There are times when the choices we make in life are merely inconsequential; they have no significant effect on us one way or the other. Other times, the decisions we make will have a grave influence on the narrative of our lives. As children, we are unaware of the power that lies within those choices.
Our minds cannot comprehend that balance between making the right or wrong decision can, in an instant, tear down the walls of all that we have worked so hard to build. Such is my dreadful case.
In 1998, I was a student, a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, and a friend to many. I was also an 18 year-old all-star athlete and a football player in Edwardsville, Illinois, where I chose to give up my dream of playing for a major university so that I could be a father to my child, Keyonte K. Jackson. Upon hearing the news of my girlfriend's pregnancy, I enrolled in a local community college so that I could be present for the birth and raising of my son, and we moved into a home of our own to raise Keyonte.
After Keyonte's birth, and when he was around five months old, I began to notice that he was not developing as rapidly as other infants he had been around. One of my greatest hopes for my son was that he would someday grow to be an athlete much like myself. So, I perceived that Keyonte's inability to develop at a similar rate, as the other infants, would place the child at a disadvantage. In my naiveté, I did not understand that infants tend to develop at various rates and that my son's development was, in fact, perfectly normal. So, when I came across a magazine article that advocated baby exercises as a means to improve the mechanics in young children, I foolishly construed this as meaning that it would be acceptable to perform, what I called, muscle strengthening exercises on my son. This included, but was not limited to, attempting to strengthen my son's abdominal muscles with massages. It was these exercises in particular that would ultimately contribute to the death of my five month-old baby, Keyonte Jackson.
Losing a child as a result of my own actions is something I will live with, and will have to continue living with every day of my life, regardless of my place of residence. Time will not take away the pain I feel everyday knowing my actions contributed to the death of my son. I’ve punished myself far beyond anything the judicial system has done to me. I carry this horrific mistake inside my soul daily, one that can never truly be rectified. I loved my son beyond words, and love him even more today. Because of my actions I will never know what type of young man he would have turned out to be; how well he would have excelled in school; the girls he would have chosen to date; the woman he would have chosen to marry; the children that would have come from that union; what special gifts & talents he would have possessed, what his hopes, dreams, & aspirations were to be. I will never know my son beyond the brief 5 1/2 months of pure pleasure I had with him in 1998. I loved Keyonte beyond words, and love him even more today. His spirit empowers me to live each day with gratitude & love, inspiring me to be a better person as I continue on this life’s journey.
I am eternally sorry for the pain & devastation I’ve caused Keyonte’s mother, Vanessa, the Christakos family, my family, & all whom loved my son. If I could turn back the clock & do things differently, I would most certainly do so. I can't begin to imagine how my actions impacted each one of your lives, and the words “I‘m sorry” just doesn‘t adequately describe my genuine sorrow for causing your pain. I will never be able to reverse history, but I will spend the rest of my life trying by helping other young people in similar situations to not make the same tragic mistakes I’ve made in my youth.
I was once a dutiful father; an employed and productive member of society, and had never been involved with the judicial system prior to this incident. Never could I have imagined that I would make such a poor choice, or that one ill-conceived decision that would forever alter my path toward becoming a success in life. My current predicament is something that has been very trying for me and I continue to struggle with the pain I’ve caused so many with my reckless actions. And yet, in spite of my circumstances, I’ve made it my mission in life to better myself in every area of my life.
Since my incarceration nearly 13 years ago, I have become a prolific writer and is striving to become a published author. Educational opportunities in Illinois maximum security prisons have become non-existent; despite this fact, I have utilized my time seeking out my own educational endeavors. I have become adept in spirituality, philosophy, science, astronomy, meditation, world history, politics, religion, and economics. I have used this experience to self-educate, empower myself towards doing nothing but good deeds, and to grow as a man and as a human being. I try to offer love, compassion, and guidance to all whom I encounter; hoping to, in some way, add substance & volume to the characters of others instead of diminishing them; In turn, this is what they contribute to my life as well.
Currently, I’ve obtained competent legal representation and the support of the John Howard Association of Illinois. I have a loving family, supportive friends, and a host of well-wishers across the globe whom are all anxiously awaiting my release.

67. Petition to Receive University Degree without Delay from Memorial University of Newfoundland
Each year universities such as Memorial University of Newfoundland hold Spring and Fall Convocations. While convocation can be an enjoyable time for students and family to gather during this ceremony it poses an inconvenience for students completing their degrees at the end of the Fall semester (December).
Students who may have met all the academic requirements and paid all outstanding fees still have to wait until Spring Convocation (Approximately 5 months) to receive their parchment.
According to Memorial University Regulations, section 49 of the Memorial University Act:
"The Chancellor shall be the Chairperson of Convocation and all degrees shall be conferred by him or her."
Basically put, you have to wait until the university's Chancellor give you your parchment.
However, students seeking employment and wishing to go overseas often require an original degree as a requirement of their employer or the foreign government.
Some universities agree to give you a "Pre-convocation Diploma" which is basically a parchment much the same as a degree to take the place of your actual degree, pending convocation.
If any university is going to go through the trouble of creating a "Pre-convocation" diploma then why can't they simple give students their degrees in advance of convocation?
If students have met completed the academic requirements for their degree and paid all fees associated with their education they have aright to receive their degree without delay.
As a representative from Memorial University's Registrar's Office stated in a recent email (December 8, 2010 2:50 PM), paraphrasing:
"it is my view that the process of conferring degrees at Memorial is not a regulation but stems from a longstanding practice or custom in place at universities generally"
Not a regulation but a tradition, and one that needs to change!
68. Facebook Should Never Ask For Too Much From Facebook Users
Facebook should be a free site without mobile or credit cards and having to prove your identity with government ID. Gift apps now require credit card or mobile with a confirmation code and when asked to get a confirmation code they never do send one. Facebook asks for too much.
Facebook should be more respectful towards privacy and with out having to get millions of people to give out too much personal information. People world wide are being picked on by Facebook, losing their account for no reason or being booted for some silly childish reason?
Note: not everyone has a credit card or mobile phone and probably some have never been to College or University? Why make it harder for millions of innocent Facebook users? It is time for a change!

The Sand Bar & YMCA Tauranga have asked a Tauranga City Council committee to offer them a joint permit to operate at the foot of Mount Drury this summer.
The Sand Bar will operate as licensed premises, with a variety of entertainment, with two YMCA operated areas attached.
The 1st proposed area would be for 5-13 year olds, in a marquee where children would be supervised in YMCA programmes.
The 2nd area, also in a marquee, would be for 14-17 year olds & would offer teenage activities such as 'mocktails' & Playstations etc, with some supervision.

Methodist Hospital in New Orleans East has been closed to the public since August 29,2005, Post-Hurricane Katrina. It is now coming up on the 5th Year Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and residents still do not have access to a hospital with emergency services.
40 Million Dollars has been allocated for a hospital. A newly built hospital is being promised which would take another 3-5 years and there are over 77,000 residents without this service.

On Saturday 12th June 2010, A 17-year-old man lost his life due to the irresponsibility of two men drag racing along Marion Road, South Australia. Corey Siemers car was hit on the drivers side at high speed when he attempted to make a right hand turn onto Marion Road. This tragic accident was in no way Corey's fault. Some people have taken it upon themselves to make disgusting pages on Facebook. These pages are full of abuse, lies and disgusting pictures directed at Corey and his family.

80. Ban access to FaceBook site in Holy cities of Mecca and Medina
Freedom of speech is a right, but this right is not befitting of irrationality. It should be treated like any other right afforded by civil liberties: with responsibility. And when it is abused, an apology or some form of resolution is required.
Facebook's policy makes it clear that obscene content and the triggering of hate material toward any group, individual, or religion will be banned and removed. Last year, Facebook was quick to honour requests by Italian authorities to shut down a page dedicated to Massimo Tartaglia, the man who allegedly punched Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi at a political rally in Milan. While No such urgency found its way to the controversy behind the Removal of Group who call for drawing Images/Photos of Our Beloved Prophet.
According to its own terms, conditions, and precedents, Facebook should have removed the group much earlier which they didn't and this has raised huge anger and a great disappointment among every descent men and women.

PLEASE HELP CHANGE THE RIGHTS OF FROZEN EMBRYO'S.
I a single mum of my Daughter Vienna-Rose who was one of three of the Embryo's in Question. Well I was going to have a second child two yrs ago but my ex fiancée stopped me going through the IVF process, a week before we were going to Newcastle to have it done. So our relationship died from that day.
I have been on a personal journey since that day, trying to gain custody of my two Embryo's. Also I have been doing so much research & educating my self on the laws & ethics of the rights of life for Frozen Embryo's.
I have been researching the legislative laws around the world & how all frozen Embryo's have been placed under the property law act instead of the family law act. These cases that have been fought but never been won, the reason is that EMBRYO'S had no Identity & NO Merit or Status in life.
So I Finally found a clause in every thing that I read, I found a lawyer who would listen to me and understand my views. I told my lawyer that we should try to take the Embryo's out of the Property Law Act and try to place them under the Family Law Act so that way they would have some merit in life. That is when I was campaigning through Parliament to help me change the acts. All I'm asking is that my future children to have a identity and if i lose; I would like to know that these little LOST TINY ANGELS would be put to rest as a viable child, instead of a piece of furniture..
My daughter isn't property! So why is it that when life is just cells why can't they have some dignity?
I know that the surplus of embryo's that are in storage and they are discarded in a bucket called BIO WASTE and then thrown in an incinerator to be destroyed. Why is life so worthless when politicians have a say.. why do you allow ABORTIONS and the Culling of Frozen Embryo's. But on the other hand you won't accept EUTHANASIA where THEY HAVE A VOICE and say they want to past over. Go figure.. How can you sit there knowing that life could be taken in a second. I am putting a massive campaign and petition together, for the rights of life and to get these laws change. I have a massive following on face book and have done several media interviews so I'm not just a normal every day person asking for help.

Michael Jackson is an innocent man who only wanted to bring the world love and happiness. Because of his popularity, the media often spread rumors---that of course, are far from reality. There Youtube videos that contain lies and disgusting rumors about MJ. There are even channels who spread hate and animosity about him withour any particular reason--other than the fact that they think he is weird or a pedophile (which is another one of those lies).
We also need to remove hate groups on FB. Michael Jackson did his best to try and heal the world, and this is the least we can do. Sign the petition, stop hate on MJ and make a difference. L.O.V.E.

85. We Stand With Arizona, and Against Illegal Immigration
Arizona is besieged by illegal immigration--more people and drugs cross illegally into the United States through Arizona than any other state. And Arizonans suffer the massive levels of crime that go with it. Drug and human smuggling, extortion, kidnapping and murders. And the Federal government has done NOTHING to stop it.
Arizonans have had enough. They decided to stop waiting for the Feds to do what the Constitution mandates--to protect its citizens from external threats. So they passed legislation to help stop the robberies, shootings, rapes, kidnapping, murders, and madness.
This isn't about racism, or xenophobia, or "apartheid" or any of the other hysterical slanders the left has come up. This is about the safety and well-being of the citizens of the state. And its support was overwhelming: 70% of Arizonans supported it. And support is Bi-Partisan, with 84% of Republicans and 51% of Democrats in favor.
But some have now come out and called for a boycott of Arizona. Incredibly, even one of its own U.S. Representatives--Rep. Raul Grijalva has joined this call for a boycott--of his own state!
86. Bring Back Death Penalty In South Africa!
For the past fifteen years there has been a RAPID increase in murder, rape and all other incredibly savage acts and crime in general. South Africa is currently NUMBER ONE on in the world for murder, rape and all crime and therefore earned the name "CRIME CAPITAL OF THE WORLD".
More then THREE THOUSAND FARMERS have been murdered since 1994 and nearly more then 50 South Africans are murdered PER DAY! A BIG portion of that are CHILDREN that were RAPED TO DEATH!
These SAVAGES are seldom caught and only a few gets captured and convicted. Most of these murderers actually prefer being in jail. They receive clean beds, three meals and free education if they so desire.
This becomes another burden on the taxpayer. With other words the law-abiding citizens of South Africa actually are then the ones getting punished for the murderer 's heinous acts! More then 600 South Africans have actually successfully gained refugee status in other countries! HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS South Africans have already fled the country in fear of their lives! This resulted in the ultimate "Brain Drain" of the country.
Instead of keeping the LAW-ABIDING, EDUCATED citizens of South Africa IN the country, the Lack of the South African Government's involvement and lack of proper punishment has secured South Africa 's first place as a MURDER/RAPE/CRIME - CAPITAL IN THE WORLD!
I am of the strong opinion that Capital Punishment for murder should be reintroduced to South Africa! Amnesty International states that the Death Penalty 'violates the right of the life as proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.' The question - What about the lives and rights of the victims? Were they not entitled to the Right of Life and Prohibition of Torture?
The person that takes the life savagely of another should no longer benefit from the protections afforded under any legislation. The failure of the government to actually ensure the citizens of South Africa a safer country is no longer expectable.

I am a huge supporter of Farmville and love the game more than any I have ever played before. It has a few issues but I still always come back as everyone else does also. My chief complaint however is that Zynga needs to change the rules a bit.
We should be able to share our gifts and fuel with our neighbors. I have over 3000 fuel refills and I am at level 66 already. This leaves me a few more levels to go and I am certainly never going to use all of this before I hit level 70. Also, I believe we should be allowed to give the gifts we cannot use to our neighbors.
Why not make it more interesting by doing this? I have over 250 neighbors and they all agree with me on this one.
88. Safer Family Laws for Mums and Children in Australia
Take Action Now! Mothers and Children's Rights are not really taking into account. There is an urgent need to change The procedures in Courts are following right now regarding Domestic Violence, that not only involves Physical, but emotional and Psychological.
Currently the whole Legal System limits access to Legal Representation, Legal Representation does not have the right tools to help mothers, no one wants to listen, talk or see any evidence regarding this matter, apart from "Professionals"appointed by the Court.

Facebook is a social-networking website, but not just any social-networking website. It is the most popular one on the web, causing people to be addicted almost instantly. Why should we waste away our lives on an addiction, especially one that is counter-productive? Look to the future and what do you see? I see a future where hardly anyone talks face-to-face anymore; it is all based off of the web.
Just imagine, there will definitely be something more popular and more addicting than Facebook, so this addiction will get worse, but we can stop it or at least decline it. We can fix it. We can shape the future.
90. Canadians Against the "Quebec Style" Signage Bylaw of the City of Dieppe, N,B.
The City of Dieppe, New Brunswick has proposed a “Quebec Style” Commercial Signage Bylaw that all commercial signage must be in “ FRENCH ONLY “ or Bilingual while banning English only signage with fines for non compliance.
English and French are both the Official languages in Canada and both Language have Equal Rights and Privileges.
This is clearly DISCRIMINATION against the English language and against our Canadian Constitutional Rights to freedom of expression.
