61. Please help South Essex Wildlife Hospital
July 11, 2006
South Essex Wildlife Hospital is a rescue, rehabilitation and public advice charity officially formed in 1995 by Sue Schwar as a result of there being no alternative wildlife facility in the area.
No sick, injured or orphaned animal is turned away, requiring that the hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our charity has been donated 3 acres of land on which to build a new hospital, as after 20 years we have out grown our existing accommodation. This land is within the green belt making it ideal for the care and release of many of the 10,000 patients per year that the hospital currently rescues.
Sadly some of the council planning officers do not consider our cause to be exceptional as they have denied us planning permission jeopardising the future of our charity.
Please add your details to our petition appealing against the council's decision and thus supporting SEWH's vital work enabling it to continue for many years to come.
62. Stop The destruction of Lymington
June 20, 2006
In common with towns across the UK the Town of Lymington is suffering from a rash of overdevelopment.
In the name of supposedly "Saving the Green Belt" developers are being encouraged by the UK Government to build at ever higher densities in the centre of towns.
This process has now gathered enormous momentum and the town now has numerous building sites as developers knock down good family houses to build block of retirement flats and second homes.
Unless the local council the New Forest District Council starts standing up to the developers and starts saying NO then the town as we know it will be lost for ever.
63. Remove condominiums from Cottage Grove Ave development plan
March 22, 2006
M.E.N.D., L.L.C. has requested rezoning from "R-2" to "R-4: Multiple Residential District located in the 1500 Block of Cottage Grove Avenue for development of eight 8-unit condos in addition to single-family homes.
The Planning, Programming and Zoning Commission held a meeting on March 7, 2006 at second floor of city hall, where it was requested to rezone this area to "R3-RP", and changed the number of condominium units to seven.
64. Keep the Charm of Our Oviedo Neighborhood
November 14, 2005
As you may already be aware the First Baptist Church of Oviedo is planning to building a new 176,427 sq. ft. sanctuary accompanied by two (2) 50ft. tall football field size parking garages (parking they may not even need), a cell tower all with minimal landscaping and buffering at its already land-locked location in downtown Oviedo.
The developer (First Baptist Church of Oviedo) is seeking approval for this expansion with a special Development Agreement with the Oviedo City Council on November 21st and December 5th, before the NEW Land Development Code (LDC) goes into effect, because the new code will be stricter.
65. SPORTS AREA & HOOPS AT PERRY PARK
OUR LOCAL PARK IS BEING RENOVATED AND THE PLANNING COMMITY HAD MEETINGS FOR THE NEIGHBORS TO SEE WHAT WAS WANTED IN THE PARK. I ATTENDED THE FIRST MEETING WITH MY 11 YEAR OLD SON AND WE VOICED THAT WE WANTED THE BALL AREA TO STAY FOR BASKETBALL AND OTHER BALL PLAY AND THAT WE WANTED FUN PLAY FOR SMALLER CHILDREN SUCH AS WATER PLAY LIKE SPRINKLERS, AND SLIDES AND SWINGS.
WE COULD NOT ATTEND OTHER MEETINGS FOR VERY GOOD REASONS, BUT ALWAYS SPOKE TO NEIGHBORS AND CALLED THE PLANNING DIRECTOR TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE GOING. UP TO THE FOURTH MEETING ALL WAS GOING WELL FOR US, AND IT ALSO INCLUDED WHAT OTHERS WANTED LIKE A GREEN AREA AND A DOG PARK.
THEN AFTER THE FOURTH MEETING EVERYTHING CHANGED. NO BASKETBALL, NO SPORTS, ALL GREEN, AND IT UPSET ME. I SPOKE TO CITY HALL, THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING, A STATE REP THAT LIVES ONE STREET FROM ME, NEIGHBORS, EVERYONE. MY LOCAL ALDERMAN HAS NOT CALLED ME AFTER THREE CALLS TO HER.
SO MY THOUGHT WAS A PETITION. AFTER TALKING TO THE STATE REP, SHE CONFIRMED MY THOUGHTS WERE RIGHT AND SAID PETITION. SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WERE SAID BY THE PLANNING DIRECTOR WAS THAT THEY WANT TO GET THE ELEMENT OUT OF THE PARK THAT PLAY BASKETBALL. SEND YOUR KIDS TO ANOTHER PARK. AWFUL THINGS. AND IT'S NOT LIKE I DON'T WANT A LARGE PART TO BE GREEN, OR TO NOT HAVE A DOG PARK, FOR I DON'T PLAY BASKETBALL AND THE GREEN AREA WOULD BE FOR ME. I DO RUN DAYCARE AND NEED CHILDREN THINGS LIKE SLIDES, SWINGS AND SPRINKLERS, AND A DOG PARK WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE DOG WE WILL BE GETTING SOON.
I JUST WANT TO SEE EVERYONE GET WHAT THEY NEED, AND THE PEOPLE WHO PLAY BASKETBALL REALLY ENJOY IT DOWN IN THIS PARK.
66. Stop Assessments to Orchard Estates 1st Addition
A new housing develpment is going to be added next to an established city area. The city is going to try to assess the cost of these new improvments for properties and develpment to our existing residents!
The new developer estimates to cost of this to the City of Dilworth a total of $2,250,000.00 This is a new twist to the plan as this was never discussed in any of the public planning meetings and hearings for this new housing devlopment.
How can the City of Dilworth think they can Make the exisitng home owners pay for the costs of the new developer expanding the city's housing additions??
67. Save the Mangalore Tiers from unsuitable Landfill
A proposal to site a landfill in a steep gully catchment area North of Hobart has been on the books for some 7 years. Despite it being against current best practice of not siting it in a gully/valley drainage area, this proposal is heading for a determination by the Tasmanian Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal.
The area has been described by the National Parks and Wildlife service as being a vunerable Flora community (wet E. Globulus) with significant conservation values.
68. STOP THE MANSIONIZATION OF DOWNEY
We request that the Downey City Council and City Planning Department uphold the existing Downey Municipal Code "9110.14 The architecture & general appearance of the building shall be in keeping with the character of the neighborhood and such as not be detrimental to the general welfare of the neighborhood in which they are located." which is a valid enforceable regulation under California law (Schroeder v. Municipal Court 73 Cal App3d 841.848 1977.
This means "As for instance in a ranch neighborhood in order to comply with Downey Municipal Code any potential buyer or developer of the property may only build a structure thereon which is consistent with the "ranch style" of all the other homes."
We also request that any code such as height and square footage be amended to fit this neighborhood code and regardless of other code allowing two stories, any home that is to be remodeled or built must still conform to the code to include 'scale of neighborhood'.
We oppose allowing Mansionization of Downey Neighborhoods as it disrupts the architectural integrity of our neighborhoods which we believe will eventually lower property values, as well as, that it disrupts privacy and a neighborhood's sense of place and well being.

Abney Park Garden Cemetery is a 32-acre historic park and nature reserve in Hackney, north London - one of Britain's poorest inner-city boroughs. Over the years it has become dense woodland, and is a unique place of retreat from the pressures of urban life. It is a national as well as a local treasure.
It is the heart of a Conservation Area, and the Council has policies to protect it from noise and disturbance. It is on the point of violating those policies by approving a school which will create noise and disturbance within a few feet of one of the most sensitive areas - the quiet corner where, in the 18th century, Dr. Isaac Watts retired to write his famous hymns.
A local community association, which is sponsoring this petition, welcomes a school in principle, but wants its scale and design to respect the setting and comply with planning policies.
Your signature will go to Hackney's head planning officer.
Our website (see above) will give you a fuller picture of what is at stake.
70. Stop Discrimination by Roy City Planning.
In the past 3-1/2 years I have spent $6000 in fee's, for annexation, plot plans and a water change to expand my home business. I have worked with Roy City Planning twice to enlarge my business in the home which it is in to in compass the entire home. I have another home to live in. My home is on
1-1/3 acres and a large aount of the ground in the surrounding area is zoned commerial..Now there is a WallMart coming .4 miles away from me on the corner.
Now the city is telling me that I cannot enlarge my business unless I do a fully commerical developement like a Conoco or strip mall. The city is stopping me from using my ground to enlarge my business because I don't have the money to do a fully developed business like the Wallmart.
I believe that Roy City should have told me this though $6000 ago. I don't think that when I have done what the city ask's me to do, that then they should be able to change the rules and deny me not once but twice in this game. So now I am writing my Congress, ACLU, Legislature and writing a petition.
71. Petition for a new stadium at Nantporth, Bangor, Wales
Gwynedd Council will shortly be considering a planning application for an all-seater stadium with capacity for 3000 spectators to be built at the Nantporth site, Holyhead Road, Bangor (pictured).
This is a great opportunity not just for the City of Bangor, but for the whole of North West Wales.
We are asking you to join us in calling for Gwynedd Council to approve this application.
72. Save the Cedar Tree in Slough, Berkshire
August 2004
The supermarket chain Tesco has applied for planning permission to rebuild their store in Slough, Berkshire. Their current proposal would result in the cutting down of a Cedar Tree.
This tree is around 150 years old and is not a common variety. This is a species called Cedrus libani (Cedar of Lebanon) and there are probably fewer than 500 decent specimens of this species in the whole of the UK. This tree is also protected by a Tree Preservation Order which can only be overruled by the planning committee of Slough Borough Council.
We believe that Slough Borough Council should deny this present planning permission and request that Tesco should re-submit proposals and plans that conserve and preserve this tree.
73. Save Hey Arnold
I read that Nickelodeon and Viacom International Inc. are planning to cancel Hey Arnold. Let Nickelodeon and Viacom International Inc. know that we like Hey Arnold.
74. More Choices for Senior Class Field Trip
This is a list of signatures of people who agree with the statements that have been made. We hope that you consider our opinion and allow us the chance to make a choice about expenses and where to go. Thank you for your time.
75. Amend Brown Master Plan, City of Ceres
In 1996, the City of Ceres approved the Brown Annexation. We are now in 2004, and the Dunmore Community is asking assistance to revise the old master plan in order to meet the new needs of the community.
76. Cover Trebisky Road Ditches
As you are aware of, West Nile virus season is upon us again and we are concerned of the possible breeding areas in our city.
This petition is to ask the city to install culvert pipes and cover the ditches along Trebisky Road because of the dangers of standing water in these ditches being a breeding area for mosquitos.
77. STOP CORONA RESIDENTIAL ZONING CHANGES
THE CITY OF CORONA PLANNING COMMITTEE IS PROPOSING TO DEVELOP WAREHOUSES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. THEY ARE PLANNING TO DEVELOP WHERE OUR HOMES CURRENTLY STAND. THIS PLAN WILL FORCE US TO LEAVE OUR HOMES WHERE SOME OF US ARE THIRD GENERATION RESIDENTS. MANY OF US ARE FAMILY AND LIFE LONG FRIENDS AND FEEL SAFE AND SECURE WITH OUR SURROUNDINGS.
78. Stop the Wal-Mart Supercenter
*Wal-Mart is planning to upgrade its Miles City location to a Supercenter, which adds groceries to its product line.
*The population of greater Miles City is comprised of roughly 11,000 persons and is forecast to contract due to out-migration during the next ten years.
*There are already three large grocery stores currently serving the greater Miles City area.
*Therefore, the addition of a Wal-Mart Supercenter to our market would likely decrease the market share of each of the existing grocery stores to critical levels and would put at least one regional grocery store out-of-business.
*When Wal-Mart moved its discount store to Miles City, several locally-owned independent retail stores were closed within months as a result of Wal-Mart's predatory pricing.
*Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer and second-largest corporation with annual revenue exceeding $245 billion, which equals the gross domestic product of five northern European nations.
*Wal-Mart controls 25-30% of the sales of consumer products in all categories.
*On average, Wal-Mart sales clerks earn $13,861 per year. The poverty line in the U.S. is $14,630 for a family of three.
*Wal-Mart is being sued by 1.6 million former female employees for systematically denying women equal pay and opportunities for promotion.
*Wal-Mart purchased $12 billion worth of Chinese goods in 2002, representing 10% of all U.S. imports from China.
*For each Wal-Mart employee hired in Miles City, it is estimated that seven jobs are lost from locally-owned businesses.
79. Save Days And It's Characters
This is a petition to save the characters being fired on Days Of Our Lives, bring back James Reynolds as Abe Carver and get the producers to listen to the fans to save the soap from becoming extinct due to bad writing, planning and plot lines! Please sign and circulate it around to as many people as you can think of!
80. Bring "The Asphalt Jungle" to DVD
The Asphalt Jungle is a classic movie, directed by John Houston and based on a W. R. Burnett novel. It is the story about Doc (Sam Jaffe) who is planning a jewel store robbery with Dix (Sterling Hayden), Gus (James Whitmore) and Louis (Anthony Caruso). The jewels will be sold to lawyer/fence Emmerich who, nearly broke and planning a double cross, puts up a front with the help of his "niece" Angela (Marilyn Monroe, in an early screen performance)! It got nominated for four Academy Awards (Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Screenplay)! It is truly one of the finest in film noir! But this truly one of a kind film has not been released on DVD?!
81. Stop the development of a mini trailer park
When we purchased our properties, land and/or home, we were advised that no new trailers or temporary living structures were permitted on Laurie Dr.
82. Stop the Planning of War in Iraq
Stop the planning of war in Iraq. All this war is about is oil. Bombing a poverty striken nation is horrible, and only a monster would do such. Bush is trying to finish what "daddy" started . Freeing Iraq from their dictator is crap.
83. Save S.A.D.I. (Stroke And Disability Information (Hunter) Inc.)
Stroke And Disability Information (Hunter) Inc., known as S.A.D.I., originally commenced in 1988 as an advocacy and information service to strokees and their families and was then called Stroke Recovery Hunter Outreach Centre. Acceptance of a government grant required that we drop the Stroke Recovery from our name and include all disabilities. The funding allows us to employ one full-time Coordinator and one part-time Clerical Assistant. The Management Committee is a body of volunteers and we have 2 - 3 volunteers who work in the office as well as a small number of volunteers who work in the community organising localised Stroke Recovery Clubs. Our aim is to provide help and support to ALL people with disabilities, their carers and families, especially strokees. We currently have a clientele of 2000 individuals. Funding is in the order of $55,000/year. Our funding body, Department of Ageing, Disability & Home Care in conjunction with Home and Community Care, is now planning to withdraw funding.
84. Support More Effective Scenic Protection in the Lake Tahoe Basin
Support the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's efforts to pass stricter scenic guidelines for building along the lakeshore of Lake Tahoe.
Save our Southend was set up to ensure professional soccer remains in Southend. The planning application to add to Southend's amenities, around a focal point of a new Stadium, together with a leisure and Hotel development on the Fossetts Farm Site, should be fully supported.
