This is a petition for Health Canada to allow Electronic Cigarette Nicotine Alternatives for use in Canada.

Since its inception in 2006, the electronic cigarette has proved a viable source for smoking alternatives. The device consists of a small, elongated tube cosmetically similar to that of a cigarette. The difference is that the electronic cigarette delivers a harmless vapor that contains a small amount of nicotine, rather than the toxic slurry of chemicals found in traditional tobacco cigarettes.

The response from smokers who have used the product is tremendous and almost all that have used this product agree that it has allowed them to discontinue the use of tobacco cigarettes. Many of these users have reported better overall health and well being since using the Electronic Cigarette Nictone Alternative over traditional tabbaco products.

The government of Canada is not allowing the sale and distribution of these alternatives in Canada. Their official stand is that the E-Cigarette has been marketed as a cessation device and therefor is not a reasonable source to quit smoking. This is not the case nor has it been marketed as such, but rather, as a safer alternative to smoking. The more conceivable reason that they are not permitted in Canada is due to the high tax rates tobacco products carry here in Canada. It makes more financial sense for the government to continue to tax tobacco products and smoking cessation products (nicotine gum, patches, the inhaler) then to allow a product that is untaxable into their country.

I find this an outrage, as a smoker and having tried the electronic cigarette. I feel as if my rights are being violated. I feel that Canadians should be offered a smoking alternative as successful as this. I feel as if the government and big tobacco should no longer profit off our addictions and illnesses.

Australia is in dire need of a New Broadband infrastructure as the current network is not adequate for home and business use. By not implementing the NBN you are holding back Australian businesses from achieving there best in a worldwide marketplace.

The Labor Government has said The NBN will be Australia’s first national wholesale-only open access, high speed broadband platform. They will use Fibre Optic Cables which will replace the Old existing Copper Telstra Network. Labor has pledged to set up online consultations with GPs, allowing regional patients to see a doctor without leaving their home, while NBN Co chief Mike Quigley revealed last week that the NBN would be capable of internet speeds of up to 1Gbps, 100 times faster than originally believed.

The Coalition has proposed investing in a combination of technologies, including fibre optic, cable and wireless, to bring a minimum speed of 12Mbps to 97% of Australians. $1 billion public grant funding and additional, undisclosed private funding for building a wireless network for rural and regional areas
$1 billion on building a metropolitan wireless network focussed on outer metropolitan areas. Rural and Regional Areas would miss out on Fiber Optic and only be provided with Wireless or Satellite Access.

In the early 1960′s, the US government, concerned about Soviet expansion in the Indian Ocean, asked the British government to find an uninhabited island where the US could build a naval base. Returning the favour, the US would be willing to give $14 million in research and development fees for Britain’s Polaris missile program.

The first island located was Aldabra, near Madagascar. Aldabra fitted the bill in terms of it’s location and vitally it was uninhabited. However, the island was a breeding ground for a rare species of tortoise and their mating habits may have been affected by a military base. Looking for an alternative, the US decided on Diego Garcia, the largest island in the Chagos Archipelago. This had the benefit of leaving tortoise mating undisturbed but the island was home to 1,800 Chagossians, or Ilois, who had inhabited the islands for over 200 years.

The Chagossians were employed, grew their own food and fished and had built their own stores and a church. However, the courtesy for tortoises evidently didn’t apply to human beings. The government soon began a campaign to deal with the “population problem” to “maintain the pretense there [are] no permanent inhabitants.” This appalling attitude persisted and rather than seeing Diego Garcia as the society it was, it was regarded as a nuisance, summed up by the British diplomat Dennis Greenhill who said: “unfortunately along with the birds go some few Tarzans or Man Fridays whose origins are obscure and who are hopefully being wished on to Mauritius.”

They were “wished on to Mauritius”, as well as the Seychelles and the UK. This began in 1968 when residents who left Diego Garcia merely to visit Mauritius were refused return to the island. They were stranded in Mauritius, without any assistance in resettling or any compensation. To this day, the Chagossians in Mauritius still live in poverty. Soon after, the Americans began to arrive and the rest of the indigenous population were forced to leave. Only allowed to take clothes, their homes and possessions had to be abandoned and their pets were killed amidst threats that if they did not leave, they would otherwise be “bombed” and wouldn’t “be fed any longer.” All this was with the full knowledge and approval of Harold Wilson, Roy Jenkins and Denis Healey.

The inhumane treatment was compounded by the compensation later given to the Mauritius government. The £1.4 million only covered the debts incurred from resettlement and when it was dealt out to 595 Chagossian families, it was years later and significantly reduced by inflation. Another £6 million was paid in compensation but when the Chagossians claimed for it, they were required to endorse a renunciation form, written in English though they speak Creole, that forfeited their right to return home. This wasn’t even translated for them.

Injustice after injustice, finally in 2000 it was ruled that the forced removal was illegal and the right to return to the outer Chagos Islands was returned. This slight progress was then reneged when Jack Straw issued two Orders in Council in 2004 and the right to return was take away again. Even as soon as April this year, the Foreign Office proposed plans for a Marine Protected Area in the Chagos Archipelago that erects a barrier to any return to the islands. The outright dismissal of their rights continues.

That’s the story. Tragic, inhumane and unlawful. We desperately have to make amends and the best place to begin is by changing our policy on Chagos and campaigning for their right to return. To achieve this, we need your support.

Mistletoe has been used for many years in the support of the immune system for cancer patients. Many people benefit from its properties and it continues to be used today. Missouri bill SB586 places unreasonable restrictions on sexually oriented businesses such as strip clubs. This bill prohibits full nudity, any contact with patrons by employees and the consumption of alcohol.

The Marihuana Medical Access Division of the Canadian Government is archaic, wasteful, inefficient, and incapable of serving those who depend on it. Police have shut down Compassion Clubs in every province outside BC. They provided OUR ONLY SOURCE for a SELECTION of high quality, safe, effective, organic, medicinal cannabis products ~ the government DOES NOT!

MMAR applications are long, complicated, multi-part paper forms which have to be filed and re-filed ANNUALLY! Most patients who obtain a license WILL NEVER BE ANY BETTER! Why complicate and bog down an already horrendous process by repeating the unnecessary? Do they assume if you don’t re-apply that you have died? The doctor provides a prescription, the onus should be on him to modify it, if required, or stop it. Once approved, additional “paperwork” should be the exception – NOT THE RULE!

Patients and growers apply – AND WAIT – for months, or years! Many forms are returned for reasons that neither the patient NOR the doctor can figure out…they tell you there is a problem, not what it is. The BEST case scenario today is a 3 month MINIMUM before you can even ask about the status of your application. If you make an “inquiry” before the 10-12 week window they quote, you are told that IT WILL BE DELAYED!

Our government PRODUCES & DISPENSES SUB-STANDARD MEDICATION. Cannabis replaces MANY different medications and relieves 200 ailments and symptoms. They offer only “cigarettes” or seeds; one Grade (B); one strain (Indica); process it like tobacco to further reduce its efficacy; and sell it to us. They sell a lower grade product for about the same price as the “criminals” on the street offer.

Imagine the government closing pharmacies, making you apply for your medicine, making you wait AT LEAST 3 MONTHS to see whether or not you can have it, if you ask about it before then IT WILL BE DELAYED, and IF they let you have anything it will only be aspirin and YOU HAVE TO BUY THE STUFF THEY MAKE!

This absurd situation has precipitated the ABSOLUTE NEED for Compassion Clubs. If there is a problem with ONE NEW outlet, raid them. The more established, responsible clubs require letters from doctors – verified. They do not allow non-members inside or loitering outside. They dispense only what is allowed and no more than 2 weeks supply. They keep records and conduct business in an ethical manner.

The government approves licenses if you provide the correct form, sworn to, that you have a medical problem but can’t get a doctor to fill out their form. Is that so different from a notary? That problem is the person lying or the notary swearing to it >>NOT THE COMPASSION CLUBS!

The Canadian Government does not know what it is doing. They should ask for help from the network of Compassion Clubs, growers, and patients. We possess the first-hand knowledge, experience, skills, and insight needed to make this right. WE WANT TO HELP – JUST ASK!

Remove the England Flag from Above Number 10 Placed there for World Cup.

The British Government today announced it was replacing the union jack above number 10 downing street (British Flag) with the St. Georges Flag (English Flag) for the duration of the World Cup.

The British Government (a coalition between Conservative and Liberal Democrat Parties) was elected by the British Public and so the flag above 10 Downing Street should reflect this.

1. The Wishes of Alan Edward Hindley regarding his estate are to be put in order and adhered to. (The will submitted is a forgery, signatures too).
2. A fully transparent and comprehensive investigation in to all matters relating to AEH’s demise and the mishandling of his estate (must include all parties involved at the time and since).
3. Investigations must be overseen by Government at ministerial level.
4. The law must penalise ALL those parties who have aided and abetted Wendy Hindley.
5. Laws must be changed now so that a Last Will and Testament is followed to the letter.
6. A person’s Human Rights to continue after death: If someone abuses the trust by misappropriating a persons belongings or wealth it is an offence; this stops after your final breath.
7. Severe penalties put into place so that abusers of executorships are punished by the state (criminal offence as well as civil).
8. Forgery of Wills to have appropriate Laws and very severe penalties, which are enforced by the state.
9. Changes to the inheritance laws to be retrospective.
10. Ministry of Justice to hold executors responsible.
11. Solicitors and other parties are now taking money under false pretences when they draft a will and do not advise their clients that executors can and do act as they wish; therefore they do not adhere to the deceased wishes and will. A will can be said to be not of merchantable quality because it is not fit for its purpose. The Law Society and solicitors to immediately stop advertising their services for drafting a will under the pretext that when they draft wills, they are resolute. (At present this is blatant misrepresentation because they know it is not so). Any will can be ‘broken’ within minutes should the executors wish it. Therefore it contravenes normal consumer laws.
12. Create a Central Bureau where wills can be deposited should people wish.

• Police – Are not answerable to anybody and nobody takes responsibility allowing corruption to take place at all levels – Police State!? Incompetent and/or corrupt officers must be brought to book. The same must be said for those members of the IPCC.

• IPCC – Are NOT independent (police officers investigating their own colleagues cannot possibly make them independent). This needs to be changed to fit its description.

• Bristol Probate Office - needs scrutiny; it has proved itself obstructive and unethical at the very least.

• Undertaker, Coroner and Doctor involved, also need close scrutiny.

EchoGreen has been around for years with an intention to Do Something. We are a growing group of writers, musicians, singer songwriters, artists, media producers and web consultants. It's been a long time coming, the need is here.

Recently, as oil leaks into our oceans and we have images of tar rain pouring onto our bodies, homes, vehicles, animals and gardens, we cry for the dolphins, as it rains and we decide, the time is now.

EchoGreen will be sponsoring several petitions with the voice of those who are at one with the earth and its ways in the old way mixed with the new way. 

The old way being, feeling the vibration of the earth and the beings, in other words, feeling their life, their voices and their feelings reverberate through our beings, while hearing the voice of the earth as if it is speaking our language and an animate object. Earth is an animate object, we often, have just lost our ability to hear what it has to say. She/it/he is talking to many of us at once. And we have something to say via our translations.

Whereas the new way is through media, through business, through the grid and the economy of the West, speaking out to the people who can make the difference because they have the economy and consumption at their fingertips.

We are the people, we are the change, we are the ones we have been waiting for and we are here. Let's take it for the big one, let's do what we can. Let's petition to businesses, to governments, to presidents, to the people. Let's make our voices loud and clear and let's take a stand. 

We live, we eat, we release our waste, we breath, we love, we think, we feel, we dance, we laugh and we play, just as we all do or want to do.

It's time to do this without hurting the earth and others. What can we do? Whatever it is, you know inside you. Start by signing and making petitions and sending them to companies, making them popular. Campaigns are big and our voice can be heard. Do it from the heart and with integrity. On May 9th, 2010 The New York Times published an article titled Front Lines, AIDS War Is Falling Apart.

WHEREAS, one of the reasons the war on AIDS is falling apart is because of corruption within the Federal Government and the Black Market over Inflated Sales of AIDS and HIV Drugs In Africa and around the world. On Dec 1, 2009 an email was leaked that was sent from Africa by C.P.F.in which CPF stated

"there is a major black market scam being worked on the $30 million a year in HIV AIDS drugs we finance... I could easily name the in-house folks but my lips are sealed."

CPF is an Administrative Employee of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Presidential Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR).

Thousands of people are losing their lives every month because of the Black Market Sales of HIV/AIDS drugs which make the drugs unaffordable and sometimes the Black Market Retailers thin out the medicine with water and other chemicals and cause it to become toxic.

WHEREAS, Samuel A. Weems, who was elected as one of the one hundred delegates to rewrite the Arkansas Constitution and once held the office of prosecuting attorney has written a widely published article condemning CFF's support of violent activities and terrorists. Among his many statements to CPF which he forwarded to numerous politicians and published many places, he said "CPF, by your agency giving $15 million US tax dollars Your action is nothing more than the total support for a regime that is guilty of ethnic cleansing."

THEREFORE, it is concluded that CPF's finances all over the world warrant a full investigation.

FURTHER, the United States government has allowed, and is continuing to allow, CPF to benefit and/or direct the American people's tax money.

THEREFORE, it is up to the American people to exercise their rights and hold CPF accountable for financial irregularities which may or may not lead to CPF
revealing the names of in-house US Federal Government people involved in the Black Market over-Inflated Sales of AIDS and HIV Drugs In Africa.

CONSEQUENTLY, the people of the United States of America declare the following,

TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT: Pursuant to the Bill of Rights, Amendment One, we, the people of the United States, declare that we are grieved over the actions of CPF and hereby petition the United States government to take immediate action to cease funding CPF with any taxes from the United States of America in any way, manner of form until CPF's finances receive a full financial investigation. Millions of people are affected by Social Care in the UK, whether as users, relatives of users, workers providing services or volunteering time and money to social care.

The cost of providing social care is more than £16 billion, much more than is spent on more prominent issues, such as immigration.

Yet social care is often given a low priority by Government policy and ignored by much of the national media.

In 1987 Cherry Hill Elementary in Baltimore, Maryland adopted the first mandatory uniform policy. Since then five big population states have also adopted the policy. Many people believe that uniforms have no effect on schools except to spend money that many people don't have. However, studies show that crime rate drops almost 91% in schools with uniforms.

School suspensions dropped by 90%, sex offences were reduced 96% and incidents of vandalism went down 69%. This doesn't include the decrease in violence and theft, peer pressure, and gang relations, and the increase in school test and work grades, leading to the success of children in college and the work place.

Uniforms would lead to a safer educational facility and better learning environment.

As of July 1st 2010, 8% tax will be added to a litre of gas through the Ontario government's new Harmonized Sales Tax. Few Ontarians know this and an significant increase of 8% in gas prices could precipitate a slowdown in Ontario's economic recovery.

It is nothing short of another tax grab at a time when cost of living is outpacing salaries and wages. The government should rescind the HST on gas. All Ontarians will appreciate its gesture of goodwill.

Many doctors are prescribing medications to patients without fully understanding the side effects, interactions with other medications, and fail to provide adequate information to their patients. The elderly are especially vulnerable. They feel pressured with the doctors "time limit" and end up leaving the office with multiple prescriptions they do not understand. Pharmaceutical company representatives have elite status and access when visiting a doctor.

Several of these companies hand out excessive amounts of "free samples" to doctors (and junkets) in order to persuade them to prescribe their medications. Many doctors do not take the time to research these medications or the serious side effects they may have.

The elderly are more likely to have negative side effects,reactions, and are not fully informed about these medications.

A future cashless society will have several benefits for the community. Firstly, it will increase the detection of crime and be a catalyst for its reduction. As a consequence, it will lower violence in the community.

Secondly, it will reduce the black market that is based on cash and promote the integrity of the income tax base. This will give governments the funds to implement social welfare programs, pay off debt, as well as increase spending on all forms of needed infrastructure.

Thirdly, it will promote greater efficiency in the economy by eliminating the costs of managing cash in terms of counting, securing, and transporting it to banks and other commercial establishments.

The privacy of all Australians is currently protected by national privacy laws. National privacy legislation can be strengthened if needed before the introduction of a cashless economy.

There is absolutely no need for any person or business to apply for any form of credit from any institution, in a proposed Australian cashless society, in order to execute day to day transactions. All Australians can currently apply for and obtain Eftpos Cards, Visa Debit Cards, or Mastercard Debit Cards from any bank or credit union.

The technology for cashless transactions for the visually impaired can and will be developed so that they are not left-out of the means to excecute cashless transactions.

The use of the internet and mobile phone to perform cashless transactions are with us already, or in the case of mobile phones, will be further developed in future using currently available technology called radio frequency identification (RFID).

Australia currently has the technology to become a cashless society. With future research, current cashless methods can be refined while new cashless methods of making purchases can be developed.
