1. Royal Commission into Australian Banking

Justice for All

Please register your 'Call for a Royal Commission into the Banking Sector of Australia', with broad terms of reference.

Many Australians are victims of Full Doc, Low Doc and No Doc LAF fraud in Australia. The President of BFCSA (Inc), Ms Denise Brailey, recently spoke at a Senate Hearing in Canberra and produced undeniable and indisputable evidence of Australian banks and lenders' widespread involvement in Loan Application Fraud.

There are countless victims who have had their houses and businesses taken illegally by the banks.

There is also the serious situation of regulators turning a blind eye to consumer complaints and the same regulators supporting the banks. The regulators are hiding behind flawed legislation and their own internal policies.

This petition will be presented to the Australian Government to indicate the Will of the People that a Royal Commission into the banking sector must be instigated as a matter of urgency.

2. Help stop Animal Slaughter houses

Animals are fully conscious when they are slaughtered; the majority of the time they are not given pain killers to help.

The animals that are kept in cages, sometimes not even as big as their body, are living in fear, pain and suffer.

Do we really want our dinner to be an animal that has suffered for us?

If we speak out, we can make a difference, we can help.

3. Save Brockhill Greenbelt

The idea of a green belt was first set out in the 1930’s for a ring of countryside where urbanisation would be resisted for the foreseeable future, maintaining an area where agriculture, forestry and outdoor leisure could prevail.

The fundamental aim of green belt policy is to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open, and consequently the most important attribute of green belts is their openness. Local authorities have always been encouraged to protect lands around their towns by these means.

We elect our local councillors and normally trust them to abide by such fundamental policies. However, Redditch Borough Council now want abolish the green belt to the north of the town in order to meet housing targets set by the previous government but now abandoned by the present government.

We all want to provide our families with the pleasures of open countryside that is close to our town. We therefore need to fight the proposals being put forward by the council in their building strategy and to get them to listen to sensible views that will prevent Brockhill from becoming a greater housing sprawl.

Anything you can do to support us will be very welcome. Please sign the petition and encourage your friend and family to as well.

5. End Horse Slaughter Canada

Horse Slaughter

With more than 93,000 horses slaughtered in 2009 alone, Canada’s horse slaughter industry is among the largest in the world, and a shameful betrayal against our loyal companions.

Horses are slaughtered in Canada primarily to provide horse meat to European and Asian countries where it is eaten as a delicacy. Horses are brought to slaughter in every possible condition—old, young, sick, healthy, injured, and even pregnant. They are not all unwanted—often, their guardians can no longer afford to keep them, and bring the horses to auction hoping to find them a good home. But horribly, more than 50 percent of horses sold at rural auctions go to slaughter after being bought by “kill buyers”.

A Terrible Journey

Many times, horses are crammed in trailers designed for shorter animals and travel in uncomfortable positions over very long distances. Loading and unloading is extremely stressful and dangerous for horses as they are moved along the relatively steep ramps. Canadian animal transport standards are among the worst in the industrialized world. Current regulations allow horses to be transported for up to 36 hours without food, water or rest.

Inhumane Slaughter—NOT Humane Euthanasia

There have been many reported cases of animal welfare violations in Canadian horse slaughterhouses including failure to provide food and water, illegal unloading of animals, animals left for extended periods in kill pens and sick or injured animals denied veterinary care. Not surprisingly, veterinary experts around the world and leading animal protection groups have denounced horse slaughter as inhumane.

Once the horses are corralled into the slaughterhouse, the end is predictable—violent and bloody. Sometimes injured and emaciated, horses are beaten and electro-shocked in overcrowded pens and must endure the smell of blood and the sights and sounds of other horses in pain and being killed before they, too, are led into a kill chute.

Horse slaughterhouses use the same type of stalls and techniques as cattle slaughterhouses. These stalls are too wide for horses and the captive-bolt stun gun method used with cattle is ill-suited for horses. Horses are an extreme example of a flight animal. The panic and instinctive desire to escape they experience in the slaughterhouse causes them to thrash their heads frantically in the kill chute, making it difficult to effectively stun them prior to slaughter. Witnesses (and video footage) document horses subjected to a sharp blow to the head from the captive-bolt gun three or four times before they are rendered unconscious for exsanguination. In a recent investigation of carcasses discarded by a Canadian slaughterhouse, skulls of many horses processed for meat were found without any holes from a stun gun or rifle whatsoever!

Times Are Changing—Time to ACT

The Canadian horsemeat industry had been in decline in recent years. However, with the closing of the remaining equine slaughter plants in the United States, the number of horses imported to Canada for slaughter has increased by a whopping 49 percent. As a result, several new equine slaughter plants have recently opened in Canada. We need to act now to stop this growing climate of cruelty to horses in Canada!

THIS HAS TO END!!!

My heart is full of pain
My eyes are full of tears
I cried myself to sleep last night
I knew their time was near
I kept on closing my eyes all night
All i saw was their Beautiful faces
Race infront of me
I saw the fear inside their eyes
They knew what was coming for them too
There was no way to escape
Metal gates much taller than their bodies
All the doors and gateways were always shut
They wondered why their beloved humans
Turned so cruel on them now
They wondered why they couldnt run free anymore
They wondered why they were taken away from their Families
Why they couldnt see the blue sky anymore
Why they couldnt taste the sweet grass again
Why there was no more fresh water to drink
Why they couldnt feel the suns warm ray on their bodies

As each stood in the killing shoot today
Their eyes saw the light for the last time
Their Heart took its last beat

They took their last Breath
Still wondering why.......

6. CASH AID to stop 600 to 1000 foreclosures and assist home buyers in your state

FAMILIES ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES at an alarming rate. Our local and state governments are too cash poor to give financial aid and with so much job loss, cities and states are collecting much less tax money from the employed and less sales tax because there is less money to spend with so many people being out of work.

THOSE FEW LEADERS that would ordinarily be inclined to help have no money in their city and state budgets to give to those families that are losing their homes to stop the foreclosures.

THE GOOD NEWS IS “we can help ourselves and others”.

There are MANY CHURCH PASTORS that are among the wealthiest people in the United States. Hundreds of millions of dollars are raised by non profit activity each year, but in many cases much of that money is going to building more buildings for their non profit operations, to purchase jet planes, big houses and to support the lavish lifestyles of the rich heads of those non profit organizations.

The JIM WALK MINISTRIES, founded in 1991, the Oversee of the Embassy of New Jerusalem on line church, has a good record. We are seeking your support in petitioning governors and mayors across the county to permit the raising of one hundred million dollars each year for five years to redistribute all (less operational costs) in non-repayable cash grants to families in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure and to assist home buyers with a non-repayable cash grant to help purchase of a home.

Credit score is not a consideration. Social Security recipients with a related joint purchaser may apply. Early registration is an option.

600 to 1000 grant recipients will be chosen by random selection from accumulated funds of one hundred million dollars within your state of application.

After signing this petition below, please take a tour of our modest web site and leave us a word of support. just click on the web site link above and come walk with us through this storm. God be with us.

Sincerely Yours,
Pastor Jim Walk Sr.

7. Say No to the London Road Development

The proposed development of 700 new dwellings at land to the South of the A421 and East of the A413 in Buckingham.

A planning application has been submitted to Aylesbury Vale District Council for 700 new houses, a commercial estate and a primary school on the farmland opposite The Badgers Estate.

The developers are claiming community support despite not having it.

There is a possibility that the A421 Bypass will become dual-carriageway. How else are they going to deal with potentially an extra 1400 cars trying to get onto the A421 every morning?

When you look at the plans, it isn't immediately clear that they are not individual houses, but blocks of town houses, creating a very high density of population.

not_in_buckingham

It is a totally inappropriate density for the surrounding area. There are only two areas of housing in the area to draw on as models: The Badgers Estate and Benthill. They are proposing to build approximately 85 homes in the same physical space as Benthill has 5 and Badgers has 32.

The Badgers Estate and the new development

The developer's precedents for architectural style are all drawn from the centre of Buckingham not the area they are actually building in. Where is the nearest 3 story building?

They are calling it the "London Road" development, but the main access route will be from A421 which is a very busy road. Making it a dual carriageway will increase traffic noise considerably. Siting such a large development there would make the Badgers exit onto the A421 either a congested crossroads or a large roundabout over a dual carriageway.

They are claiming there will be minimal traffic impact on the local area or the centre of town because they think people will largely walk to their destinations within Buckingham, completely un-realistic.

Another important point is that the rise in Buckingam's population (potentially 15%) will increase competition for the small number of school places left in Town, leaving many families having to drive their children to schools some distance away.

The Buckingham plan has always instructed that no residential development be situated outside of the bypass for a good reason. The developers knew that the old Buckingham plan will be replaced soon, and have used this opportunity to try and slip this application in. The Buckingham Council are against the plans, but AVDC could decide over their heads.

At the moment the developers have very few written objections, they claim to have majority support, based on this. AVDC have to take into account every written form of feedback, so signing this petition and forwarding it to people who live or work locally WILL make a difference!

If you want to send comments straight to AVDC (which would be brilliant as the more individual comments they get the better)!, you can click the weblink at the top of this page, then press 'Submit Comments'.

If you know of anyone who wants to comment, but doesn't have access to the internet, AVDC also accepts comments in writing to: AVDC Planning Department, 66 High Street, Aylesbury HP20 1SD.

- They'll want your name and address
- The application reference number: 08/02379/AOP
- The address of the site: Land To South Of The A421 And East Of A413 Buckingham Bucks
- Whether you are supporting, objecting to, or commenting on the proposal
- Details of your comments.

We've only got until the 27th October 2008 to express our views!

8. Hey Mayor of Pitman, can we park in your driveway?

*There is currently a new "Municipal Parking Lots" ordinance that will be in effect starting September 1, 2008.

*This ordinance will require Pitman residents who do not have parking at their homes, to purchase a parking permit to park in a public lot. Without purchasing this overnight parking permit for $100 per year, overnight parking in a public lot is prohibited. (For more information please see the flyer or go to www.pitman.org)

*Parking is difficult already for most residents who reside near the historial Pitman Grove. Most houses do not have driveways for parking to begin with. Some houses only have partially paved alley ways to park in. With these alley ways only partially paved, it makes getting in and out very difficult especially during winter months when it snows.

*We are also not allowed to park infront of our houses between the hours of 2:00 am to 6:00 am without being ticketed. They allow us to "call" our cars in if we do have to park outside. However, if you call too many times you abuse your parking priviledge and they put you on a reject list.

*Pitman recently expanded the baseball field on Lincoln and Cleveland Ave which took away ample parking for Pitman residents. That field is rarely used for anything.

*The ordinance states that even if we buy these $100 parking permits they can not guarantee parking spots. What do we do then? Where do we park? This ordinance is already creating more problems then we presently have.

*Why are the residents near the Grove being penalized because we do not have ample parking like other areas of Pitman? It is not justifiable that the residents who don't have sufficient parking have to pay $100 a year just to park their car.

Please sign the following petition to help us to oppose this ordinance.

9. Gaeilge in the Gaeltachtai - Don't let the Gaeltacht areas die

Planning, or lack of it, is destroying the Gaeltachtaí.

For example in Gaeltacht na nDéise (Co Waterford) while more people are speaking Irish now than for a long time, the percentage has gone down due to the building of about 120 new houses in the area.

There is a chance that Gaeltacht na nDéise, the only Gaeltacht in the South East of Ireland, will loose its Gaeltacht status in the future if this continues. That would be scandalous and shameful. Don't let this happen.

11. Objection to proposed development of Old School House, Bradshaw

The proposed development of the 'Old School house' and cark park areas will have devastating effect on the local community.

The proposed erection of five three storey town houses along Lea Gate will not be in keeping with the village and conservation area. The local businesses will be adversely affected as parking for the Conservative Club and Church Garden Fisheries will no longer be available at this site.

Neighbours on Leagate will no longer have parking available to them. Trees have been earmarked for felling...this is supposed to be a conservation area!! You cannot have a satellite dish, but proposals for three storey houses made from stone, Timber and metal window frames may go ahead.

13. No to Glenaire housing development bordering Johnson Rd and Lake Ave

Proposed construction and building of 12 houses in the approx. 4.5 acres of land and trees bordering Johnson Rd and Lake Ave.

The construction of 12 houses will require a lot from our city's resources. The bridge and roads as they stand are unable to sustain the amount of traffic that will come before, during, and after the construction.

If the land is to be built up to street level this will create a run off into the creek causing ruin and over load on the creek. This will cause continual need for repair and rebuilding which in return causes need for the city's money.

Also, the changing of the property will be detrimental to the wet land and the natural habitat that reside on this land and in these woods.

14. Ban Burglar Alarms for Houses and Cars

How many lives are blighted by house and/or car alarms that go off and keep going off for what seems like hours.

The alarm should be hooked up to a central office which should be picked up immediately and switched off and the police informed.

Instead the alarm continues to scream annoying everyone in the vicinity who never see a burglar in sight.

15. Off road parking for residents of 54-64 Shawbury Road Manchester

There is 6 houses in Shawbury Road that the Council seem to overlook. The road her is very narrow and can not accomadate parked cars and the houses do not have off road parking. Each house has 2 or more cars causing cars to park on footpath. This is a danger to this part of Shawbury Road as emerency services would be unable to get down the narrow road.

Off road Parking would be a solution to this problem and could even save lives if the worst happened.

16. Against Low Income Condos or Houses Being Built in our Neighborhood

Charlotte has allowed a construction company to buy the golf course and passed zoning on building low income government supported housing.

Our neighborhood has already been subjected to increased crime rates and lowered property value.

If these low income government supported houses/apartments are allowed to be constructed in our predominately working class privately owned suburban neighborhood, then our property value will plummet. We will become what Charlotte calls a challenged neighborhood. The values will go down and crime will definately increase. Drugs will infiltrate our neighborhood, dealers will line the streets and crime will increase to high proportions.

We do not want anymore trouble. This project has to be terminated. The golf course is the supposed construction site. Those houses used to be worth at least 120,000 plus. After the government housing arrives those houses will be lucky to sell at all.

The city steadily increases our taxes, but wants to take away what we worked hard to achieve and will make our investments worth less than what we paid.

Please help by signing this petition to stop the construction of government housing in our neighborhood.

The council give houses to parents and old people but what about the people just starting out, they have no chance the only way you can get a place is to have a kid and thats why so many young people throw away there life because they are desperate. I think it is time that we made a stand. People who grow up in certain areas should be placed before Councils bring other people in.

19. Legalize Paintball in the USA

I believe that paintball should be made legal in the U.S.Paintball should be legalized all over the United States.

It doesn't make sense for it to be illegal in some places and legal in others. A person could buy a paintball marker in a place it is legal to buy one, then go to a place where it is illegal and do vandilism. If a paintball marker is illegal, why not a baseball bat? They can do the same things, vandalize and kill Do you no why paintball is considered dangerous? i'll tell you, its people who go around and shoot houses and cars and people. It is a very safe sport if the right precautions are takin, such as wering the right saftey gear especially made for the sport, and chronographing your marker before play. People dislike the idea of paintball because people call them "guns," when infact they 're markers. Please sign this petition to help legalize paintball! Thank you.

20. Stop allowing "Jake Brakes" on highway 540

Interstate 540 was built through an area by West Fork Ar, that is populated with several homes. The level of sound has increased tremendously. The loudest vehicles that drive through the area are the large trucks using "Jake Brakes" as they cross a bridge passing beside our neighborhoods. In many areas the sound is so loud that a conversation would have to wait until the truck would pass. The noise pollution from the highway could be greatly reduced by banning "Jake Brake" use on all down hill slopes near populated areas. Many areas post signs restricting Jake Brake use. Excessive noise from I-540 could also be reduced by installing a sound deflecting fence to direct noise away from houses. Evergreen trees planted along side the road before and after bridges could also reduce the noise that echos through our homes.

Residents with houses and property have lost property value from the undesirable sound that surrounds their homes. Excessive highway noise also contributes to residents stress, loss of sleep, and blocks out natural communications of native animal species normally heard in Arkansas forests.
