For years the British Legal System has operated effectively without intervention from Europe and without the interference of the Human Rights Act.

The Human Rights Act has inflicted more harm than good on the British Public. In recent months it has dictated that prisoners must be given the vote, prisoners are allowed to sue prisons for taking them off heroin to early and more recently murderers and rapists have been released early because not giving them a proper parole hearing infringed their human rights.

What about the law-abiding tax payer who has to stand by and see criminals walk free and their taxes used to pay out record sums of compensation to people who are in prison because they have no regard for the rights of others?

It is time to scrap the Human Rights Act and get back to 'our' system of law which has worked for hundreds of years and provided a model to other countries around the World.

On July 4th, 2007 recording artist Buju Banton will be performing at the African/Caribbean festival in Chicago’s Washington Park. Buju Banton has created and performs music urging the shooting and burning of gay people.

His song Boom Bye Bye instructs listeners to kill gay men. The inclusion of this artist at any venue in our fair city is unacceptable. The facts that he is invited to perform on public ground, on Independence Day, and is sponsored by the Chicago Parks District, Chrysler, Western Union and the Illinois Art Council just to name a few severely harms the city’s reputation as a haven of respect for all its citizens.

For years there has been a battle between the local government in Kazakhstan and an innocent ISKCON community. Based on the excuse that the devotees do not have sufficient legal permission and their religion is not 'traditional to Kazakhstan', the government have been endeavouring to destroy the ISKCON temple and devotees homes by force so they can develop the land for another use. This is a serious breach of human rights!

Workers and police arrived on 15th June at the village near Almaty, Kazakhstan, where the embattled Hare Krishna commune is based to demolish twelve more Hare Krishna-owned homes. "The houses were literally crushed into dust. By ten o'clock it was all over," said ISKCON spokesperson Maksim Varfolomeyev.

The temple, which the devotees have been ordered to destroy by today, has not been touched but the devotees fear it could be the next target. Human rights activist Yevgeny Zhovtis is outraged at the continuing destruction. "The authorities are showing that they will do what they want, despite the international outrage at the earlier demolitions of Hare Krishna-owned homes." He believes the local administration chief "doesn't care about the political damage to Kazakhstan's reputation – or to its desire to chair the OSCE."

BALI, INDONESIA–After detaining Chinese pro-democracy defector Jia Jia at a March 9th public forum, Indonesian authorities say that they plan to deport him back to China. The Indonesian branch of the U.N. has said that they don't have the right to do so, according to a source.

Jia made headlines by leaving a tour group in Taiwan on Oct. 23, 2006 and publicly announcing his break with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He has since been publicly speaking out against the party and encouraging people to withdraw from membership. Jia is the former Secretary General of the Science and Technology Association of Shanxi Province.

Jia had been denied entry into Malaysia when he flew to the country on February 21. A local official stated that the reason for the denial was that Jia Jia had been added to the blacklist of the Malaysian government.

According to Jia, his purpose of attending the event in Indonesia, originally planned as a formal press conference, was to explain to the public why he is traveling around Asia, and his observations of Asian countries' attitudes towards the CCP. After defecting from China, Jia has traveled to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia in the process of seeking political asylum outside of China.

This reporter saw Bali police interfere with the event, threatening to take Jia into their custody. In order to cooperate with police, organizers turned the event into an informal public forum, with Jia speaking from the audience rather than front-and-center.

Police then tried to stop Jia from speaking at all, threatening to detain and interrogate him. Around noon Bali time, Jia agreed to leave with the police.

If he stays in Indonesia, he is not supposed to speak to the people of Indonesia, said a supervising police officer.

Jia is currently in police custody and has hired an attorney, who said that there are no legal grounds for Jia's arrest. A U.N. official in Indonesia has also told police that they have no legal right to deport Jia Jia, according to a source who asked to remain anonymous.

Jia said that the police officers' actions are proof that the Indonesian government has given in to the CCP. Many governments fail to see through the CCP's means of deception and that its power, while seemingly strong, is actually quite fragile, he said. They choose to give in and to cooperate with the CCP for fear of losing economic benefits, he asserted.

Jia Jia has been a longtime advocate for democracy in China. The U.N. and international society should pay attention to his situation, because helping him is helping the Chinese people, he said.

So far over 19 million people have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party and its subsidiary organizations, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. An average of 30,000 to 40,000 people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party daily. Jia Jia said that the Chinese Communist Party is on the brink of collapse and that everybody and that every government must recognize the current crisis facing the CCP.

During his search for political asylum, Jia has been talking to local people during his tours and learning their opinions on the Chinese Communist Party and China's prospects. Jia said that he discovered that some governments and their people have illusions toward the Chinese Communist Party. For example, they think the Chinese Communist Party is equal to China, and they think building a relationship with the Chinese Communist Party is the same as building a relationship with 1.3 billions of Chinese people.

Jia Jia said that they have made wrong judgments towards China due to these misunderstandings. As a result, they are not aware of it when they help the Chinese Communist Party suppress the Chinese people and, thus, harm the interest of their own countries and people.

Keith Jones, a blind 44 year old UK resident married Blessing, a Nigerian citizen in 2005. Because of wrong advice being given to them by home office and others Blessing is here only on a visitor's visa.

Information is that if Keith was wheelchair-bound, had speech difficulties or any other disability Blessing could change her visa status without returning to Nigeria as she is his hslper and carer but this does not apply in their case as Keith is just blind.

In 1997 the engineering Unit of NPR began the process of Unionization. NPR management hired a large outside law firm to attempt to thwart these Unionization efforts. NPR filed many costly appeals. Finally, after the appeals and two votes, NABET-CWA was certified as the Engineering Union of NPR in 1999. After long arduous expensive negotiations the first contract was signed in 2002.

NPR violated the contract and a large amount of grievances had to be filed. NPR continued to pay their inside legal team and outside hired expensive law firms. For the second contract negotiations, NPR management hired an additional outside large expensive law firm. One of the negotiators who had also been involved in the Union mobilization efforts and a staunch supporter of workers fair rights was then fired by NPR management. That same negotiator was also utilizing the provisions of the FMLA at the time of her firing.

After the negotiator made her thoughts clear on the then current contract non favorable to workers rights proposal, the negotiator, was brought in to meetings and told she would be terminated for any absences FMLA or not and/or any inadvertent errors. The Negotiator had had an excellent professional record and had been an employee of NPR's for 12 years, and with a family and a young child.

NPR Management concurred that the Union did not agree with what they were doing, NPR was told by Union officials that NPR management was in violation of the contract. However, NPR Management fired the negotiator anyway and the workers voted for NPR's contract. Further resulting in another labor violation and insult: a Union worker would not want to volunteer to be a negotiator unless that volunteer made sure to agree with (NPR) Management.

NPR continues to violate their worker's rights and contract, and still resulting in more and more legal costs from their inside legal team and additionally hired expensive outside law firms.

GOVERNMENT PLAYING WITH RIGHTS OF POOR TRIBALS

State Government of Chhattishgarh in India, is playing with the property rights of tribals, which are guaranteed to them by the Constitution of India. Taking benefit of the century old land acquisition act, state is acting as a property dealer, by forcibly acquiring their irrigated agricultural land and displacing thousands of tribals from their roots, all in the name of development, which has failed to reach them. Past experience so far has proved that tribals have been the victims of development and not its beneficiaries.

While the red carpet welcome is accorded to the powerful industrial houses, lots of sops offered including giving them mining rights to virtually loot the natural resources, safely stored in the womb of mother earth since billions of years, the poor tribals are beaten with sticks and even their voice is silenced by firing live rounds on them. There are strong opinions that all this gimmicks in the name of development are played, using corrupt practices by the politicians for their individual monetary gains at the cost of eating away the rights of the poor tribals. All these happening in a state of India, ranked at the top of the most corrupt nation of the world by Transparency International.

At Lohandiguda in Bastar area of Chhattisgarh state of India, on the road from Jagdalpur to famous Chitrakut Water Falls, the eyes of TATAs have fallen to construct their proposed 5 MTA Steel Plant. As per the provisions of the Constitution of India, the resolve of the village council is supreme. No body can play with the resolve of the tribal village council. However, contrary to those provisions, state government acted as the agent of the private industrial houses, did not bothered to educate the tribals about the importance of public hearing at a village council to manage the favorable resolve of the village council at the 3rd and 4th attempt. It is stated here that on both the first two attempts, they had miserably failed. The public hearings were held under fortified conditions with heavy deployment of armed police and administrative officials. Political masters also poked their nose to influence poor tribals in the name of their development. No social workers, no NGOs nor any Human Rights Activists were allowed to go to those villages because of the fear of being exposed. Why transparency is not put to practice when larger public interest is at stake. Why government has failed to discharge its lawful duties to protect the interest of the poor citizens of the state and more particularly why it is making mockery of the property rights of the poor tribals that are guaranteed to them by the virtue of constitutional provisions.

End the Israeli destruction of the holy sites and human history in Jerusalem.

Recent Israeli excavations and destruction near and under the holy sites in the Old City Jerusalem threaten to change history. These excavations, if allowed to continue, threaten to seriously distort the historical significance of the Old City of Jerusalem. The integrity of monuments and historic sites that identify the heritage of humanity, especially sites of spiritual and cultural diversity, must be protected by responsible members of the world community.

On February 6, the Israeli antiquities authority started demolition of historic sites near the western wall of the holy sites compound. A hill, a wooden bridge, and two rooms at the foot of the hill will be eradicated in order to build a permanent bridge/walkway for Jewish settlers to access the Jewish Wailing Wall/ Muslim Buraq wall on the road leading to Magharba gate. These monuments represent different periods of human history.

Jerusalem, the mountainous walled city with a rich religious history, is sacred to followers of the three great religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; more than one half of the world's population.

For Jews, Jerusalem is the holy site of the Wailing Wall ; for Christians, the site of Christ's burial and resurrection; for Muslims, the site of the Prophet Muhammad's night journey to heaven, as well as the first direction they prayed towards before Makkah, and one of the three holiest sites.

Israel has been conducting what it terms 'excavation work' , an archaeological digging/tunnel , near and under the holy sites compound. since 1969.The current digging imposes a direct threat to the sustainability of Al-Aqsa mosque, as well as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre; where it is believed Christ was buried and rose from the dead. Other adjacent historic structures are also threatened.

In February 2004, excavation work led to the collapse of a part of the path leading to Al Magharba Gate, one of the holy compound’s main entrances. However, Israeli media claims that the excavation had no effect on this incident and cites a snowstorm as the reason for the collapse. In February 2007, they characterizes the recent excavation/demolition as repair, maintenance, or restoration activities.

Jerusalem’s rich history belongs to all humankind. Old City of Jerusalem was declared by UNESCO as a threatened world heritage site.

The recent Israeli excavations and demolition of historic monuments of Jerusalem are a clear violation of the international laws as listed below:

UNESCO Decision 30 COM 7A.34 (2006), 31 C/Resolution 31, as well as to the provisions of the four Geneva Conventions (1949), The Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (1954) the related Protocol and to the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (1972), the inscription of the Old City of Jerusalem on the World Heritage List and on the List of World Heritage in Danger and the recommendations, resolutions and decisions of UNESCO on the protection of the cultural heritage.

Jerusalem world heritage sites are a significant part of world history. As we speak, the world is witnessing the destruction of a history that belongs to all humanity. If we do not raise our voices in opposition to this illegal excavation, this historical treasure could be destroyed and wiped off the face of the earth forever.

We urge all concerned people of the world to stand firm to protect our human history and to stop all forms of demolition and excavations of the historical Jerusalem.

We urge the international community to appeal to governmental and non-governmental archeological, anthropological, historic, and human rights organizations, institutions, and legal entities to safeguard the cultural heritage of the Old City of Jerusalem

The article in the Evening Standard dated 5th February 2007, and other papers, reported that the Saudi-faith school King Fahd Academy in London is using textbooks produced by the Saudi Ministry of Education which describe Jews as “monkeys” and Christians as “pigs”. They ask pupils to list the repugnant characteristics of Jews.

The books are very offensive to Christians, Jews and Muslims. The books have been taught at the school since September 2005 and the Ofsted inspection did not uncover them in March 2006.

The Biritish Prime Minister needs to take steps to ensure these vile practices are STOPPED and innocent Muslim minds are not corrupted.

"Islam" means peace and the faith teaches tolerance and understanding of all humankind but specially towards Jews and Christians who are considered closest to the Muslims.

Certain pizza chains promise delivery of the pizza with 30 minutes or so, and in case of delay the customer is given the pizza free of charge. Who then bears the cost of the pizza? The shop owner is a businessman who will not bear the loss. The cost is recovered from the delivery boy for his failure to adhere to the time schedule.

Can the poorly paid delivery boy afford to risk the pizza cost being recovered from his measly salary? With so much poverty and unemployment the delivery boy must retain his job regardless of the risks involved. So he is forced to ride rashly, threading in and out of traffic at break neck speed, endangering not only his own life, but also that of pedestrians and other vehicle riders on the road.

It is deplorable that such exploitative marketing gimmicks are adopted with total disregard for safety and human life. There must be a public outcry against such unconscionable marketing gimmicks. Citizens must boycott such pizza outlets to force the management to change their marketing policies.

The police can take action for rash driving, but this was only serve to harass the delivery boys. The government must, therefore, amend the law so that action can also be taken against the management of the pizza outlets responsible for perpetrating the crime of forcing its delivery boys to ride rashly. Human Rights Commissions must also issue appropriate directions to the Government in this regard.

Late on Sunday August 21, 2005 a violent riot erupted by more than 1,600 ethnic, migrant workers building a mass transit railway project in Kaohsiung Taiwan.

Workers set fire to their dormitory in southern Taiwan, burnt cars and hurled rocks at police after some were apprehended. There are estimated between 300,000 to 500,000 migrant workers on Taiwan many of whom are tricked into working on Taiwan with offers of lucrative jobs only to find themselves as slaves to “contractors” and “agents” on Taiwan.

Caste based discrimination and atrocity against dalits community is alarmingly increased all over India that lead to bloody and brutal killing of dalits everyday. These anti-social committed by so called caste hindus terrorize the dalits in almost many parts of India. The extent and occurrence of dalit atrocity is rampant like an epidemic in many parts of India. In many states such as Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, U.P., M.P., Karnataka and several parts of Tamil Nadu and AP the violence against the Dalits reached to newer heights. The severity of violence’s against dalits is beyond any human comprehension as dalits are lynched, murdered and mutilated. This kind of violence is not seen even in animal world.

There is hardly any day goes by when dalits are not killed, harassed, socially boycotted by the upper castes. Dalits houses are burnt, physical violence against dalit woman like rape, terrorizing the dalit woman by parading naked on streets, cutting genitals of dalit children's, beating elderly dalits are rampant and it is like an epidemic in rural areas and villages across India. The so called caste hindu's cannot tolerate dalits for no reason. The dictatorial attitudes of upper caste hindu's go beyond any legal authorities, the law and order is in serious danger due to this anti-social elements, so to say that any social activities of dalits such as marriages, temple festivals, funeral proceedings of dalits cannot go smoothly without violence and dalit killings because the Hindu's cannot stand a dalit wearing a decent cloth, a dalit should not ask for minimum wages in rural areas, they are not allowed freely to participate in political meetings and activities, dalit bridegroom cannot ride a mare in front of upper caste Hindu's, the dalits have to step down voluntarily from the above said activities otherwise he or she and the marriage party has to face the wrath of the upper caste Hindus, this is particularly common in the ignoble Rajputana state called Rajasthan.

The violence and attack on dalits are so horrendous that dalit people live in constant fear, insecurity and torturous life. It is a gross human rights violation, state governments like Maharashtra where the recent Khairlanji murder of entire dalit family members, states like Haryana where 5 dalits were lynched like animals in a day light under the blessings of law and enforcement (the local police), raping of minors as young as 5 year old dalit girl, mutilating and cutting hands, legs and genitals of children’s, adults and olds, parading dalit woman’s naked in broad day light in the presence of entire village people are few of the thousands of examples of organized and well planned caste brutality against dalits. Dalits are treated all over India as cheap dirt or less than animals and this sad status of Indian society is displayed with detailed information with graphics to the world by digital media. In this 21st century where the information spread at the speed of light to entire world, sadly our local authorities, political leaders and law enforcement is sitting quite and encourage such heinous crimes go unaccountable in India. No human being should ever tolerate such heinous crimes committed by anti-social caste hindu’s.

We are appalled and sad to see this everyday atrocity. We want immediate action against all of them who failed to curb the dalit atrocity, including the chief of police, law and enforcement authorities. We the undersigned are filing this complaint petition to the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Human Rights commission, UN and Ruling Congress Party President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.

The statistics are horrifying:
-It is estimated that over 400,000 people have died due to violence, starvation and disease.
-More than 2.5 million people have been displaced from their homes.
-Over 200,000 have fled across the border to Chad.
-At least 1,300,000 children are living in 200 refugee camps.
-Acute malnutrition has reached almost 27% in some areas of Darfur
-Many now live in camps lacking adequate food, shelter, sanitation, and health care.
-Violence and destruction are continuing in Darfur.
-Since February 2003, government-sponsored militias called Janjaweed have led a campaign of starvation and displacement in Darfur.
