Immigration and Nationality Act provides eligibility for relief in cases of hardship to children such as this one. However, her appeals to the immigration service and the courts have been rejected, and the children are now facing the terrifying prospect of having their mother permanently taken away from them by their own Government.
They face an impossible choice:
· Stay in the United States without their mother, dependent on a violent father who has shown little concern for their education or general welfare, or
· Go with their mother to live in one of the poorest regions of Mexico, a country whose language they do not speak, without access to education or financial support
In either case, the impact on their lives will be devastating.
235. Working Together for a Green OSU
This is an attempt to voice the concerns of the student body in regards to the recycling program on campus. Although some recycling projects do exist, they are isolated in terms of locations on campus and number of people that have the information and materials to participate in the recycling program.
The students are asking for funding from the University in support of a comprehensive recycling program that would enable every building on campus the opportunity to receive information and materials for the recycling of white paper, cardboard, plastic and glass.
With this funding a position for a campus recycling coordinator would be created, enabling implementation of new practices and stronger support for existing practices.
236. Beer Microbrewery at Cowaramup
Basically we are trying to gather support for a small family owned, family operated microbrewery.

- Licensed Restaurant
- Children's Play Area
237. Removal of management team at Kilmarnock Football Club
The supporters of Kilmarnock Football Club who have signed this petition wish for the removal of the manager at Rugby Park, Jim Jefferies.
There have been polls on this issue run on unofficial fans' sites - all of which show overwhelmingly that the fans' wish the manager to leave.
The most recent polls gave the following results:
17th February 2005 - 86 Supporters polled
JJ MUST GO 59 (68.6%)
UNDECIDED 19 (22.09%)
JJ MUST STAY 8 (9.3%)
3rd March 2005 - 196 supporters polled
JJ should GO now 131 (66.84%)
JJ should stay 65 (33.16%)
There is also a poll being run currently which started on 10th April 2005 - this can be viewed at: http://killiefc.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=16990
The overall results will be known towards the end of next week, however 52 supporters have been polled so far and the results at the moment are:
JJ Must Go - 49 (94.23%)
JJ Must Stay - 3 (5.77%)
Many supporters felt that despite their personal views, the manager deserved support until the target of a top 6 place was no longer achievable. Now that Kilmarnock are unable to get into the Top 6 - most feel it is now time for him to leave - and feel the manager could leave with integrity intact if he were to do the decent thing and resign from his position. If this were not to happen within the next fortnight - the fans wish the club to take the appropriate action and relieve the manager of his duties at the club ASAP.
Discontent has been growing among the fans since the Christmas period, but the 3-1 defeat by Hearts in the Scottish Cup was the last straw for many.
The clubs own target of a top 6 place has now not been met for the past 2 seasons - this is simply not good enough. The fans realise that there are financial pressures put upon the management team and the club as a whole - which is constantly being cited as a reason for our poor run of results - but feel that the current position is unacceptable. Aberdeen, Motherwell and Hibernian all work with small squads like our own - mostly made up of young players - and they all have financial restrictions put upon them also - however all of these teams are sitting above us in the SPL - so having a small squad of young, inexperienced players is no longer a viable excuse - especially as this squad have largely been together now for the past 3 years.
The manager has been in charge now for three seasons and things seem to be getting gradually worse. We have an extremely talented young squad of players - but unfortunately the management team is not currently getting the best from them.
The following shows a list of where the club has finished in the Premier since 1997:
Season 97-98 4th
Season 98-99 4th
Season 99-00 9th
Season 00-01 4th
Season 01-02 5th
Season 02-03 4th
Season 03-04 10th
Season 04-05 8th
Jim Jefferies first full season in charge was 2002-03 - when we apparently "over-achieved" - despite having finished in the top 5 in 4 of the previous 5 seasons. Since then manager has totally changed the squad and it is now 'his' team - we have finished 10th last season and are currently sitting 8th - however on current form could quite easily finish 10th or 11th.
There are many reasons why we think this action needs to be undertaken straight away - however we have tried to keep this factual rather than resorting to too many personal opinions - as that would not give a true opinion of the full fan base.
Kilmarnock have lost support every year for the past five years. From an average of over 11,500 in 1998-99 to an average of under 7,000 now. The average attendances are only going in one direction at the moment and many fans feel that attendances will not rise until a change of manager is implemented. Many fans have openly stated they are unhappy with the current management team and will not return to Rugby Park at all until this changes - no matter how well the team are doing.
We have started this petition in order to show our feelings towards this situation in a peaceful manner - HOWEVER - if the fans' opinion is not taken seriously and a change of manager is not implemented very soon, a more organised approach in the form of protests before and after home matches shall be taken. Many fans are voting with their feet at the moment - and to ignore the club's most loyal customers is going to see the attendances slump to a new low not seen for over a decade.
With survival in the SPL looking likely and being in the 'bottom 6' - the fans feel as though there is very little left to play for this season but pride. Unfortunately 6 points from a possible 30 in our last 10 SPL matches is simply not good enough - and if this sort of form continues we may yet get dragged into the relegation dogfight - which is why the supporters feel a change must be made NOW. In our last 12 games - we have only achieved 2 wins and 1 draw - with 6 of the 12 matches being played at home. During these games we have only kept a clean sheet ONCE, and have failed to score in 6 of these games. In these 12 matches - we have conceded 21 goals and only scored 10 (3 of which were scored against dundee united - which was also the only game in which we kept a clean sheet - against the bottom side in the SPL).
To reiterate - The supporters of Kilmarnock Football Club who have signed this petition wish for the removal of the manager, Jim Jefferies.
If you wish to show your support for this petition - please fill in your details and please give your correct email address so that your support can be counted (we need the proper email address in order that your support can be digitally signed - please check your junk mail folder if you think you have not got an email). Obviously it is better if you include your home address also - but we have kept this optional as we realise not everyone is comfortable in giving out this information.
This petition will finish on the 24th April - thanks in advance for any support. Please feel free to send a link to this petition to the club in order that they realise this has your support.
238. Restore Greenwood Cemetery
Please support us in our efforts to restore and clean up Greenwood Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL. There are over 1,500 people buried in Greenwood Cemetery, along with Veterans from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, and the Korean War.
By signing this petition you will be helping to preserve history and honor those that have been laid to rest.
After years of faithful service and dedication to the Western Heights School District Band Programs, Mr. Smith has resigned due to the parents who consistantly find the need to run to administration and complain and the school administration's refusal to support him as the Head Band Director.
240. Regulation of Energy Drinks
Some energy drinks that are available for sale in Canada are Guru®, Jolt Cola®, SoBe's Arush® etc. These drinks claim to increase one's energy, performance and concentration.
However, these drinks were introduced in Canada in July, 2004 with a lack of information, misinformation and with information being omitted from the labeling of these 'energy drinks'. This is evidently an important issue particularly because of the potential negative health effects that can result from the misuse of this type of beverage.
These drinks can have serious health effects that have gone unnoticed and unaddressed by Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
Because of the improper labeling and regulation of these drinks, consumers are not given a fair chance to make informed decision to consume these drinks. As such we are petitioning to have the regulation of these drinks in Canada as well as their labeling be revised.
