The words "under God" were added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954 to show
the world the stark contrast between the United States of America and the
Communist regime. The words were added because the United States is truly
a nation under God. Our country was built on the principles and foundations
of the Judeo-Christian faith. The men who created our government were men
of strong faith. In establishing this country, they understood the inherent
rights that God, their Creator, gave to all men. The Declaration of
Independence states that certain truths are self-evident. These truths are
"that all men were created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable rights . . . ." The Declaration states very boldly
that the United States of America were appealing to the "Supreme Judge" and
that they had a "firm reliance on Divine Providence."

Why is it that a majority of Americans can grasp this concept but that men
educated in the law of this country, the very law stemming from these
principles, cannot? Throughout our history, this country has turned to
Almighty God, our Creator, for guidance and comfort in times of struggle.
In 1775, the Continental Congress called on the Colonies to pray for wisdom in
forming this great nation. At the close of the War for Independence, George
Washington directed his chaplain to offer a prayer of thanksgiving. In 1863
President Lincoln declared a day of humiliation, fasting and prayer. When
Pearl Harbor was attacked the President called on the country to pray.
During the years following World War II when this country was fighting the
Cold War, "In God we Trust" was adopted as our national motto. When Apollo
13 was disabled in space the President called on the country to pray. In
1988 President Reagan signed a bill declaring a National Day of Prayer. In
Desert Storm every soldier received a copy of the 91st Psalm. President Clinton called on this country to pray when the tragedy at Columbine Highschool occurred. And on September 11, 2001, this country experienced a tragedy that was unlike anything we had seen since Pearl Harbor and it was to God that this country turned. President Bush called on people across this nation to pray, a memorial service was televised across the country including many prayers, and many members of Congress, Republicans and Democrats alike, gathered on the steps of the capitol building to sing, "God Bless America."

But on June 26, 2002, a majority of two judges decided that we are no longer
"one Nation under God." This court action is an outrage. It flies in
the face of our national history and traditions.

Petition started September 2001 by a person who has a disabling condition, worked all her life, and was improperly denied long-term disability from her insurance company (AND employer), despite medical evidence to the contrary.

The reason for the denial? Because they "CAN". Claimants cannot sue, except in Federal Court after a long process overseen by the insurance company, and then only for the exact amt of the LTD. Insurance companies KNOW about the ERISA loophole and use it to their advantage. MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS, as their LTD benefits are covered under ERISA.

Diabetes is a chronic, fatal disease. Many diabetics must take insulin. Many seem to do fine on Humulin, Novolin Human, Humalog, NovoRapid (Novolog), Lantus and other synthetic insulin types, however, many diabetics need beef insulin, beef-pork insulin or pork insulin (Iletin 1 & 2 insulins). The US FDA and Eli Lilly have elected to make it very difficult for some US, Canadian and all diabetics to be able to obtain insulins which work best for them.

This is an international problem and you don't even have to be a US citizen to help us to help diabetics around the world. Diabetics should not be forced to inject themselves with the waste-products of genetically engineered e. coli bacteria or yeasts. They should be entitled to freedom of choice in insulin that they must inject to live. This petition seeks to get the US Congress to make beef insulin legal in the US. Beef insulin has been the insulin of choice for 80 years and is proven. None of the synthetics have worked so well in managing diabetes.

If you know a diabetic, odds are about 1 in 10 that s/he will eventually need beef insulin to control his/her diabetes (there is absolutely NO BSE mad-cow] risk in any beef insulin according to the most recent research we've read). The FDA reports 8 deaths per month from the synthetics at a 1-10% reporting level.

Ninety percent of the foregoing irradiation report was written by Frontier, premier supplier of bulk herbs and spices untouched by government hands. From the facts of the foregoing: the little bottles and cans of $3 or $4 per ounce spices and herbs flying under one name or another in your supermart are serious poisons. And every commercially manufactured food item, no exceptions, is highly suspect for irradiation. There is no way for you to determine the truth. You are rendered totally helpless by our friendly government FDA and Congress in support of the food manufacturing industry.

When I discovered this topic in May 1995 when I read the interview published in the newsletter Nutrition and Healing that follows this report, I stopped eating restaurant food and stopped buying any processed foods off the shelf or in refrigerators in the store. I didn't stop buying irradiated spices until 1998 because I wasn't aware that the supermarket spices are all radioactive until I ran into a display of non-irradiated spices and began asking questions. Wow!

These poisons are approved and sponsored by the United States federal
government. The agency responsible for this official approval to offer you
atomic energy poison, radioactive minerals, is the Food and Drug
Administration. This agency, FDA, is specifically chartered to protect you
and me from exactly such poisons. This is not an error, or innocent ignorance.

Now you know that you are on your own in these matters. Nobody is coming to
help you.

The historic Clean Water Act has been in place nearly 30 years and yet 40% of the nation's waterways are too polluted for Americans to use for swimming or fishing.

A report from Environmental Working Group showed that 42% of state inspections at facilities that had already been found to be in breach of the Clean Water Act in the past were "Drive By" where inspectors were not required to leave get out of their car… and 280 facilities run by known polluters were not inspected at all!

In some cases the fines for breaching the Act are so small that it is cheaper for polluters to pay the fine and keep polluting than to take action to stop the pollution.

The Clean Water Act is in place to improve the waterways of America. If it is not enforced properly water quality will not improve.
