1. Support Congressional Term Limits
Congressmen have abused the fact that they can focus more on the topic of personal campaigning, in turn neglecting their legislative duties.
The following signatures represent citizens who are demanding the installation of congressional term limits in or bellow the amount of 5 (five) terms for the house of representatives, and 3 (three) or fewer terms for the senate.
2. Comcast 250GB Bandwidth cap should be illegal!
Bandwidth caps should be consider illegal because they are only internet overcharging schemes for cable and phone companies providing internet services.
We need to stand up for our internet freedom!
3. Get Rid Of The Farmville Feed Limit
Farmville has placed a limit on how many feed posts we can collect in a day or 24 hours this is unfair to us.
4. Keep Aviara Parkway At 40 MPH, Introduce Traffic Calming
The Carlsbad City Council is considering raising the speed limit along the two-mile stretch of Aviara Parkway between Poinsettia and El Camino Real. Currently, the speed is 40 MPH. The proposal is to raise it to 45 MPH. By raising the speed limit, Carlsbad police would be able to collect on the tickets they write on this section of roadway.
Due to changes in state law, the courts currently do not recognize the ticketed infractions as enforceable. Increasing the speed limit at this location would put school children and pedestrians at unnecessary risk. In March 2011, Carlsbad agreed to pay a $2.9 million settlement for creating hazardous conditions that led to injuries in an accident on La Costa. There too the speed limit had been raised from 40 MPH to 45 MPH.
The court agreed with the accident victims that the speed was excessive.
5. Speed limit change for Quest Academy Charter school
Quest Academy charter school sits on 4000 S in West Haven, UT. The speed limit in front of this school is 50 mph. This school is from K - 7 and within the next two years will go up to 9th grade. As this school grows as does the traffic problem.
Children, parents and caregivers are trying to cross the street, park and pull out of the parking lot and merge with the traffic already on that road. 50 mph is too fast of a speed lmit for any school let alone any business.
6. Worldwide Consensus - Muslims Vote Against Child Marriage
Child Marriages were a social norm in the 7th Century when age of Consent was determined by Puberty. Today, there is a new social norm whereby anyone marrying a minor is considered a pedophile.
According to Islamic Jurisprudence, we, The Ummah have voted in a worldwide Consensus (ijma) and are by Islamic Law calling on the Scholars to protect our children and BAN this practice by 30 December 2010.
7. Request for speed limit reduction on Amelia Church Road
Many accidents and near misses have happened in the past 10 years. On October 21st, 2009 a Landmark resident, Mr. Michael Herod, was rear ended while attempting to turn left (onto Springwood Pl.) into Landmark subdivision. Mr Herod's vehicle was totaled and he sustained injuries to his neck and lower back.
8. TalkTalk: Introduce ability to track Broadband usage
I am recently into a 2nd 18-month contract with TalktTalk, and have never received any email communications about broadband usage.
However, I received the below warning/threat on September 10, 2009. TalkTalk allege that I exceeded their monthly 40GB allowance during August 2009.
Having spoken to their Customer Support team today (Sept. 11 '09), they admitted that it remains impossible for users to actually check the status of their broadband usage online. And the person I spoke with admitted they could not say when such a facility may appear online.
Holding customers financially to account over something they cannot ever themselves check/manage is patently unfair, and - arguably - illegal. This must be resolved forthwith.
"Dear Mr Lennon
At TalkTalk we want you to make the most of your broadband. That's why we give you a large 40GB download limit every month - enough to download either 55 feature-length movies or 900 albums every month. For most customers that's more than enough, but we've noticed that your usage in August has been 75.70 GB.
From the next calendar month - under our fair usage policy - if you go over the 40GB limit a £5 charge will be added to that month's bill."
9. Refund unfair photo radar tickets
A Manitoba court recently threw out tickets for drivers exceeding the temporary speed limit in construction zones when no workers were present and no safety was compromised, meaning those who haven't already paid their tickets will not be required to do so.
But the NDP government is refusing to refund the tickets for the thousands of drivers who have already paid. It's a cash grab, and it's wrong.
10. Reduce speed limit on Cambridge Road, Great Shelford
The current speed limit on Cambridge Road, Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire (A1307) is 40MPH. This road is in a residential area which has street lights and cycle lanes. The speed limit should be reduced to 30MPH.
Cars often drive down this road far in excess of 40MPH and it would not be a surprise if somebody is killed cycling or crossing this road.
11. Reduce the risks - 50/30 Now on the A1307
The A1307 between the A11 and Haverhill (just ten miles) has seen over 16 deaths, 31 Serious Accidents and 99 Slight Injury Accidents in the last five years and since March this year six people (three children) have lost their lives on the road. There are 10 changes of speed limit in 6 miles, several applicable for one third of a mile or less.
We are told that ‘most’ of the fatalities on the A1307 are not related to excessive speed but we believe that if speed limits were reduced then this would have a positive effect. We believe – and we hope that you agree – that this road needs ‘calming’ in the way that only a lower and properly-enforced speed limit can achieve.
The peak period vehicle interval is 1.8 seconds, making this a very difficult road to access at these times of day, however people are still expected to cross the road (up to three lanes of traffic) in the dark with traffic travelling at 60mph just to catch a bus. Two children have lost their lives crossing the road in the last two years.
Vehicles from the villages have to risk their lives to exit their own villages and a roundabout to alleviate these problems and save lives was rejected due to congestion issues related to the high volume of traffic on the road – they just dropped the issue and left residents with the problem. Surprisingly Just four years later Cambridgeshire County Council stated that the road could accommodate an additional 250 lorries per day on the road from a large distribution centre... putting vehicles ahead of people.
Considerable housing and industrial development will continue at Haverhill, inevitably creating even more commuter and HGV traffic on the A1307 but no plans are in place to accommodate it and improvements will inevitably have to come from road safety budgets which mean people have to lose their lives first and this is TOTALLY unacceptable.
We want Cambridgeshire County Council to take immediate action, to reduce speed limits immediately and to make representations to the government for funding to put long term improvements into place.
12. HughesNet Fair Access policy Removal
Users of HughesNet, you know that downloading big files results in your download speed being reduces considerably.
This does not seem fair especially considering the price we pay for this service.
13. Supporting a woman's rights to choose abortion
We wish to express our opposition to any lowering of the legal limit for abortion from 24 weeks, which would have a devastating impact on the small number of women who need later abortion.
These are often vulnerable women facing unusual and difficult circumstances such as late diagnosis of pregnancy, rape or domestic abuse or NHS delays. Women need the right to choose on the most fundamental decisions over their own bodies. Forty years since the 1967 Abortion Act was enacted in Britain, an overwhelming majority of people, 83 percent, support a woman's right to choose.
There is a broad opposition to the restriction of the Act from parliamentarians across the political spectrum, from medical professional organisations- the British Medical Association and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, from the Commons Science and Technology Committee and the Department of Health and from women's, trade union and student groups across the country.
14. Residential speed limit on Front Street
The current speed limit on Front Street is 35mph. Front Street is a residential area with lots of children the limit should be 25mph.
The limit is 25mph on every other street in the area that is a neighborhood they even have children at play signs. On Front Street the limit doesn't go down to 25mph until you head downtown and away from the children.
On Christmas day a child was hit by a car, the girl driving was "going the speed limit" but didn't have time to stop. She had a suspended license hit a child and all she got was a ticket because she was going the speed limit.
I don't want to see this happen to my daughters or anyone else's children.
15. Get rid of the speed limits on all UK motoroways
We should abolish the speed limits on the motorways and make them like the German Autobahn.
16. Reduce Speed Limit Outside St. Elizabeth’s School & Mill View
The aim of this petition is to reduce the speed limit on the A6 outside St. Elizabeth's School & the Mill View housing area.
Currently the speed limit is 50 miles per hour outside this school and built up area.
Children as young as 4 years old are walking on a very narrow pavement to and from school - no more than 3 feet from speeding lorries and cars.
17. Increase local speed limit from 25mph to 40mph on Vandebrook Dr
The local speed limit of 25mph on Vandebrook Dr in Waterloo, IL is simply to low to allow for a steady and continous flow of traffic at peak times.
I am petitioning to increase this speed limit to 40mph from the beginning of Vandebrook Dr at IL Route 3 to the corner of Vandebrook Dr and Fieldstone Dr.
18. Help ban or limit the group My Chemical Romance
I would like for this petition to ban the group, My Chemical Romance. I realize this may not be possible but we should be able to put an age limit of 18 to purchase their music.
The facts are that this group and others like it are doing harm to our children! I have a very good friend and her 13 year old daughter was listening to them and wanted to kill herself. What kind of message are they sending to our children?
It is our duty to protect our children please join with me in this petition to put an age limit on this group and others like them.
19. Lower the speed limit on Huffville Road
My petition is for my dog Ruby, who died on Saturday February 3rd, 2007. A car was driving too fast and probably not paying much attention to the road.
20. Limit Court Continuances in Alabama
On behalf of a relative; I have had to go to court no less than 10 times in the past two years for ongoing court continuances BEFORE the case has been heard (it still has not been heard and this has been delayed since 2004!).
I'm sure there are many of you in the same situation and whether court appointed or salary-for-hire attorney is your situation; it takes your time, money and parking fees* from all of us.
I strongly believe there should be LIMITS on the number of times any lawyer or judge can continue ONE particular casek (No matter the circumstances!)
21. Removal of Unlawful Speed Limit on Sunset Drive
In Septmember of 2006, The Murtons posted two 10 mile per hour speed limit signs along Sunset Dr.
22. Better road safety measures for Garden Section residents
The Garden section has become more populated with families and children as has the traffic. There are no stop signs, speed limit postings, yeild signs or caution childen/pedestrian signs posted nor are there any ordinances in this area.
Cars and trucks have been sighted speeding through these residential areas with speeds estimated to be 40mps. There is a large population of children and something must be done before another child is injured or even killed.
Several attempts have been made to urge the town officials to take action dating back to December 2004, yet nothing has been done.
Children are in danger while playing outside, walking home from school or simply being near the roadway and since there are no sidewalks, this is unavoidable.
23. Traffic Concerns of Station Hill Residents
The speed limit is 25 miles an hour from NMMC till you leave Fort Kent. I have clocked 10 ton trucks going approximately 38-42 miles per hour.
This is a high pedestrian and children area. This is the normal speed not a few individual trucks or companies.
I am trying to prevent a tragedy before it occurs.
I live on a residential street with several children as well as a popular playground. There is a speed limit clearly posted but the majority of the vehicles continue to race down the street at speeds well over the speed limit.
25. Increase Gmail Attachment Size Limit
For those who believe the 10mb email attachment limit is to small for Today's Digital Generation of high resolution pictures and videos.
26. HaloGrid Bandwidth Overage
July 5, 2005
A quote from HaloGrid.com:
When we released Jump Tactics Spoof Episode 3: Turf I had the movie hosted on our server because no one had seen the movie. I could have submitted the movie to HBO and waited about 5 days for it to pass and be hosted... but we had a great number of people anxiously waiting for the movie to release. So I uploaded the movie to our server.
Now when JT3 hit front page of HIH, our mirror got thousands of downloads that I did not anticipate (seeing as the previous 2 versions weren't too popular). The night I got home from work and checked our bandwidth usage, we were at about 400gb over our limit. By the end of the month we were about 530gb over our limit. Prior to this happening, it was my and Arabian Camel's understanding that the overage fee was 50 cents per extra gigabyte used. We just RECENTLY came to find that they changed their overage fee from 50 cents per gigabyte, to $6.00 per gigabyte used. Arabian Camel received an email with our overage fee balance due which totaled at $3,438.00.
Of course Arabian Came to me telling me the news and we both began thinking of ways to deal with the situation. The first notion that came to mind was the fact that they changed their fees without email or otherwise notice. After he talked to them on the phone for over an hour he told me that in their TOC, they reserve the right to change their fees without prior notice. Basically meaning they were not at fault. Mike W Caizza (Clan Member - Lead Role) said if we couldn't come up with the money he would donate $100, and blackouTT (Clan Member - Lead Role) also offered to start working full-time to send us some money.
Seeing as I barely make it from paycheck to paycheck as it is... it's nearly impossible for me to set aside any more money. In short... none of us have this kind of money in any way, shape, or form.
27. Request for bank withdrawal on hardship grounds
I had deposited my whole retirement benefits in the near by SDCC bank Ayyanarpuram Branch, Karaikudi-2. In view of RBI instructions, SDCC bank was suspended his business for closing and accepting deposits from 5-04-2005 and for the past two months they are granting loans for jewels and Co-operative Thrift Societies with excess staffs.
Myself and my wife are heart patients and we have to take medicines and medical checkup regularly once in a month on the advice of the Madurai Meenakshi Mission hospital. We are unable to comply with the above for want of money. There is no response from any other source about opening of the bank. You are penalizing the deposit holders and senior citizens, instead of taking actions against the officials who are responsible for the irregularities and also for the defaulters. I am sorry to inform you that one of the depositor had died for inability to take his hard earned money from his accounts. I had already submitted the Request forms for withdrawal of hardship grounds in excess of permissible limit of withdrawal (Banks under directive of RBI) to The Manager, SDCC Bank ltd, Ayyanarpuram branch, Karaikudi on 3-06-2005.
Hence I request you to kindly to take initiate action for withdrawal of the amount for medical expenses and day to today expenditures. Also give exemptions to the Senior Citizens to withdraw their hard earned money at an early date.
Currently when 9 Mile Rd between Dixboro and Rushton Rds. gets paved it is said that the speed limit will be set at 45mph or 55mph.
This petition is to show Livingston County and the State of Michigan that the residents within the above stated area do not want a speed limit that high. We would petetion to have the speed limit no higher than 35mph and 25mph around the curves.
The fine lads of Skyes The Limit are under pressure. Under pressure from Michael Brady, who thinks he owns the title "Skyes The Limit", which is apparantly the name of his album.
The boys (soon to be men), of Skyes The Limit shall not give in, and to help with their campaign you can contribute by signing this petition. You know you want to. In fact you need to.
30. Request for hazard sign on the Fox Run Road corner.
REQUESTING A LOWERED SPEED LIMIT & A HAZARED SIGN ON THE FOX RUN ROAD CORNER.
