Petition Tag - knighthood
1. The Knighthood of Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath have entertained, inspired and influenced so many of the great bands that we have today for over the last 40 years.
We feel it is time we gave something back to honour them for their massive contribution to the music world with a Knighthood.
I and a lot of People Would like Ken Dodd to Receive a Knighthood, I Think He has Made Millions of People Very Happy as a all-round Entertainer.
3. End rewards for failed Bankers
Failed Boss of RBS Fred Goodwin has obtained a super injunction against anyone naming him as a banker this is a gross misuse of the courts and a travesty of justice. The truth is all important if it is true it should not be possible to stop people telling the truth.
Just as individuals should have a defence against being slandered they should have no defence against the truth. Fred Goodwin has also kept his rewards of a knighthood and £200000 pension despite failing so badly he was one of the main causes of the current recession.
This sets a terrible precedent and encourages incompetent behaviour from executives.
4. A Posthumous Knighthood for George Harrison
George Harrison has contributed so much to the world of music, film and charity, including The concert For Banladesh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTw39LFL_-c
Why has he gone unnoticed for so long? He was one of the most influential people of the last half of the 20th century and I feel that is about time that he was recognised for all the good that he has given worldwide.
A Posthumous Knighthood for George Harrison !!!
Ross Kemp deserves a Knighthood for his hard hitting journalism from the frontlines in Afghanistan. OBE's, MBE's and the such are handed out willy nilly to every tom, dick and harry for random pointless tasks.
Footballers and lollypop ladies receive CBE's for nothing. Ross and his brave team bring the true horror of war to our TV screens and thus deserves our nations highest honour.
The armed forces have the utmost respect for Ross as do the people who watch the horrifying realities of battle he brings to our living rooms. It's time to knight Ross Kemp. Let him know we are proud of what he does.
6. Ryan Giggs should be awarded a Knighthood
The editors of MustBeRed are campaigning to have Ryan Giggs knighted. Hazel Blears MP (Lab) and Chris Grayling MP (Con) have given their support to the campaign.
Here are the 11 reasons why he deserves the honour:
1 Giggs is the most decorated player in English footballing history.
2 He is the only player to have played and scored in every Premiership season.
3 He has scored more than 100 league goals.
4 That FA Cup wonder goal against Arsenal.
5 Giggs has played more games for Man Utd than any other player.
6 The youngest footballer to have represented Wales.
7 Capped 64 times for Wales, and was made the team's captain.
8 A clean player who has NEVER been red-carded for Man Utd.
9 A role-model family man who has never been in the papers for the wrong reasons.
10 A fundraiser for charity and a campaigner against landmines and racism.
11 Admired by players and managers as the Premiership's "Best".
7. Please grant John Lennon the honourary title of Sir Knight!
John Lennon has revolutionized how we look at music and modern culture, as well as how we always must speak out for PEACE AND LOVE!
John Lennon was assassinated in the prime of life, he created over 300 songs, and brought joy and happiness to a lot of people, even when Richard Nixon tried to have him wrongfully deported. John Lennon showed us that anybody can be somebody, whether they play music in a cellar in Liverpool, or on the rooftop of the apple building.
John Lennon was simply an amazing musician, activist, poet, husband, and father, and he will always be in our hearts, no matter what. so i believe we should grant this incredible man the very honourable title of sir knight.
