The alarm should be hooked up to a central office which should be picked up immediately and switched off and the police informed.

Rod R. Blagojevich, Governor of Illinois, refuses to live in the Governor's Mansion in Springfield and continues to reside full time in his Chicago home with his family.

There are no objections to strong family ties, however to maintain such a situation, the Governor uses a state owned plane to fly to and from Springfield on days when the legislature is in session.

The expense for such transportation is astronomical and needs to be curtailed. The State of Illinois is in deep financial trouble and cannot afford such luxuries for one individual.

For years there has been a battle between the local government in Kazakhstan and an innocent ISKCON community. Based on the excuse that the devotees do not have sufficient legal permission and their religion is not 'traditional to Kazakhstan', the government have been endeavouring to destroy the ISKCON temple and devotees homes by force so they can develop the land for another use. This is a serious breach of human rights!

Workers and police arrived on 15th June at the village near Almaty, Kazakhstan, where the embattled Hare Krishna commune is based to demolish twelve more Hare Krishna-owned homes. "The houses were literally crushed into dust. By ten o'clock it was all over," said ISKCON spokesperson Maksim Varfolomeyev.

The temple, which the devotees have been ordered to destroy by today, has not been touched but the devotees fear it could be the next target. Human rights activist Yevgeny Zhovtis is outraged at the continuing destruction. "The authorities are showing that they will do what they want, despite the international outrage at the earlier demolitions of Hare Krishna-owned homes." He believes the local administration chief "doesn't care about the political damage to Kazakhstan's reputation – or to its desire to chair the OSCE."

Around May 15, 2007, the US Military was conducting routine exercises. At some point in these exercises a flare was discharged and a HUGE fire was started in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey. At this present time, 7 pm EST on May 16, 2007, over 13,000 acres of land and approximately 13 homes have been damaged or destroyed.

The government has given people some money to help them out but NO ONE from the government has stepped up to help the local animal shelters that are in the area of this enormous fire, which they (the government) has caused.

I, Kim Dermond, have taken this upon myself to help the animal shelters involved in this horrific fire. I am demanding that the US government help these shelters and the animals monetarily.

Every one has seen the “Republican” Political action committee ads posing supposed veterans when those are not all veterans. Between 1936-39 preceding World War II, while the conservative leadership of the so called free bourgeois democratic world (including President Roosevelt Prime Minister Chamberlain) appeased Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, and the reactionary Roman Catholic Church hierarchy there was a group of Americans that gave up they youth, and lives to fight fascism called the Abraham Lincoln Brigade *1 they did not sit comfortably at home.

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade volunteers were part of the International Brigades a greater effort comprising tens of thousands of anti-fascist volunteer combatants that went to Spain to defend the democratically elected government of Spain against Franco fascists in league with the German Nazis and fascist Italian troops in support of American interests. While the Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy bombed Spanish cities in support of Spanish fascism, the great liberals foundations of the Industrial world sat by and did nothing or collaborated with the fascists.

Members of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade came from many walks of life and different political progressive political backgrounds left without the approval and consent of their government returned to be label premature anti-fascists and communist when they weren’t.

Whereas the Flying Tigers received the approval and recognition of the US government and Roosevelt five years after the start of the Spanish conflict, the veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade never received such recognition, nor were they accorded pensions, benefits, or allowed into the US military when World War II started.

Whereas European members of the resistance were accorded honors by their respective governments all Abraham Lincoln Brigade veterans should be given, or posthumously receive all honors and benefits as American (US) veterans of World War II would of received.

*1 Abraham Lincoln Brigade - In the Spanish Civil War, a brigade consisted of four to six battalions. [1] American volunteers mostly joined the two battalions (the Lincoln Battalion and the Washington Battalion) within XV International Brigade. The XV International Brigade was made up of six battalions of volunteers from nations around the globe, topped up with Spanish conscripts. [2]

As time went on, the name Abraham Lincoln Brigade became used loosely, in the United States, as shorthand to describe any unit with an American component. Volunteers from the United States also served with the Canadian Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion; the Regiment de Tren (transport); and the John Brown Anti-Aircraft Battery. North Americans also ran a very well-organized and well-equipped field hospital (funded and staffed by the American Medical Bureau to Save Spanish Democracy).

The Hilary Price Memorial Petition is aimed at catalysing a change in the law to enable seriously ill patients, who suffer from an otherwise untreatable condition, to receive medication which has yet to receive formal approval. Any such medication would be taken entirely at the patient’s own risk on an informed consent basis.

Hilary Price was a Multiple Sclerosis sufferer who desperately wanted to get better but gradually lost her fight in the long battle against MS, primarily because the right medication was not available in time to alleviate her problems. Eventually she suffered a massive stroke as a result of breathing complications caused by the MS and died a few days later. Our aim is to ensure that a patient’s health is no longer compromised in this fashion.

Proventus asks the government to implement a change in our laws to give the right to any sufferer when in a position of supreme disadvantage from their disorder/disease for that person to be able to make final full decisions regarding all available treatments and to accept total liability when so doing, instead of others making those decisions for them.

Pit bulls are one of the greatest dogs you could ever want! They are sweet, smart, loving, gentle, and most of all, NOT human aggressive!

Don't punish the breed, punish the deed!

According to studies, you are more likely to get attacked by a Collie (Lassie dog) then by a pit bull.

Don't judge a dog by it's looks! After all, how would you like it if the government decided to ban YOUR dog? Wouldn't you do anything to fight a law like that? Please help me rid Addison of the Pit Bull ban.

Canada's commercial seal hunt is a hunt like no other. It is a cruel and unethical practice that produces a product nobody needs.

In fact, 98% of the animals killed in the past two years have been seal pups aged about 2 weeks to 3 months. This unmanageable hunt takes place over a vast area, making it impossible to carry out humanely.

But thanks to government subsidies and increased harp seal quotas over the past ten years, the seal hunt is back and worse than ever. The animal cruelty to seal pups as young as two weeks old, whether beaten or shot, is both unnecessary and wasteful. As we do every year, IFAW hunt monitors will gather the information we need to continue educating politicians and the public about the many scientific, economic and moral reasons to end the commercial seal hunt in Canada once and for all.

A College Education is a very valuable asset in Life, and more importantly the labour force. The degree also gives you a voice, and makes people take notice. Your opinion is an educated one and therefore respected. There is a trend, however, that may take a way your voice away. That is the increase in tuition fee's over the last sixteen years.

In British Columbia the average tuition fee has increased by $3152 over the last sixteen years. Kwantlen has always been the forefront of great education for a lowered tuition, but even it has faced the increase in tuition fees. Are we not worth it? Does our generation not require an education? One answer to this problem would be to obtain a student loan, but loans only breed debt.

Over 45% of College students will be in debt after college. The average debt has grown from $ 10,800-19,000 in just 10 years, and one out of seven bachelor graduates will owe $ 25,000 in debt. A student could work to pay his tuition, but with tuition increasing as it is it would take a lot of hours per week. These hours would detract from time spent studying, and possibly impairing academic performance. Moreover, studies have shown that students working twenty hours or more are likely to drop out.

By dropping out the student just lost possibly $600,000 over a life time and decrease his chances of employment by 6 percent. More importantly he just lost his voice. Let your Voice be heard, and let the government know that tuition fee’s need to be reduced.

Human nutrition should be added to the secondary education curriculum. Children are encouraged to eat healthy and cook healthy, however they are not taught the why behind it, for example what function a nutrient has in the body, or the current guidelines.

Human nutrition is a vast subject concerning health, and food, the basis of existance. Society would benefit from learning about in detail.
They learn history... how will that benefit their future. This kind of education in the future will reduce diseases such as obesity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes, and in turn will be a the huge reduction in costs to the NHS and society.

The United Nations Security Council,the UNESCO and the International community repetadly ask the LTTE stop use of children in the ongoing armed conflict in Sri Lnka but after the recent fall of the peace accord the LTTE has announced that they will continue to use children in their gurrillas suits to fight against the Armed forces, the dissapearance of the children increasing and you attention and immeidate action need to stop the LTTE CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN in Sri Lanka and which your state is a member, has taken decisive action to end this practice.

However, to date, your government has not yet ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict, an essential step toward stopping child recruitment.

We urge your government to ratify the Optional Protocol, without reservations and to setting 18 as the minimum age for all forms of military recruitment, as an essential step toward ending the use of children as soldiers.

The drinking age was raised to 21, up from 18, in 1992 when the federal government said they would cut states highway funding by 10% if they did not raise their state drinking age to 21.

To me this seems like blackmail but the government has said otherwise. In the end, the states have final say and I would like to get this issue on the ballot in November of 2007.

Following the 1991 Gulf War, the United Nations mandated that Iraqi chemical, biological, nuclear, and long range missile programs be verifiably halted and all such weapons verifiable destroy. U.N weapons inspector inside Iraq were able to verify the destruction of a large amount of WMD-material, but substantial issues remained unresolved after they left Iraq in 1998 due to the lack of cooperation by the Iraqi government.

After 9/11 attacks, the president of the United States George W. Bush claimed that Saddam Hussein supported for international terrorist groups of treat to the West. He demanded a complete end to alleged Iraqi production and use of weapons of mass destruction and that Iraq comply with UN Resolutions requiring UN inspectors unfettered access to areas those inspectors thought might have weapons production facilities. During this time, before 2003 invasion of Iraq, Bush repeatedly backed demands for unfettered inspection and disarmament with treats of invasion.

Even though the government of Iraq agreed to new inspections in late 2002 and inspectors did not find any WMD stockpiles, the United States, United Kingdom, and Spain proposed another resolution on Iraq, witch they called the “ eighteenth resolution” to give Iraq a deadline to comply with previous resolution before a possible military intervention. This proposed resolution was subsequently withdrawn because not enough countries would have supported it. In particular, NATO members France and Germany, together with Russia, were opposed to a military intervention in Iraq, on the ground that it would be very risky, in terms of security, for the international community, and defended a diplomatic process of disarmament.

However, the White House had never stopped its plan which invading Iraq to achieve their “purpose”. In March 2003 the U.S. government announced that “diplomacy has failed” and that it would proceed with a coalition of allied countries, named “coalition of the willing”, to rid Iraq of its alleged weapons of mass destruction witch meant the war in Iraq was on hand.

It has been a long upheld belief of the UK Government and school authorities that wearing school uniform boosts morale, prevents bullying, improves the learning environment and provokes pride.

Not one of these claims has any discerning scientific evidence to promote them, and the sad fact is that mandatory school uniform is a practice of totalitarianism embraced blindly by school authorities in the United Kingdom.

Even the faintest notion that forcing students to adorn uniform, especially as restricting and inconvenient as it is in the majority of cases, promotes morale and respect for a school is the most preposterous thought that could cross any persons mind. Obviously, forcing anybody to do something they don’t wish to will breed strong disrespect for the body inflicting that thing upon them. This is only amplified by the fact that that thing is so painfully and blatantly non essential and efficiency would be monumentally increased if that thing was nullified.

School uniform in fact neither provokes pride nor boosts morale, but instead breeds hatred for the authority the student is being dictated by. States of mind spawn like “I was born on this Earth and already have been made to go to school by others essentially equal to me, and am even made to wear a ridiculous uniform – why should I do either? I have a right to lead my own life,” and “If this world is dictated by such old fashioned and ignorant dictators, how am I helping by doing what they say?” spread like wildfire and problems like truancy and vandalism occur as a direct result.

School is an institution designed to teach young people, after all, and although discipline is an essential element in producing generations that are productive during their life, there is a fine line between discipline and denial of human rights. The idea that young people should have their time taken from them, in the form of a detention, if their parents do not purchase a uniform is absurd.

Here is what a parent can expect to pay for a uniform for an average secondary school student. These prices are from School Uniform Direct (http://www.schooluniformdirect.co.uk), a popular school wear distributor.

That adds up to £130.96 per student, usually per year because this clothing just doesn’t last. That means in one students school life, about £1440.56 and above can be spent just on uniform. Guess why? Because a school just isn’t the right environment to be wearing such ridiculous garments of clothing.

Now we come to the most outlandish statement of all; school uniform improves the learning environment. I actually laughed when I was told this was one of the reasons school uniform was compulsory in the UK. How old fashioned! How short sited! How completely disregarding what schools are all about; young people and their education! The UK’s schools bear a disconcerting likeness to Hitler’s Germany; the stern belief that any smidgen of individuality should be smashed.

It has been scientifically proven that young people learn best in an environment they find comfortable; something school uniform most certainly isn’t. It doesn’t keep you warm in the winter, and in the summer you roast; this makes concentrating extremely hard.

In addition to this, the government actually believes that wearing a school uniform will prevent bullying because students from lower income families and social classes cannot afford fashionable clothing. This is nonsense. I have several t-shirts, shirts, fleeces, jackets, jeans and a perfectly good pair of shoes for out of school, and all together none of them cost as much as £130.96 – and each of the garments I wear at home have a lifespan of several years! They are also perfectly fashionable!

The Australian Government has deliberately sabotaged attempts to make electric vehicles available to consumers in Australia to protect the oil industry.

While Australians suffer record high petrol prices and the effects of the effects of global warming in our worst droughts ever, our government is delaying the arrival of safe, clean, zero emission battery powered vehicles which can be charged via a standard power point.

Contrary to popular belief, viable private vehicles have been available since 2002 and are being driven by people in Europe and the United States. BEV's are capable of acceleration performance that exceeds gasoline powered vehicles and produce no noise pollution. Mass produced vehicles are safe and affordable. Yet government red tape has prevented their availability to Australians.

The Reva, a family car powered by electricity made in India has sold over 1,800 vehicles around the world since 2001. The Solar Shop in Adelaide has distribution rights and a the vehicle has a competitive retail price of $15,000 AUD, but the government will not let them sell it.

The Xebra, another battery vehicle has sold 200 vehicles in the US since 2006 but is not yet available in Australia but retails for around $13,500 AUD.

Both these vehicles are cheaper to buy than most models of commercial petrol powered vehicles and far cheaper to run than even LPG or ethanol powered cars.

These initiatives are supported in the UK with congestion tax exemptions and also in California.
Meanwhile, Australians are being made to drive vehicles which cost between four to six times as much per kilometre to operate or expensive hybrid cars which are not the ideal solution.

Our nation is the biggest greenhouse polluter in the world per capita, our government is not committed to ratifying Kyoto and transport accounts for over 15% of our total greenhouse emmisions.

Our government is making saving compulsory by superannuation, but not allowing us to save on our basic transport costs.

The Australian government argues that there is no demand for these vehicles, however until the government lets these be sold, how can they know whether there is not demand ? Instead, they continue to encourage LPG conversions and ethanol use as solutions for petrol prices and no solution for greenhouse gas reduction at the same time denying Australians a cheaper alternative.

Since 1997 Labour have overseen the closure of 4,723 post offices. North West Leicestershire has lost many village Post Offices in places such as Blackfordby, Albert Village and Coleorton. Post Office branches are vital if we are to combat both social and financial exclusion, and this Government wants to continue destroy this vital network by closing a further 3000 Post Offices.

Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman for North West Leicestershire Andrew Bridgen advocates the freeing up of subpostmasters and postmistresses, to provide a greater range of products and services, as well as a scheme whereby people with concerns about a range of Government services can use their local Post Office as a kind of 'Government GP'. This can advise on issues such as tax returns, pension entitlements and the opening hours of local pharmacies.

It is reported that more than 350 children were admited to Alder Hey hospital between Oct '05-Oct 06 as victims of attacks by dogs. Many of these injuries required surgery.

More recently we have read reports of children being killed by dogs in the UK.

Strict controls need to be put in place to protect the public from dangerous animals - the UK public need to put pressure on the government to introduce laws to protect us before another child is killed.

We, the people of Republika Srpska, do have Christian way of life as the rest of the Europe and with such values we desire to join integration into European community.

Serbian people desire to bring into European community from our own perspective, respect for all with ingredients which will benefit man kind. We do not want to be any part of any integration which would create a melting pot whereby we would as a nation simply disappear. Present status fully warrants our concerns. To prevent this occurrence, it is necessary first to integrate our own, Serbian people, and than join the community.

People of Republika Srpska desire to egress from present union, which is forcefully created, against everyone's will.

Here are some reasons for definite desire to leave union of BH.
Totally opposite interpretation of resent war - friction.

With no respect for law, and with no legal ground Federation side has entered into lawsuit with neighbor Serbia, whereby they are in fact suing ourselves. All is done at their own initiative without any regard for our objections. It is simply job creation for themselves.

State symbols do not represent our way of life, our culture, our history, they simply, mean absolutely nothing to people of Republika Srpska. They are forced upon everyone living in Republika Srpska.

Centralizing government means all laws all taxes, all economic power will simply be in the hands of majority, which will do at will. Certainly not for benefit of Republika Srpska, since present and past had shown this track record.

Central power, will at will, as a majority, support Al Kaida basses as it has done in the past as well as present. Terrorism is not our way of life and newer has been. Terrorism will, as we all know destabilize region.

Centralizing power, from constitutive people will make us apsolute minority. On the same token in Kosovo from the minority, they are given nationality.

So far, union of BH has shown that no democratic economy can prosper. Present election as is and as it is controlled form outside, has show that no true representative of the people for the people is ever elected. This situation is placing people into position of absolute distrust with its so called leaders.

From above points, which are in brief, we believe that you can see clearly that peace in this region will not last for long, peace which you and us desire and respect so much. Therefore, we believe that you will respect and recommend fulfillment of basic human rights of Serbian people, and its desire for self determination, which is tide to its freedom and liberty.

We are informing you further of the fact that our organization "Serbian Peoples Movement - Choice is Ours" which is not associated with any government, have collected all ready over 40,000 (forty thousand) signatures. With this number of signature collected from citizens of Republika Srpska, in very short period of times, we have clearly indicated definite desire of Serbian people to leave union of BH. LO'real is one of many companies that refuse to stop testing on animals. They perform experiments such as; blinding kittens, injecting cosmetics into dogs, mice, rats, cats, rabbits, guineapigs, and loads more, de-barking dogs (removing their voice) and so many more inhumane torturous ways!

As a quick and cheap way of killing small animals, their heads are cut off with scissors, and they recieve no pain killers at all.

Why is it that if you ask a laboritary animal tester, why they test on animals, they reply "because they are like humans, and we need to see if products are safe on humans," but when you ask why they should test on animals, if they are so like humans, they say "Because they are not the same as humans!!" this is wrong and scientists know it!!!

That infection rate is eight times the rate of whites. Among women, the numbers are even more shocking—- almost 70 percent of all newly diagnosed HIV-positive women in the Canada are black women.

Black women are 23 times more likely to be diagnosed with AIDS than white women, with heterosexual contact being the overwhelming method of infection in black America.

It is an expectation of each individual to maintain and promote a safe environment for all children and for those who are unable to defend themselves.

It should be an obligation of our government to provide reasonable information that will benefit those of us who are caring for our future, those who are our children.

In achieving a safe environment it should be expected that our government make freely available a database listing convicted sex offenders and paedophiles. It should be without hesitation that such a database be available not just to a select few but to the whole of Australia and so that all socio-economic backgrounds can benefit without financial discrimination.
