1. Demand change at the Parramatta Eels
The Parramatta Board and coach need to go. Enough is enough.
The board has been making bad decisions for years now, and is tearing apart our club.
Unfortunately, the much adored weekly boxing news television show "In This Corner with Russ Anber", hosted by the ever-popular veteran boxing coach and analyst, Russ Anber, has been removed from the sports programming of TSN for over a year now.
With the popularity and success of boxing in Canada at an all-time high (Canada presently boasts 3 World Champions) we ask you to please help us bring back "In This Corner with Russ Anber" to TSN's television lineup.

3. John Hollingsworth Field at RMHS
John Hollingsworth served the citizens and youth of Reading for 27 years as school teacher, coach, athletic director, and mentor with humility, compassion, humor and honesty. He is the longest tenured football coach in RMHS history.
Over a span of twenty years, he coached five Middlesex League champions, won 100 games, and has been elected to both the Massachusetts Football Coach and RMHS Athletics Halls of Fame. Coach Hollingsworth is arguably the most successful football coach in RMHS history, and his on-field record is unassailable. However, for the community in which he lived and raised his family, his impact stretches far beyond the field, into the classroom, and through the fabric of Reading life.
There is no greater example of leadership and devotion to Reading's youth, as he inspired generations of Reading students to live principled lives and strive for excellence through discipline, hard work and unwavering commitment. More than 25 years after his retirement, scores of Reading families fondly remember this man, his words, his demeanor, and his general approach to life. It is because of these of these attributes that his impact shines to this day.
As a means of honoring its most influential educators, the Reading Public Schools established a process for naming various educational facilities after deserving individuals. Suggestions for naming the football field for Coach Hollingsworth have been floated about since the 1980s, but there was no defined means to make this happen. By following the newly created process, a group of ardent supporters nominated Coach Hollingsworth in 2010. His name was the only finalist chosen by a special Naming Sub-Committee to be forwarded to the School Committee for consideration. In February, 2011, contrary to strong public support and the Naming Sub-Committee’s recommendation, the Reading School Committee rejected John Hollingsworth as worthy of this honor by a 5-1 vote.
The explanations given to date for this decision seem to be at odds with the clear intent of the facility naming process. No other names have been placed in nomination and no objections have been voiced by the school committee members regarding Coach Hollingsworth's character, contributions or record of achievement.
We feel the School Committee's decision is arbitrary and without merit. We therefore ask that the School Committee immediately reopen the nomination of John Hollingsworth for public discourse, re-examine the merits of his nomination and, accordingly, name the football field at Reading Memorial High School “John Hollingsworth Field”. Doing so will not only honor the man, but also the Town of Reading and all of its citizens, past and present.
This is a petition is keep Coach Lafevers as our Coleman Baseball/Basketball Coach. We as his players would like to keep our coach!
5. Keep Karaoke at Coach's Corner
Karaoke has been a part of Coach's Corner for over 20 years. Every Saturday night, the one thing you can rely on, is the knowledge that a friendly face will be a t Coach's to greet you.
Whether you are from PG, Burns Lake, BC, AB, Italy or any other great place is this land, if you've been to karaoke once at Coach's, chances are great that you will return. It's a staple, like bread to butter.
No matter the month or the year, one thing that is our constant is karaoke Saturdays at Coach's. Don't fix what isn't broken.
6. Re-naming of Perry High's Baseball Field
The Perry Bullpen is seeking support in attempting to re-name our High School Baseball Field in the name of Head Coach Frank Gamble. Coach Gamble has coached in Ohio for 37 years and 20 years at Perry. He is in the Top 10 in the state in total wins as a coach (537), belongs to 4 Ohio High School baseball Halls of Fame, has a .614 winning percentage while at Perry, has the Top 12 most winning seasons in Perry History and 15 of the top 20 seasons.
Additionally Coach Gamble has led the charge in raising of $500,000 in financial support for our baseball program. This includes (New lights, New dugouts, Fencing, Batting Cages, Score Board, Grass Seed, Replacement dirt, Brick Dust, New Concession Stand and much more) We would like to petition the Perry School Board for approval in renaming our field in Coach Gambles honor.
FREE KAMBIZ BARZINI - Free Him From Broward Transitional Center, Stop His Deportation Order, and Grant Him Asylum
Kambiz Barzini came from a land so different than what we know in the United States where corruption and destruction is apparent in everyday life, and where right and wrong does not align with the ideals we have in this country. Can you imagine having to find your own set of right and wrong, when the land that you live in has different priorities?
Despite the corruption, he was raised with solid ideals that align with those in our country today - freedom, family, education, and justice. Living in a hell on earth, as some people describe the Iranian Revolution, the Barzini family was able to escape. For several years, his family lived as refugees in Germany. He was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to come to the United States, to leave behind the lifestyle that we can not even begin to imagine - knowing that the United States is a land where all are given the opportunity to pursue the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Where else, but a better place, than the United States of America? He is an intelligent human being who speaks fluently, reads, and writes four languages. In the states, he was given the opportunity to continue his education, compete in wrestling at the collegiate level, and earn his bachelors degree. But this opportunity was taken away from him. For years, Kami abided by what he was told - having hopes to one day become a citizen. If not citizenship, his hope would be that he would be at least granted asylum in our country, knowing if he is forced to return to the country he escaped from, his punishment will be imprisonment, torture, and ultimately death.
Because of where Kami came from, how he was raised by his parents with the notion of right and wrong, and the challenges that his family endured, he has still learned to appreciate life. His appreciation for life extends not only to his life or the lives of his loved ones, but to all the people whose lives he has come in contact with. He has a genuine compassion and care for other people. He is dedicated to serving others and demands nothing in return. His ability to connect with people, to listen with his whole heart, and to offer wisdom when he can is why I admire Kami Barzini. He teaches others what it means to appreciate our eyelids - the things that are right in front of us that we do not even realize and often take for granted. His hope and trust in humanity remains even though he has been to hell and back. He believes that human beings are ultimately good and we are placed on this earth to help one another, because one day there will be a time when we need help ourselves.
He is now trapped, being held at Broward Transitional Center, fearing for his life and the decisions that may be made. We will not tolerate the deportation of our dear friend and loved one. He is an asset to the United States, not only as a talented athlete, coach, and trainer, but as a compassionate person and someone who stands up for others, and speaks the truth when determining right and wrong. The injustices and broken laws that exist in regards to the immigration system are keeping this young man from pursuing his dreams - from achieving a college education, from giving back to others as others have given to him, and from freely loving others as he as been loved.
8. PHS Varsity Soccer Players for Democratically Choosing Their Own Student-Leaders
In the past, undue influence and duress has been exerted upon the Coach(es) of PHS Soccer in naming certain players as "Captains" to the PHS Soccer Team at the deprivation of more worthy student-athletes and to the detriment of the team.
This environment whereby cronyism and political patronage is promoted and where an autocratic method of naming "Captains" has, in the past, led to the collapse of team morale and reflects poorly not only upon the soccer coaches and team but rather, by a proxy representation, reflects poorly upon the athletic department and the school.
To remedy this problem and for the assistance to, insulation of, and benefit of the coaching staff; for the morale of the team; for the prestigious reputation of our beloved school the players, the team, the athletic department and the school:
We honor our American heritage and ideals of democracy by petitioning the following:
Our wonderful track coach and teacher has been fired. This has upset many students. It is up to us to get her back.
10. Keep Coach Darren Stevens @ Kingsbury Middle
I AM STARTING THIS PETITION TO TRY AND CONVINCE THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND SUPERINTENDENT KRINER CASH TO KEEP COACH DARREN STEVENS ON STAFF AT KINGSBURY MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR AND BEYOND.
COACH STEVENS IS A GREAT TEACHER, COACH AND MENTOR TO OUR YOUTH, THERE SHOULD BE OTHER WAYS TO CUT THE BUDGET THAN LAYING OFF GOOD PEOPLE. COACH DARREN IS ALWAYS THERE FOR THE KIDS AS A COACH, TEACHER AND MENTOR. HE TRULY CARES!!
11. Support for STTA Team and Decision on Coach of the Year nomination
There is quiet minority that support the STTA in its decision on Coach of the Year 2009 nominations. This is an opportunity for that minority to be heard.
12. Keep Mrs. Linda Dysart Teaching
On May 11, 2009 Mrs. Linda Dysart's class was informed that she would not be returning as she was being let go. Holding back tears she explained to the class how all of her classes had been redistributed to other teachers or completely taken off the available classes. Classes like drama, speech, and psychology were all given to other teachers to instruct. Classes like creative writing were gotten rid of.
She also coached both flags and show choir; she herself has not been informed of what is to come of those and is not even sure if she will be allowed to continue coaching them. Linda Dysart is an exceptional teacher and lady. If she is let go so many people will be let down. All the students taking, or planning to take, her prior mentioned classes will not be able to experience what an amazing teacher she is. If let go students in drama, psychology, speech, flags, and show choir will all be let down as they will not have the teaching of Mrs. Linda Dysart behind them.
She is an exceptional role model for Delta High School students and is one of the best we've seen in communicating, sympathizing, and directing students.
13. Transport from Birmingham to Cardiff at 11:30pm on 17th November 2009
We would like to arrange some sort of transport from Birmingham to Cardiff for the people attending the Jonas Brothers concert on 17th November 2009.
Many people from Cardiff wish to attend this concert but are unable to find any available transport to return home to Cardiff. The people attending can easily get to Birmingham via a train but the last train leaves Birmingham at 10:12pm, the concert will not finish until 11pm and the Cardiff citizens are unable to get home.
We have looked at the prospect of staying overnight in a hotel or getting a taxi but the prices of this are extremely unafforadable. We do not wish to miss this concert as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these people to see their heroes perform live on stage. All we are asking is for a small type of transport to make the short return journey to Cardiff the same night at an affordable price.
We would really appreciate you considering organising a small trip. We would be extremely grateful and thankful to whom ever would be kind enough to organise this for the fans.
Sincere thanks.
14. Save Serns
Justin Serns is well known around the school campus for being one of the most fun and dedicated Physical Education teachers around. But what some people don't know is that he is the 8th Grade Science and 8th Grade Math teacher and the Jr. High Basketball coach.
As you all probably know, these economic times are harsh. The school needs around 45 new kids to keep all of the staff. Since that is not a realistic goal with the senior class graduating taking several kids with it the school has decided to cut Justin Serns.
Justin Serns is one of the youngest teachers at the school, and a favorite teacher to the students he teaches. The kids he teaches can really relate to him. The school needs some new, young teachers, and that is what he is.
Coach Shumway has always tried his best to do what is right for Juab High School. He trys to get his players enough time in the gym anytime he can.
Coach Shumway has helped Juab Basketball more than anyone I know.
Coach Arminio was dismissed as head coach of Perry Hall's Varsity Football Team.
No explanation was given for this decision by the Baltimore County Department of Education nor was due process followed.
This has had a negative affect on his players, family, and community.
17. Re-Hire of Coach Janet S. Eleazar
Coach Janet Eleazar of Eastlake was wrongfully terminated as the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. The community of Eastlake is behind and supportive.
She has won 12 league titles, Div. I CIF title and was named Coach of the Year for 2006. She works with the community and schools by providing a safe haven for kids to learn the fundamentals of basketball through her feeder club.
She has put countless hours into the sport, the program, the community and her school.
18. Merciless team members speak up!!!
One of the captains of team Merciless, j-rod (jerad arias) has a history of being an elitist, displaying hard-nosed tactics to achieve his desires, constantly issuing double standards, and being totally unqualified for the position he occupies on team merciless (co-captain and 'coach').
These personality traits have been evident to numerous members of the paintball community since 2003, most recently to members of team Merciless (undersigned). We, as members of team Merciless, care about the direction of the team and we feel that if j-rod is allowed to run practice and carry on as co-captain and 'coach', the team will be going in the wrong direction, not to mention destroy team morale.
19. Attn WVU: We Want Rich Rod
WVU Needs to Step Up. This is a 24 hour petition drive, starting 8:30am on 12/6/6.
20. Cristal Brown as Varsity Coach
June 7, 2006
We, members of the Valencia High School Softball Program, have designed this petition to ask whoever it may concern to place Cristal Brown as head coach of the Valencia High School Varsity Team.
Coach Brown has demonstrated her knowledge and understanding of the game with every practice and game. Her desire for Valencia Softball's well being is also a reason why we consider her to be an essential coach. Not only is she a great coach, but Coach Brown is an exceptional person. She is a great role model and is someone who we can always count on.
Coach Brown takes softball as seriously (if not more serious) as the rest of the Varsity girls but also shows us that softball can be fun. We ask you to consider replacing the Valencia High School veteran, Donna Lee, with a fresh, new face who will undoubtedly allow us to thrive as a team.
We assure you that you will not regret this decision and we thank you for your time and consideration.
21. Keep Justin Bozeman as wrestling coach for all divisions
May 03, 2006
Coach Bozeman was informed that he will no longer be the wrestling caoch for high school.
Coach Bozeman not only took McCreary Central to State tournament (in which several of the wrestlers placed), he also help make Elementary wrestlers
State Champions.
22. Petition to keep Coach Molten for Varisity Girls Basketball
This petition is to keep Coach Dan Molten, as Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. I believe he should stay as the coach.
23. Mr. Masson As Senior Girls Volleyball Coach
The reason for this petition is to appoint Mr. Ray Masson as the senior girls volleyball coach for College Heights Secondary School during the 2005-06 season.
This being the case, Mr. C Horswell, coach of the team for the 2004 season, would have to step down from his position.
24. Vogt Out Vogts - Save our Scottish Team
Actually the History of this should have started a few years ago. Bertie Vogts should have been Expelled from the position of Scottish Coach for the National Football team years ago.
Recently Mr Vogts and the Scotland team have been getting a lot of bad press recently, for obvious reasons, if your a Scotland Supporter. A Sunday league team in a First Division Playoff. I put it to you the Scottish Supporter that we get a Scotsman at the Helm of our sinking ship that is the National Team. At least that way we'll maintain a Pride which has been missing for the duration of the Vogts Administration.
The Moldovan fiasco was the final straw for me personally, how UNANIMATED could a coach be, there was no love or pride in that man, how then can that same pride be felt in the team. We have spirit and determination but we have no pride, not the old pride that Scotland is so famous for.
GO ON, BRING IT BACK TO SCOTLAND
25. REINSTATE SCOTT FONFARA AS OUR CHICAGO MAGIC SOCCER COACH A.S.A.P.
ON MAY 8,2004 WE WERE INFORMED THAT OUR SOCCER COACH SCOTT FONFARA HAD BEEN SUSPENDED FROM COACHING. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THIS SUSPENSION IS A RESULTS OF ALLEGED IMPROPRIETIES THAT OCCURRED IN NOVEMBER 2003 WITH REGARDS TO THE U17 MAGIC BOYS, WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GIRLS PROGRAM.
WE ARE RQUESTING THAT OUR COACH BE REINSTATED SO HE MAY CONTINUE TO TRAIN AND DEVELOPE OUR DAUGHTERS.
26. No Coach No Team
Wednesday Feb. 4 Franklin Knights basket ball coach got fired. All Franklin students would like to have him back in our Franklin family. If you sign this we will get one step closer.
FELLOW LOYAL BEARS FANS:
IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 18 YEARS SINCE THE BEARS DOMINATED SUPERBOWL XX.
THE FOUNDATION BEGINS WITH THE HEAD COACH.
POSTSEASON APPEARANCES: DITKA (12) JAURON (01)
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD AND TELL THE MCCASKEYS ALONG WITH BEARS PRESIDENT AND CEO TED PHILLIPS AND BEARS GENERAL MANAGER JERRY ANGELO THAT WE DEMAND A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM! IT ALL BEGINS WITH THE COACH.
IT WAS THE YEAR OF:
* THE SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE.
* THE PUNKY QB KNOWN AS
MCMAHON
* WALTER "SWEETNESS" PAYTON
* WILLIAM "THE REFRIGERATOR"
PERRY AND THE REFRIGERETTES
* "SAMURAI" MIKE SINGLETARY
* BUDDY RYAN'S "46" DEFENSE WHICH INCLUDED: DAN HAMPTON, RICHARD "THE COLONEL" DENT, PERRY, STEVE "MONGO" MCMICHAEL, MIKE SINGLETARY, OTIS WILSON, WILBUR MARSHALL, DAVE DUERSON AND GARY FENCIK.
* REMEMBER WHEN THE ART INSTITUTE'S LIONS WORE THE
BEARS HELMETS?
* THE PICASSO SCULPTURE WEARING A BEARS HEADBAND?
* HOW ABOUT THE CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
PLAYING "BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS"?
BEFORE JORDAN RULED THIS CITY, IT WAS DA BEARS!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON?T REMEMBER, WE HAD A SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (SNL) SKIT BASED ON WHICH COACH DITKA BABY!
"I SAW QUARTERBACKS CRYING. I SAW RUNNING BACKS TREMBLING. I SAW LINEMEN WHO WANTED TO LEAVE. I COULD SEE IT IN THEIR EYES. WE HAD HIRED ASSASSINS ON THAT TEAM. I MEAN THEY COULD TAKE YOU OUT." MIKE SINGLETARY
"THEY WERE CHARACTERS ON THAT TEAM, BUT THEY HAD CHARACTER." - DITKA.
WHY THE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE?
SIMPLY PUT - THEY WERE CHAMPIONS!!!!
STEVE MCMICHAEL PUT IT BEST: "PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT TEAM, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? IF WE HAD LOST, NOBODY WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED. WE BACKED IT UP. WE DON'T HAVE TO CLAIM FAME, BROTHER. WE ACHIEVED IT."
TALENTED FIRST ROUND PICKS INCLUDED: HAMPTON, AL HARRIS, OTIS WILSON, KEITH VAN HORNE, MCMAHON, JIMBO COVERT, WILLIE GAULT, AND WILBER MARSHALL.
WHAT GOT THEM TO BE CHAMPIONS WAS "ATTITUDE AND LOTS OF IT!"
AFTER BEING HIRED AS COACH, DITKA'S FIRST STATEMENT INCLUDED THAT HE WAS GOING TO TAKE THIS TEAM TO THE SUPER BOWL. NOT EVERYONE WOULD BE THERE, AND THOSE THAT DIDN'T WANT TO GET THERE SHOULD JUST LEAVE.
WHAT KIND OF PERSON MAKES STATEMENTS LIKE THESE?
HE IS ONE OF ONLY TWO MEN TO HAVE WON A SUPER BOWL AS A PLAYER, ASSISTANT COACH, AND HEAD COACH.
AS FOR THE CURRENT COACH JAURON, THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON HIM. SIMPLY PUT, HE IS TOO MUCH OF A NICE GUY AND HIS OUTPUT IS UNACCEPTABLE! SIMPLY PUT - IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON!
IT DOES GET PERSONAL FOR EACH BEARS FAN THAT SPENDS HIS OR HER HARD-EARNED MONEY ON BEARS TICKETS OR MEMORABILIA FOR A NON-CONTENDER TEAM . WHAT ABOUT THE HUMILIATION WHEN OFFICE POOLS ROUTINELY PICK THE BEARS TO LOSE. THINGS MUST CHANGE!
AS THE VENERABLE DAN HAMPTON PUT IT: "WE MIGHT AS WELL TAKE A DAMN KNEE."
SO WHAT KIND OF COACH DO WE NEED?
SOMEONE LIKE IRON MIKE DITKA!!
MIKE LED BY HIS CODE WORD ACE: ATTITUDE, CHARACTER AND ENTHUSIASM.
NOTABLE QUOTES INCLUDED:
* "SUCCESS ISN'T MEASURED BY MONEY OR POWER OR
SOCIAL RANK. SUCCESS IS MEASURED BY YOUR DISCIPLINE
AND INNER PEACE."
* "ATTACK ALWAYS."
* "IF YOU'RE NOT IN THE PARADE, YOU WATCH THE PARADE.
THAT'S LIFE."
* "THE ONES WHO WANT TO ACHIEVE AND WIN
CHAMPIONSHIPS MOTIVATE THEMSELVES."
SO WOULD DITKA EVER RETURN TO THE BEARS (ASSUMING OF COURSE THAT MCCASKEY SWALLOWS HIS SELFISH PRIDE IN EXCHANGE FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM)?
IN A RECENT INTERVIEW, DITKA WAS QUOTED AS SAYING: "IF THE RIGHT OFFER HAPPENED, I WOULD TALK TO THEM. I DON'T GUARANTEE I WOULD DO IT, BUT I'D TALK TO THEM ABOUT WHAT I STOOD FOR AND WHAT I BELIEVED IN."
THE INTERVIEW ALSO INCLUDES HIS COMMENTS ON THE INFAMOUS TOSSING OF A WAD OF CHEWED GUM AT A GROUP OF HECKLERS. HIS QUOTE INCLUDES: "I'VE TAKEN CLASSES IN BEING ABLE TO THROW GUM STRAIGHTER AND HARDER, BECAUSE I WISH I WOULD HAVE HIT THE LADY OR THE MAN, WHOEVER IT WAS, RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES. AND I HOPE IT STUCK THERE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. AND THEN THEY'D KNOW, DON'T MESS AROUND WITH IRON MIKE."
A CLASSIC QUOTE BY THE CLASSIC FIT FOR OUR CITY!!
28. Alamosa Girls Basketball Program
We the parents and students of the Alamosa Girls Basketball Program are asking support for the resignation of Coach David Mejia.
29. Mrs. Boone Should Not Be Essex High School Girls Basketball Varsity Coach
The reason behind this petition is that some people feel that Mrs. Boone didn't go about the right way in selecting the players for the Varsity team. Two seniors who have played since 8th grade were cut from the team, one was given a bad explanation and the other person wasn't given one at all. She told a parent of a child who was cut that her child was not good enough as some other players to be on the team and that if she was on the team she would sit on the bench. What kind of thing is that to say to someone?
We feel that seniors should have some advantage when being picked for a team compared to 9th and 10th graders, who have the rest of high school to play varsity. Why should they come in and take senior spots when we can only play varsity not junior varsity and that this is our last year ever to play high school basketball again.
We the parents of Colmesneil Football team are asking for your help. By signing this petition, you are asking Coach Kevin Lane to step down as Head Coach.
