31. Elimination of Racism in Education
Racism is not only found in racial discrimination, but also in the denial of proper education to minorities. The "low-income" schools are very poor and have little funding to help support students in attaining a good education. In raising the funding, the schools can build better facilities, hire more teachers, and provide for a better learning experience of minority students.
This petition is intended to show school boards of various school districts that providing funding to "low-income" schools is extremely important and supported by the public.
32. Help the world become a home and STOP racism!
Over 62 million human beings in the last 100 years have paid a price for being racially different, tortured, subjugated and/or killed. I'm a High school student in
Maryland, the guy that I am currently seeing is african american. Kids in the schools start to make racial comments not to mention it spreads to the internet where I have received "Hate comments" on facebook.
Being from the south my family isn't so supportive. My mom and sister support me the most because being partners with other races is indeed encouraged in the bible. I have been dissowned by my grandfather , my father is incredibly angry with me and my uncle has turned against me. This just happened to me, one person in the world, imagine when a million and more people do the same. Not only is it a struggle for the ones who love someone of a different race but its hard for the people that are a different color.
We were all created in one world, we are exactly the same just our skin is colored different, does that change who we are or how we act? This scars every aspect of economic, cultural and political life. Help make the world one big home.
33. Stop African-American Discrimination
I am an African-American girl who makes straight A's and comes from a very good educated family.
I don't like that African-Americans these days are being portrayed as sex-craving, club going, rap loving, gangsters, crack heads, and etc.
It makes me feel really freakin' bad about my race. It makes me feel really bad that B.E.T. airs programming that makes African Americans look like a bunch of crap and people are sitting down laughing at that d*** s***.
Help put an end to this crap! All African-Americans aren't so bad! Some of us are f***in' educated! Some of us have a life other than going to clubs and making babies and etc.
God created us all equal! He wants us to love each other for who we are! He wants everyone to get along and think of each other as nice people! I think it'd be really nice if we do that!
Help put an end to African-American racism!
I'm Katrina and I approve this message.
(Sorry about all the profanity. I had to let my feelings out.)
34. Give us racial equality in Malaysia
Malaysia, Truly Asia - a cultural melting pot where people of different races all live in perfect harmony.
Or so go the tourist ads, issued by the very same government who ingrains racist policy in the very laws of this country, and openly condones racist attitudes. In a multi-ethnic, "highly developed" (HDI 2007) country, it should be political suicide to have a special system of privileges for Malays. However, this is reality in Malaysia, where it is the responsibility of the king to ‘safeguard the special position of the Malays’.
Consider Article 153 of the Malaysian Constitution:
2. – Grants ethnic Malays preferential access to scholarships, exhibitions and similar educational/training prvilleges
6. – Allows an ethnic quota on business permits/licenses for ethnic Malays
8.(c)1.(8A) – Gives the Yang di-Pertuan Agong the right to reserve places for ethnic Malays in universities/other educational institutions after the completion of the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM).
News articles which confirm inequality in Malaysia:
“When you set up a company in Malaysia, Bumiputras must own 30%. When a Malaysian company goes public, 30% of the shares must go to Bumiputras--at a discount. Can't find a partner? The International Trade & Industry Ministry will give you a list of "approved Bumiputras" to whom you must sell--or give--a stake.”

The current state of affairs encourages division in what would otherwise be a far more harmonious society. We hope only for a society that offers fairness to all regardless of ethnicity, whether one is Malay, Chinese, Indian or of the various other races that reside in Malaysia.

35. Stop the EDL!!
The edl are a fascist group which demonise and manipulate the british people into believing their views. The British people live in a democratic country with equal rights and the EDL (English Defence League) are twisting this and changing the way we think.
They have had a number of marches against islam but they say its against extremist islam which in actual is not what they are against they are against islam as a whole. They are making the British people believe that muslims are trying to take over the uk and radicalise it, this is a lie! just yesterday the EDL had a march through stoke on trent which was against extremist islam but the aftermath to this was far from anything they made us beleave this is what they set out to do.
As you can see from the following link shown below that many british officers were injured aswell as many passerbys all in the name of the EDL's ''peacfully protesting against radical islam'' as is stated on there webpage slogan!
so where is the peace with this group? oh and i forgot to mention the group was founded by football hooligans! Why would a person want to put the faith of the UK in the hands of hooligans?!

36. Enact the Equality Bill Now! Stop Right-Wing Racist Mobilisations
BUILD THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT TO WIN EQUALITY,
DIGNITY, RESPECT AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FOR ALL.
Britain’s black, Asian, Muslim, ethnic minority and immigrant communities are a permanent, growing and dynamic force in the life of this nation. Our vital contribution to this society and our struggles for justice, equality and dignity are shaping the new Britain, our Britain - a nation that can only thrive and progress as an integrated, multiracial and multicultural society that is united on the basis of equality and respect.
The Government’s Equality Bill, which is now before Parliament, is a long overdue response to the growing power and certain permanence of our communities. Passage of the Equality Bill will provide us with an important new weapon in our fight to make Britain a society where equality is a reality for everyone who lives, works or studies here, whatever our race, culture, religion, national origin etc.
The Equality Bill will put into law the most far-reaching anti-discrimination measures of any British equality legislation so far. It is an essential measure to overcome long-standing institutional and individual racism, sexism and anti-gay bigotry. The Bill will give our communities the power to make employers and public bodies open up the doors of opportunity through the implementation of Positive Action policies. For the first time Employment Tribunals will be given the power to find that employers are discriminating against a whole class of people and to shape a remedy to end that institutional and systematic discrimination.
Our ability to speak the plain truth about racism and to stop the alarming rise of physical attacks against individuals and the Mosques will be strengthened simply by the passage of the Equality Bill. Enactment of the Bill would constitute a strong rejection of the racist right wing’s attempts, in anticipation of the upcoming elections, to increase sentiment for the defence of white English privilege, to discourage Muslim and other ethnic minority and immigrant community participation in the political process, and to move the whole political discourse on race, ethnicity, immigration and foreign policy to the right.
It is essential that the Equality Bill is passed before the forthcoming General Election and that the passage of the Bill is accompanied by a high profile campaign to popularise its provisions and potential. Such a campaign is vital to preparing the ground for implementation of the Equality Bill and ensuring that is enforced in practice. The stronger that campaign is and the sooner the Bill is passed, the quicker the racist and fascist organisations that aim at getting the Conservative Party to adopt an openly racist and nationalist platform will get the message that they are isolated and weak.
Campaign:
There has been a Black presence in Britain since Roman times. Seventeenth Century London was home to more than 10,000 Black residents. However it was the 492 Caribbean men and women and those that followed from other parts of the Commonwealth such as Africa, India and Pakistan that played such a significant role in creating modern Britain. However, it has to be recognised that the seeds of modern migration started with 10,000 Caribbean service men and women who volunteered during World War II.
One of the key contributions of the Windrush Generation is making Britain more open and reflective based on the shared acknowledgment of social injustice and the values of hard work, tolerance and respect. The long history and campaigns for racial equality from the 1950s to the 1970s was the British equivalent of the American civil rights movement. Race relations and subsequent human rights legislation on gender, disability, age, religion and belief, and sexual orientation have made Britain more humane and socially aware.
This was reinforced by cultural dialogue on musical taste, food, life style and fashion, and the relationships by which Black, White, Asian and other communities created the multicultural nature, ethos and lifestyle which are now an accepted part of mainstream thinking and society.
This generation of people born between 1910-1930 will have passed away which means that the next Windrush celebrations in 2018 will be an empty and hollow affair. We will regret this as a nation for not taking individual and collective responsibility in systematically documenting their history as part of a legacy for the young people of all races and nationality regarding our contribution to Britain and beyond.
For years White America has been discriminated against by organizations such as the NAACP. We as Whites have been told to believe that it is "politically incorrect" to show any form of White Pride, while Black America received the entire month of February to celebrate their pride and heritage.
On the television there is an entire channel dedicate to Blacks known as "Black Entertainment Television (BET)". If you go to any conveinent store you can find magazines such as "Blackmen", "The Black Womans Guide To Healthy Living", etc.. Lets not forget the "Miss Black America Pagant". Black women can enter into the "Miss America Pagant" but a White woman would never be allowed to enter into the "Miss Black America Pagant", nor is there a pagant set up just for White women! In this country there are numerous colleges that will only hand out scholarships to Blacks! All of these issues are highly offensive to White people!
This discrimination has gone on far enough! Whites are discriminated against everyday by this! We are asking the President of the United States of America to help put an end to this unnecessary segregation!
39. Stop "Curry Bashing" Attacks on Indian Students
Violent and unprovoked attacks on Indian students are on the rise in Sydney and Melbourne. There have been at least 20 bashings of Indian students in Sydney in the past month, but most went unreported out of fear. There are estimated over 100 attacks on Indian students in the last 12 months, numerous robbings and random bashings on Indian students at night and in daylight, on trains and near their homes, often in western Sydney.
"There's a name for [the racist attacks]: 'curry bashing' ... [as in] 'lets go curry bashing'..."
40. We believe in a multi ethnic Italy
Silvio Berlusconi today (11th May 2009) announced that he and his government do not want a multi ethnic Italy. We disagree.
41. Nuyoricans Against MTV's True Life
MTV recently aired an episode called "True Life: I'm a Nuyorican" which featured the stories of three young people living with this cultural identity.
All three individuals chosen reinforced negative and socially damaging stereotypes to this culture as well as other Latino communities.
There was no balance or wholly accurate representation of the Nuyorican community, a term which is derived from the Literary and Artistic Movement begun in the 1970's and continued to present day.
The documentary was discriminatory, negative, myopic and detrimental to the perception of this community.
42. GlosREC to work on Race Discrimination and Immigration/Nationality Law
Currently there are proposals to change GlosREC (Race Equality Council for Gloucestershire) into Human Rights and Equality organisation covering all diversity strands (race, gender and disability).
This year (2008) GlosREC received no funding to do casework. Instead the funding was given to the Gloucester Law Centre to do discrimination law casework to cover race, gender and disability.
We disagree with this and are asking for your support in our claim for funding to continue to do casework, which we have been doing since 1980.
Further information about glosREC is available at www.glosrec.org.uk or by phoning GlosREC on 01452 301290 or by emailing on info@glosrec.org.uk.
43. Demand New Schools Be Built on Town Lines
Many towns in the United States are strongly segregated by race and economic background, especially in Michigan, Arizona, New York, and more.
Many times two towns next to each other are very diverse in ethnicity, race, and economic background. Our American youth are not being prepared for the globalized world that is already at their fingertips.
44. Remove Racist Discriminatory Laws and Statutes
The current statute of limitations on Civil Rights are discriminatory, they favor the employer and the corporations and deny the victim of racial discrimination the opportunity to seek justice and fairness.
IN most all cases of racial discrimination investigated by the EEOC the investigation is a long drawn out process where the wheel of justice and due process is delayed by the defendant/Employer and their legal council. The employer’s legal councils will deliberately delay the process to allow for statute of limitations to run out. This denies the victims their rights to file criminals complaints against witnesses who commit the crimes of perjury, fraud, obstruction of justice and so on.
In almost all cases the due process and wheel of justice is purposely slowed down by the employer’s legal council that allows the statute of limitations to run out that deny the victim the opportunity to file criminal complaint.
Corporations and employers benefit from short 3 and 5 years statute of limitations and it places the victim of racial discrimination at a great disadvantage. There is absolutely no benefit to the victim by having a 3 and 5 year statute of limitations. Congress and the Senate have willfully placed these short statute of limitations to favor the corporations and employers and place minorities at great disadvantage. This is a willful racial discrimination by the Congress and the Senate.
There is not a single benefit for the minorities. They claim these short statute of limitations will require the victims to bring their charges before the case gets too old but in reality it is a scam Congress and the Senate has pulled on minorities because it really places victims of discrimination at a disadvantage and allows corporations and employers to get away committing crimes of perjury, fraud, and obstruction of justice.
There should be no limit on racial discrimination victims and absolutely no statute of limitations on civil rights violations.
Please support this petition and urge your elected representatives to remove all statute of limitations on civil rights violations.
45. OUR BRITAIN: Multi-cultural, United, Equal; Full of Hope, Dignity & Respect for All
Prime Minister Gordon Brown, our government and schools are organising a national discussion on what it means to be British. This discussion is aimed at determining whether we, an increasingly multi-racial and multi-cultural society, can unite on the basis of a common identity, a common vision of who we are and what political principles bind us together.
The views of prominent politicians, religious leaders and professors will be featured in the media and in mandatory school classes on community- cohesion/citizenship. But at the end of the day, what will matter most are the aspirations, beliefs and actions of the youth - the future of Britain.
Our sights are set on the future and not on the past. We alone possess the will, energy and optimism to strive to turn this nation, which is our home, into a place that our families, our communities and our neighbours will be proud to declare is their Britain, our Britain.
The youth of the Asian, black, African, Caribbean, Muslim, immigrant and other historically discriminated against communities must play a leading role in defining what it means to be British.
Our success in turning equality, freedom, justice, community, fairness, dignity and mutual respect from ideals into reality will determine whether we move forward together as one nation providing hope and prosperity to all or fracture into a deeply divided, pessimistic society at war with itself.
46. Stop The Tirad Of Racism In Brunswick High School
At Brunswick Sr. High School in Lawrenceville, Va racial discrimination is a cataclysm.
Being that the school is predominantly black and only about 18% white, of course there will be racial issues. However, I for one have experienced it myself when i first came here. Blacks on my bus and in the school were harassing me even though i had not done or said anything to them. They would throw things at me, tell me where i could and could not sit, threatin to beat me up, and much much more.
I personally have gone to the principal, Mr. Whiting, as have my father and step mom many different times and he has not done anything about the issue and presumably just as mainstream, formidable, disconcerting, and indifferent.
This happens on a daily basis, not only to me, but to most other white people as well, and nothing is being done to stop it. We NEED Your HELP to STOP ALL Racism in this school before someone gets hurt even worse.
47. Justice for Kapali Swamy: Lethal Punches should have Criminal Consequences
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." -- Martin Luther King, Jr
Kapali Giridhar Swamy, 27, was killed November 18, 2007. He was punched in the face by Christopher Brett Pennington and he died within moments in the middle of a Cullman County, Alabama street. The irony lies in the fact that Kapali was going out of his way for Pennington and giving him a ride home that night. Sadly, his act of kindness led to his tragic and untimely death.
The details of the events leading to the crime are as follows. Three individuals (all names have been released to the public) Kapali Swamy, Gina Flippo Mason (formerly Gina Gonzalez), and Christopher Brett Pennington were driving to Pennington's residence shortly after 6am on 11/18; Kapali was kindly giving Pennington a ride home from a night out in Birmingham. Apparently, during the drive and after stopping the car, Kapali and Gina became involved in a heated verbal argument. Once they exited the car the argument continued, at which time Pennington approached Kapali. Words were exchanged, and then a verbal confrontation was escalated to a physical one when Pennington threw the first and only punches. Pennington punched Kapali -- apparently twice. Kapali instantly fell to the ground and was found to be pulseless and without any signs of life when emergency medical personnel arrived. Pennington's right fist was bruised, but his body was without any other signs of an altercation. Gina Mason and a third party witness both assert that Kapali did not touch either Pennington or Gina.
The key evidence supporting the crime is as follows:
1) The alleged perpetrator fully confessed to punching Kapali in his statement to police.
2) Witnesses confirmed that Kapali did not initiate any physical conflict.
3) The autopsy confirmed the cause of Kapali's death as massive brain hemorrhage and brainstem herniation, the direct result of "homicide."
Despite the concrete, compelling evidence that a crime was committed, a Cullman, Alabama grand jury, in January of 2008, inexplicably decided -- in a closed hearing -- not to indict Pennington on any charge which included involuntary manslaughter (a felony) and criminally negligent homicide (a misdemeanor). Basically the Grand Jury decided there was no need for a trial since in their eyes no crime was committed. Therefore Brett will not stand trial for his actions and thus walks away without any legal consequence.
Kapali being an outsider may have played a part in the handling of the case by the media. To illustrate this point, we can note that the local newspaper -- The Cullman Times -- printed a series of completely unsubstantiated stories in which they described Kapali as threatening and even pushing down both Gina Mason and Brett Pennington. In one of the severely flawed iterations of their story, they even went so far as to quote the principle investigator of the case as saying that Kapali punched Brett Pennington to the ground. Yet despite this newspaper continually misrepresenting the case and assailing Kapali's good name, they refused to print any corrections; the local media continued to insinuate that the whole event had amounted to a case of self-defense on the part of Brett Pennington, even though the perpetrator did not have a single mark on his body except the bruised fist he used to kill Kapali, and two independent witnesses insist that Kapali did not touch Pennington. Everyone who knew Kapali has mentioned over and over again that Kapali was a gentle soul, a true gentleman, and would never hurt anyone, he was not a fighter.
Even at face value one can appreciate the travesty that has transpired here, with a young man robbed of life and his assailant set free.
But those who know Kapali recognize the full depth of this loss and subsequent injustice. He managed to touch the lives of so many individuals and made a tremendous impact on everyone he met along the way by sharing his incredible passion for life!
48. Petition against redneck values
There are racist rednecks amongst us, and their voice is often much louder than those of us who enjoy living in a multicultural society.
Individuals have the right to choose their religion. God Himself does not impose his values on us or force us to follow him, so therefore why should racist Australians force their world view on those who chose to believe the (ironic and often unsung) second verse of the National Anthem that says, "For those who come across the seas we've boundless plains to share"?
This petition attempts to give a voice to those who wish all Australians, old or new, whatever their religion or nationality, joy, peace and happiness.
49. Australians to say NO to racial politics
The decision by the Australian Government to cut the African refugee intake, and the comments by Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews about Sudanese refugees, have alarmed many Australians.
It seems that in the lead up to the federal election, the government is playing the dirty game of racial politics once again.
The Australian African Network Inc wants to rally support from all Australians to say NO to racial politics.
50. No re-entry for Emily Parr on Big Brother 8
Emily Parr was removed from the Big Brother 8 house for using racially offensive language. Since then the few fans she collected in the week she was in for have tried to excuse away her behavior and to get her back into the house by any means knowing that it would validate all the excuses that have been trotted out.
She should not be allowed back on the show and should not be allowed to feel all the pathetic excuses she has used to mitigate what she did have been believed at all.
51. Stop Honoring Gandhi With UN International Day of Non-Violence
The United Nations recently chose October 2nd as an "International Day of Non-
Violence."
This date is the birthday of Mohandas Gandhi, and was chosen in honor of the
man most consider an icon of nonviolence.
Gandhi was once asked by a reporter to give a message to the people. Gandhi
replied, "My life is my message." That's an ominous statement to those aware
of Gandhi's less-popularized beliefs. For the past sixty years, India has used the
mythical image of Gandhi as a pacifist hero as a vehicle to promote its agenda.
The reality is that Gandhi was a first-class racist committed to cloaking
deception and violence in pacifist terminology. It is appalling that the UN, which
was formed in part to facilitate international social progress and human rights, is
so blatantly promoting this man.
Gandhi's writing, compiled in an uncensored series of volumes by the
Government of India, is liberally sprinkled with verbal violence against the black
South African natives, who he termed "Kaffirs." His animosity towards black
people is almost tangible and his racism is undeniable. A brief but shocking
example illustrates Gandhi's racism.
He lived in South Africa prior to Apartheid, but at a time when the nation still
suffered segregation. In the city of Durban, there was a post office with two
doors - one for blacks and Indians and another for whites. Gandhi, of course,
was required to use the door for blacks and Indians. This deeply offended him,
not because of the segregation, but because he was "forced" to share a door
with blacks, which he felt was beneath him. Gandhi successfully lobbied to
correct this "problem" by building a third entrance for Indians, thus further
entrenching the South African policy of segregation.
In his Collected Works (CWMG), Vol. I, pp. 367-368, Gandhi wrote: "For the
present our efforts are concentrated towards preventing and getting repealed
fresh legislation. Before referring to that, I may further illustrate the proposition
that the Indian is put on the same level with the native in many other ways
also. Lavatories are marked 'natives and Asiatics' at the railway stations. In the
Durban Post and telegraph offices there were separate entrances for natives and
Asiatics and Europeans. We felt the indignity too much and many respectable
Indians were insulted and called all sorts of names by the clerks at the counter.
We petitioned the authorities to do away with the invidious distinction and
they have now provided three separate entrances for natives, Asiatics, and
Europeans."
When it came to pacifism, the quality for which Gandhi is most admired, he was
no better. Shortly before his assassination, as documented in his "Last Phase,"
Vol. II, p. 326, he said, "If we [India] had the atom bomb, we would have used
it against the British."
At the turn of the 20th century, during the Second Boer War, Gandhi
volunteered to raise an Indian stretcher-bearer corps for the British Army.
Considering Gandhi's fervent racism, it's no surprise he wished to help suppress
the blacks of Africa. During the war, the British were responsible for the deaths
of approximately 20,000 black Africans, many of whom starved to death in
British concentration camps while Gandhi's stretcher-bearers assisted British
troops. Gandhi unwittingly accused himself of culpability for these deaths when
he wrote in his autobiography: "He who volunteers to serve a band of dacoits
(robbers), by working as their carrier, or their watchman while they are about
their business, or their nurse when they are wounded, is as much guilty of
dacoity as the dacoits themselves. In the same way those who confine
themselves to attending to the wounded cannot be absolved from the guilt of
war."
Gandhi's pacifism was eagerly abandoned whenever expedient. Although he
once said there were "no causes that I am prepared to kill for," in 1920 he
wrote, "When my eldest son asked me what he should have done, had he been
present when I was almost fatally assaulted in 1908, whether he should have
run away and seen me killed or whether he should have used his physical force
which he could and wanted to use, and defended me, I told him that it was his
duty to defend me even by using violence." (CWMG, Vol. XXI, p. 133)
Nonviolence was hardly useful in preventing Gandhi's death, so of course others
more capable of violence than himself were justified in defending him, his
unwillingness to "kill for [any cause]"be damned!
It is impossible to fully document Gandhi's abundant problems and hypocrisy in
such a short letter. Let us simply say that he never remotely epitomized
humanitarianism, social justice, or superior morality. According to G.D. Birla’s
"In The Shadow of the Mahatma," Gandhi told the British during WWII that
"Hitler is not a bad man." Should a man with such a warped moral compass be
distinguished as a symbol of nonviolence?
The Gandhian state of India is one of the most violent nations in the world
today, having overseen the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Christians,
Muslims, and Sikhs over the past 20 years. The myth of Gandhi is merely
packaged propaganda developed to benefit those in India who seek to hide their
violence by wearing his mantle of faux nonviolence.
In an age when circumstances force us to wage war against ideologies, the
world cannot afford to assist or even allow the continued propagation of the
Gandhi ideology. If we are not careful we might one day be forced to engage
Gandhism.
We are fed up of all the racism that goes on in the big brother house.
53. Two Australian journalists, were Kidnappés by the POLISARIO
There is more than two weeks, Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala obtained the permission of the polisario to work in Rabouni and the refugee camps. The interested parties paid their second visit in the area. The two journalists were invited to pass their stays in the tents of a family to the camps of Aousserd. During two weeks, they carried out films on the life of the refugees.
On May 1 before midnight, the journalists informed a family member having accomodated them whom they were to leave the tents to go in another place. This information came from to the safety of Polisario, which started to seek the journalists. On May 2 with 11:00, the person in charge of the protocol of the polisario received a call of the Australian MAE, calling upon a “kidnapping of journalise”. Less than one half an hour after, Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala were found with the inn of a cuban doctor, where they hid.
The Director of the Safety of the POLISARIO, Mohamed Wali Akeik, stopped Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala. According to the carried out investigations, the interested parties carried out a film on slavery and racism in the refugee camps sahraouis. They described a slavery-racism ratio within the same family, divided into two according to the colour of its members. Alleged the " slaves noirs" belong " with the Master blanc".
When the film was carried out, "esclaves" asked the journalists to pay attention to their safety because the POLISARIO followed their activities.
Mr. Danial Fallshow and Mrs. Violeta Ayala then took the video-cassettes of films carried out and tried to flee the zone sahraouie. They called by telephone of the parents in Australia, announcing to them that the unknown ones kidnapped them. This information was transmitted to the Australian authorities, which invited the FP to take the necessary measures to find the missing journalists.
The Spanish word negro originates from the Latin word niger, meaning black. In English, negro or neger became negar and finally nigger, most likely under influence of French nègre (also derived from the Latin niger).
In Colonial America, Neger (sometimes spelled "neggar") prevailed in northern New York under the Dutch and also in Philadelphia, in its Moravian and Pennsylvania Dutch communities. For example, the African Burial Ground in New York City was originally known as "Begraaf Plaats van de Neger."
In the United States, the word nigger was not always considered derogatory, but was instead used by some as merely denotative of black, as it was in other parts of the English-speaking world. In nineteenth-century literature, there are many uses of the word nigger with no intended negative connotation. Charles Dickens, and Joseph Conrad (who published The Nigger of the 'Narcissus' in 1897) used the word without racist intent. Mark Twain often put the word into the mouths of his Southern characters, white and black, but did not use the word when speaking in his own voice in his autobiographical Life on the Mississippi.
In the United States, the word was freely used by some whites and blacks until the Civil Rights Era of the 1960s. It seems that the word acquired a pejorative meaning in the Northern United States before acquiring the same connotation in the South.
55. Stop the uninformed foreign hatred of China
Many people are misinformed about the Chinese culture, and believe that they are taking a stance in activism by attacking it. This petition is to support a strike against the misinformation.
Abolishment of traditional Chinese- The UN is the one who is attempting to abolish traditional Chinese. China accepts the use of it around the country, and almost exclusively in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"Mass execution"- The definition of a mass execution is when many people are executed at one time. The term is incorrectly used. It is true, in the last decade, over 13,000 have been executed in China. The US says it itself, on the American government website travel.state.gov: "China has a low crime rate."
In 2004, there were 16,000 US murders, and in China there were 20,000 murders. China has almost five times the population of china. Meaning that US has 400% China's murders per capita. If people in China were murdered at the same rate, there would be 80,000 murders per year, which equals a net number of lives saved of 60,000 per year. Over 10 years that 600,000 people. By executing 13,000 criminals in a decade, China saved 600,000 innocent lives. Anyone who is against China's death penalty is supporting those 600,000 would-be deaths.
Communism - Any person with a dash of common sense who's been to China knows that it isn't actively Communist. Ask any resident of China, and they'll reply the government has basically zero control over their lives. A few of the big things are:
The only gun licenses granted in China are for 1. Security companies and 2. Hunting zones, where you rent their gun
Land has to be leased from the government from long periods of time, you can't actually own the land. The upside is that the government can't stop selling you the land. If you have a lease for land, they HAVE TO let you purchase a new lease. The leases are also extremely inexpensive.
Falun Gong Organ Extraction- There's no evidence for this or against it. I'm not saying that it didn't happen, I'm just not going to simply concede that it did happen.
Dog killings - 90% of the dog fur sold in the US is from the US. And don't even start about it until the horse slaughterhouses in the US are shut down.
China News=Propaganda - The most recent news articles in China were The Lotus Awards (China's version of the Academy Awards), the newly built railroad to Tibet, and the UN's new research findings on world pollution.
Taiwanese Independence - Taiwan can hardly be called corrupt free. In 2004, 300,000 Taiwanese residents protested the corrupt election. Leader Chen-shuibian was shot, and many people believed it was done as a way to find sympathy and for him to win the reelection.
Corruption scandals dominate Taiwan's election
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/asia/article2059996.ece
20% of Taiwanese believe they are independent.
20% of Taiwanese believe they are the true China, and should control themselves including mainland China. We don't give the US control of the UK, and the Taiwanese shouldn't get it either.
40% of Taiwanese believe they are part of mainland China.
20% don't care.
So next time you decide to bash China, ask someone who's been to China before.
56. NO to racism
"There is only the one race which is so obviously inferior to all others. They
are killing themselves with Aides, Crack, and Crime. The world will be far
better when that unproductive race is gone"
-jimmyhogjowels
" jimmyhogjowels is right
i dont mean to be racist, but africa is the un productive race, they dont work
they kill in gangs, and look at africa...its a fucking shithole.
why? because black people run it"
-killsy
Ignorance destroys the world.
RACISIM
Words can cut deeper than any knife
They can hit harder than any punch
Whoever came up with 'sticks and stones'
Has never really known
The pain of racisim
What is it
That makes someone superior
To another from a different race
What gives someone
The right to pass judgement
On anyone
What does it matter
How someone looks
Or what colour they are
Skin is what protects our inner organs
Does it really matter what colour it is
As long as it's doing it's job, right?
When you cut it open
Don't we all bleed the same?
Aren't we all the same on the inside?
Don't we all have hearts, lungs and livers?
Despite our races
Don't we all cry over similar things?
Don't we all laugh at similar things?
Don't we all need air to breath?
Food to eat
And water to drink?
Don't we all have wants and needs?
Don't we all have desires?
Don't we all hurt?
When you really think about it
Don't we all have more in common than we have in differences?
We are all human
We are all people
Our only difference is how we look
Has anything really changed all these years after the slave trade?
Do some races still think they're more superior than others?
Haven't we all matured just a little more since then?
After all these years?
Yesterday I was on youtube.com and came across an animated clip called The
N-word. After watching it I scrolled down to have a read of some of the
comments people made. I came across these two comments:
"There is only the one race which is so obviously inferior to all others. They
are killing themselves with Aides, Crack, and Crime. The world will be far
better when that unproductive race is gone"
-jimmyhogjowels
" jimmyhogjowels is right
i dont mean to be racist, but africa is the un productive race, they dont work
they kill in gangs, and look at africa...its a fucking shithole.
why?
because black people run it"
-killsy
and needless to say I was shocked at how amazingly callous and short-sighted
people can be. I mean I know there are some really racist people out there but
this was just shocking. One person is basically wishing for a whole race to
just die and the other is agreeing with them. Jimmyhogjowels is lumping every
black person together. He's making a generalised statement. I'm not trying to
defend all the blacks that do crack, have aids or rob people. What they do is wrong, I know that. But you can't say that blacks are the ONLY people that do crack, have aids or are into crime. And that slur about being unproductive,
what about Oprah. She suffered such a teribble childhood and had the strength
to live and make something out of her life. She has donated millions to charity and has helped many people have a voice on her extreamly popular, internationaly watched TV show, she has touched many people and changed many others lives.
What about all the black comedians out there who make thousands, no millions of
people laugh? What about Condolisa Rice? What about Martin Luther King Jr?
What about Malcom X? But I can hear Jimmyhogjowels disagreeing that any of that is productive or makes us any less inferior. Sure blacks didn't invent anything or come up with the relativity theory, but that doesen't mean they're any less productive or inferior to whites. But they were really strong, they coped alot of shit. So please Jimmyhogjowels, stop trying to make yourself sound intelligent by using big words to structure your racist shit, have you even read African history? Do you know what they've been through? Judging by your increadibly weak argument on blacks you don't really know anything. How then can you pass such a harsh judgment when you know close to nothing about our history? About our productiveness or "unproductive"ness?
Killsy, just because you put ' i dont mean to be racist' in front of a racist
sentence doesn't stop you from being racist. You think Africa is a "fucking
shithole. Because black people run it". How do you know this? From all the
world vision adds on TV? From all the documentry's on Africa? From all the
pictures of starving kids with big, hunger stricken bellys? Have you been to
Africa and seen it for yourself or is the media your only source? Have you read any African history? Do you know what or who turned Africa into the shithole it is? I'm not saying there are no starving kids in Africa or that there is no poverty. It's there but Africa isn't only about poverty. Africa is very rich in agriculture, wildlife and culture. Africa actually has alot of possitive atributes, they just don't show them in the documentrys. As for Africa being a shithole, I've got one more question for you, was it a shithole before whiteman invaded it?
I'm just a fifteen year old black girl trying to make a difference. Lately I'm
more aware and selfconcious when I'm out in the public eye.
I'm sure millions
of other teens feel the same way across the world from all different
backgrounds. And I'm also sure that Jimmyhogjowels and killsy aren't the only
racists in the world but hey, a journey of a thousand steps begins with one
step. Please, please, PLEASE, put your name on this petition and send this to
all your contacts if you are not racist.
If you are it's about time to wake up and stop being so concieted.
"And one day he'll understand
And he'll see me as a person not just a black man "

The article in the Evening Standard dated 5th February 2007, and other papers, reported that the Saudi-faith school King Fahd Academy in London is using textbooks produced by the Saudi Ministry of Education which describe Jews as “monkeys” and Christians as “pigs”. They ask pupils to list the repugnant characteristics of Jews.
The books are very offensive to Christians, Jews and Muslims. The books have been taught at the school since September 2005 and the Ofsted inspection did not uncover them in March 2006.
The Biritish Prime Minister needs to take steps to ensure these vile practices are STOPPED and innocent Muslim minds are not corrupted.
"Islam" means peace and the faith teaches tolerance and understanding of all humankind but specially towards Jews and Christians who are considered closest to the Muslims.
58. Stop Racism!
Racism is Terrible! It has to stop! We should not make fun of each others backgrounds and religons. If there was no racism then we would all be more happy!
59. Celebrity Big Brother - racism must stop!
Racism against Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother. Channel 4 are doing nothing except trying to cover up the racism against Shilpa. Chief Executive Andy Duncan must be asked to resign and Tweed, OMeara and Lloyd must be evicted without our having to pay for telephone calls for protection against their racism.
60. Demand for Action, Responsibility, and Fairness from New York City Mayor
Throughout the history of New York City, police brutality against black residents has been a serious and unabated problem.
No city government has ever taken a firm stance against this problem, and consequently endorse such racist, violent, and inhumane treatment by New York City law enforcement employees against black and brown residents.
There is a long and intolerable line of victims culminating most recently with the brutal murder of unarmed Sean Bell and the serious injury of unarmed Joseph Guzman and unarmed Trent Benefield. These three unarmed men were fired upon without warning, in a storm of 50 New York Police bullets on Saturday, November 25, 2006.
