I wish it was the 1950s when ladies wore beautiful dresses and men wore button down shirts and slacks! the world was covered in happiness and glitter... sighs... should i become a Lesbian? i was not born that way, but i am easily influenced by others in this strange modern society.
I should probably do some good to humankind and join a convent (that part is serious!) the rest is kind of humorous. so lighten up! freedom of speech is awesome! please reply.
Help me believe that people still have morals in 2005. what should i do?

213. Yes to Same-Sex-Love
Same sex marriages should be allowed. What gives the government the rite to tell people to how they can and can not married? Our country is being run in a Christian life style.
Just because a percent of the country thinks it is "not proper" it does not give them the rite to make others suffer, for there differences. America is county of the free this is a country were it is not your race that determines you life but how hard you work and how bad you want it.
Well I want it to be an equal country as well, and let me tell you if you have not realized it is not. I am not saying people can not disagree with me but if you believe that it is wrong for a man and a man to love each other, that's your opinion. If I said it was wrong for you to love your wife or your husband, how would that make you feel? Not very good I presume.
Think about it you were taught from the day you were born that it should be a man and a woman. Well times change.
214. Get the hawkers off the streets of Ghana
The goverment of Ghana has allowed hawkers on the street because of "votes" and this is posing danger to both the hawkers and drivers alike.
I would be glad if the goverment will listen to the masses for once.
These hawkers were allowed back to the street during the bye-election, thinking they will win the election but unfotunately they lost the election.
Also there are too many accidents on our roads, and most of these accidents are caused by over speeding. So please help check these situations.
215. Make African-Americans' Right to Vote a LAW
Did you know that African-Americans' right to VOTE will expire in the year 2007? Seriously! The Voters' Rights Act signed in 1965 by Lyndon B. Johnson was just an ACT. It was not made a law.
In 1982, Ronald Reagan amended the Voters Rights Act for another 25 years. Which means that in the year 2007 we could lose the Right to vote!
Does anyone realize that African Americans are the only group of people who require PERMISSION under the United States Constitution to vote!
In the year 2007, Congress will once again convene to decide whether or not Blacks should retain the rights to vote (crazy but true).
216. Mississippi Infertility Insurance Mandate
Most insurance companies refuse to cover infertility diagnosis and treatment because they consider pregnancy and parenthood "unnecessary" and "optional".
It is our belief that every person should have the opportunity to be a parent.
217. Change Human Trafficking Punishments
Trafficking across the Mexico-Texas border is only a first-degree felony if the crime is done to a person 14 years old or younger.
Once the person is older than 14, the crime is only punishable by a second-degree felony.
House Bill 2096 needs to be amended to make trafficking of any human being the same first-degree felony.
218. Michigan Contraceptive Coverage
House Bill 5175 require insurance plans that provide prescription drug coverage to include contraceptives without any dollar limit, co-payment, deductible or co-insurance provision that does not apply to prescription coverage generally.
HB 5175 amends the Insurance Code Act of 1956.

These rights keep getting taken away so less crime will happen. But the Second Amendment gives the right to keep and bear arms.
220. Disengage from Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has proven a beast of burden to the United States. It also has engaged in Anti-American chants and protests.
Puerto Rico has proven to be a bad investment for the United States. Overall this small island of about 5 million inhabitants has cost us over 16 Billion a year, with little or no generated revenue.
Just a couple of weeks ago, a puerto rican freedom fighter was killed, in connection to armored car robberies in the late 70's. Upon the killing of this CRIMINAL, puerto rican nationals engaged in ANTI- AMERICAN chants and protest.
On top of that, these people have parades in OUR nation parading a flag that in actuallity doesn't exist. If these people truely want to be part of our nation, they must denounce their flag and uphold ours.

222. Abolish the (mandatory) death penalty in Singapore
Singapore has the highest execution rate per capita in the world. The death penalty is employed for drug, weapon and murder offences.
For many offences, the death penalty is mandatory, without the opportunity for the presiding judge to take into account any mitigating circumstances. This is a clear breach of the fundamental right to life.
Capital punishment is wrong.
223. Enforce the Marriage Broker Regulation Act upon all websites where foreign women seek American men
The International Marriage Broker Regulation Act of 2005 explicitly exempts companies such as Match.com and AsianFriendFinder.com where one can find thousands of foreign women who join for free with the hope that an American man, who pays for the service, will contact them?
How are the men who use Match.com, AsianFriendFinder.com, and FilipinoFriend Finder.com any different than the men who pay for a women's contact information on the foreign marriage broker websites?
Why did the lawmakers go out of their way to allow this to continue unregulated and not provide the same protection to foreign women who use the larger "mainstream" matchmaking websites? Are they hiding something?
Was some sort of deal worked out with Match.com and others? Clearly, the writers of this law are not be completely genuine to their cause.

225. Abolish Senior Citizen taxation on wages
Senior citizens in the United States have had to carry the economic burden of responsiblity of our counry throughout their youth.
With the curret affairs of the Social Securty progam little benefit will at best be available for many senior citiens. Currently, many Senior Citzens live below the poverty level and there is a wide increase of more seniors without adequate financial means.
Many impovished Seniors have no real choices to retire and so go on working in menial jobs just to make a living.
We the people ask that a law be signed that abolishes taxation of wages of Senior citizens age 55+.
THIS LAW WOULD REQUIRE ALL SEX OFFENDERS, RAPISTS, PEDOPHILES, ON THEIR FIRST OFFENSE TO BE MONITORED WITH AN ANKLE DEVICE during their entire lifetime or face a 50 year prison sentence, mandatory therapy/classes, and be kept away from anyone under 17 years WITHIN 5 MILES(residence) of a SCHOOL, CHURCH OR PLAYGROUND) and 50 feet on outings.
The sexual offenders must also allow law enforcement to enter their homes utilizing the "T.U.F.R. LAW", which would allow ANY law enforcement to enter the home of a convicted offender during a time of a possible kidnapping of a child under 17, that is in the area of not only the missing victim, but of the "MANDATORY REGISTERED" SEX OFFENDER, such as in the case of Jessica Lunsford, and many, many other innocent BABIES, KIDS, that have been mutilated, murdered, raped, sodomized, and "thrown away" like a piece of "trash".
227. Non Payment of Child Support Crimianl offence in Every State & County
As of now, if you reside in NC and are recieving family assistance from the Dept of Social Services and have an order for Child Support, it is handled though a "Case Worker" instead of an attorney. If the parent whom is ordered to pay, doesn't pay and falls in arrears, IF a warrent IS issued, it is a "Civil Warrent" making it unable for the Law enforcement to know anything about the warrant.
DeadBeat parents can get stopped for a traffic violation and never have to worry about getting caught for their support issues. The only thing they might have to worry about is the custodial parent getting an address on them. Here we are told "You find him/ her and we will pick them up."
This petition has been created to help convince Lt. Governor Brian Dubie that he can better serve his state, and the country by remaining in the Lt. Governor position.
229. Prepare & Sign Pleadings for the Indigent/Illiterate
Did you know that if you have an indigent, or illiterate family member, or a loved one with whom you have power attorney over, that you may NOT prepare and sign forms otherwise known as "pleadings" on their behalf in the court system?
It is considered a Misdemeanor; subject to a $500.00 fine on first offense, and possibly six months in prison. (At least this is what I was told today by the Alabama State Bar Association). The person requesting help from you, or needing your help, must hire an attorney. Otherwise, you must hire legal representation for them, but regardless; you cannot complete any legal form for them, even if they sign it themselves.
If you (or they) cannot afford an attorney and you (or they) cannot use Legal services a.k.a. Legal Aid; you are out of luck! If the person was not indigent or illiterate; they could complete their own forms without the use of an attorney. That is, if they wished to waive their right to do so, but due to the fact they are handicapped, cannot read nor write, indigent or illiterate, nevertheless... you are NOT permitted to prepare nor file on their behalf. You may not file with a Power-of-Attorney either. It does not matter the reason or the cause; it is still illegal and a misdemeanor. Obviously, there is a loophole within our justice system and it needs to be changed!

230. Recognize Diwali a National (observed) Holiday
Every year, students are granted the right to take off from school for religious holidays such as Christmas, Rosh Hashana, and even Yom Kippur. Yet, even as the Hindu inhabitance in America grows, the government has yet to recognize the universal hindu holiday Diwali as a day to take off!
It is not only a huge damper on the diversity that the United States gloats we have, but an inconvenience to those hindus who are required to be in school that day.

(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)
Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.
Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.
You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.
In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.
For all practical purposes their plan works like this:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments..
For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives.
This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.
Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.
Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA....ZILCH....
This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;
"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!
From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into,-every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer)-we can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement.
Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator! Bill Bradley's benefits!
Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.
That change would be to:
Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us
then sit back.....
and see how fast they would fix it.
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

235. Princeton University Call for Action in Darfur
When asked, "What can Princeton students do [to help]?", Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel responded, "Write a petition to the President. If every student at Princeton University signs it.."
Perhaps something can be done. Violence and destruction are raging in the Darfur region of western Sudan. Since February 2003, government-sponsored militias known as the Janjaweed have conducted a calculated campaign of slaughter, rape, starvation and displacement in Darfur.
It is estimated that 400,000 people have died due to violence, starvation and disease. More than 2.5 million people have been displaced from their homes and over 200,000 have fled across the border to Chad. Many now live in camps lacking adequate food, shelter, sanitation, and health care.
The United States Congress and President George W. Bush recognized the situation in Darfur as "genocide." Darfur, "near Hell on Earth," has been declared the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today.
Yet the administration has been slow to act on these declarations. The goal of this petition is to remind and encourage the President to act on his pledges.

237. Higher Military Pay
Military pay is substantially low. Military personnel put their lives on the line everyday to ensure that we are able to have our rights protected by the constitution.
They fight for our freedom to do the things we do today, like this, unlike the unfortunate people in other "third-world" countries. They die so we can live on in the freedom that our fore-fathers worked hard for.
238. Stop Illegal immigration into the US

This petition is to try and do something about the flow of illegal immigrants into the United State of America.
Immigration has left us with an unprotected border and suppressed wages throughout the entirety of our nation.
Between 12 and 20 million illegal immigrants are estimated to be living in the United States; due to the nature of illegal immigration, the exact number is unknown. The majority of the illegal immigrants are from Latin America. Illegal immigration has been a longstanding issue in the United States, creating immense controversy. Harvard University economist George J. Borjas explains that the controversy centers around the "huge redistribution [of wealth] away from [unskilled American] workers to [American employers] who use immigrants."
In 2007, President Bush called for Congress to endorse his guest worker proposal, stating that illegal immigrants took jobs that Americans would not take. The Pew Hispanic Center notes that while the number of legal immigrants (including LPRs, refugees, and asylees) arriving has not varied substantially since the 1980s, the number of illegal aliens has increased dramatically and, since the mid 1990s, has surpassed the number of legal immigrants. Penalties for employers who hire illegal immigrants range from $2,000-$10,000 and up to six months' imprisonment.
Political groups like Americans for Legal Immigration PAC have been formed to fight what they perceive as the threat of illegal immigration by demanding that the US enforce immigration laws and secure the borders. Several counties throughout the United States have chosen to deputize police officers as immigration officials.
