FORT LEE — Authorities say a 16-year-old male fell to his death Friday night while walking at Palisades Interstate Park in Fort Lee, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.

The teen was identified as John Graniello of Fort Lee.
Reports like these are nothing uncommon in the area. People of all ages have met their end at the cliffs in interstate park. a so called "safety railing" is in place to prevent people from reaching the edge. This railing is about 3 feet high and constructed of 3 flimsy wires. Deaths like John's are preventable with the right tools.

We are petitioning for a safer future. Adequate lighting, higher railing, and a safety net placed at the edge of the cliff will prevent newspaper reports like these and save many young lives like Johnny's.

We are asking that this safety measure be called "Johnny's Net".
