For years now My husband has been fighting to see his son. His name was not put on the birth certificate as the father but yet he is still responsible to pay child support, and yet he is not allowed to see him. He has a court order to see him but the mother doesn't allow it. Yet she still wants the money.
The child does not know my husband is his father, he does not call him dad, nor does he want to come here. He calls another man dad. I believe that in a case like this why should we have to pay for a child we have nothing to do with?
My grandfather died this year of starvation and respiratory distress because of an overload of narcotics. My grandfather had Parkinson's disease. That is a chronic illness but it does not kill a person. He had this disease for 10 years. Complications from Parkinson's kills a person such as pneumonia.
The death certificate stated he died of Parkinson's disease when in fact in order to diagnosis this, one must have an autopsy. He did not get an autopsy and was mobile/alert and oriented but confused at times. They starved him to death and gave him morphine/oxycodone in massive amounts when he would get pain relief from two extra strength tylenols.

4. Changing District 1 To Pulteney Fire District 
As you may or may not be aware District 1 falls under Branchport Fire District. This means that Pulteney Fire Department and Pulteney Ambulance Department are not supposed to respond in your district.
At this time Puletney is still called to fire calls and Branchport does not have an ambulance so they are also called out.
It would be a benefit to the safety and well being of residents of District 1 to become part of Pulteney fire district.
The response time is a big benefit not to mention athat an ambulance does not come from another township.
The purpose of this petition is to convince my landlord to allow me to get a dog. A bit of background... I never signed a lease that said I could not have animals. I have a good relationship with my landlord, and enjoy living at my current location. If I get a dog, my landlord said I would need to move out.
My landlord has a dog of his own, and he let another tenant bring home a stray dog with the intent to keep it (though the real owner was later found). He also let a tenant keep a cat (which ran freely throughout the entire residence) even though he was severely allegic to the animal.
My landlord's argument is that he does not want me to have a dog that sheds. I have happily agreed to find a dog that fits any of his criteria, yet he still refuses to let me get one--yet. He said he will consider it in the future, but will not give me a date.
A year and a half ago, my dog passed away (before I lived at this location). I have been deeply effected ever since her death. I have waited until I was ready for another dog before I began pursuing the possibility of getting another dog.
Included in this petition is a picture of a NAID dog which does not shed, cause allergies, and is very friendly. I am hoping to be able to get a puppy from this dog.
Please help me in my quest to get a dog.
6. Simon Shaw's Sentence DOES NOT fit the crime
After being found guilty of arson and recklessly endangering lives and causing £4,500 damage, the boy was given a year long supervision order, with six months concurrent intensive supervision, and was ordered to pay my sister a pathetic £200.
Darlington Member Of Parliament, Alan Milburn has pledged to look into the sentence, saying the family has endured enough. "Misuse of fireworks makes lives a misery and it is up to the authorities to show this behaviour will not be tolerated," he said.
"This family has clearly been through an ordeal. They need to know the courts are on their side."

For a long time now, we have had John Howard as Australia's Prime Minister. During this time, we have been involved in a war the country did not agree with, we have had the GST (good and services tax) come in, and the list of levys and extra taxes are rising with each day we have John Howard in power.
Mr Howard does not listen to the people, and anyone who wastes taxpayers money and does not make decisions according to what the people want for their country should not be running it.

9. Removal Of Bus Driver "Arletha Appea"
For the last month Arletha Appea, has been the bus driver for the 79X (5:20pm bus Jefferson Rd. & Smith Rd.) Leaving from Parsippany arriving to Newark.
Arletha is reckless with her driving and we the passengers are requesting that NJ Transit please remove Arletha Appea from this route.
Arletha drives the bus as if it was her own personal sports car. She drives on the rear bumper of the car in front of her. At times forcing them to move out of her way. Arletha likes to drive in the far left lane of Route 280. She has a habit of braking shortly and therefore thrusting the passengers forward and back in their seats. When attempting to make a turn or drive around curves, she does not slow down resulting in the bus seeming like it will overturn.
With all this said the safety of the passengers are at risk and Arletha acts as if she does not value her life or the life of these passengers. We are requesting that she be removed from this bus line immediately.
We the Passengers of the 79X leaving Parsippany to Newark are requesting her removal.

11. Ban Public Smoking in the USA
This petition has been created in order to urge Congress to make and pass a bill that will ban public smoking. A person who does not wish to be exposed to second-hand smoke should not be forced to if he/she does not want to. This is a job that has been started, but not completed. It is not right when someone interferes with a person's right to NOT smoke. If you agree, I urge you to sign this petition.
12. Smoking for inmates in Jails
Hi everyone. How's everyone doing? Anyone sitting there having a cigarette rite now? Well, I am, as its my right to do so. I am writing to you today to talk about a law that I am trying to get passed in Maine. Maine is the ONLY State that does not allow their prisoners to smoke while incarcerated, and I feel this is unfair. These (some innocent) prisoners have been taken into the state's custody and expected to just be able to STOP SMOKING, COLD TURKEY. And they wonder why there's violence in the jails.
Quitting smoking suddenly and not with any quit smoking aids, can take its toll on a person, tempers become short, the craving becomes high. I know I have tried to quit smoking and it is very difficult, especially if your FORCED into it. I feel the inmates should be allowed to go out side at rec and have a cigarette or two while out there. If they institution does not want the inmates to have control of the pack of cigarettes, they then (the guards) can hand them out as they go out to rec. The inmates are only allowed to go to rec once a day, so its not like they would be going out all the time for a cigarette, just during the break. The guards all go outside on the property when its not allowed, so why can't the inmates take their rec time to do so? If we can get enough signatures together then we can get this law passed. As I said, MAINE is the only state that does not allow the inmates to smoke. How would you feel if it was you??? As it could be someday. Not ALL the inmates are guilty as charged, some ARE innocent. Lets all get together to help these people make the best of their situation.

13. Promote Human Rights of Expatriates in Oman
The Omani government does not recognize the human rights of the foreign aliens in this country.
Children of Omani fathers automatically acquire Omani citizenship at birth and must enter and leave the country on Omani passports. Omani authorities usually confiscate the U.S. passports of U.S./Omani dual nationals. This does not constitute loss of citizenship by U.S. standards, but should be reported to the U.S. Embassy in Muscat. Child custody decisions are based on Islamic law. It is difficult for an American woman, even a Muslim, to obtain custody of her children through the Omani courts.
The Sultan and the Govt. of Oman should take this issue seriously as more and more omanis get educated - the donkey's days law will have to go away.
The People who are born and lived in Oman for over 100 years have not been given their citizenship or naturelization due to the law of the country.

16. Take a Stand Against Dances Being Shut Down by PRMS
Students are handed rights by the Public School System of Collier County as well as the US Constitution to be able to voice our opinions, to petition, to stand up for what we feel or believe. A great deal of people were unsatisfied by the events occuring Friday, April 19, 2001. The "Spring Dance" which was once looked at as a relief for students to socialize and enjoy an evening together, was simply crushed.
We need to show our school's administration -- the faculty of PRMS that we, the students, are displeased. As well, we have to ensure that the 8th grader's final social event, the "8th grade dance," does not result into such a calamity as this one did. This petition shows that we want to make a stand.
