1. 1 Main Street - Support Restaurant Liquor License Application
Dear Neighbors,
We hope this letter finds you well. We are No Name Hunt Club, the owners of an upcoming great Restaurant in DUMBO, at 1 Main Street.
We are applying to the State Liquor Authority for an on-premise liquor license and want to reach out to you in hopes of gaining your support for this exciting venture.
No Name Hunt Club is a full service restaurant that will endeavor to use only locally sourced and certified organic Brooklyn based producers and provide the community with a casual yet high-quality interpretation of New American dining. It will represent DUMBO and its surrounding neighborhoods with a much needed eating and drinking establishment that focuses on all things gastronomically New York.
The food at No Name Hunt Club may include such items as: local produce from neighboring farms, locally sourced meats, artisanal regional cheeses, and a fresh fish selection from our nearest waters and shorelines. The wine selection will feature a diverse and thorough wine by the glass list of unique yet approachable, affordable high quality wines. In addition, we will have a reserve list from a cellar of consigned wines of avid collectors in our area.

2. Support "What Happens When" to obtain a Liquor License
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN (WHW) requests your support, and the support of the residents of Community Board 2, in obtaining an On-Premise Liquor License for a restaurant located at 25 Cleveland Place between Spring and Kenmare. Without the liquor license, WHW will most likely desist.
The temporary restaurant installation has been scheduled to last for a duration of nine months with a menu that changes completely every month along with the decor, music and drinks program (liquor license permitting of course). Michelin-starred chef John Fraser of Dovetail is in charge of the menu along with his creative team, which includes interior designer Elle Kunnos de Voss of The Metrics and brand designer Emilie Baltz.
The focus of the installation is to explore the definition of what a restaurant can be, both as a dining experience and a creative process. Although temporary in nature, WHW is not a "pop-up" restaurant and does have ties to the community. For example, WHW hosts a Monday night dining series called What Happens When Women Take Over, recognizing and collaborating with female chefs, pastry chefs and sommeliers who have influenced the dining landscape. 20% of the Monday evening's net sales are donated to a charitable organization of the chef's choice.
WHW is a restaurant project that will continue to be a good neighbor, respectful of the community in which it operates while also contributing to the nexus of creative activity that SoHo is known to represent.
3. YES to McDonald's Ocean Dr Port Macquarie
Amongst our Port management team we have 300 years of McDonald’s experience. Our people are at the heart of our business and as a nationally accredited training organisation we strive to provide all of our people with the flexibility they require at different life stages, as well as training and skills that will serve them well wherever their future decisions take them.
We do, however, take the issue seriously. Since the early 2000s McDonald’s has not only looked to provide choice - including healthier options - but to improve the nutritional value of all menu items. Examples include a change to low sugar (less than 5%) buns in 2004 and the change to a vegetable oil blend in 2004 which removed 9000 tonnes of saturated fat from the food industry. The subsequent move to a next generation canola oil blend removed more than 415 tonnes of trans fat from the Australian food supply.
Stripping away the misconceptions, we are a family restaurant that provides food and non-alcoholic beverages in a safe and comfortable environment.
As part of our development application to council planning experts, we have included independent traffic and acoustic reports which we encourage those in the community who have concerns about these issues to view.
A litter free environment is something we’re passionate about and we take every opportunity to remind our customers of the need to dispose of their litter thoughtfully. We also have a Litter Patrol Program in place which is a structured, regular task for our crew, and involves them picking up all litter from the restaurant grounds and its vicinity.
We fully intend to remain an engaged and proactive neighbour, and hope to receive your continued support moving forward.
It is a place where everyone can go, meet have fun. It has been referred to as the 'place to go' in Oak Park. We are open late. It is an INDEPENDENTLY owned and operated establishment, that Oak Park is supportive of.
There is free WI-FI, computers on premises for customers who do not have their own, Italian pastries, cookies, candy, teas, chai tea (the best), specialty coffee drinks, Italian sodas, hand made ready-to-order sandwiches, salads, gelato, and a spacious banquet room.
5. Support Jake's Restaurant Group Proposal
Jake's Restaurant Group, which operates casual dining restaurants in the Bay Area is proposing to open and operate a new restaurant at 14101 Winchester Blvd. which is located in the Vasona Station Shopping Center in the Town of Los Gatos.
The proposed Restaurant is 4,000 square ft. and would serve casual dining cionsisting of prepared to order sandwiches, hamburgers and pizza, etc. and would serve beer and wine. Jake's Restaurant Group currently operates 6 restaurants in the area: The Garret in Campbell, Jake's Restaurants in Willow Glen, Saratoga and Sunnyvale and The Boardwalk of Los Altos and the Oasis of Menlo Park.
We are very involved in each of these communities and believe in "giving back" by supporting local organizations, sports groups and public schools.
We feel that we would be a benefit to the community that surrounds this location.
6. Stop the Garnishment of Tips to Pay Credit Card Fees
Amid a swirl of controversy, some restaurants, including Fishbone's, have scuttled plans to deduct portions of credit card processing fees from servers’ tips as a way to offset wage hikes and other increased operational costs that are squeezing profit margins. After a public outcry in 2008, Outback Steakhouse parent OSI Restaurant Partners, whose multibrand system includes 1,200 restaurants in 26 states, backed down from a plan to require servers to cover the proportion of charge card fees related to their gratuities.
Tampa, Fla.-based OSI, whose brands include Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Roy’s and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, had implemented the policy in January in Illinois and Arkansas. But when employees and customers complained, OSI dropped the deductions and promised to refund credit card processing fees already withheld from servers.
Restaurants typically pay credit card companies fees that can range from 1.5 percent to 3 percent of a transaction. The fees apply to the total tab, including tip, though some operators pass on to servers the percentage of the fee not related to the meal portion of the ticket. For example, if a meal tab is $100 and the tip is $20, an employer whose 3-percent fee would be $3.60 may withhold 60 cents–3 percent of the tip–from the server on that one transaction.
One Outback Steakhouse server told local media in Arkansas that the policy would cost her an estimated $800 a year if she worked five shifts a week. Customers who were made aware of the new policy were said to have jotted pointed objections to it on their credit card slips and then left their tips in cash.
OSI’s chief legal officer, Joseph Kadow, said the company first considered making the deductions because of escalating costs. “However, upon reflection, we realized this decision is inconsistent with our principles and beliefs,” Kadow said. “We will take care of our people and our customers, and the institution of OSI will take care of itself.”
Fishbone's has made no disclosure of this policy and that is what seems most unfair. Had employees been made aware of this policy, there would be no controversy.

9. Keep Plano A Family Friendly City
Please help, let the city of Plano and Twin Peaks restaurant know that we do not appreciate this lewd and offensive form of advertising.
10. That Denny's (a restaurant in America) should be situated in Australia as well
I travelled to Hawaii this year and went to a restaurant called Denny's. I have never been to such an awesome restaurant. From everything to the setting, to of course, the food was magnificent.
Their burgers, especially - they are, in my opinion, the best burgers I have every tasted, not to mention all the other food which just add to the already incredibly delicious menu.
Then I thought; wouldn't it be great if there were Denny's restaurants in Australia, then not only America would be able to enjoy this excellent restaurant; and this is our chance to do so.
I know that Denny's have been in Australia a few years ago and that it didn't work. But i believe that it is a new time, with a new generation of people, who like myself, would love to have Denny's restaurants in Autsralia.
11. Stop Noise Level violations and antisocial behavior in Brookhaven
We would like to request a few minutes of your time to address a critical problem that, with your help, may be greatly diminished. It is a Noise Level Control problem.
There are two Clubs "Las Vegas Sports Club" and "Las Teja Restaurant & Bar" that are operating out of 1075 Portion Road from the hours of 8 P.M. to 3:30 A.M. Tuesday thru Sunday. It is a complex issue involving a number of factors. The one we'd like to address is the ongoing problem with both clubs playing loud music that is affecting our sleep and disrupting our lives and affecting the quality of life.
Another serious problem related to these two clubs is that drugs are being sold in the parking lot and that patrons are/may be leaving in an intoxicated or drugged state and are operating their vehicles through our neighborhoods causing a dangerous and potentially deadly environment for our local residents and public.
We have contacted the Town of Brookhaven, Code Enforcement Dept and 911 to assist the residents with some relief when the music gets out of control. When the officers request the business owners to lower the volume they comply, however once the officers leave the location the club owners raise the volume up on the music again and it remains that way until we call 911 again.
July 27, 2006
This petition was started in support of one of the hardest working women I have ever met.
She is trying to start a new restaurant in the Selma that will benefit the city and surrounding area in many ways.
Please sign below if you are interested in the opening of a fine establishment.
Thank You Selma.
13. Stop Haggling on Little Bourke Street
Since living in Little Bourke Street, I have noticed the endless number of people succumbed by hawkers/hagglers nearly forcing people to enter their restaurants.
People have a free will and will enter a restaurant if they desire, they don't need people yelling at the top of their voice to enter a shop.
Generally, non-Chineserestaurants don't do it, why should Chinatown? Not only is it disturbing the environment and residents, but it also creates a negative image for Chinatown here in Melbourne.
14. Rizo Asian Bistro Cocktail Lounge License
April 18, 2006
The undersigned support the application of RIZO ASIAN BISTRO for the establishment of a cocktail lounge in conjunction with a restaurant operation at 757 Corydon Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Accordingly, the undersigned request that the Order of the Board of Adjustment be maintained and the appeal of such order be denied.
15. Parking lot needed for the Near South Health Center
This petition is being drawn up because there is a great need for a parking lot for the Near South Health Center.
The Health Center provides service for a large variety of different age groups, with that being from infants to senior citizens. It is a great inconvienence for clients that may have a disability or those with young children. The inconvenience comes into play because there is no close by parking, nor is there any accessible parking for the disable.
The possible available parking is being consumed by the patrons and employees of the Police Department located directly across the street from the health center. The other nearby parking is the Churches Chicken restaurant which has now barred any of the patients from parking in their parking lot, there also use to be a vacant lot located on the left side of the health center which has now been fenced in which makes that off limits as well, therefore the patients or other visitors of the health center must park approximately 2-3 blocks away or take a chance on parking in the restaurant just to have the convenience of the closeness.
Again there is definitely a great need for a parking facility for the patients and visitors to park without the risk of getting towed or ticketed.
16. Bring White Castle to Fort Wayne
We believe that Fort Wayne, IN, the second largest city in Indiana, deserves at least one White Castle restaurant inside city limits.
17. Essex Cricketers, Great Notley Ban on Children after 7 pm
When asked, we at Great Notley Garden Village and surrounding areas voted in favour of a family oriented pub/restaurant establishment to be built. We did not realise that after only a short time our families would be subject to an exclusion of children after 7 p.m.
Great Notley is a thriving village, and part of the fastest growing town in Britain today, namely Braintree. The majority of homeowners living in Great Notley are families with children who are now being penalised for being so, by the only public house/restaurant within walking distance of their homes.
18. Changes To WORK PERMIT LAWS to help the Bangladeshi restaurant industry
The growing problems we are facing in the Bangladeshi Restaurant industry is a countrywide dilemma.
Throughout the country, Indian restaurateurs say they are struggling with a staffing crisis. With the younger generation preferring college than work in the restaurant trade, Restaurant owners are looking to their homeland to fill vacancies for chefs and waiters.
Thousands of work visa applications are being blocked by one side of government e.g. the British High Commission in Bangladesh, despite having been given the go ahead by Home Office, Work Permits U.K at a cost of £153 per visa.
As many work permits are refused because David Blunkett strict migration rule on Bangladeshi's placed upon Work Permits U.K to stop Permits being issued without reason. As they are meeting the criteria. I have many cases of this around the country.
The 'Indian' restaurant sector has traditionally been dominated by Bangladeshis and this is still very much evident. For example, of the 9,500 Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants and takeaways in the UK, employing over 72,000 personnel (more than the coal, steel and shipbuilding industries combined) and with an annual turnover of some £2.3 billion, approximately 85% are exclusively owned by Bangladeshis. A recent Labour Force Survey conducted in 1997 discovered that over 60% of male Bangladeshi employees and self-employed worked in the restaurant trade compared to 40% of Chinese but only 2% of Indian and 1% of white males.
We think and believe it to be true there are about 20,000 people short, we cannot understand what the David Blunkett is achieving by stopping people coming when they would contribute to the economy and pay taxes.
The Bangladeshi Restaurant industry is highly concerned is the Sector based scheme, the staff that the restaurants has already employed on the scheme, how does David Blunkett desire to explain to the Bangladeshi Restaurant industry that they will have to provide service with out staff to fill the places of the returning Work Permit Holders.
The Bangladeshi Restaurant industry is anxious and very stressed on the situation. The feel that some law should come in separately for the Sector based Scheme a suggestion made from the Bangladeshi Restaurant industry is that the Sector based Scheme permit holders should be able to remain without recourses to public funds and they are not eligible for U.K settlement entitlement on Sector based Scheme but may work as long as they wish. We only see this as the only way to save the Bangladeshi Restaurant industry from this dilemma.
The Full Skilled Work Permit law should be changed to standards that cannot be discriminated against, e.g. a standard that is recognized for Bangladesh as it does not have same specifics to U.K but equivalent, but a standard must be met by David Blunkets that he cannot select at his discretion and choose time of breeding new Work permits.
If the above concerns in question are not a concern for David Blunkett then the scheme in question was not designed to solve restaurant staffing, it was to kill the Bangladeshi Restaurant industry.

20. MAKE DR.PEPPER AVAILABLE IN EVER RESTAURANT
Dr.Pepper should be an option for people when choosing the right drink in any restaurant. What is wrong with people? Do they think Dr.Pepper isn't good enough because its not "Pepsi or Coca Cola"? DR.Pepper is not only the best type of drink but the most refreshing!!! :)
21. SAY "NO" to SEWER WATER IN THE STEINHATCHEE RIVER !!!
The D.E.R. is considering a permit to Zaney foods Inc. to dump treated liquids from motel and restaurant into the Steinhatchee river. Solids to be hauled away. I believe this to be harmful for our River, and our Community. If you agree please write the D.E.R., or sign this petiton.
22. Safe Restaurant Dining in the USA
To make restaurant dining safe for
people who suffer from food-related
allergies.
There could be as many as 10 million Americans that suffer from food related
allergies. An estimated 150 Americans die each year from a food-related reaction (FDA). Help us push for the
now voluntary allergen labeling program
developed by the National Food Processors Association (and implemented by such institutions as McDonald's)
and make it mandatory for all restaurants to list products made with
common allergens either on the main menu, or on a supplementary document.
