We the undersigned members of Blackfeet Nation are testifying that we hold in common the following four positions, which implicate the addressees in what we consider to be reckless activities:
2. Protect the endangered language Michif of the Metis peoples of Canada 
Demand that the Canadian government protect Michif, the language of the historic Metis people of Canada, and other endangered native languages in Canada. The Metis were historically the children of French fur trappers and Cree native women, they developed their own unique culture and language that was a hybrid of French and Cree.
In modern day Canada Metis is also defined by being of mixed European and Aboriginal ancestory. There is a desperately strong need for more resources for people who wish to learn Michif, such as teachers, courses, classes, Resource Centres, books, magazines, websites & audio files such as CD's and MP3 files. Very tragically, this language is so endangered that only an estimated 500 people speak it.
The language Michif and other native languages are in serious threat of extinction due to horrible moves by the Canadian Government including Residential Schools.
The Metis were a valuable culture in Canadian history must be protected!
3. Eradicate Asian Bees from Australia
Asian honeybees compete with managed European honeybees for floral resources. They rob honey from managed hives, which may cause hives to die from starvation. Most importantly, Asian honeybees are a natural host for varroa mites, a major threat to Australia's honeybee industry. Asian honeybees also carry other unwanted bee pests and diseases.

4. Stop Marmong Point development and Save our Birds and Bushland
Petition to stop the proposed development of the retirement village and road and save our birds and bushland.
Due to the wide, rare, and diverse variety of bird and other native animal life that depend on the pond and surrounding bushland for food and shelter in the proposed area of development for the retirement village and road in Marmong Point, development application number : DA/2233/2010, also due to the impact on the environment of this fragile eco-system and the reduction of the nature corridor and habitat by the removal of trees, we are strongly opposed to this development.
5. Revoke Charges Against Jammie Thomas Rasset
Jammie Thomas-Rasset, a Native American woman from Minnesota and a mom of four, was fined $1.5 MILLION (to be paid to Capitol Records) for illegally downloading and sharing 24 songs on the file-sharing network Kazaa.
Thomas-Rasset says she cannot pay the amount ordered, understandably. She has also said that she will have to file bankruptcy because of this. My argument is that $1.5 Million is an extremely excessive amount of money to fine someone for downloading music.
I'm sure many will agree that the charges are completely ridiculous and deserve to be discarded or greatly reduced.
Cadbury Yowie, first launched in 1997, invented by Bryce Courtenay and Geoff Pike. Yowies were 27g Cadbury Dairy Milk moulded chocolate foiled characters which contained a capsule holding a token and a creature from the Australian Bush, explaining the rarity value, existence and habitat.
In mid 2005 the Yowie was removed from sales in Australia and New Zealand.
7. Adidas Stop Using Kangaroo Leather
Australia has the LARGEST killing of any land animal. The kangaroo is a NATIVE species, which is a symbol on our national coat of arms.
In 2009 the quota of kangaroos to be shot was just under 4 million. This does NOT include at-foot or in-pouch joeys that are killed by blows to the head by shooters.
8. Support The Heritage Of Pine Ridge Reservation

9. Preservation of Bushland at Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University management have no plans to maintain the majority of bushland areas on the university grounds. It is likely that these areas will be flattened for future development.
Why is this important?
- ECU campuses are known for their iconic Australian bushland surroundings.
- There are currently no intentions to preserve extensive areas of existing bushland at ECU Joondalup campus.
- Urbanisation is a major contributing factor toward climate change, clearing native bushland areas will promote an environmentally irresponsible image for ECU in this respect.
- The bushland areas support a range of native wildlife.
- The surrounding bushland at ECU provide a positive and relaxing learning environment for students.
- These areas are valued by the community outside of ECU.

10. Create Cat Laws in Australia
There are currently NO cat laws in Australia.
Cats a getting out of control.
They destroy our native wildlife, wander the streets, getting into garbage, Breed excessively, fight with other cats, males 'spray' in other people's yards to mark their territory from other cats, even if that person does not own a cat or dog. They run across people's roofs & fight.
They are also a danger to themselves, by running across roads, getting attacked by dogs, getting trapped in small confined spaces or up trees & power poles.
Irresponsible owners allow the cats to wander, fail to have them desexed & quite often own a large number of cats, well in excess of over 2 or 3 cats. When this occurs, the odor of cat urine on the property or neighbouring properties is disgusting & annoying, they fight in neighbours yards, kill birds & other small animals & become a nuisance to everyone.
Cats are not required to be licensed. There are no cat laws for a cat that is constantly noisy or meows a lot or if a cat is mistreated.
The animal laws in Australia are way out of date, far behind & need updating to include cats.
Thousands of cats become strays, are run over on busy roads or are put to sleep every day.

11. Andrew Jackson Twenty Dollar Bill Removal
Andrew Jackson drove thousands of Native Americans from their home land. Thousands died on their way to their relocation.
Jackson put money into pet banks instead of the Bank of The United States causing an economic meltdown. Men like this should not be on our currency.
12. Reinstate Our ACT Kangaroos onto The Rehabilitation Licence
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TO HELP REINSTATE THE FULL TERM REHABILITATION OF OUR ACT SICK, INJURED, ORPHANED NATIVE EASTERN GREY KANGAROOS (EGK's), onto the ACT Rehabilitation Carers Licence. Kangaroo meeting with Maxine Cooper, Commissioner of Sustainability and Environment, in her office on Thursday 14/10/10, that included discussions on full term rehabilitation for sick, injured, orphaned native Eastern Grey Kangaroos, which Maxine's dept is investigating.
Nora Preston has requested that a new expert advisory committee be David Croft, Nora Preston, Dror Ben-Ami, Daniel Ramp, Keely Boom, to replace all the unqualified non expert advisory committees.

These animals mentioned below are all dead, however, the fight still goes on, to turn the site into Wildlife Carers Group proposed city Kangaroo Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, in tribute to the kangaroos that were needlessly tortured to death, under the rspca's watchful eyes, who then inappropriately claimed that this massacre was humane.

These kangaroos have suffered enough and will not survive any relocation, which will cause acts of animal cruelty with this type of research, they must be left alone on the site where they have lived safely for their entire lives.
Nora Preston, The Founder/President of WCG - Wildlife Carers Group http://wcg.awardspace.com began rehabilitating wildlife in the early '80's.
ACT EGK's were rehabilitated in carers back yards, with their fences extended, to prevent them from escaping.
Our ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Eastern Grey Kangaroos were removed off our rehabilitation licence in mid 1980's, to prevent us from rehabilitating our sick, injured, orphaned NATIVE Eastern Grey Kangaroos, (EGK's) claiming, that our EGK's were not native to the ACT.
In 2005, Nora Preston, President and Founder of Wildlife Carers Group, (WCG) applied for and was issued with a licence by TAMS (Territory and Municipal Services), with a Rehabilitation Carers Licence, to rehabilitate sick, injured, orphaned native animals/wildlife.
Nora Preston contacted the Licensing Officer and the Local Chief Minister Jon Stanhope of the Labor Party, and pointed out to them that our Native EGK's were indeed native to the ACT, that the licence was incorrect and needed to be amended, and to include the full term rehabilitation of our Native EGK's.
Nora Preston - WCG, received A formal letter from both Jon Stanhope and the Licensing Officer at that time, from tams, apologising for the error, and amended the licence, however, only amended rehabilitation for 48 hours, instead of the required full term rehabilitation, and then want the healthy animals destroyed.
Failing to amend the Rehabilitation Licence to full term rehabilitation of our sick, injured, orphaned EGK's, allows acts of cruelty, inhumanely and unnecessarily killing/destroying EGK's that are healthy, and have every prospect of a successful rehabilitation.
This ACT licence is being governed under an old 1996 report.
Furthermore, Research has been cruel by TAMS, with Bromocriptine fertility research, which is an oral administration, suppressing the milk from the joey, slowly starving it to death, page 64/65 in Report 3, or cruelly ripping the joey from it's mothers pouch, causing bleeding of the mouth, with further hemorrhaging, injuries, and death. These are all acts of cruelty, therefore in breach of the animal welfare act, and will have to stop.
This report will show how out of date the current advisory council is, working off a report, reported in August 1996, however, Report 1, page 5/6, that was stating a report in late 1994, also recommended that the culling must stop, because they 'were over culling our native kangaroos', and yet, the wildlife rehabilitation licence was never updated to include full term rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned native Eastern Grey Kangaroos to allow the recovery of the EGK's population, which has continued to rapidly decline.
Report 2, page 5, first paragraph, then contradicts Report 1, claiming that 'this licence specifically excludes Eastern Grey Kangaroos because of their abundance in the ACT', which is describing the Rehabilitation licence.
The ACT is the only state in Australia that cruelly prevents the full term rehabilitation of our sick, injured, orphaned Native EGK's.
The advisory council is made up of the kangaroo commercial industry, farmers, rspca, (who categorise our native EGK's as feral on their website, and insist on cruel killing, then claim that the inhumane killings are humane) etc, all who have a serious conflict of interest with kangaroos, and want them to be driven to extinction, with the mentality that 'wildlife can't live amongst humans' which was quoted to Nora Preston by the head ranger of TAMS, and the local government who was in charge of the environment file at the time, with absolutely no regard to the destruction they were causing to our environment, conservation of, or the animal rights and welfare.
It is time to put the environment, conservation of, and wildlife first, to be educated, come back into this century, civilisation, and start acting like civilised, educated people.
For animal welfare reasons, the Rehabilitation licence must be amended and to reinstate the full term rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned Native EGK's.
To prevent road kills, the shooroo needs to be modified, so that it can be activated in the vehicles, when travelling at any speed.
Saving and Caring for our Environment, Conservation, and all of our Native Wildlife.
13. Owning Wildlife in Pennsylvania
No one is allowed to own wildlife in pa.
You are allowed to own some kinds, But not monkeys, hedgehogs, or surgar gliders!
Only because they are not native to Pennsylvania!

14. Plant Native Trees in Public Spaces
Recent upgrades of the foreshore in Bayside Brisbane has seen beautiful, advanced, native trees removed to make way for ugly man-made structures and sparse plantings of small non-native trees. Where is the logic?
For a better chance of survival at lowest cost, and in order to attract native fauna, it is imperative to plant trees that are endemic to the area.
If the local council doesn't lead by example by planting endemic species in parks, the tax payers will not be encouraged to follow suit in their own backyards.
15. Make Native Title Data Available
WA mining companies are concerned at the time consuming task of accessing up to date information on the progress of tenement applications through the Native Title processes from the Department of Industry and Resources.
Currently tenement managers have to resort to regularly phoning the Department with Native Title queries creating ongoing and inefficient demands on the department and its resources.
They also have to wait sometimes for months for tenement applications to be advertised before they can take any action necessary. It is also extremely time-consuming to collate and update this information across multiple tenement applications.
As such, it would be extremely beneficial to tenement managers and the department to have a system in place that could answer native title queries across multiple tenements in a form easily integrated with in-house databases.
This would improve the overall consistency, time and transparency with which Native Title data can be accessed and used effectively.
16. Call for alteration of the United States flag
It has flown grandly in triumph and been raised defiantly in the face of defeat.
For centuries it has instilled in schoolchildren their first sense of something
larger than themselves, and it has accompanied countless men and women to
their final resting place.
In American life, it is the closest thing we have to a holy symbol. And it needs to
be changed as soon as possible.
Respect for the United States abroad stands at an all-time low. Once revered as
a bastion of freedom and self-expression, America is increasingly viewed abroad
as a ruthless bully, imposing its will on others not through persuasive ideas but
superior firepower.
Nor is this discontent confined to foreign shores; in recent polls, over 70% of
the American people stated that they believed their country to be headed in the
wrong direction. The collective perspective is calling for positive change. For the
sake of this nation, a new beginning is desperately needed. What better way to
symbolize a new course of action than to alter the very embodiment of that country: the American flag?
We propose changing two of the banner’s white stripes to balanced stripes of
yellow. This is not merely a cosmetic switch. Yellow has powerful connotations
that represent the ideals to which the United States wish to rededicate itself:
wisdom, intelligence, optimism, joy, energy and creativity. To some the idea of
altering the flag’s appearance borders on the heretical. But why is this? The fact
is that the Star-Spangled Banner has worn many faces since it was first
introduced in 1776. The map is not the territory: it is not the cloth or the
design that is sacred but the principles for which they stand.
By adding a new color to the flag, we are announcing to the world that we are
serious about moving in a healthy and sustainable direction. The yellow stripes
will represent a host of new ideas. America is a nation forged from diversity, yet
only two of the primary colors are present in its standard. With the addition of
yellow, all colors of the rainbow will be manifested.
Yellow and blue together create green, which could represent America’s new
commitment to the world environment. The yellow also symbolizes an honoring
of America’s Indigenous population. Our Native brothers and sisters are of
Earth-honoring traditions whose wisdom and knowledge have been tragically
ignored for far too long.
Adding yellow on behalf of America’s Native family would serve to heal the
ancestral wound and balance life perspective as we seek to thrive in peace and
oneness. We also propose that a professional class of environmental stewards be
created, composed primarily of American Indians, whose unemployment levels
are presently catastrophic. Such a step will move the color change beyond the
realm of symbolism and into meaningful real-world change.
The yellow of the rising sun announces the dawn of a new day. The yellow
stripes of a new American flag will similarly make an announcement: that we
are sincere about ushering in an era of respect, determination and reverence as
we address the many and serious problems that know no borders but affect the
entire planet.
17. Native American Civil Rights
Currently the governing body of the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians has excluded, denied and discriminated against enrolled members who live off the rancheria.
The governing body, which consists of a selective number of individuals who reside on the rancheria, have year after year, monopolized all elections, and have also closed voting rights to enable only a certain few to sit on each committee that makes all decisions which in the most part "does not" protect the best interest and welfare of the "entire" tribe as a whole.
The current governing body hides behind the facade "claiming" they have the best interest of the "tribe" in mind, but have attempted to ensure only "they" are to benefit from all elections.
Do we as AMERICANS REMEMBER WHY it was we voted for Proposition 1A?
Proposition 1A: is a simple constitutional measure that allows Indian gaming in California. It protects Indian SELF RELIANCE by finally providing clear legal authority for Indian Tribes to conduct specified gaming activities on tribal lands. It allows Indians to SHARE gaming revenues with non-gaming Tribes for use in education, housing, health care and other vitally needed services. DOES YOUR TRIBE actually do this?
Propostion 1A provides revenues for local communities near Indian Casinos for programing for gambling addiction and for state regulatory costs.
It provides for tribal cooperation with local governments and for tribal environmental compliance. The proposition claims that voters vote yes to protect Indian gaming on tribal land, so that the tribes can preserve the only option most Tribes have to get our people OFF of WELFARE. Has YOUR gaming tribe helped you get off welfare??? OR HAVE THEY REFUSED YOU HEALTHCARE or have they denied you, your share of federal grants obtained to take care of your health, education and housing needs?
Have they helped you obtain business loans to help you open your own business to better yours and other Native Americans lives?? Also, the peoples asking for Proposition 1A, in 2000 claimed... They were asking you (the Voters) to take care of ourselves and PAY OUR OWN WAY. But how many of these so called Gaming Tribes have actually done these things for their members and how many tribes have become GREEDY with their new found wealth and have closed voting rights to Native Americans of their tribe so as to keep their voting membership numbers to a low count enabling them to split revenues from their casino amongst a chosen few and to deny others whom they used to obtain large numbers to submit to the federal government in order to obtain grants in which these monies are denied to other Native Americans if they are not one of the so called "VOTING" members.
I wonder just how many actually benefit from these revenues. DO YOU, as a Native American?
18. Protest Survivor's Racist Stereotypes
This is a petition to urge CBS to apologize for the use of degrading stereotypes on the Thursday September 29, 2005 episode of "Survivor Guatemala".
PETITION TO CBS and Mark Burnett, producer of the reality show "Survivor Guatemala"
As citizens against racism in any form, we are deeply offended by the degrading misrepresentations of Indigenous culture that were broadcast on the CBS primetime show, "Survivor Guatemala". The producers of the show demonstrated a shocking lack of intelligence and sensitivity in airing a program that demeaned and stereotyped a race and culture with a long history of cultural and political struggle in South America, the Mayan Indians.
We are forming this petition to put CBS and its sponsors on notice as to how much business they can loose through repeated racial insensitivity, not just from Indigenous Americans, but from all American consumers who possess a social conscience.
Cause for Petition
1.) CBS has an extremely poor track record in terms of presenting Indigenous cultures respectfully and accurately. In 2004, they broadcast a performance by Outkast which mocked Native Americans by presenting non-Natives in day glow green fringed outfits behaving in an offensive and stereotypical manner. While this performance precipitated cries of outrage from Native Americans around the country, CBS has yet to correct its attitude toward Native Americans. CBS has again demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice sanctity for profit and an unacceptable tolerance for racist stereotypes in its programming choices.
2.) On Thursday, September 29, 2005 "Survivor Guatemala" presented a derogatory depiction of ancient Mayan warriors. The producers intentionally provided the contestants with fake feathers, war paint and Mayan style headbands and encouraged them to engage in the mockery of traditional Mayan customs. The Survivor contestants' callous treatment of Mayan cultural and spiritual imagery, and by extension all Indigenous cultural and spiritual imagery, was insensitive, ignorant and offensive. The producers provided the contestants with materials which were clearly intended to impose a North American Plains Indian stereotype on a distinct South American culture and to imply that all Indigenous cultures are inter-changeable. Neither the contestants nor the viewing public, were educated as to the richness and complexity of Mayan culture. The producers of "Survivor Guatemala" failed to honestly research the true spiritual and cultural significance of the objects used to objectify Mayan people and culture. This spectacle amounted to nothing more than a 21st Century Minstrel show.
3.) The producers of the show have been exploiting the Mayan aesthetic throughout the season. They have been actively encouraging the contestants to adopt the harmful stereotype of Mayan Indians as superstitious savages and promoting the racist and culturally uninformed perceptions of anthropologists and missionaries over the interpretations of contemporary Indigenous scholars. The traditions, history and culture of Indigenous Guatemalans have been used throughout the season as a mere gimmick for a trivial entertainment show and exploited for their entertainment value.
4.) There are currently NO redeeming Native American characters on the CBS network nor has there ever been a Native American contestant on "Survivor". Throughout CBS's programming, Native Americans are almost never depicted as contemporary citizens with something valuable to contribute to society.
5.) CBS continues to offer programming where stereotypes dominate in portrayals of Native Americans and to cater to the racist expectations of an uninformed public. They violate their own stated goals regarding diversity in trivializing and distorting Mayan culture for American consumption.
6.) The producers of Survivor have been irresponsible in failing to present the realities of everyday life of contemporary Mayan Indians living in Guatemala. They offered the legitimate political and cultural leaders of this community, no control over their own ethnic identity.
The Harm of Broadcasting Racist Stereotypes.
CBS is a major network with the obligation to use the public airwaves responsibly. Survivor, clearly the most blatantly racist show on network television, has ignored its obligation to respect and reflect the diversity of the public it serves. Instead, the producers have chosen to project negative stereotypes into millions of American homes. The distortion of Indigenous values to conform to the formula for a reality show, the use of campy immunity idols and other imagery and the deliberate objectification of a politically powerless cultural minority is damaging to everyone who views it.
It reinforces existing misconceptions and racial stereotypes in the non-Native population and it imposes additional barriers for Native youth in developing positive identities and in acquiring the self esteem necessary for full participation in American society.
When the producers of Survivor encourage non-Native contestants to appropriate Mayan culture for the sole purpose of winning $1 million dollars, they have every incentive to reproduce derogatory stereotypes for the audience's entertainment and no incentive to put any effort into respectfully learning about and appreciating the diversity and complexity of Indigenous cultures.
This teaches the viewing audience that it is acceptable to rely on stereotypical images and that no effort to discover the richness and inherent value of Indigenous cultures is necessary.
It further reinforces the idea that Native Americans need not be treated as full human beings and that it is acceptable to use them as fodder for play-acting. CBS has hypocritically ignored its stated commitment to promoting diversity and commoditized Mayan heritage in order to sell blockbuster movies, running shoes and automobiles. This corporate racial insensitivity is unacceptable.
Our Demands
We call on CBS and the producers of Survivor Guatemala to take immediate steps to mitigate the harm they have done by airing this episode on national television. We urge CBS to abandon its hypocrisy and follow its own diversity statement.
As broadcasters, CBS should aim to ensure that the national viewing audience is reflected accurately and respectfully in ALL its programming.
1.) The producers of Survivor and anyone responsible for providing the contestants with feathers and war paint should make a thoughtful and genuine apology on the program as soon as possible.
2.) CBS should end all non-Native portrayals of Native American culture. All information about Native culture should be presented only after the producers have sought out the consent, advice and permission from authentic Native American cultural and political leaders.
3.) Any information about Indigenous culture should be presented fairly and accurately in its proper cultural context. More Indigenous voices should be included in CBS's programming. A sincere effort should be made to include contemporary Native playwrights, film-makers, poets and rap artists in special programming designed to inform the audience about the realities of contemporary Indigenous American life as well as the historical foundations of existing racist stereotypes. Native people should be allowed an opportunity to express their own culture in their own voices.
4.) CBS should also make a sincere effort to include positive Native American role models in its programming, to broadcast Native produced programs and to include Native American actors as contestants in reality shows and as actors in its programs.
The Survivor Guatemala challenge was as appropriate as having a "Sambo" challenge for Survivor Africa. The Play-acting of stereotypes of Native American people is inexcusable in primetime American television.
We the undersigned will no longer tolerate cultural symbols used in such an insensitive and garish manner. We believe that the exploitation of cultural beliefs and symbols for entertainment must not go unchallenged.
If the producers of Survivor Guatemala do not make amends for their mockery of Indigenous culture, we will boycott the sponsors of the show. We also call on CBS to take definite steps to stop all its programming that depicts any racial group in a derogatory light.
We demand that CBS adopt and implement plans to air programs which emphasize cultural sensitivity and awareness and to refrain from ever again using racial stereotypes as a source of entertainment.

19. Muscovy Ducks to be designated as a Florida native species
We, the undersigned, are calling for the abolition of cruelty to Muscovy Ducks in the State of Florida and asking that they are designated as a Florida Native species.
One of the main reasons the Muscovy duck was brought here several hundred years ago, was to help keep down the mosquito and bug population. There are billions of insects on an acre of land, and the Muscovy ducks are worth their weight in gold at eating mosquitoes and insects; including mosquito larva. They also eat flies, maggots and roaches.
Muscovies do not cause pollution in the water and do not cause algae... they eat it, they do not cause it.
The Muscovy duck is very friendly and loved by many people who take the time to get to know them. There are a lot of lies spread about these ducks. These ducks are not aggressive towards human beings in any way.
They also do not carry diseases. As any living person or creature, ducks can occasionally get ill, just as any bird of fowl can, this does not mean they carry diseases. They are also very clean and take from 3 to 10 baths a day. Their droppings are soft and wash down with a hose very easy, and is also very good fertilizer.
The Muscovy has the nicest character of any of the breeds with a pronounced sense of humour/ very intelligent and head of any escape committee !

20. Make National Native American Day a holiday
In recognition of the Suffering of and the contributions by Native American people, I wish to see National Native American Day become a federal holiday.
The US recognizes other holidays in honor of great men and groups of people so why not Natives?
With a history that spans centuries, lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America. Rooted in Native American religion, lacrosse was often played to resolve conflicts, heal the sick, and develop strong, virile men. To Native Americans, lacrosse is still referred to as "The Creator's Game."

The United States of America was created upon the basis of a eurocentric philosophy dripping with white supremist ideals. From the very beginning, America has been the number one terrorist in the world. It has institutionalized racism as well as supported and encouraged mass genocide of entire nations of peoples.
Contrary to popular belief, the first holocaust did not take place in Germany; rather, the first holocaust took place right here in the contegious United States. Hitler can be quoted as writing that his nazi regime had much to gain from studying how the Americans exterminated whole nations of native american peoples. The nazi concentration camps were based off of American indian reservations and the extermination and mass slaughter of over 100,000,000 native individuals. Our government signed treaties with these nations of peoples and continually turned around and broke nearly every single one of them. Native children were kidnapped and sent to boarding schools where they were forced to live their lives according to the strict Protestant ethic, taught to march and punished if they uttered a word of their native language. The popular justification at that time for the destruction of these children's ties to their native culture/way of life was "kill the savage to save the man." History books teach Americans to think of Indians/Native Americans as savages, when in reality, the Americans were the savages. Scalping is commonly associated as one of the savage behaviors native american's displayed. This is inherently false. Scalping came about when the federal and state governments offered a reward for native american scalps. Americans were the scalpers, not the native americans. In some instances people would get money for a native's head, then turn around and scalp the same head to receive even more money. Only long after Americans had instituted scalping as an acceptable, profitable practice did certain tribes begin to do the same to other tribes they were in conflict with--which, by the way, the government pitted against one another in order to ensure it would continue to have the upper hand in exploiting the natives and stealing their land.
People who live in the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Utah and parts of Colorado do not actually live in the United States; this land is in reality Mexican territory which the United States acquired without Mexico's consent after invading Mexico, leading to the war of 1812. Hence, many educated individuals refer to these areas as occupied Mexico, as they are truthfully not part of the United States. Therefore, "illegal immigrants" from Mexico who live in these areas are not illegals at all; rather, AMericans living in these areas are the illegals.
These are just a few of the endless facts regarding our country's history, and we need to stop teaching children false information in our schools. Publishers of history textbooks should be legally forced to provide the truth about our country's long history of savage, brutal, dishonest and racist behavior. In light of current global events, knowledge of the truth abut our country will help us all better understand why the rest of the world does not like or is fearful of our country. Sugar coating the harsh reality of American imperialism in history textbooks perpetuates the continued discrimination and marginalization of only breeds racism, ignorance and stupidity.

Since 1993 A.D., over ten years, the Yamassee Native American Moors of the Creek Nation have been undergoing ridicule and discrimination amongst the confederate settlers in Putnam, County, GA. After careful selection and deliberation Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird "Eagle" Dr. Malachi Z. York-El traced the family lineage of the tribe to a location in Georgia only 15 miles away to a Native American landmark called Rock Eagle Mound, which was built by the Yamassee Native American Mound Builders descendants of the Washitaw Mound builders thousands of years ago. The Yamassee/Washitaw Native Americans, being the oldest indigenous people on the planet earth, according to the United Nations (File No. 215/1993)and are recognized in the Bureau Of Indian Affairs #208/1999. We have reclaimed 476 acres of our native land and erected landmarks such as those of our ancestors, dating back to the oldest known civilization, the Olmecs, Mayans who are the descendants of the Egyptians.
In 1997 A.D., Howard Richard Sills was elected Sheriff of Putnam County, and from this point on, the Yamassee Native American Moors of the Creek Nation/United Nuwaubian Nation Of Moors, have found themselves involved in civil case after civil case regarding building and zoning violations. These cases were designed to illegally extort money from the tribe by fining them ridiculous amounts of money for minor violations. Sheriff Howard Richard Sills then made it his point to find a way to discredit and degrade our nation over the next ten years. Our current legal battle is stemming from these civil cases and the fact that we were strong enough to endure. Now, this is their final attempt to once again try to extinguish the Native Americans from their land. Our talk of sovereignty and indigenous rights is what they feared.
On May 8, 2002 A.D., Maku: Chief Black Thunder Bird "Eagle" was arrested in a parking lot of a K-Mart Shopping Center in Milledgeville, GA, by FBI and over 100 law enforcement officers. While this was taking place, over 300 law enforcement officers from Putnam County, Baldwin County, Columbus County, and Jones County, with the Department of Natural Resources, FBI and US Forestry, and 400 heavily armed troops raided our Sacred and Holy Land, which is called Wahanee "Golden City" as found on Native American Maps of the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors/ Yamassee Native Americans. At the time of this raid only women and children were present and a handful of men. All were unarmed. These incidents occurred because the FBI was given false allegations of child abuse by Sheriff Howard Richard Sills, who coerced teenaged tribal members to make false statements about their chief. None of these interviews were audio recorded or video taped. Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird "Eagle" has written over 460 books on various topics dealing with World Religions and Cultures. He has been successful in raising the awareness amongst the Native Americans who are made up of all races and colors stemming from the Nubian race. With all respect for all religions and races of people across the globe, his favorite phrase is "No one wins the race in racism". Yet Sheriff Howard Richard Sills has sought our to character assassinate our Maku. Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird "Eagle" has been held in the worst prison conditions because of who he is, during pre-trial detention. According to the law of Presumption of Innocence, Chief Blackthunderbird "Eagle" is innocent until proven guilty. Yet in his case he was deemed guilty until proven innocent by the Federal Court Magistrate Judge Claude Hicks. He was compared to Jim Jones and Jimmy Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, who were given the due process of law before being proven guilty. All charges against Maku are fabricated rumors and hearsay. The state and federal governments have no factual proof to back the claim. None of the so-called victims have ever given sworn testimonies in regards to the allegations. Yet after being in custody of the Federal Government he was illegally transferred to the State Government to be tried in their system, which was a clear violation of Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird's right to a speedy trial. An illegal grand jury, sequestered (gathered) by Sheriff Howard Richard Sills, indicted Maku three times before the current indictment, because they had to cover up their mistakes. Judge William Prior according to the Trial Calendar was not supposed to be on this case, yet the courts doctored the calendar to make sure, this "buddy" of Sills would reside over the case against Maku. These are blatant civil rights violations, yet Maku's cries are falling on deaf ears. Because of pretrial publicity the Judge was asked to change the venue, which he did just a measly 20 minutes away. With the odds weighed against him and after being mentally and physically tortured, with no signs of a fair trial in sight he was forced to sign a bogus plea agreement. Now we find ourselves 6 months after the bogus pela agreement he was forced to sign while under duress, with the next phase being the sentencing. The Judge denied the plea agreement because it was done illegally. He has also recused (excused) himself off of this case because of how many mistakes the federal prosecutors have made. He has been mentally and physically tortured into signing a plea agreement in both the state and federal court cases. This case has become a media frenzy of yellow journalism (one sided and biased). Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird "Eagle" is innocent of all charges and now they are trying to deny him his sovereignty in open court, only to be ignored and ridiculed by the public media because his skin is dark. Maku: Chief Black Thunderbird "Eagle" has thousands of tribal members that acknowledge him as their Commander in Chief. This case is not about child abuse, it is about driving the Yamassee Native American Moors of the Creek Nation off of their land. Both governments know that all the lands from Savannah to the borders of Alabama belong to the Yamassee Native Americans and was illegally purchased, which is known as "The Yazoo Land Scandal". We are the Yamassee Native Americans who the Federal government thought they killed off and we have returned home to live peacefully on 476 acres of land that is rightfully, by birthright our Holy Land, Wahanee. 25. Compensation For Merchant Marine & Native Veterans
Our father is a War Vet with the first WWW2, Merchant Marine, Korean War and a Indian.Our father did not receive compensation as a merchant marine or as an Indian during his duty to Canada.Our father died in 1992 so when the money came along he had passed away.Our mother did not receive any benifits either. We are asking the people of Canada to help us in obtaining funds under these measures.
We are hoping that the money that was given to merchant marine and the the money given to a native who was in the war but never recognized will be given to his children.If our mother was alive at the time the money was given out she would have received it for the merchant marines. We understand that had our father was alive he would have received compensation for being an Indian during the war as well. All we want is compensation that is owed to our family as it was not easy growing up in poverty an living off the reserve.

INTRODUCTION: The Air Force often names air bases and air fields after the first aviator to be killed at or near the airport in question.
Many air bases are named for famous aviators native to the area in which the air base is located. Some air bases have been renamed.
There are only two major Air Force installations in NC: Pope and Seymour Johnson.
PRECEDENTS: Pope AFB, NC was named for 1st Lt. Harley H. Pope, killed with his crewman, Sgt. W. W. Fleming, January 7, 1917 when his JN-4 crashed into the Cape Fear River near Fayetteville. Poor visibility and fuel exhaustion led to the fatal crash. Lt. Pope is from Bedford, Indiana.
Seymour Johnson AFB, NC is named for Navy Lt. Seymour A. Johnson, Goldsboro native, killed March 5, 1941 in an aircraft accident in Maryland.
Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona is named for two local early aviators, 2nd Lt. Samuel H. Davis, killed Dec. 28, 1921 and 2nd Lt. Oscar Monthan, killed March 27, 1924.
Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio is named for aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright and for 1st Lt. Frank S. Patterson, killed June 19, 1918, in the crash of a DH-4. The Wright brothers are from Ohio.
Dyess AFB, Texas was renamed for Lt. Col. William E. Dyess, WWII fighter pilot who took part in the infamous Bataan death march. He escaped from a Japanese prison camp in April 1943 only to be killed in a P-38 crash in December 1943 at Burbank, CA.
Laughlin AFB, Texas is named for 1st Lt. Jack T. Laughlin, Texas native, B-17 pilot killed over Java on January 29,1942.
McConnell AFB, Kansas is named for three brothers from Wichita: 2nd Lt. Thomas L McConnell killed July 10, 1943 during an attack on Bouganville; Capt. Fred J. McConnell killed in a private plane crash October 25, 1945; and Lt. Col. Edwin M. McConnell who died September 1, 1997.
McGuire AFB, NJ is named for NJ native Major Thomas B. McGuire, Jr., P-38 pilot, second leading ace of WWII, Medal of Honor recipient, killed in action January 7, 1945 in the Philippines.
Nellis AFB, Nevada is named for Nevada native 1st Lt. William H. Nellis, WWII P-47 fighter pilot, killed December 27, 1944 in Europe.

I am writing this personal appeal to the world because by August, I may be incarcerated in prison for having exercised my God-given and constitutionally protected freedom of speech in Canada.
In my work as an advocate and fighter for the rights of aboriginal people, I have discovered that an American conglomerate known as NAWAPA - The North
American Water and Power Alliance - is coveting the lands of native people in central British Columbia, with the assistance of corrupt and violent native
politicians and the government of Canada.
NAWAPA plans to dam and divert three major river systems in our province into the United States through a massive water reservoir known as the Rocky Mountain Trench.

As a result, the lands of thousands of indigenous people in north-central British Columbia will be flooded and their way of life destroyed forever.
Some of the most powerful native politicians in this region are dispossessing their own people from their lands to pave the way for the NAWAPA project. According to eyewitnesses Frank Martin and Helen
Michel of the Dene-Carrier nation, chiefs of the Carrier - Sekani Tribal Council in Prince George, BC
have employed violence, extortion, and even murder to secure trap lines and other lands from their own people.
According to Frank and Helen, and other Tribal Council activists, these chiefs are also implicated in criminal actions like drug trafficking, prostitution,
and the exploitation of children in organized pedophile rings in the Prince George-Moricetown area. These allegations have been substantiated by
journalists, lawyers, and sources within the Carrier-Sekani Tribal Council.
Two weeks ago, one of these accused chiefs, Ed John, commenced a lawsuit against Frank and Helen, myself,
and other critics, to permanently silence and incarcerate us if we persist in our investigation of
crimes against aboriginal people in his territory.
The law firm handling Ed John's case - Blake, Cassells and Graydon of Vancouver - is closely tied to
the government of Canada through its head, Marvin Storrow, who is a close friend and confident of Prime
Minister Jean Chretien.
Chretien has not only recently been cited at the International Criminal Court in The Hague for complicity in Genocide of native people in Canada, but
his government, like Chief Ed John, is committed to the NAWAPA project through its obligations under the NAFTA agreement with the USA.
There can be no clearer case than this one of a modern state employing puppet indigenous leaders to dispossess entire peoples in the interests of foreign
multinational corporations. Nor can there be a more obvious example of a government attacking and silencing dissidents than what myself and native
activists like Frank and Helen are presently up against.
Besides this lawsuit, we are experiencing regular death threats, physical assaults, and other
harrassment designed to isolate and break us.
We need all persons of conscience to rally now to our defense, and to the aboriginal people of central
British Columbia.
We ask that you do the following:
1. Alert Amnesty International and other human rights groups about our case and the ongoing Genocide of
native peoples in Canada, and ask them to adopt us as prisoners of conscience.
2. Contact the government of Canada, and Prime Minister Jean Chretien, and demand that their covert harrassment of opponents of NAWAPA and Ed John cease.
3. Contact Marvin Storrow, Q.C., at Blake, Cassells and Graydon in Vancouver, BC, and demand that this
firm halt their lawsuit (#S012186) and campaign of harrassment of myself and other critics of Chief Ed

29. Prevent the Second Destruction of Pilot Town
Pilot Town on Ft. Morgan Peninsula is a significant, historical site of archeological and environmental importance. From as early as 500 B.C. the site was inhabited by Native Americans, it was settled by Spaniards in the mid-1700's and was the site of a U.S. Navy Base during the War of 1812. The settlement of Bar Pilots in the early 1800's was destroyed during the deadly hurricane of September, 1906. It is the site of many shell mounds and we feel many unmarked graves of Native Americans, African-Americans and Caucasians. Older area residents tell of a large whites-only cemetery and a smaller blacks-only cemetery. The Ft. Morgan Peninsula provides habitat for many endangered and threatened species and this site is part of the acquisition boundary of the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. It is home to a broad diversity of plants and animals and provides an important resting and foraging stop for migrating birds. The property is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and we feel the appropriate future for this land is preservation in its natural state.
Planet Radio 93.3 has recently canceled their Native Noise program in Jacksonville, FL, which would play all local music on the radio for two hours on a Sunday night. They have recently cancelled the program and have no intentions on bringing it back in the future. This could greatly affect the local music scene here in Jacksonville.
Without the support of a two hour show on the radio anymore, all the bands that are starting out in Jacksonville are going to suffer from a substantial lack of exposure. So to try and prevent the scene here from going down the tubes and drying up. If you could show your support for local music and sign this petition, the local music, here in Jacksonville, would be very grateful, as well as the fans that support local music.
