61. Increase Legroom in all Longhaul Economy Class Seats
As air travel has boomed, companies have designed economy seats so that we, the passengers, have more legroom. This would reduce the risk of potentially deadly diseases, such as DVT. However, instead, airlines are using the extra space to cram in more seats, so that their pockets are even deeper.
Over the past few years, legroom in economy has drastically decreased, and there are now even talks about standing-room only, where you don't even get a seat but a backboard to 'rest' on.
For example, Emirates fit in 10-abreast seats in some of their aircraft, whereas it is recommended that there should only be 8-abreast seating in those aircraft. Should we stand for that?
It is now time to take a stand against these money-hungry airlines that couldn't care less about the passengers' comfort, after all, would these airlines still be without us?
62. Young Americans for Fiscal Responsibility
America's fiscal future is in serious jeopardy. Based on current projections, deficits will remain around $300 billion for the rest of the decade.
Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid comprise an increasing proportion of the federal budget and leave little room for discretionary spending on issues we care about. More baby boomers and less workers to support them means unsustainable debt is in our future if we don't take action now.
It is time for America's youth to insist on budgetary reform, across generational and partisanal divides. If we don't speak up now, we will be the ones to shoulder the burden in the future.
63. Abandon immigration restrictions for Mexican citizens
July 23, 2006
Mexico is the US neighbooring country with the economy for many years obstructed by socialist immigration laws creating social-like jobs consuming milions of tax dolars.
This petition is to abandon any immigration control and restrictions for Mexican citizens indefinitely.
This petition is from those who would like to see industrial hemp legalized for the purpose of benefiting our environment and our economy.
65. Universal Healthcare in the USA
Single payer health insurance is standard in most of the developed world.
The United States, its companies and its workers cannot compete against nations where health care is standard infrastructure.
Whereas: The escalating costs of health insurance and health care are creating unprecedented strains on our economy;
Whereas: our businesses function in a global economy where healthcare is provided as infrastructure for the competition;
Whereas: there are presently 45 million uninsured Americans;
Whereas: healthcare costs are a leading cause of corporate and personal bankruptcies; and
Whereas: our spending on Medicare and Medicaid alone exceeds per capita spending for universal coverage in other developed countries;
Whereas: the federal, state and local governments of the United States already spend 45% of all healthcare dollars;
Whereas: healthcare costs continue to grow at a rate in excess of three times the Consumer Price Index, growth which cannot be sustained.
We, the undersigned, do hereby petition the Congress of the United States to establish a system of Universal Healthcare for all Americans.
Such a system would embody the following features:
(a) Care and coverage universally available for all;
(b) Freedom to choose service provider;
(c) Single-payer insurance similar to other developed nations.
66. ABOLISH OUTSOURCING OF AMERICAN JOBS
Excerpted References: NYTimes.com Articles:
Op-Ed Columnist: Education Is No Protection on January 26, 2004 By BOB HERBERT:
"...The main objections came from a handful of protesters who stood outside in a brutally cold wind waving signs that said things like "Stop Sending Jobs Overseas" and "Put America Back to Work." No one paid them much attention.
The conference was titled "Offshore Outsourcing: Making the Journey Work for Your Corporation." Its goal was to bring executives up to speed on the hot new thing in corporate America, the shipment of higher-paying white-collar jobs to countries with eager, well-educated and much lower-paid workers.
... He said his firm had helped clients ship about a billion dollars' worth of projects offshore last year....
...You want a national security issue? Trust me, this threat to the long-term U.S. economy is a big one. Why it's not a thunderous issue in the presidential campaign is beyond me....
...We can grapple with this problem now, and try to develop workable solutions. Or we can ignore this fire in the basement of the national economy until it rages out of our control...."

on March 6, 2004 By LOUIS UCHITELLE:
"By almost every measure, the economy has been expanding at a healthy pace for six months. But the nation's employers remain stubbornly reluctant to add jobs in the United States.
Outsourcing abroad, particularly the shifting of work to China and India, so much in the news, is one reason hiring at home has been sparse...."
The following are general observations:
Our higher "cost to live" in America (versus those in most other countries)
is a "given burden" (for both natural born and those who acquire citizenship)
to live in America. It must certainly follow then that all working Americans
to have equivalent purchasing capability with citizens of other countries must be paid higher salaries. Other related topics needed for scrutiny are:
What is the tax loss to the U.S. on jobs given to foreign Nationals?
Who of the unemployed are not figured into the Labor Dept. unemployment
statistics.
WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, BELIEVE IN OUR CONSTITUTION, WE BELIEVE THAT OUR GOVERNMENT AS PRESCRIBED IS ONE BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE AND OF THE PEOPLE. GEORGE W. BUSH, IS NOT ADHERING NOR LISTENING TO THE VOICE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. GEORGE W. BUSH, HAS VIOLATED THE WAR POWERS ACT, BY STATING HE WILL INITIATE WAR, BYPASSING CONGRESS WHO HAS THE ONLY AUTHORITY TO DO THIS.
GEORGE W. BUSH, IS RESPONSIBLE BY ACTIONS OF SENDING OUR ECONOMY DOWNWARD, SPENDING MONEY ON TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH, WHICH WILL NOT HELP OUR ECONOMY, PUTTING THE UNITED STATES DEEPER IN DEBT.
GEORGE W. BUSH HAS NOT SENT THE MILITARY POWER TO AFGHANISTAN TO LOCATE OSAMA BIN LADEN AND THE ELQUAIDA WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR 9-11 TRAGEDY AND ATTACK ON OUR COUNTRY. INSTEAD ALL THE POWERS ARE BEING SENT FOR WAR WITH IRAQ WHO IS NOT IMPOSING AN IMMENANT RISK. GEORGE W. BUSH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CITIZENS NOT ONLY IN THE UNITED STATES BUT OTHER COUNTRIES AS WELL TO PROTEST HIS ACTIONS IN THE IRAQ MATTER. IT IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES TO RETAIN GEORGE W. BUSH AS OUR PRESIDENT, FOR CREATING MORE HATRED FOR AMERICANS AROUND THE WORLD AND NOT LISTENING TO HIS OWN AMERICAN PEOPLE.
Throughout history people with common sense have suffered as a consequence of the actions of stupid people. It has also been known that stupid people have suffered due to their own stupid actions.
People who decide to play football while attempting to ski; people who like to fall asleep while they are cooking; people who don't know how to punch a proper voting ballot; people who leave their engine running while they are trying to fill the gas tank - all these people have caused unnecessary suffering and distress in one way or another.
If stupidity is eradicated then so will unnecessary stress and suffering. The economy will boom.
It is necessary to eradicate stupidity. By doing so, some of the world population will inevitably be destroyed - but that can only be a good thing - as it will keep the planet from over-populating.
Please support this nobel cause. Think of your children's future. Your future.
69. Battle.net global Roolback
As of Friday afternoon EST there was a metheod released to the general public, on duping items based on closed realm characters. Since this point and time the diablo economy has been crippled and honest player moral has been crushed. Many members have given up diablo all together. And many more refuse to purchase anymore games from Blizzard, as they have so far shown no real acknoledgement of it exsistance, nor have they shown a willingness or a plan of action, which we as dedicated players demand on there part. We want them to act responsibly and fix this problem and to return the game back to a playable state.
We the undersigned want the Bush Administration from the United States of America to get back in line with other countries who care about our planet and who are trying to clean up pollution. We humans make them and only we can heal them. No matter what it does to the economy. If we have no planet we have no economy anway ........
If The Planet Is Healty so Is The Economy !!!
