Teach students how to drive a manual transmission in Drivers Ed classes.
This Petition is requesting that all states Driver's education Programs teach students how to drive a manual transmission. It would benefit The schools, the students, the parents in: students will be more alert while diving having to shift gears, more economical and less costly. Students will then have a choice and a variety on what they will be able to drive.
32. Get the french classes back at Bear River
Many students feel they have a right to choose a language to take when they go to high school, but here at Bear River we have no other choice but Spanish. Though many students signed up for the French 1 class the administration did not want to offer it.
I am a Spanish 1 student now and was one of the many who did sign up for the class. I, and many of my friends were outraged to hear they cancelled the class. We do not have an interest in Spanish. I, as with many others, feel they cannot learn what they are not interested in in the first place. Back to the point, we all should have a choice in foreign language so we can broaden our horizens. thank you very much.
Strippers have very difficult, hard lives. They feel degraded by their work. But they have no choice, and little or no education. Their only choice is to do this. But do the managers and stip clubs take care of them? Not at all. Do they have a contract? Few do. They receive unwanted sexual attention and are forced to put up with sick-minded men touching them, although they must keep at a distance. They need rights. They need people to help them find better jobs. They are not animals, they are people too. People who had mostly terrible, abusive families that did not care about them. They get little money, and often have children at home that need to eat. They have little rights recognized or enforced by the law. Please help these achieve the American dream, go to college. Because this is not what they really want.
34. Choice of Math Courses at Alberta Learning
Students are required to take a 30 level Math course to recieve a diploma. However, the requirement for Science courses is only 15 credits. After completing a 10 level Science course, students may choose to focus their education on physics, chemistry, or biology. This should be the same for Math. The curriculum contains so many formulas and calculations that the only reason someone would be required to know ALL of this is if they became a math teacher. Math courses should be seperated into smaller sectors or categories so that a student may enroll in the course that best fits their career plans. For example, a student aspiring to be a writer would not be required to learn the equations needed to become an engineer. Rather, they could take one of these specific category math courses (a basic math course for example that will teach only things to get you by in life) and be able to focus on their english or social social studies courses.
Many people go on to forget or not apply most of these teachings, unless their career choice involves math. Even still, those that require math for their careers only require knowledge of certain portions of the teachings, hardly ever all portions.
35. Abolish Ellwood City Electric Company
We should have a choice when it comes to our electric company ! We the people of Ellwood City, PA cannot afford these bills.
36. Kasi Lemmons to direct "Candyman:Forever"
His congregation is beginning to lose faith. He is the writing on the
wall, the whisper in the classroom. Without these things he is
nothing.......
Kasi Lemmons is the talented breakout director of 1997's critical favorite
"Eve's Bayou" starring Samuel L. Jackson. She later directed him again in the film "The Caveman's Valentine". Kasi Lemmons may resonate more
familiarity as the Candyman's fearful victim in the first of the series'
film as Bernadette.
With her close ties to the series of Candyman and the debut film she
directed in the same vein of the Clive Barker film for which she is most
noteworthy she'd be an excellent choice to further tell the tale of the
great urban legend. Sign the petition to elect Kasi Lemmons as the director
of "Candyman: Forever".
I see this film telling the story from Daniel Robitaille's (Candyman) other
bloodline (i.e. his black family descendants of slaves). Envious of the
forbidden love he was denied, Candyman seeks a new victim within his family
by mirroring the same tragedy he experienced once ago.
37. Abolish required seatbelt law!
I dont know about you, but those seatbelts can get really annoying. I wear my seatbelt as a choice but it should not be my only choice! You should have the choice of not wearing it also.
At first cops could fine you if you were doing something else illegal and they noticed you didnt have your seatbelt on. Now they can pull you over for not having it on alone! Whats next? cameras in your car or some computer that recognizes that you dont have one on and wont let you drive or something stupid like that?
Sign this so we can tell them where they can put their seatbelt law!
Laton High School has had a tradition of glorifing Slavery for many past years. No one has spoken up, untill now. The Junior class has no choice but to participate in an re-acting of slavery. Seniors along with the other remaining classes bid for a ceratin slave ( student) and the highest bidder is proclaimed the "master" for the remainder of the day. Masters are allowed to do basicly as they wish with their slaves, as long as it dosen't violate the school rules. There is no way out, if any student is opposed they must " buy themselves out" and have to pay a certain price. Many slaves; died, hurt, starved, and were looked down as animals. If it was abolished, why do we continue to support it? Why are we saying it is okay? The school must look deeper into the situation than making money, because that is how it all came about. Let's give Laton Students a choice! Lets stop the glorification of Slavery!
39. Make School a Choice in USA
If you don't like school, but you still want an education, then you should sign this petition! It's gonna make it so you can go to school whenever you want. You'll still have summer vacations, and the normal holiday breaks! So please sign!!
40. Women's Bodies, Women's Rights - Allow Us To Make Our Own Decisions
This is a petition aimed toward those women who know for a fact that child bearing is not an option for them for medical reasons, and whose bodies are being subjected to pain because the government and doctors do not want to allow women to make the choice of having their reproductive organs removed.
41. Opposition to Resolution S.R. 02 (S) 4
Members of the TAMU Student Senate have come up with a resolution opposing the candidacy of Dr. Spear for the position of Director of Health Services. The resolution has inaccurate "facts" and is bias against Pro-choice believers. The resolution basically says that some one advocating pro-choice "extremes" should not have an influential position such as Director of Healh Services in the conservative community of Texas A&M.
Many people have spoken out in petitions and e-mails supporting this resolution, but the voices of the people who are opposed to this resolution need to be heard also. Senators say they will vote according to what the majority of their constituents think, so we need to show the Senate that many people are opposed to this resolution and to also take that into consideration when it is time to vote.
42. Restore Beef Insulins to The United States
Diabetes is a chronic, fatal disease. Many diabetics must take insulin. Many seem to do fine on Humulin, Novolin Human, Humalog, NovoRapid (Novolog), Lantus and other synthetic insulin types, however, many diabetics need beef insulin, beef-pork insulin or pork insulin (Iletin 1 & 2 insulins). The US FDA and Eli Lilly have elected to make it very difficult for some US, Canadian and all diabetics to be able to obtain insulins which work best for them.
This is an international problem and you don't even have to be a US citizen to help us to help diabetics around the world. Diabetics should not be forced to inject themselves with the waste-products of genetically engineered e. coli bacteria or yeasts. They should be entitled to freedom of choice in insulin that they must inject to live. This petition seeks to get the US Congress to make beef insulin legal in the US. Beef insulin has been the insulin of choice for 80 years and is proven. None of the synthetics have worked so well in managing diabetes.
If you know a diabetic, odds are about 1 in 10 that s/he will eventually need beef insulin to control his/her diabetes (there is absolutely NO BSE mad-cow] risk in any beef insulin according to the most recent research we've read). The FDA reports 8 deaths per month from the synthetics at a 1-10% reporting level.

43. Halloween H20 Ultimate DVD
Since Halloween H20 received a lackluster DVD release, fans of the film are wanting a DVD that does justice to the film. Anamorphic transfer, commentary, trailers, ect. Also, the original music score by John Ottman should be included, along with a commentary by him. It was a shame that his magnificent score got axed, so here is a chance to do it right.
Since Dimension/Miramax are likely not to release something like this, Anchor Bay is the best choice. They would deliver a great quality product. Please show your support for an Ultimate H20 DVD with original score!
