62. Stop Horse Slaughter In Canada
January 20, 2006
Help STOP horse slaughter in Canada please read then Sign your name...
Horses are known and loved throughout our country for many, varied reasons. Horses are considered by some to be symbols of the wild west; to others they are noble, kind animals to ride and admire, Olympic partners, therapeutic riding mounts, and the creatures who provided them with fond memories of summer camp, dude ranches and vacation trail rides. Horses are all this to Canadians and for these reasons and more, we do not eat horses in Canada!
Over 70,000 American live horses and ponies are slaughtered inhumanely every year in the Canada each year, their meat marketed overseas fetching a high price, in countries like France and Belgium. The vast majority of Canadians do not approve of horse slaughter, yet it is still a little known fact that horses are killed for human consumption but when people learn this, they say "no more killing." We have the opportunity to end this tragic and needless brutality now.
This bill would end horse slaughter for food, including exporting both the flesh and live horses. Canadian horses are treasured pets and working companions. They should NOT be on anyone's menu. Foreigners are not entitled to eat our horses and ponies. There are plenty of alternatives for horses whose owners cannot or will not keep them. There are also many alternative and humane endings for these horses. It is the right thing to do. We are waiting.
If you would like to take charge yourself here are some...
Tips for Writing to Members of Congress
It should be no more than one page, preferably two to three short paragraphs. In the first sentence of the first paragraph identify the issue or bill number and whether you want your legislator to support or oppose it. Next, briefly describe why you want them to take this action. Lengthy letters with indirect messages are less likely to be read.
In a hurry?
Hand-written postcards are just as useful as letters. They can simply read: "Dear Representative __________: I urge you to support and cosponsor H.R. 1581. This bill would ban cruel steel-jawed leghold traps which injure and kill wildlife and family pets."
Facts about horse slaughter...
*Last year three foreign-owned slaughter plants cruelly slaughtered more than 65,000 horses for human consumption in Europe and Asia. Tens of thousands more of Canada's horses were exported and slaughtered in other countries.
* Slaughter is NOT humane euthanasia. Horses suffer horribly on the way to and during slaughter.
* 92.3 percent of horses arriving at slaughter plants in this country are in "good" condition.
* The average cost of having a horse
humanely euthanized and safely disposing of the animal's carcass is approximately $225, while
the average monthly cost of keeping a horse is approximately $200.
January 14, 2006
Hi, I got started in Horse Slaughter Stopping in 2005, some of my friends have horses, and if I could i would own a ranch hosting retirment homes for horses.
One day i was on a site i like and i saw stop the horse slaughter signs. I was wondering about horse slaughter since then so these are the facts i learned:
*Horse Slaughter in America is Ran by foreign-people.
*Scared, and confused horses are cramed together in Double Decker Trucks and often are hurt, died, knocked out or, Severaly hurt, when they arive at a slaughter house.
*About 90,000 horses are killed each year to feed people in Asia, France, Belgium, Holland, Japan, and Italy.
*The horses are killed when they are knoked out, if they are not the shoot a medal rod into their Brain, and then slice open there neck!
My last fact is All horses, every shape, breed, age are sent to the slaughter house usualy after they are bought at a horse Auction, most horses that are slaughter are Lame, ill, surplus at riding schools, failing racehorses, mares whos foals aren't econmicaly valuble, Ponys, Mules, and Donkeys!
64. End Horse Slaughter FOREVER!
January 13, 2006
Please Sign for the sake of horses!
This is a petition that is for those who DON'T believe in horse slaughter!
65. Save the horses and stop horse slaughter
Hello everyone!
I don't know how many of you know about horse slaughter, but it is a truly evil thing. Horses are killed painfully while they are terrified, starved, and just miserable.
People have been doing this for years, and it needs to stop. Approxomately 82,043 horses have been killed this way this year in those cruel slaughterhouses.
I would really appreciate it if you could sign this petition and help the fight to stop slaughter. Thank you!
66. Stop Cruelty & Abolish Horse Slaughter
I'm tired of seeing the cruelty of horse slaughter.
67. Stop the Slaughter, End the Pain
Horse Slaughter is wrong!! If you sign this petition than you are helping save one innocent horse from being on somesones plate.
Just one horse makes a difference, let's save them all! Saving the world, one horse at a time!
68. Stop cruel chicken slaughter
This petition was created on june 14, 2005. It is supposed to help show people how cruel and cold hearted kfc is.
Chickens raised for KFC are taken away from their families and stuffed into sheds with tens of thousands of other birds. (Think of how scared you'd be if you were locked inside a crowded room with thousands of people you didn't know!) The birds aren't allowed any fresh air or sunshine, and they can barely move (each chicken has to make do with a space smaller than one sheet of notebook paper).
Once they're fattened up, the birds are thrown into tiny crates and trucked to the slaughterhouse. Some chickens fall off the trucks and are left to die alongside the road. The frightened birds who make it to the slaughterhouse are killed when they are just 6 weeks oldstill babies!
Chickens are probably the most abused animals on the face of the planet. They suffer any number of cruelties, including being left by the hundreds of thousands to starve to death, having their sensitive beaks seared off with hot blades, being crammed 11 birds to a tiny cage along with the decomposing corpses of other chickens, and dying in huge numbers from long journeys in extreme weather conditions.
Basically, any and all abuse is allowable when it comes to chickens, who are, in fact, remarkable animals with distinct personalities and intelligence that, if allowed to develop, is as advanced as that of cats and dogs. Most importantly, they feel pain, just as we do.Animals Routinely Sliced Open and Scalded While Still Conscious.
At slaughter, chickens are dumped from cages like so many rubber balls and then SNAPPED by their weakened and sometimes broken legs into metal shackles before their heads are passed through an electrically charged water bath that immobilizes them but often does not render them unconscious.
The workers who hang the animals must work so quickly (assembly-line style) that animals are frequently injured. When the water "baths" are set below the level required to kill them, as they often are, the animals (unless they have died from stress and abuse before they're even shackled) are alive, conscious, and bleeding to death after their throats are slit, and they enter the scalding tank ( scalding hot water for feather removal) still conscious.
Many of them flap about and thus miss both the immobilization bath and the automated and manual (human) neck-slicers and are still completely conscious when they are scalded to death.
69. End horse slaughter in illinois
This petition is to try to end horse slaughter in IL.
The method by which horses are slaughtered is cruel and inhumane and cannot be regulated to be humane. Dogs and cats are protected against slaughter and export to countries where their meat is eaten. Horses deserve this protection also.
According to the USDA, the two slaughter plants in Texas killed 49,235 horses in 2003 for human consumption and about twenty thousand horses were transported to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. Together, these numbers represent about 1% of the total number of horses in the U.S., and the entire industry is only .001% the size of the U.S. meat industry. It is entirely foreign owned, and pays no corporate taxes or export tariffs. The horse slaughter industry is economically insignificant.
According to 2001 field studies conducted by Temple Grandin, 70% of all horses at the slaughter plant were in good, fat, or obese condition; 72% were considered to be "sound" of limb; 84% were of average age; and 96% had no behavioral issues. Slaughter plants do not want old, sick horses for obvious reasons. It is currently legal to transport horses in low clearance double-decker cattle trailers; legal to transport horses more than 24 hours without food, water or rest; and legal to transport horses without separating the stallions from the mares and foals. Approximately 30% of horses are injured from fighting and transportation.
According to federal law, horses must be rendered unconscious prior to slaughter, usually by captive bolt. However, some are improperly stunned, even with repeated blows, and are still conscious when shackled, hoisted by a rear leg, and cut across the throat. The USDA specifies that 10% live vivisection is acceptable! With their long necks and aversion to anything approaching their foreheads, many horses require multiple strikes.
The annual number of horses slaughtered in the US dropped from over 300,000 in the 1990s to less than 50,000 in 2003, with no special infrastructure needed to absorb the thousands of "unwanted" horses that were not slaughtered. Horses are being kept longer, sold to others, humanely euthanized, or donated to retirement and rescue facilities. The "surplus horse population" is a myth.
70. Stop The Slaughter Of Wild Mustangs
Thousands of wild mustangs are being slaughtered. Please sign this petition to try and help stop the slaughter of the wild mustangs. These beautiful animals do nothing to harm us, so why should we harm them?
This petition is to help stop the slaughtering of horses. There are only a few places in the United States that slaughter horses. Even though its a few I still think it is wrong and shouldn't be allowed.
Also to ship horses to slaughter houses in Canada or overseas is wrong. Please help by signing this, I hope you feel the way I feel about horse slaughter.
This Horse slaughter has to stop! Its cruel and sick sign now. Not convinced? Then go to my site http://www.freewebs.com/nomoreslaughterthank you!
73. Boycott Wet Seal
Hundreds of millions of rabbits are slaughtered for their fur and
flesh every year. Like other animals who are "farmed" for their fur,
rabbits are kept in tiny, filthy cages, where they are surrounded by
their own waste. They spend their entire miserable lives standing on the
thin wires of their cage floor and are never given a chance to dig, jump,
or play. The methods of slaughter are inhumanefur farmers snap rabbits'
necks or smash their skulls before stringing them up by their legs and
cutting off their heads.
Wet Seal still sells rabbit fur, but you can help convince it to stop.
74. Demand the Philippines Government enforce their Laws banning the eating of dogs
In 1998 the Philippines Government passed an Act banning the slaughter and human consumption. Visit http://sirius.2kat to view said Animal Welfare Act. There is comprehensive detailed information on the above site detailing the atrocities and abject cruelty dogs in the Philippines are having to undergo.
The trade in dog meat must be banned now and the Animal Welfare Act enforced. Dogs are usually sold at markets while still alive, their front limbs dislocated and tied painfully behind their backs and a jagged tin can rammed over their jaws to make them easier to handle. All in blatant disregard of a law that carries a minimal penalty which the police do not bother to even try to enforce.
Let us put an end to this cruelty and allow dogs the dignity and humanity to live alongside of us as our devoted companions as is their right. No dog shall be in the human food chain!
75. End Horse Slaughter in Canada Now
Many people are unaware of what goes on inside the slaughter house. The Paragraphs that follow may be disturbing to some readers, so if you are weak of stomach then I suggest you stop here.
During transport Horses are crammed into trailers which are usually meant for pigs and cattle, most of which have two levels. These horses do not have enough room to hold thir heads as they normally would. Frightened horses often trample oneanother as well. During these trips, horses are neither fed nor watered nor excercised.
Once they have finally reached their destination, horses can smell death in the air. You can probably just immagine how they must feel by this point.
When each horse's time comes they are lowered by their hind legs down a chute which is referred to as the "kill box." First, a spike is swiftly driven through the top of the skull and into the brain. very seldom does this kill the horse, it just paralyzes them. Then, the throat is slit and they are hung to bleed. The horse usually does not die for an agonizing ten minutes. After what they have been through to get there, at this point it's a blessing. The horses are then dropped onto a conveyer belt and cut into peices.
Hundreds of thousands of horses are sent off to the "packer's" each year. Horses are here as companion animals and were never intended for this purpose. The manner in which these animals are killed is extremely barbaric and inhumane. Horses end up in slaughter for several different reasons. The most common reason for horses ending up in slaughter houses are race tracks.
Most race horses are roughly the age of two, the yearling stage. At this early stage in their lives their bones have not yet been fully developed. When ridden or pushed too hard, injuries will most likely leave the horse rendered unsound and permanently dammaged.
Sometimes these race horses have nothing wrong with them but are just too slow or are not living up to the owner's expectations. Owners feel that they do not have the time to find a buyer other than the meat market. What a waste.
Another common reason for horses ending up here are auctions. Sometimes horse owners figure they can make a quick few bucks by auctioning off their horses, but this is a huge gamble. More often then not horses end up with the wrong buyers.
If an owner really cares enough for their horse they will take the time to ensure that they find a buyer with good intentions. Even if there is nothing else which can be done, horses should be euthanized rather than die a slow and painful death. We owe them this.
Horses have been giving us their loyalty and respect since our earliest days on this planet. Is this how we repay them? My goal is to put an end to this all over the world, starting here in Canada. Horses are not food. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

76. Stop Horse Slaughter in the U.K.
I have created this petition to make the slaughter of horses illegal in the UK. Most horses destined for slaughter are sold at livestock auctions or sales. The cruelty of horse slaughter is not limited to the act of killing the animals. Horses bound for slaughter are shipped, frequently for long distances, in a manner that fails to accommodate their unique temperaments. They are usually not rested, fed, or watered during travel.
Economics, not humane considerations, dictate the conditions, including crowding as many horses into trucks as possible.
Often, terrified horses and ponies are crammed together and transported to slaughter in double-deck trucks designed for cattle and pigs. The truck ceilings are so low that the horses are not able to hold their heads in a normal, balanced position. Inappropriate floor surfaces lead to slips and falls, and sometimes even trampling.
Some horses arrive at the slaughterhouse seriously injured or dead. Although transportation accidents have largely escaped public scrutiny, several tragic ones involving collapsed upper floors and overturned double-deckers have caused human fatalities as well as suffering and death for the horses.
Before slaughter horses are supposed to be rendered unconscious prior to slaughter, usually with a device called a captive bolt gun, which shoots a metal rod into the horse's brain. Some horses, however, are improperly stunned and may still be conscious when they are hoisted by a rear leg to have their throats cut. In addition, conditions in the slaughterhouse are stressful and frightening for horses.
Horses of virtually all ages and breeds are slaughtered, from draft types to miniatures. Horses commonly slaughtered include unsuccessful race horses, horses who are lame or ill, surplus riding school and camp horses, mares whose foals are not economically valuable, and foals who are "byproducts" of the Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) industry, which produces the estrogen-replacement drug Premarin®. Ponies, mules, and donkeys are slaughtered as well.
Many of the horses that are purchased for slaughter were in good health, and bought for only a few hundred pounds.
The owners are often totally unaware of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.
Horses are slaughtered every day!!! The way horses are killed is cruel and inhumane! They are transported by huge trucks or cattle trucks that aren't fit for the horses at all. They are transported in large groups mares, foals, stallions, geldings. They are usually not given food or water on their journey or even when they arrive. Some are dead on arrival others are on the verge of dying.
The others are moved into large pens where they wait to be 'stunned' when a metal rod is shot through their head, paralyzing them. Then they get thrown down a shoot and into the 'kill box'. Where they are hung upside-down by their hind legs and their throats are cut. THEY LET THE HORSES SUFFER BY BLEEDING TO DEATH!!!!!! Any horse can go to slaughter even the most beautiful healthy horse or the youngest foal.
78. End Horse Slaughter, Animal Cruelty is Against the Law.
Horse slaughter is a cruel way of sending a horse to death. Animal Cruelty is against the law in most states here in the United States. So why isn't horse slaughter against the law?
Horse slaughter takes horses away from owners, being it a girl's pony, a show champion, even our wild horses. They get starved, which is cruelty, and then killed. It just isn't right to end a horse's life that way, just for possibly becoming lame.
Every day horses are slaughtered in slaughter houses. The way they are killed in very inhumane and painful for the horse. They are transported in large groups sometimes in double-decker cattle trucks and have to wait there sometimes for over 24 hours without food water or rest. Some are dead on arrival. The others are herded into pens where they await `stunning` where metal rods are shot through the horse's head and into their brain, which paralises them. They are then thrown into the `kill box` they are then hung up-side-down by one back leg and thier throats are cut.
The horse feels everything and bleeds to death. Any horse will go to slaughter, even pregnant mares and foals. This is disgusting and MUST be stopped.
80. Putting an end to horse slaughter
Whenever I go to my granmother's house I see a slaughter house, I cry everytime I pass it. I'm doing everything I can to stop slaughter as a 13 year old. I hope when I'm older I can actualy stop real slaughter houses. Please help fight horse slaughter. That horse could have been a best friend to a lonely child.
The United States once granted horses a wish and they felt that horses were the future of the country. So we must stop horse slaughter!
82. Save Our Wild and Domesticated Horses
Did you know that (as of 6/98) BLM "official" figures show that there are only about 42,000 wild horses and burros (approximately 35,000 horses & 7,000 burros) left on public lands (in 10 western states - confined by law to Herd Management Allotments or "HMA's")? However, HorseAid places this figure much lower (see our "BLM Report Card", below for more information).
The Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971 (the "Wild Horse Annie Act") declared that wild free-roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West (in essence, an American "heritage"), and require protection under U.S. Federal law ("Congress finds and declares that wild free-roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West; that they contribute to the diversity of lifeforms within the nation and enrich the lives of the American people." -- December 15, 1971 Congressional Declaration). Yet, there are currently less wild horses and burros on public lands in the Western states (their traditional ancestral range) than there were in 1971, when the Act was passed (approximately 172,000 horses and burros have been "adopted" since the adoption program was initiated).
The Bureau of Land Management is responsible for the protection of these animals, and yet, sadly and tragically, it may be this same agency which is responsible for their "fast disappearing from the American West". By revising policy at will, and circumventing the law when it suits them, some individuals within the Bureau of Land Management are bringing about the total destruction of this great American heritage largely in the interest of, and for, personal gain or to save the "integrity" of the agency itself Criminal investigations by several Bureau of Land Management law enforcement agents that would have exposed illegal activity in the Wild Horse and Burro Program, have been obstructed by numerous BLM managers and employees. If something is not done, and done soon -- we stand a very good chance of forever losing this "living symbol of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West".
A reporter chased the perennial allegations of BLM malfeasance by tracing paper trails, something animal advocates have not done on any comparable scale. "Using freeze-brand numbers and computer records," "the AP traced more than 57 former BLM horses sold to slaughterhouses since September. Eighty percent were less than 10 years old and 25% were less than five years old." "The AP matched computer records of horse adoptions with a computerized list of federal employees and found that more than 200 current BLM employees have adopted more than 600 wild horses and burros." Mendoza got some eye-popping quotes, too. "Asked about the AP's findings," she wrote, It is conceded that about 90% of the horses rounded up go to slaughter."
"Using the BLM's computerized records maintained in Denver and obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, the AP found that 32,774 of all adopted horses and burros--20%--remain untitled. Legally, they are still federal property." The 57 wild horses sold to slaughter in approximately four months was not a greater number than go to slaughter from many individual riding stables, racetracks, and ranches. That 90% of the BLM horses eventually go to slaughter, would just reflect the fate of most horses from any source who go to auction. "While it is common for old or lame horses to go to slaughter," "nearly all former BLM horses sent to slaughter are young and healthy."
Yet dozens of horse rescue groups from coast to coast stay busy buying and adopting out other young, healthy horses they find at slaughter auctions. The fact is, horse overpopulation seems to be as much a reality as pet overpopulation, and although many people are willing to adopt a horse for a while, most quickly find themselves unable to keep up with the ongoing costs and demand on time. Wild horses, precisely because they are wild, require particular effort to turn into good riding steeds. Since federal budget cuts killed most of the prison-based projects that formerly either "gentled" or "broke" wild horses to saddle, the horses available for adoption have been more problematic, less suitable for the average rider. They can't compete with abundant ready-to-ride horses from domestic oversupply, even at the BLM adoption price of $125, 11% of the average cost to the government of rounding up, vaccinating, freezebranding, and adopting out a wild horse.
Adopters "can get lame or old horses for as little as $25, or even for free," , referring to the fee-waiver program the BLM uses to rid itself of horses nobody wants. "After holding the horses for a year, the adopters are free to sell them for slaughter, typically receiving $700 per animal. The government spends $1,100. The adopter can make $575 or more."
____________________________________________________________________________
In other news...Nine young mares that survived the barren deserts of the West died of stress induced by their capture and a 1,000-mile truck ride to Colorado.
The horses died of "capture myopathy,'' a condition in wild animals triggered by anxiety of capture, according to test results released Tuesday by the Bureau of Land Management.
Forty mares and 10 studs were loaded into a truck Feb. 17 (1998) at the BLM's center in Palomino Valley north of here for the 24-hour trip to a similar facility south of Denver.
Nine horses arrived showing signs of distress. None survived.
Handling of the animals is a topic being addressed by a new advisory board looking into issues surrounding the estimated 44,000 wild horses and burros that roam free across 11 Western states.
"The advisory board will be looking into ways to minimize stress, whether on the range, during gathers or as they move through the adopt-a-horse program,'' said Robin Lohnes, a board member and the executive director of the American Horse Protection Association in Washington, D.C.
The 26-year-old adoption program was intended by Congress to reduce the number of animals competing with ranchers' cattle for scant forage on federal lands. Horses are rounded up into corrals and put up for adoption.
The establishment of the advisory panel followed reports last year by The Associated Press that thousands of animals adopted through a federal program were sold for slaughter with BLM employees among those who profited.
The AP also reported that the BLM lost track of about 32,000 adopted animals and that agency officials gave false information to Congress.

People need to be aware and more responsible for the heritage that is being killed. Our goverments need to make an amendment to protect not just the wild horses, but all of our horses, before it is too late. Horses are always going to be here, if we take care of them. Besides, who can not smile when they see horses grazing peacfully in a rolling green pasture? If we don't do something now, that sight will only be a fading memory.
Please sign this petition. It will get send to our governments in hope they will write and pass an amendment that will protect our wild horses. Also send this petition to your friends and let's see how many signatures we can get. Anyone interested in helping me, contact me, the author, and let's make history!
"...so that all horses and ponies may lead a
full and productive life, free from pain and abuse."
83. Ban Live Animal Exports from New Zealand
This is a petition created to urge the New Zealand government to ban live animal exports.
In light of the disaster that befell 57,000 Australian sheep aboard the Cormo Express earlier this year, this trade has got to stop.
The Green Party and myself have put together this petition to present to Parliament. We want as many signatures as possible from people all over the world.
The picture that I have added with this petition was kindly supplied by People Against Cruelty in Animal Transport (PACAT).
84. End horse slaughter in Canada
We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the house to the following:
THAT hundreds of thousands of work horses and foals have been slaughtered for food in order to be sold as gourmet meat in foreign markets; and
THAT in 1998 alone, approximately 23 152 American horses were transported to Canada and killed for human consumption; and
THAT horses are companion animals, they are not raised for food and are taxed differently than food animals; and
THAT slaughtered horses come from a variety of places, receiving a variety of veterinarian care and drugs throughout their lives, unlike animals that are raised for meat; and
THAT the horse has been an important figure in the history of Canada and our Royal Canadian Mounted Police force; and
THAT in 1999, approximately 62 351 horses were slaughtered in Canada; and
THAT the state of California has already passed Proposal 6, known as The Prohibition of Horse Slaughter and Sale of Horse meat for Human Consumption Act of 1998:
THEREFORE we the undersigned, your petitioners call upon Parliament to enact legislation against the slaughter of horses and sale of horse meat for human consumption.

85. End Live Animal Exports from Australia
June 26, 2003
While death and suffering has been endemic throughout the history of the live export industry, Australia's relentless drive to expand its market for 'live exports' has resulted in a corresponding increase in casualties associated with the long-haul overseas trade in live cattle over the past 7 years.
With the resumption of the live sheep trade with Saudi Arabia in 2000, there are now even larger numbers being exported to the Middle East.
After the stress of transportation, all the surviving cattle and sheep face death on foreign soil, many into countries which have no animal welfare laws or, at best, inadequate laws.
They will usually be killed without pre-stunning and often even without adequate restraint facilities. Animals Australia has eye-witness harrowing accounts of slaughter facilities and methods.
The result is inherent and persistent suffering.
86. Stop the Texas Slaughter of Horses to be Sold as Delicacies in France, Belgium, Germany and Japan
Texas House Bill 1324 introduced by Rep. Betty Brown (R-Kaufman) has passed the House vote and, if passed in the Texas Senate, will make legal the slaughter of horses for human consumption in foreign countries.
There are two slaughterhouses in Texas: The Beltex in Fort Worth is owned by a Belgium company and the Dallas Crown in Kaufman, by a French company. All profits from horse slaughter in Texas go to those companies.
In 2002 over 42,000 healthy horses were inhumanely transported and inhumanely killed to provided *delicacies* abroad.
Texans have not only a long and rich history with horses but continue to enjoy a working, recreational, and caring relationship with horses.
How can we, in this great state, allow such irresponsible, unethical, immoral treatment of a creature who has provided us with immeasurable benefits.
Do we as human beings owe our anumals such treatment. What in the world are our legislators thinking!
Please join us on May 9 in Austin to protest the signing of this bill into law.
Please sign this petition to present to State Senator Steve Ogden by May 5, 2003 to protest this despicable bill.
87. Stop Slaughter and Animal Abuses in Romania!
Due to the lack of law for animal protection in Romania anyone can kill an animal without being punished.
Protected by this lack, people without conscience, without pity, more without respect, with cruelty hard to be imagined, are killing animals of any kind, without a particular reason.
For many months, the slaughter of homeless dogs from Romania has brought many tears to animals lovers.
Poachers without pity killed a hundred dolphins in few days in the Black Sea.
The abuses against animals of anykind, the exploitation of wild animals at Black sea are a few exemples of atrocities from Romania, due to the lack of one law for animal protection in our country.
Who will punish the sick minds that are killing hundred of thousands street dogs, when didn't break "any law"?
With your help, we hope to convince the Romanian Parliament to adopt new protective law NOW. This petition, along with your comments, will be sent to Romanian Government, Romanian Parliament, the Presidency of Romania.

88. SAVE THE COWS-EAT MORE LETTUCE
I love cows, and I oppose the slaughter of them. In fact, I oppose the slaughter of any animal, and I wish it would stop.
After being brought to slaughter, they stun the animal, slit it's throat, and shackle it up by its hind leg to leave it to die. This is utterly and completely cruel. I wouldn't do this petition if slaughterhouses killed the animal completely so the animal felt no pain, but the way they do it is awful.
My mother once told me that nothing is impossible, and everything can be achieved if you work towards it.
We have the support of stars like ORLANDO BLOOM, who plays Legolas in the Lord of the Rings movies. If you really love animals, then don't eat them...help save the cows!
89. Stop Horse Slaughter in Canada and US
We must stop the killing of horses! We as humans are the only ones who can succed in doing so. I hope you will sign to help save horses all around the world!!! Please look at the website for a more in depth discription on the sitation.
90. STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER!! PLEASE HELP!
HORSE SLAUGHTER IS A CRUEL WAY TO TREAT THE HORSES THAT INHABITAT THIS EARTH! WE AS HUMANS SHOULD HELP THE HORSES THAT HAVE NO SAY IN WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM AND PROTECT THEM! PLEASE HELP!
