1. Dont Kill the iGoogle webportal

Google has recently announced they are killing off their iGoogle homepages.

iGoogle is one of Google's most useful products as it allows users to have all of their Google services under 1 easy to use and customizable webpage.

Millions and Millions of people use iGoogle as their start page. This all but guarantees that these users will be using Google Search (as it is imbedded right into the page) and the rest of the Google services.

2. Restore the Option to Turn Off Search Suggestions in Google

Since September 9, 2010, Google's search suggestions (also called "AutoComplete") were automatically enabled by default. The option to toggle the suggestions was replaced with Google Instant - once you type something, the results will pop up without having to click the Search button or press the Enter key.

Many users were getting irate that their Web activity will be disrupted by those search suggestions. One of Google's employees stated that their company's reason for making AutoComplete mandatory by default is keeping with their vision of a "unified search experience," but not to maintain different versions of the website.

However, back in its early years, Google had simplicity and functionality in mind; there was no need for such outlandish, "automated" features.

3. Make Web search stop forcing itself onto us!

About a month ago i was searching for something and i somehow ended up at websearch.com. I thought no big deal and i left to search something else. So i typed in my url bar (where my search engine is) and i was expecting to have an msn search come up (my usual search engine) but instead web search came up. It is really stupid and had terrible search results! I read their FAQ's and found that the last one had directions, if you could call them that, on how to unload web search. I tried all the ways and none of them worked! I sent a hate email to them demanding they tell me how to get rid of it. They said excactly what the FAQ said. So i told them that and they said 'we have a phone number people can call for those of you who can't follow directions! can you belive that!? I can follow directions! If you don't want Web search to force itself upon you then sign this petition now!
