1. Ongoing Guild Wars 2 Beta Servers

First public Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend event began on April 27 and finished April 29. During those three days, servers were stress tested, bugs were reported, poll forms were filled but most importantly - immense amounts of fun were had.

It's safe to say that this beta event was very successful - with minimal lag and fairly good optimization. Players enjoyed every aspect of the game, from PvE through PvP to WvWvW. This however, left most of the players speculating on the next Beta Event date, unable to enjoy the game they've prepurchased and already played.

It is understandable that opening servers again is not an easy task. However, current state of the beta, despite some content not implemented is more than enough to enjoy the game and we believe that ArenaNet could take that step for its loyal customers.

2. Guild Wars 2 Servers for African Continent

Guild Wars 2 features large scale combat in WvWvW where 3 servers/worlds are pitted against each other in a 2 week long battle with hundreds of players playing against each other at the same time, and also includes organized PvP for Clans and Guild looking to enter some serious competition as well as a fully persistent world.

Those features and the improvements in the graphics engine of the game will be detrimental to our enjoyment of the game since playing the original Guild Wars game we get an average ping of 300 - 500 ms delay. The upgraded graphics and sheer scale would most likely make the game unplayable for our community at large.

We normally connect to the UK/EU servers as they allow the best connection speed with the best latency. A set of servers hosted in South Africa would make it more accessible to a lot more people on the African continent and with the upgrades to our communications infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup held during 2010 the speeds and latency would be much better than connecting to international servers.

Therefore we request ArenaNet and/or NCSoft to give attention to our plea and make contact with one of the many fine ISP's or telecom providers in South Africa to negotiate the terms of setting up a server in South Africa at the Data Centres in Johannesburg and/or Cape Town.

3. Support New Aion Servers

* Server was inaccessible for a lot of Open Beta, very little has been done to prepare for Retail.

* Retail is released, servers have a 2000 Queue Limit.

* Players can't even join a queue for a server if it is persistently full.

* When you do enter the queue you are expected to wait for what can be hours.

* NCSoft are indirectly breaking laws set in place to preserve consumer's rights by delaying in producing more servers to handle the response from gamers.

*The Sales of Goods Act 1979:

Goods are of ‘Satisfactory quality’ if they reach the standard a reasonable person would expect taking into account the price and any description.

We've paid for the game, and are now unable to play I believe it's safe to say NCSoft has failed to make it's obligation to the consumers.

4. Stop the Garnishment of Tips to Pay Credit Card Fees

Amid a swirl of controversy, some restaurants, including Fishbone's, have scuttled plans to deduct portions of credit card processing fees from servers’ tips as a way to offset wage hikes and other increased operational costs that are squeezing profit margins. After a public outcry in 2008, Outback Steakhouse parent OSI Restaurant Partners, whose multibrand system includes 1,200 restaurants in 26 states, backed down from a plan to require servers to cover the proportion of charge card fees related to their gratuities.

Tampa, Fla.-based OSI, whose brands include Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Roy’s and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, had implemented the policy in January in Illinois and Arkansas. But when employees and customers complained, OSI dropped the deductions and promised to refund credit card processing fees already withheld from servers.

Restaurants typically pay credit card companies fees that can range from 1.5 percent to 3 percent of a transaction. The fees apply to the total tab, including tip, though some operators pass on to servers the percentage of the fee not related to the meal portion of the ticket. For example, if a meal tab is $100 and the tip is $20, an employer whose 3-percent fee would be $3.60 may withhold 60 cents–3 percent of the tip–from the server on that one transaction.

One Outback Steakhouse server told local media in Arkansas that the policy would cost her an estimated $800 a year if she worked five shifts a week. Customers who were made aware of the new policy were said to have jotted pointed objections to it on their credit card slips and then left their tips in cash.

OSI’s chief legal officer, Joseph Kadow, said the company first considered making the deductions because of escalating costs. “However, upon reflection, we realized this decision is inconsistent with our principles and beliefs,” Kadow said. “We will take care of our people and our customers, and the institution of OSI will take care of itself.”

Fishbone's has made no disclosure of this policy and that is what seems most unfair. Had employees been made aware of this policy, there would be no controversy.

6. Save Makaisson!

In a week or so, transfers will be enabled and encouraged from Makaisson to Burlok, Europe's only other Core RP server.

Many of us, the people of Makaisson, like our server fine. Our only issue was lack of scenarios, which could have been dealt with by fixing the parameters by which scenarios are launched, and a growing population.

Servers have to exist in pairs, because you cannot (and rightly so) have characters in both factions on a single server. That being the case, it is the height of foolishness to sacrifice one to save the other. BOTH must remain viable. Other server rulesets will be left 2 or more viable servers, but if the current plans go ahead, there will be only one viable Core RP server.

We hoped that over time our population would build up, especially once we got the the holiday season. We've seen an influx of new folks recently, but with the news of transfers, we are doomed to dwindle away to nothing. New players will not come to Makaisson if they see everyone being encouraged to transfer away.

GOA could have helped our server by running some of those RP events that they'd promised us. They could have helped us by launching the servers simultaneously, instead of three days apart. They could have enough respect for their players to consult us before pulling the plug.

If people are allowed to transfer off Makaisson to Burlok, Makaisson will become completely beyond hope of fixing. So what will be the point of Makaisson even existing?

Save Our Server! Please, GOA, do not kill our community. Give us a chance to grow.

7. World of Warcraft Servers for Austraia and NZ to be hosted in Australia

Are you sick of server reboots during our peek play times. Only cause it suits the US.

Why cant we have our own servers based in Australia?

We would have less lag and no longer have to have server reboots during peak playing times.

8. Applebee's Server

I have been a server for nearly six years, and have been working at Applebee's for nearly a year. Lately, I have been working during the day due to my school schedule. Recently we began talks about increasing the tip percentage to three percent instead of two as a way to complement the addition of the expeditor to the staff.

I am writing to request eliminating the extra percent tip-out for servers during the day. The extra percentage goes toward an expo, however, there is no expeditor during the day, or a dishwasher for that matter. So the day-time servers are tipping out for virtually nothing. While these servers work two extra jobs, plus prep work, they have to pay more for doing the same job. The other probem I identify with this increase is that at night the servers who work more are rewarded, and the servers who work less are vitually punished.

Hypothetically, if one server sells $1000 and one server sells $500, they tip out the same amount. It's a good deal for the server who sells $1000, but a poor deal for the server who only sells $500 (who really gets less for the tip-out because they work less).

9. Battlefield 2 EA Australia Server

The creators of EA/DICE's upcoming game Battlefield 2 have decided that the ranking system can only be used on official EA servers. Australian users will most likley get the blunt end of the stick again, and have to play on laggy US or UK servers.

So sign this petition to try and get EA games to create an EA Australia Battlefield 2 server.

Thank you

11. External IT access facilities, Chisholm

We are writting this petition to voice our concerns about external access to the campus servers. As some research has been done on other campuses that currently give their students access to telnet into the school unix servers so as to work on current class projects, we are concerned that we are being neglected in the modern age of IT. This would make things alot easier for students and teachers, with help and also keeping records on the school network for the teachers to assess the status of students.

13. Novalogic: Create a Knives Only Server For Delta Force Black Hawk Down (The Game)

With the ever growing popularity of the Delta Force series, and the latest release of Delta Force Black Hawk Down it is has come to my attention that the WANTS and NEEDS of the df community are not being met by the produces, Novalogic.

There are many players out there that play an excellent, fair and well matched game out on the Novaworld stats servers. However, there are players that take great pride in ruining our fun WE (us the fair players) make and set our own rules for the server, ie. KNIVES ONLY. These rules are obviously not obeyed by the rebelling community and hence take the enjoyment out for the other rule abiding players.

With this petition I hope to change that, If we get e good amount of votes to request that Novalogic/Novaworld puts up a KNIVES ONLY server that is stats enabled, this will mean that the rules CANNOT be broken and the game play will be great.

If there are players in there that CHEAT or generally abuse the system, I would ask if Novalogic also install such secondary software to their servers to allow a VOTE BANNING/PUNTING mechanism where the players of the server can vote out another player that is abusing the system.

Hopefully this petetion will not be in vain an more players will sign up and give their "signatures" if not, I have had my say and we will see what and where this goes.

Thx,

15. Barrysworld to add anti-cheat to MOHAA servers

Nearly every other server company allows people to upload there own pk3s to a server. How ever barrysworld don't, that means you can't install -

no rocket mods
no shotgun mods
anti-cheat tools

and any other server side mods.

However barrysworld have realism as a mod, and that is also a pk3 like all those listed above, so why wont they add it?

At the current time barrysworld servers are like a magnet to cheaters, as there is no way to stop people forcing models or using no fog.

18. Replace the Sierra Studios Messageboards

On the 11th of May, 2000, Sierra Studios brought their new Web Crossing messageboards on-line for public use. They were not met well by the communities, so much so that at least one community abandoned the boards partially and set up a community of free Ezboards.

Over the months the situation has become gradually worse. First it was only mirror servers kicking in, sometimes only for a few minutes, other times for a few hours. However, soon the mirror servers were on-line for days at a time and in recent weeks, it came to the final straw.

For a few weeks ago, the servers went down completely, not even the mirrors were up.

Then, on Christmas eve, the servers went completely and when they came back up, on Christmas day, they had been set behind 5 days to the 20th.
