1. Reinstate and keep the second Friday prayers at Madina Mosque
The Madina Mosque of Toronto is proposing to cancel the second Friday (jumma) prayers.
This second instalment of jumma was instated (quite a few years back) to encourage, attract and engage the youth of the muslim community.
The timing was critically set in agreement with a few of the community high schools to address the fact that muslim children were absent from school Friday afternoons in order to attend prayers. There was considerable work, effort and negotiation undertaken to address the needs of our youth, the education system and the Prophetic traditions.
This second jumma is critical element of a muslim youth who can partake in the mandatory faith practice while not forego their educational needs.
2. Extend Second Saturday Art Walk Hours
Regarding street artists and vendors at the Second Saturday art walk. These hard working artists make most of their money on this night - and used to make most of it between the hours of 8 and 10 pm.
With the art walk closing at 8 pm - it has greatly impacted many people. The customers coming in through the art walk are also disappointed that they don't get done with dinner in time to come out and buy.
During the Summer, many people will not come out until the later hours due to heat, thus impacting artists even more.
3. Make a 2nd movie of "Spirited Away"

7. Everquest: Unnerf Wizard Instant nukes
APRIL 18, 2007
***Patch notes***
-The wizard instant cast nukes (Flashfires, Cloudburst Strike, and Cold Snap) have been reduced in effectiveness slightly.
Nov,13, 2007
Patch Notes
*** Secrets of Faydwer ***
- Single-target fire, ice, and magic instant cast spells from TSS and SoF now share the same recast timer. The recast delay on Cloudburst has been decreased so it can be chained. The Cloudburst line is now more damaging but less efficient than the - Flashfires and Cold Snap lines. Recourses from these instant cast spells now bestow a short-duration buff that applies a damage increase to the next spell with a 3 second cast time or more. Most other wizard direct damage spells have had their cast times nearly halved and had this time applied to the reuse delay, allowing the use of 2-3 direct damage spells in the time that would previously be required to cast one.
While controversial to the wizard community, many players of this class simply did not care for these changes to the wizard class as it made the class less effective than it once was for burst damage which many consider wizard's primary function.

In 1993, Robert Latimer killed his 12 year old daughter, Tracy. She had cerebral palsy and had many, many surgeries to correct this, and she was about to go for another one before she passed.
After he was convicted of second degree murder in 1994, a new trial was declared for Latimer, because it was brought to light that some jury members were asked what they thought of euthanasia and mercy killings. In 1997, the second trial jury reached the conclusion of second degree murder, but be allowed to apply for parole in one year. Three weeks later, Justice Judge Ted Noble gives Latimer "constitutional exemption" and gives him two years, one which would be served in the community.
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeals scratched that, and gave him life with parole in 10 years. No appeals worked after that, so now he sits in a minimum security prison in B.C. Today (Dec. 5), his bid for day parole was denied, because he still maintains that he felt it was the right decision.
10. Freedom for Nguyen Thi Bao Phuong
We are the Vietnamese people around the world, we are please asking for your help for the release of Nguyen Thi Bao Phuong.
11. Two Australian journalists, were Kidnappés by the POLISARIO
There is more than two weeks, Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala obtained the permission of the polisario to work in Rabouni and the refugee camps. The interested parties paid their second visit in the area. The two journalists were invited to pass their stays in the tents of a family to the camps of Aousserd. During two weeks, they carried out films on the life of the refugees.
On May 1 before midnight, the journalists informed a family member having accomodated them whom they were to leave the tents to go in another place. This information came from to the safety of Polisario, which started to seek the journalists. On May 2 with 11:00, the person in charge of the protocol of the polisario received a call of the Australian MAE, calling upon a “kidnapping of journalise”. Less than one half an hour after, Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala were found with the inn of a cuban doctor, where they hid.
The Director of the Safety of the POLISARIO, Mohamed Wali Akeik, stopped Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala. According to the carried out investigations, the interested parties carried out a film on slavery and racism in the refugee camps sahraouis. They described a slavery-racism ratio within the same family, divided into two according to the colour of its members. Alleged the " slaves noirs" belong " with the Master blanc".
When the film was carried out, "esclaves" asked the journalists to pay attention to their safety because the POLISARIO followed their activities.
Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala then took the video-cassettes of films carried out and tried to flee the zone sahraouie. They called by telephone of the parents in Australia, announcing to them that the unknown ones kidnapped them. This information was transmitted to the Australian authorities, which invited the FP to take the necessary measures to find the missing journalists.
12. The Second Chance Campaign:
JUNE 9, 2007
TY IS BACK!
I just read a news article about Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that has probably brought a lot of relief to a lot of Ty Pennington fans who have been on pins and needles for the last month. There are now news articles online about the first makeover of the fifth season, which was recently done out west. The design team (Including Ty as team leader) completed the makeover successfully and the two-hour season premire will air in September.
This petition will be closed on Thursday, August 24th. I am not sending the signatures to ABC but I will be sending them to Ty himself, to show him that he had support throughout this ordeal. If you still want to show Ty your support, sign this petition and leave a comment, and I'll include it with the others. Signatures will be sent every four weeks.
U.S. TV star TY PENNINGTON insists it's his duty to keep on apologising for his drink-driving arrest earlier this month (May07), because he only now understands how his behaviour "affects everyone". He says, "It could jeopardise everything, including my job, which to me, is the greatest job in the world. I would never want to jeopardise that. "It made me realise how important every decision you make in your life is because it affects everyone, not just yourself. "I realised if you make a mistake, I think you ought to step up and admit that you did. I'm just that kind of a person. If you do something that you know you shouldn't have, stand up and accept it."
Ty Pennington, known as the quirky, creative carpenter from ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition has served as an excellent role mode for his viewers and his work inspires millions of viewers. He is considered a freedom fighter; not like the ones in the army or the ones fighting in Iraq, but the ones who fight right here in the United States.
They are the ones whose enemies are poverty, misfortune, and tragedy.
Whose uniforms include construction boots and tool belts.
Whose weapons are the tools and materials used to build new homes.
Whose medals are the expressions on the faces of the people they've helped.
Ty Pennington ans well as the rest of the design team, are the kind of fighters who stand up for the freedom of others to live the American Dream, which is to own a home where they can live happily with their families. They have stood together to defend that right for over 80 families across the nation on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for almost four years now, and they all want to keep doing it, especially Ty.
He defends this dream week after week, and has kept coming back for more for the past four years. He has stated that he wishes to be able to do this for a long while to come.
13. Holy Trinity Gives Second Chances
On December 20, 2006 a student at Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, who we will refer to as simply Matt, was caught in the act of trafficking.
Although we realise this is highly illegal and any persons caught involved in this kind of behaviour should be given strict consequences, we are asking the Halton Catholic District School Board, and Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School to show mercy to Matt in this situation.
We aren't asking Matt to be exempt from any legal action. We are asking for Matt to be allowed to continue to attend school at Holy Trinity, if not this year then next year when he has served his probation or any charges that have been laid. As a catholic community we believe in second chances, Jesus showed mercy to those who have sinned, we are asking that the administration do the same.
Thank-you.
14. Give us the gift of Silence
We 400 million Urban residents of India are constantly barraged by unwanted intrusive traffic noises, especially honking 24/7.
It severely affects our health and well being.
It has enormous, immeasurable cascading deleterious effects on the entire society.
We beg for enforced Silence.
15. Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii) to be released to PAL regions
Trauma Center (Under the Knife) was first made on the Nintendo DS and for all the PAL users who may have been interested in purchasing this game, was it possible? No. Soon after, following the DS title was a remake announced for the Nintendo Wii. In the US and Asia, Trauma Center: Second Opinion was a launch title however for the second time, this game fails to hit PAL regions, a successful game such as this should be on the shelves for the PAL launches but sadly this a dream that wont be realized.
This petition is for the people who would like this game to hit the European, Oceanic and UK game retailers. The petition will be sent to many game distributors with the hope that they will acknowledge our time and our anticipation for this game.
16. The Mayoral System in Doncaster Works
The Mayor of Doncaster Mr Martin Winter is in his second term as the directly Elected Mayor of Doncaster, under his stewardship Doncaster has progressed and moved forward and is now much more prosperous than just five years ago.
In 2006 there has been excessive opposition to the Mayoral System with petitions being organised calling for his removal.
17. Bring back the attitude era
July 14, 2006
Recently WWEinc shows have been second rate. i feel that WWE need to return to the attitude era.
when someone got a title match because of their abilitys and skills. not because they were good with a mic or were related to the boss.
WWE need to listen to the fans when it comes to TV.
after all without the fans the company is finished
April 24, 2006
We would like to have Cory Stewart our now professor of American History Part One teach a class this summer for the second part of American History, preferrably for a night class or over the internet.
19. Class of 2006 Senior Gift Scholarship
This petition was created in protest of the Class of 2006 Senior Gift Scholarship, which won second place to that of Root Glen extension.
The Root Glen extension rightfully won the popular vote and should therefore be pursued.
Weekly Internet Show "The Second Cumming".
Should MTV pick up the show, "The Second Cumming"(name will probably be changed)?
21. Get Kelly Clarkson on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine
Kelly Clarkson not only won the hearts of millions when she won the first season of the hit TV show American Idol but she has managed to turn her TV fame into a successful career in the music industry.
Kelly's first single from Idol "A Moment Like This", released in 2002, managed to hit #1 on the US and Canadian charts. Kelly followed up her "A Moment Like This" success with her first album, Thankful. Thankful, when released in 2003, hit #1 on the US charts and sent out three popular singles "Miss Independent", "Low", and "The Trouble With Love Is".
To date Thankful has gone double platinum and sold 2.2 million copies. Kelly's second studio album, Breakaway, has done even better. Since it's release in November of 2004 the album has had three smash singles. "Breakaway", which debuted on the Princess Diaries two soundtrack, has hit #1 on the American Top 40 chart. Breakaway's second single "Since U Been Gone" hit #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts and has managed to hit #6 on the UK charts.
The newest single "Behind These Hazel Eyes" peaked at #6 on the American single charts. Breakaway has become one of the top five albums of 2005 and has to date gone triple platinum and sold more than 2.6 millions copies.
Kelly also holds the record of being the first solo artist to hold #1 positions on two US Billboard charts simultaneously with two different singles. Not only has Clarkson managed to gain American fame she also recently released Breakaway overseas in the United Kingdom where it hit #7 on the midweek flashes.
Kelly has accomplished a lot since her Idol win back in 2002, that is why we (the people below) believe she should be allowed to grace the cover of Rolling Stone.
22. Bring White Castle to Fort Wayne
We believe that Fort Wayne, IN, the second largest city in Indiana, deserves at least one White Castle restaurant inside city limits.
23. Ban Cigarettes in the USA!
Alright I know we have all herd this before but honestly, we need to look at the facts here. Every 8 seconds someone dies of tobacco! And next time it could be you! Or someone in your family!
Almost 50,000 people a year die from second hand smoke alone! Just second hand! Just from being in the same room with someone who smokes.
Tobacco companies are making products that kill their customers! Their product(s) kill 440,000 of there buyers a year and 1,200 a day!
But why should this be surprising? Cigarettes zalready have about 700 chemicals in them alone! 69 of these chemicals are even known to cause cancer! Just to name a few chemicals:benzene, carbon monoxide, arsenic, hydrogen cyanide and polonium 210 (which is a radioactive chemical).
Ever heard of urea? the dictionary defines urea as: A water-soluble compound, CO(NH2)2, that is the major nitrogenous end product of protein metabolism and is the chief nitrogenous component of the urine in mammals and other organisms. Also called carbamide.
Some tobacco companies even add urea to their cigarettes.
"In 1990, 72 million bottles of a popular mineral water were voluntarily recalled because of small traces of benzene. The smoke from one pack of unfiltered cigarettes has as much benzene as 169 bottles of the contaminated water."
I beleive the most shocking quote of all is "How do infants avoid secondhand smoke? "At some point they begin to crawl." -- Tobacco Executive 1996"
Smoking also causes 445 new cases of lung cancer everyday.
Now think about this...We supposedly live in the "Best country of All" but if we're so great..why does out governement allow people to sell things that will kill us?
Please Join the fight for a Smoke Free World.

24. Ban second hand smoke in foster homes in British Columbia
The 10,000 children in the care of the Province of BC ,living in approximately 4,000 foster homes and group homes deserve to live in a smoke-free environment.
In addition to the 4,000 chemicals and 40 known carcinogens in second-hand smoke, exposure also affects learning and behavioral development. Second-hand smoke leads to problems ranging from ear infections, asthma and increased crib deaths to bronchial conditions, respiratory conditions and some types of cancer.
We want laws to protect innocent children from the adverse affects of second hand smoke to be put in place as soon as possible. As concerned mothers, we demand this for each and every child in foster care in the Province of British Columbia.
25. Change The Way The CWF Is Run
This Petition Is To Either Create A Second Differently Run Fed On Code X Or To Change The Way Makakveli Runs The CWF To One Of The Following:
Have Opponents Make A Declared Number Of Votes And then Have A Schedualed "REFEREE" Decide Who Wins In A Final Match Ending Post
OR
To Use CAWS On Smackdown Vs. Raw And Play COM Vs. COM Matches Which A Schedualed Writer Will Re-Write Exactly What Happens
26. Keep Miss Amelia Bailey as the current second/third grade teacher at St. James Catholic School
We the undersigned are signing our names to this petition in an attempt to keep Miss Amelia Bailey as the current second/third grade teacher at St. James Catholic School.
27. Give Kok Yong Quan heavier punishment
On Friday, 07 May 2004, the culprits of the multiple theft cases around the school were apprehended and caned in front of the school. It's called "public caning" for those who do not know.
However, the truth is that, only one of them committed the actual crime, called "theft", and made use of the other four. In the end, he dragged the other four down with them as they had a share in the thefts. The word "accomplice" is not suitable as they did not commit theft along with that person. His name is Kok Yong Quan (referred to as Kok hereafter). Basically, he shared the money he had stolen with the other four and told them to keep the handphones.
And on that day, the five of them got two strokes of the cane each. As we all know, the pain was not really there but the humiliation was.
We are all upset and enraged by the decision of whoever that allowed the other to receive the same amount of punishment as Kok, as he was the mastermind. Nah. We just feel and think that Kok should be given a harsher punishment and be identified as the mastermind behind the thefts. That way, the school will be impressed by how he managed to steal so many things yet disgusted by his actions.
Mrs Goh said that the five of them had felt remorseful and are willing to change. She also added that we should forgive and accept them. Fine. No problem with that. However, I would like to point that the fact that Kok is not a first time offender of thievery. The rest had been given a second chance because it's their first time committing this offence, but for a second time offender? I said second time, not second chance. If he had really felt remorseful the first time, would he do it the second time? And if he can do it the second time, why would he not do it a third time? Besides, he was also responsible for the vandalisms that happened in the sec 3 level, and we all got scolded by Mr Lim because of that.
This petition was not started by me, cpl Soh, alone, but by quite a few people. Danson, Yize, etc. Just take it that this petition is set up by no one. It is just meant to voice out the feelings of many people and what we want. If you are not one of those agree with this petition, then don't sign in. Nobody is forcing you to. I just want to let everybody know that all I did was to set up this petition. It does not matter who does. The petition is here because it is here. If you really think that this petition was here because someone wanted it to be here, there are dozen of signatures to prove you wrong. Any one of them could start this petition. The fact that they signed it proves that they agree with this petition.
To end off, we want Kok to fork out everything for the compensation, instead of all five of them . He stole everything, therefore he should pay for it.
Help this petition out to request that the unfair justice be served by signing it.
PS: Not happy? Don't sign. Leave this page. All comments are welcome, but beware of flaming if your comment is anti-thispetition.
28. Let Mrs. Raiford Be a Second Grade Teacher
Mrs. Raiford has respectfully requested to move "up" to the second grade with the class she currently has. Her request was denied, and she is very upset about the matter. The letter below was written by one of her students, Zoe Hartley. The letter certainly captures the mood and feelings of Mrs. Raiford's students, their parents, families, and other supporters.
29. Oversized Passengers on Airplanes
As obesity becomes a bigger problem in the United States, so does the impact it has on various facets of life. If you have travelled on an airplane with an obese passenger who cannot fit in the seat, you know that the experience is unplesant at best and downright impossible at worst.
Southwest Airlines has started to enforce a policy that if a passenger is too large to fit in one airline seat, they must purchase a second one. This is fair for all parties; the overweight passenger benefits from the extra space, and the surrounding passengers are not 'squished'.
Before Southwest implemented this policy, 90 percent of complaints were about obese passengers.
30. Recreation Programs for Palisade
Palisade Town Government has denied the Palisade residents a recreation program. This year will be the second year in a row. Our children as well as our adult residents need to have a recreation program, our town is small and there is little to do to keep our children occupied. The citizens of Palisade need to speek up and get a Recreation program going in Palisade.
