South Essex Wildlife Hospital is a rescue, rehabilitation and public advice charity officially formed in 1995 by Sue Schwar as a result of there being no alternative wildlife facility in the area.
No sick, injured or orphaned animal is turned away, requiring that the hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our charity has been donated 3 acres of land on which to build a new hospital, as after 20 years we have out grown our existing accommodation. This land is within the green belt making it ideal for the care and release of many of the 10,000 patients per year that the hospital currently rescues.
Sadly some of the council planning officers do not consider our cause to be exceptional as they have denied us planning permission jeopardising the future of our charity.
Please add your details to our petition appealing against the council's decision and thus supporting SEWH's vital work enabling it to continue for many years to come.

The goal of this petition is to (plan A) convince the Walt Disney Company to remove the Jetix programming block from the Toon Disney channel's line-up, or (plan B) to convince them to launch an all new channel specifically for Toon Disney's older programming, classic Disney animated movies, and Mickey, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy shorts, ECT.
This channel would be similar to the successful "Boomerang" channel, which Cartoon Network launched in 2000.
In February 2004, Disney added a new action programming block called "Jetix"(which was already featured mornings on the ABC Family channel), which aside from "Gargoyles", featured absolutely no Disney cartoons. Instead, it airs these shows "A.T.O.M.", "Power Rangers" (which is not even animated), "The Tick", "Digimon", "Kong: the animated series", "Dragon Booster", "Daigunder", "Dungeons and Dragons", "Get Ed", "NASCAR Racers", "Oban Star Racers", "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!", "Silverwing", "Yin Yang Yo", "Jackie Chan Adventures", and more.
At first it wasn't so bad, as the Jetix block was only a few hours long each day, but as time passed it kept expanding, first to five hours on weekdays and a bit longer on weekends. Now Jetix is practically eating Toon Disney alive, airing from 7:00pm - 8:00am (13 hrs) on weekdays and 4:00pm - 8:00am (16 hrs) on weekends. EDIT: They just recently removed Jetix from ABC Family and now Jetix has extended even further and now has a lengthly morning block as well :-(
Now I am not trying to say that the Jetix shows are bad, actually some of them are quite good, but the fact remains, they do not belong on the Toon Disney network.
It would be a good idea to launch a separate channel for Jetix oriented programming in the U.S. The United Kingdom has a channel specifically for Jetix programming, so why not do this for the U.S. as well?
If this cannot be done, we would like you to consider launching an all new channel specifically for Toon Disney's older programming, similar to the successful "Boomerang" channel which Cartoon Network launched in 2000. This new channel could also feature classic Mickey, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy shorts and Disney animated features such as "Dumbo", "Robin Hood", and "Alice in Wonderland" as well.
By doing this you can keep both the Jetix block and the newer Disney cartoons you have put on the network, such as "Kim Possible", "Brandy & Mr. Whiskers", "Dave the Barbarian", "The Proud Family", "Lilo and Stitch: the series", and "American Dragon: Jake Long", while still keeping fans of Toon Disney's older programming satisfied.
In November 2004, a very large amount of programming that the network was originally intended for was removed from the line-up and has not been seen since then. Some of these displaced shows included "Darkwing Duck", "Goof Troop", "DuckTales", "101 Dalmations: the series", "Pepper Ann", "Bonkers", "Teacher's Pet", "Quack Pack", "Mighty Ducks: the animated series", "Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers", "The Weekenders", "Fillmore", "Lloyd in Space",, "TaleSpin" and "New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh".
We want these shows to be brought back to the channel along with "Jungle Cubs" and "Gummi Bears", which have not been seen on U.S. airwaves since 2001.

This Petition aims to convince the dutifully rightious Lazyboy (a.k.a. LazyMuffin) that he improved on the song "Bang Bang You're Dead" by the Dirty Pretty Things by speeding up the song and raising the pitch for his animation that was almost as rightious as himself.
This petition also hopes to persuade Lazyboy to provide the masses with a copy of the MP3 so we can all listen to the song away from our computers and thus dance like we are having epilepsies (and have a good excuse for it this time).

938. Justice for James Farrence Jr.

On March 31, 2005, 27 year-old James "Jimmy" Farrence Jr. disappeared from Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
Jimmy had less than $60 on him the night he disappeared, did not drive, and suffered from muscular dystrophy. He was extremely trusting and friendly.
On September 20, 2005, and again on March 11, 2006, just 21 days shy of the one-year anniversary of Jimmy's disappearance, his remains were recovered near the Lackawanna River in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The National Center for Missing Adults and the Carbondale Police Department have determined that Jimmy's death is suspicious.
For nearly a year, family and friends searched desperately to find Jimmy, organizing search and rescue efforts, addressing state legislatures and municipality representatives, networking with missing person organizations, and continually pressing for answers.
In July 2005, Jimmy's family submitted a large packet of information to America's Most Wanted with hope that his case would be selected for coverage.
Unfortunately, Jimmy was never listed on AMW's missing person list. In addition, AMW didn't respond to the family until June 2006, nearly an entire year after Jimmy's case information was submitted.
Supervising Producer Steve Katz offered words of condolences in a letter dated June 8, 2006, and stated that with less than one hour every week, they are not able to air Jimmy's story.
Mr. Katz went on to say that "there is power in numbers"; hence, this petition.
I am encouraging everyone who supports Justice for James Farrence Jr. to sign this petition so that it can be respectfully submitted to America's Most Wanted in an effort to convince the producers to air Jimmy's story.

Assam to Asom what's in a name?
Mr. Chandra Prasad Saikia, ex President of Oxom Xahityo Xobha, proposed, through the Assamese magazine "Gariyoshi" that the name ASSAM is not an indigenous one, and claimed that it is a word coined by the British during the colonial rule for their own convenience and therefore the name ASSAM should be changed.
Without discussing the merits of the suggestion with any official literary organization or any other entity, last February the government of Assam took the decision to change the name of the State from Assam to Asom. This decision was based on the above suggestion. The ruling congress party took this political decision before the assembly election.
This shows that we not only have serious problem in practicing the democratic values in Assam, but it also shows that there are some grave misconceptions even among the educated people in Assam regarding the origins of the names of the state: OXOM and ASSAM. This is rather a very sad and pathetic situation.
Mr. Chandra Prasad Saikia is wrong in his assumption that the word Assam is coined by the British. Local newspapers like Amar Oxom etc are asking for an open debate on the issue. Recently the joint Xahityo Xobha Monso of Assam also took a resolution against the spelling ASOM.
The Tai-Ahom and the Buddhist organizations in Assam are sending petitions to Government of India against the spelling ASOM. Moreover the decision of the Assam Government is still pending and it has not issued any notification to that effect.
No news paper from Assam has actually written any Editorial on the issue worth its name. Respected and prestigious English language news papers like The Assam Tribune and Sentinel, instead of playing a leadership role in the debate for the right spelling of the word ASOM or ASSAM have started using the name Asom.
By this blind adoption, The Assam tribune and Sentinel are trying to make it a fait accompli.
In a democracy there is no room for a hasty decision without any public debate to pass a political resolution. The government of Assam should give the arguments for their proposal to change the name of the State. It seems in Assam those who speak, they don't know, and those who know, they don't speak.
As there are several arguments in defence of the name Assam which existed before the British came to India, the Friends of Assam and Seven Sisters (FASS), we are voicing our strong opposition to the Government of Assam's hasty decision without any public debate to pass a political resolution for the use of the spelling ASOM.
Mr. Chandra Prasad Saikia who initiated the name change has not come forward to defend his contention. The cabinet decision by itself does not become automatic implementation. As the name Assam is enshrined in the Constitution, to change the name requires a Constitutional amendment.
For this reason we from the Friends of Assam and Seven Sisiters (FASS) would like to submit a petition to the to the President of India, Prime Minister, Union Law Minister, Governor and Chief Minister of the State resenting the recent move of the State Government to respell the name of the State as 'Asom' in English.
Please find enclosed the petition we are trying to push through. We know that this change does not necessary affect each one of you and that it may not impact your individual situations but we do hope you will on principle support us in asking the Indian government to react.

941. Metro Transit Authority Unfair To Disabled Riders

In Early August Here In Los Angeles, I, The Petition Writer, Disabled, Was trying to take the bus here in the San Fernando Valley. It was a day that had 100+ degree heat.
The Bus Line I was trying to take runs only once an hour. The first bus arrived after waiting for some time. The bus was packed! The few able bodied people that were waiting with me, were able to squeese themselves onto the bus.
When It came time for me, the driver just said "Sorry, we're full. There's nothing I can do." With that, he drove off. Another hour goes by, and the next bus shows up. By this time I'm over heated, dehydrated, and angry.
The second bus is also overloaded with riders, and I could'nt get on that one either. That's when I had enough.
I pulled out in front of the bus and said, "If I can't get a ride, then you are'nt going anywhere either! After a short time, the bus line supervisor arrived. At that time, I figured I got my point accross, and allowed the bus to go.
I explained the entire situation to the supervisor, He took a written report, and since then nothing else has been done to remedy the problem.
Due to consistent over crowding of busses in the San Fernando Valley during peak hours, the settlement made in the copied document on the attached page in 1998, is currently insufficient. Furthermore, MTA is currently in violation of this court injunction. And has been, ever since it was written.
Those disabled, are still being left behind. Particularly during the peak rush hour due to overcrowding.
Therefore, more must be done to give disabled, and elderly riders sufficient service. Many of the bus lines located in the San Fernando Valley, have running times of one hour.
During peak hours, weekends, and during the summer season, this practice is not only insufficient, but a danger to those who rely upon this service as their only source or transportation.
An elderly person, or anyone that is in a type of frail health should never be forced to wait sometimes up to an hour in summer temperatures of up to, or over 100 degrees, or forced to wait for upwards of another hour for yet another bus due to extreme over crowding during these peak hours.
Being subjected to such circumstances, is not only an inconvenience, but is a considerable physical danger to those placed in that situation. Furthermore it is negligent, and due to the bill passed on the previous page, of which they, "MTA" are as previously stated above, currently in violation of this court injunction..
This is a document petition designed to force MTA "The Metro Transit Authority" to place the proper amount of transportation needed during these peak hours in to the areas where they are needed most. And to abide by the court injunction placed upon them back in 1998.
The Answer To The Problem: This could be easily done so by pulling busses from other less used areas, to those areas that are more congested.
Furthermore, this signed petition would make "The Metro Transit Authorities", MTA's continued lack of proper action concerning this issue, a criminal act of negligence. And therefore should be subject to legal action to the fullest extent of law.
The following is a statement from MTA of its policy regarding disabled patrons. As you will read, it does not go far enouph to ensure the safety of its patrons. Below the statement is the changes that must be made to ensure the safety of not only those patrons that are disabled, or elderly but all patrons.
"Metro has procedures in place which are to be implemented when a wheelchair patron cannot be boarded. The following procedure is to be taken when an operator cannot board a wheelchair patron.
The operator must stop and explain to the customer that the bus is full and when the next bus will arrive. Central Instructions has been requested to re-issue a bulletin to operators to this affect. The operator must also contact Bus Operation Control and inform staff that a wheelchair patron was not boarded and the reason why. Bus Operation Control Staff will:
1.) Assign a Field Supervisor to the location to contact the individual.
2.) Check the following bus to determine available capacity.
3.) Contact the nearest Division to determine if there is an Operator and bus available to transport the patron." (End Of Statement Of MTA Metro Transit Authority Policy.)
As of: June,15-06, the above policy of MTA (Metro Transit Authority) is inadequate, and needs to be changed immediately.
The MTA (Metro Transit Authority) bus operator should immediately, after explaining to the disabled patron that the bus is full:
A.) Contact Bus Operation Control while still on site with that disabled patron.
B.)Upon contact with Bus Operation Control, the driver must confirm to the effected patron that the contact has been made, and that another bus is then being added to the affected bus line to relieve the overcrowding problem on that line.
Driver must then be able to tell the effected patron the time that added bus will arrive. The replacement bus must then arrive vary soon there after.
C.) A written record of when and where this incident has occurred is to be made.
D.) A weekly review of these records should be done so that during peak congested hours when incidents like this occur, a bus can then be added to the effected line or lines during those hours, to relieve the overcrowding, and allowing adequate access to both able, and disabled patrons.
E. Furthermore, during extreme heat, NO patron should EVER have to wait an hour or more for a bus. Many patrons that rely on this transportation system do so either because they cannot afford their own vehicle, or due to age, or physical disabilities of one form or another, are unable to drive.
For those that are in poor health, having to endure waiting for upwards of an entire hour during the extreme heat conditions of summer can, and no doubt have resulted in possible heat stroke, or worse.
This is policy is unacceptable, and is a danger to all patrons.
If MTA (Metro Transit Authority) can supply areas of Downtown Los Angeles with busses that run approximately every fifteen minutes, then they can supply the congested areas of the San Fernando Valley with buses that can run more often than just once every hour.
MTA (Metro Transit Authority) as a public service, needs to correct this problem, and must be obligated as a public service to take proper actions needed to protect the people that it serves. Failure to do so should result in a charge of negligence on the part of MTA (Metro Transit Authority), and should be therefore held accountable.

942. Keep Anthony Harvey Jr in the U.S.
Update June 24, 2006
Thank you to all that have signed the petition for Anthony Jr. The focus of Anthony's case has been changed.
Through numerous phone calls, letters, meetings, and outright begging, we have a prominent politician aiding in the case.
Unfortunately, Anthony Jr. will leave the country on July 2, 2006, however with this political connection it seems as though Anthony Jr. will not be gone as long as we originally thought. Thanks again.

The goal of this petition is to keep Anthony Harvey Jr. from having to leave the U.S. while his step-mother petitions for him to be here legally.
As an infant Anthony Jr was smuggled to the U.S. by his biological mother, who later abandoned him. He has been here ever since, he is now 18 years old.
For his primary education Anthony graduated from Pope John XXIII in Evanston, IL. More recently, he graduated high school from Loyola Academy in Wilmette,IL. He has been accepted and plans on attending Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the fall.
According to the law Anthony Jr has to leave the U.S. and return to his birth country, Jamaica, while his step-mother petitions for him to be here legally.
On the advice of Anthony's immigration lawyer he will have to leave the U. S. voluntarily while his I-130 is being filed through his step-mother.
If Anthony Jr does not leave the US by July 4, 2006 he will be subject to an automatic three year bar from the U.S. Allowing Anthony Jr to remain in the U.S. during the filing of the I-130 will give him the opportunity to continue his education.
If he has to leave the country at this time it will cause a huge setback in his education, since he could possibly be gone for over a year.
Anthony Jr. not returning to the U.S. is not a concern, due to having faith in the system. Also in Anthony's favor is the fact that he has a U.S. citizen step-mother who has been in his life since he was in the second grade.
We believe to send Anthony Jr back to Jamaica would put his life in danger, due to the report from the United Nations regarding Jamaica having one of the highest homicide rates. Also the fact that he has not been in Jamaica since infancy.
While in the U.S. Anthony Jr. has associated himself with peers and other individuals of good character who have been very instrumental in his life.
Again, we implore the Department of Homeland Security to allow Anthony Jr. to stay in the U.S. while his I-130 is being processed.

Many Celebrities have an income per film/job that tops that of a small 3rd world country.
I believe that the gross wealth of celebrities is appalling. Hollywood's high earners earn god knows how many more than the average family.
It is not fair that they earn such sums of money for starring in a 2 hour long feature or singing a few songs.
Many are without genuine talent and simply milk the fame of one song or film for the rest of their life. However, we as normal joes do not realise the potential comsumer power we have. It is us that make these "celebrities".
I want this petition to achieve something. Celebrities granted some do good work for charity but they don't exploit this enough. They don't make us aware of them as much as they should.
So I wish to petition Hollywood to make them aware of the consumer power we have and that talent should be rewarded and that celebrities should do more to help those who need it most and stop with the prada hand bags and 13 mansions.

For the second year in a row, parents at Point Clare Public School will NOT be receiving a midyear report on their child's progress.
The only written report being offered to the parent community is the end of year report.
The Department of Education's Policy entitled "Curriculum planning and programming, assessing and reporting to parents K-12" states that: Schools will provide parents/carers with a written report on their child's learning at least twice per year. The components of the written report will meet the Policy Standards. (section 1.3.3).
Written reports are valuable tools for parents to gauge how their child is performing, and to highlight any issues that their child is having within the classroom environment. For parents who work out of the home full time and who are unable to attend class interviews, a written report can be the first indication of any problem their child is having.
It is unacceptable to make this decision without informing the parent community and without asking for our input.
In accordance with this, we would like to ask you to sign this petition, if you would like to have a midyear written report for your child.

The riverside sheriff, san jacinto police, and the disrtict attorneys office refuse to prosecute because of racial prejudice toward the victim. I have informed Governor Arnold about the racism of riverside county in theor blatant refusal to prosecute the two dangerous pedophiles, he promised to respond and help, but nothing has been done.

For over more than 50 years the tibetan people have been occupied by the chinese governemant.
This occupation has led to the repressement and the torture of more than the threemillion tibetan people. for over 1.2million tibetan people has already die during the chinese occupation.
The beautiful culture of tibet was nearly destroyed when chinese soldiers burnt many temples and buildings who are are crucial for the religion and culture of tibet.
Still now the chinese gouvernement motivates chinese people to live in tibet by giving them bounties, wich leads to the financial repression of the tibetan people.
Still today, the tibetan people have little rights. They can't critisize the chinese gouvernement, they can't talk to tourists, they may not have picture of His Holiness The Dalai Lama...
Many people live still in foreign countries because they're afraid to go back. Even H.H The Dalai Lama isn't safe if he goes back.
That's why we have to make sure that the UN and other international organisations cause an international pressure upon China to make sure the Tibetan people can live in peace and harmony whit their religion.

956. Complaint against Eurid: need for fairer .EU domain registration

This petition has being made to sue Eurid. Eurid is the company who made a fortune by first letting 1400 parties pay each 10.000 Euros to become a registrar to registrar .EU domains. Now you do the math....thats right 14 million they have earned by only this.
What happened now during the sunrise period is that some smart people including myself, where able to get a national trademark registered for any generic names you liked. For example Porn.eu. What happend here is that 71 requests for this domain name have been applied during the sunrise period.
Because it is a first come first base rule being used, the person on position 1. is the lucky one if the paperwork was send in correcly by the registrar. Now in the case it has been Accepted and that means all of the other 70 applications are useless, unless someone starts an ADR(Alternative Dispute Resolution) against the decision of the Registry who is PWC (Price Waterhouse Coopers) in all cases.
To start an ADR you have to pay an amount of 1900 Euro to start is up, they ask such an amount to prevent everyone starting an ADR against any decission, but with an top-level domain like Porn.eu it is worth trying. This is whats happend against the decission on porn.eu, (see the star on the right of the accepted registration).
The person who started the ADR can be the one on position 3. or any applied registration where the documents are recieved (the box next to the decission that has being made.)
All of the documents recieved means that these persons have paid over 580 Euro's to registrer the national trademark on Porn or any generic trademark.
These people will not see any of their money back if someone in a higher position gets the name accepted.
