2. Change the music in Stop & Shop Supermarkets
Any regular customer to there local Stop & Shop or employee can tell you about the music that plays in these supermarkets. They will agree that the music choices this company decides on to play in there stores is horrendous.
I have heard comments such as "all they play is depressing music about breaking up or heartache" or "it seems as though they picked the worst songs from every decade."
This petition was made so Stop & Shop will change the music they play in there stores to more up to date music. Music that customers/employees would enjoy hearing.

4. Improve Online Recommendations and Feedback
A majority of Americans rely on ratings, user reviews, recommendations and written comments to make smarter decisions.
Often it is a time consuming and frustrating process to read long-form comments to understand the views of others.
Our Company has a patent for a new system to gather online feedback that makes it easier for consumers to contribute feedback and for businesses and consumers to understand that feedback in just a few seconds.

6. Stop James Bulger's Killers being free to do as they like
James Bulger was just 2 years old when out shopping with his mummy he toddled off as all children do for just one minute. Two ten year old boys who had been playing truant were waiting in the shopping centre for a little victim. They took James off by the hand and was caught on CCTV. When his mother had realised James was gone they were already on there way out of the strand shopping centre leading little James by the hand.Along with many people who saw James that day over the time it took them to walk the little toddler two miles. They stopped now and again to kick him or punch him to stop him from crying for his mummy.
After they found a disused railway line which they must have been well aware existed were no one would see them.James was undressed, paint put into his eyes trousers and bottom clothing removed sexually assaulted with batteries. And then had large stones and bricks thrown at his head. When the toddler didn't die they hit him over and over with a cast Iron bar.And then laid him on the railway line so evil to make it look like an accident. They even weighed down the little boy with bricks on the track.James was found two days later by a young teenager. His small undressed body was cut in half.
His two killers aged ten at the time have since been released. Jame's family has been let down by the justice system so much. Now one of Jame's killers has broken one release rule by doing another crime!should he have been out in the first place?what they did was planned and they knew exactly that the little boy should die.Do you want this scum on a street near your child or grand son? put them back away now please help with this petition.
7. Support our Small Shops and Stall Holders
I have lived in South Bermondsey for 11 years and in the area for over 22 years, and since being in the area The Blue, which was once a great shopping area, I have seen it go down hill. The small shops and stall owners, as well as the residents, have been suffocated by the obvious lack of care shown to businesses and the people they serve. Just because the Liberal Democrats feel they will always win South Bermondsey in an election doesn’t mean they should neglect it as the Labour party did - but they have!
A few months before Christmas the council, yet again, made promises to make changes, which are no more than a coat of paint when more radical steps must be taken; this simply isn't good enough. I would also question the timing as there is an election coming up.
There is such a thing as people power and I'd like to gather support from local businesses and local residents to put the council under pressure to make meaningful changes and not just meaningless gestures. Please support the campaign which, if successful, will benefit residents and businesses alike.
8. Support a Bus Link to Frampton Road, Hounslow Heath
We, the residents living in the area around Frampton Road, Hounslow, call upon Transport for London to provide a bus link to our area with a regular bus service being provided along the length of Frampton Road.
Residents currently have a lengthy walk to the nearest bus stop, and many families are dependent on public transport to provide access to work, school, shopping, health facilities and leisure activities.
9. Stop South Australian Restricted Trading
We draw your attention to the current restricted shopping hours in metropolitan and regional South Australia. As governed by ‘The Shop Trading Hours Act 1977’, retail shopping hours are limited on Public Holidays, and set days of the year;
(6) Subject to this section, shops in shopping districts (other than shops within the ambit
of subsection (5e)) must be closed—
(a) on 1 January, Easter Sunday, 25 December and 26 December in any year; and
(b) on all other days that are public holidays in any year.
It is a consensus of the undersigned that the closure of stores on these prescribed days is a disadvantage to the South Australian Economy, as well as consumers and traders alike. It has been noted by members of parliament and other professional bodies throughout South Australia, that the limited opening hours for stores in South Australia is cause for concern and potentially robs local business of revenue from both tourists and residents, creates confusion among consumers and minimises access to wages and jobs that would have been otherwise earned.
10. Tesco - Bring back proper carrier bags
In recent months, presumably in response to rising costs and an effort to reduce plastic waste, Tesco has significantly reduced the thickness of their (free) carrier bags. How significantly, well enough to mean that when filled, they frequently split and dump the contents onto the ground. Not good when it's delicate, perishable foodstuffs.
As a consequence, many customers "double bag" their shopping, or use more bags with fewer items. Either immediately negate any savings or environmental benefits.
This petition is to raise pressure on Tesco to return to more practical carrier bags. It is not a call to introduce charging as some of their competitors have done. It gives Tesco an opportunity to draw a distinction against other retailers, by giving customers what they have previously had.
I would like to petition Tesco to stop the use of television screens showing Sky News in store.
Customers using the store are being bombarded with negative news whilst attempting to do their shopping.
I propose that instead Tesco play pleasant and relaxing music/programming in store rather than adding to people's worries by running news stories loudly in shops which often show death and destruction.
12. Hot Topic Needs to Hand Out Complimentary Ear Plugs
This is for all of us who have to go with our girlfriends/partners into Hot Topic, or a similar store, every time we end up at the mall.
Perhaps some of us don't want to listen to some moron screaming something that is incredibly pseudo-poignant or is trying too hard to be offensive to a certain social or religious group.
Maybe we don't want that crap stuck in our heads for the rest of the week. Maybe we would rather damage our hearing a little at a concert of music that isn't awful, instead of sacrificing the health of our eardrums to the garbage that's being played in a store you were dragged into to look at "Hello Kitty" shirts.
13. Help Greenwood SC Get More Shopping
I am writing to the Greenwood SC residents and surrounding areas to petition more shopping for Greenwood SC. Greenwood is growing in many areas including population, neighborhoods, and companies. But the one thing that Greenwood is very much in need of is shopping and department stores.
I can't tell you the number of times I hear people of Greenwood SC and surrounding areas complaining of not having anywhere to shop for clothing, shoes, toys for kids, crafts/cake supplies, fabrics, home decor, and the list goes on and on. We have Walmart and KMart as our two largest stores and the mall is a disgrace to our town. We had more back in the 1980's than we do now.
In the 1980's we had a decent mall and more shopping than we do today. Gas is so expensive these days it is ashame we have to travel at least an hour away to get the things we need. When you do go try to find something it is impossible to find what you need and people are then forced to go out of town to shop.
I drive through towns smaller than Greenwood and it is amazing to me when I see shopping and department stores being newly built. It saddens me that Greenwood can not take this in consideration and make some changes that we are in desperate need of.
14. To bring Neiman Marcus to New Orleans
New Orleans is a wonderful city with lots of charm. We are not a poor city and want more upscale shopping opportunities.
15. Reduce KLCC Parking Rates!
It is intended to ask the KLCC Management to revise their current parking rate, and to show to them that many concerned members of the public are aware and agree that the current rate is just too expensive, if not unreasonable.
16. Open Block House Drive Petition
Dear BHC Residents,
As many of you know, Block House Creek needs another entrance/exit to our neighborhood. Currently, there is a petition online to open Scottsdale Drive as a solution and we are adding Block House Drive as the solution.
On May 27th, the Blockhouse Creek MUD Board approved a resolution to be sent to the City of Cedar Park and Williamson County offices, to open Block House Drive to 183-A, as another exit/entrance as they would keep it a private road for BHC residents (unfortunately, this isn't enough and it is why we have this online petition for the residents of BHC to voice their desires).
We believe, Block House Drive South is the most logical solution, because it does not compromise the safety of BHC children and/or disturb the peace of our neighborhood. It is why most of us purchased a home in BHC. Scottsdale is probably the quickest solution but unfortunately it compromises what many of us believe in (indirectly or directly). Scottsdale opens up to driveways, neighborhood children and potential disaster. We understand that Block House Drive may take some time to open up but it is the best solution for EVERYONE in the neighborhood. There are no houses that face the road, only fences and the safety of BHC children is not compromised and the peace in the neighborhood is sustained. It's the perfect solution.
We are asking you to join fellow BHC neighbors by signing this online petition.
**NOTE** IT IS IMPORTANT AFTER YOU SIGN THE PETITION TO PLEASE LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD TO THE CTRMA ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS ISSUE: EMAIL: INFO@CTRMA.ORG THEY WANT YOUR EMAILS ABOUT THIS. ALSO, MAKE A CALL TO CYNTHIA LONGS OFFICE AT 260-4280 - YOUR CALL WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ***********
The main points for opening the road are:
Traffic congestion in front of the elementary school, traffic backups on Creek Run, Blockhouse Dr. to New Hope. Our children walking to school need to be safe!
Emergency vehicles do not have a clear route to the back part of the neighborhood. In case of an emergency they need a quicker route to us!!
Quicker access to the new Hospital/Medical Center being built.
In case of an emergency evacuation, residents should have more exits than we currently do.
The city of Cedar Park has a proposed fire and EMS station at the corner of New Hope and 183-A.
When the commuter train begins, the RR Track will be extremely busy. Traffic will become backed up on BHC and New Hope during rush hour.
Environmental concerns because of the extra mileage we have to drive to get to our destinations.
The routes we do have to travel take us by school zones, and thru other neighborhoods.
There is no evidence that crime increases because of more access to neighborhoods.
Easier access for the new shopping centers, potential buyers will not move here if they realize how difficult it is to get to the shopping/hospitals.
There are not enough exits/entrances for our 2200 residents!!
For generations of people, Shawlands has been a major shopping centre in the southside of Glasgow: we want it to stay that way.
Over the last 18 months, the G41 community newspaper has run lots of stories where people have expressed their fears about the future of Shawlands.
The same questions come up over and over again:
- What's going to happen to the Shawlands Arcade?
- What effect will the massive Silverburn shopping centre in Pollok have on the area?
- How can traders cope with increasing rents?
- Why are so many shops closing?
- What can be done to improve transport and parking?
- How can Shawlands be made more attractive?
- Should part of the area be pedestrianised?
- How can Shawlands be made safer at evenings and weekends?
- What can be done about the state of roads and pavements?
Shawlands & Strathbungo Community Council has been talking about these issues for a while and had plans to carry out a community survey to find out what local people and traders would like to see happen in the area.
The community council has to be applauded for raising the idea - but with the best will in the world, it's too big a job for a voluntary body to take on.
That's why G41 is now calling on the local Community Planning Partnership and Glasgow City Council to take up the issue.
18. Save Wal-Mart's Fabric Department at Jacksonville, Florida
While shopping on Thursday, December 21, 2006 in our local Walmart Store located at 6830 Normandy Blvd, in Jacksonville, Florida, 32205, in their fabric department, I commented to one of the employees that I was so grateful and glad that Walmart provided such an affordable and well-stocked fabric department.
I was informed that soon after the 1'st of the year (2007) the fabric department was being closed. Dismayed and extremely upset, I spoke with the Assistant Manager on duty that day, and he verified that they had just received notification of the pending closure.
UPDATE: JANUARY 7, 2007
While shopping in the latter part of December, at the Yulee, Florida Walmart Super Center, located just outside of Fernandina Beach, Florida, we were informed by an employee that parties in the fabric department had been given information that a large number of pending closures/substanitial changes were coming to Walmart fabric departments across the country. This information did not come from a store manager and therefore could be construed as unreliable and hearsay. The only reason that we're passing it along is because in the event that it IS true, we feel it's valuable information with regard to our petition.
19. No More shopping malls in India
June 3, 2006
The cost of living is increasing day by day.
Education fees, medical fees, house maintainance bills etc are becoming difficult to pay.
Due to privatization of sectors, only a handful of people have the power of production in their hand. We don't need more shopping malls, coffee shops, discotheques & other such luxurious outlets.
We need more public toilets, dustbins on the street, trees, farm lands and an agricultural India.
20. Bike Rack Law
Our bikes were stolen while we were shopping at a local CVS pharmacy on a strip shopping center.
We want strip centers to have mandatory bicycle racks outside of their stores.
21. Support Patterson Crossing Shopping Center
The Patterson Chamber of Commerce is requesting residents and business owners to support the development of a new shopping center located on Route 311, in Patterson, NY.
22. More Krispy Kreme stores in Australia!
There's only one krispy kreme store in Australia and its too hard to get to! We need stores in all the shopping centres!!
