91. End the biggest holocaust in human history: female infanticide/feticide!
Stop the quiet killing spree in India, China, and other countries that practice female infanticide and feticide.
It’s estimated that more than 45 countries on all continents in the past five years have enabled some form of gendercide. "Female infanticide is the intentional killing of baby girls due to the preference for male babies and from the low value associated with the birth of females." (Marina Porras, "Female Infanticide and Foeticide".) Both India, China, and the world are starting to acknowledge that gender selection is a crisis of epic proportions, one that has already seriously tilted the gender balance to favor boys; however the governmental laws to prohibit the practice in India and China have so far been ineffective.
This epic “disappearance” of girls in the last few decades is an underreported international scandal. Undisputed evidence exists that more than 100 million girls and women have been killed for the “crime” of being female since the 1970s and 1980s, and the problem is growing worse.
Where are the massive protests and outrage at the United Nations and among organizations that identify themselves as defending or representing females? This lack of public awareness and outcry to address the single biggest holocaust in human history is deplorable.
A recent study estimated that as many as 500,000 unborn girls are killed each year in India due to gender selection, and an estimated 10 million unborn girls have been killed over the past 20 years based upon gender preference. India now has the world’s lowest sex ratio because of this widespread gender selection practice. India is perhaps the only civilization that worships God in woman-form, but still doesn’t stop many countrymen from killing their own daughters. Earlier baby daughters are killed by smothering, making them lick poison, or simply by not feeding them in India and China.
The People's Republic of China has already committed an anti-female genocide on this scale--and the killing continues. Meanwhile, most of the world including the United States looks away, pretending not to see this massive destruction of human life.

92. Traitor Prime Minister of India
Indian Prime Minister and a sycophant of Latina Sonia Gandhi [A Nazi member from old Nazi Party still operating from Luciana in the Alps] alongwith all his henchmen has placed governance of India under US control in a secret deal deal and is sending officials to china and other countries including USA for "training" which in effect is meant for espionage purposes.
Details of Sonia Gandhi whose real name is Antonio Maino can be found from the link below:
http://www.sysindia.com/forums/General_Discussion/posts/49247.html
Further Manmohan Singh is actively engaged in supllying enriched Uranium to Iran of which President bush knows too well.
In any other country Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi would have been executed.
93. Stop the barabric killing of dogs in China
Dogs and cats in China, are being treated and killed in a way that no human should tollerate.
We, as human beings are in a powerful position to make a difference, we should exploit our intelligence and stop this barbaric trade now!
94. Stop Illegal Chinese Trade in Black Rhino Horn
Black rhino are classified as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List 2002 and listed on Appendix I of CITES.
Latest findings indicate that there are only around 3600 black rhino remaining worldwide.
However, trade in black rhino horn and its by-products continues in the far east, namely China; even though such trade is prohibited under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species).
This is because some Chinese people believe the horn has medicinal value.
There is absolutely no scientific evidence to indicate that the horn, which is made up of a substance similar to hair, has any medical value.
This means that this proud and majestic species has been poached to near extinction for no legitimate reason. Since 1960, the population has fallen from around 70,000; around 96% over less than 50 years.
While rhino populations have increased recently, much of the remaining species must be kept in some level of captivity, or dehorned to deter poaching.
It is sad that an animal of such grandeur is killed for something so small. It is sadder still that this only occurs through the greed and ignorance of a small global minority.
As an increasingly developed and modern society, I believe that the People Republic of China should take action to stop this illegal, but more so, immoral trade.

March 27th Update
In correspondence with numerous organisations, I have frequently been asked why I have chosen only to petition for the black rhino. There are many reasons for this choice, although I do understand why people ask! All five of the rhino species are affected by the same Chinese and wider eastern Asian trade. The Javan Rhinoceros for example, is currently in a far more dire position with only 100 individuals remaining; the Sumatran with only 400, the Indian with 2000 and the White with around 11000. However, I felt that the Black rhino better highlighted the issue. It is the best known of the five species, and as a mammal originating from Africa, emphasises the relationship between China’s actions and the global community, without the argument of sovereign ownership that applies to the Asian species. Ultimately, all the rhinoceros species are effected by the same trade, and to end one is to end them all!

April 16th Update
For those interested in the subject of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), ‘A world apart’ (WWF, IUCN, TRAFFIC) will be of interest; an in-depth survey of TCM in both Hong Kong and the USA.
When asked “Would you try to understand the content of TCM before using them?” only 33% answered “Yes”.
Of those asked “What would you do if the TCM you use contained ingredients from animals protected by law?” only 30.8% answered “Stop using immediately”.
When asked “If the sale of rhino horns are banned by law, would you continue to use TCM?” 23.1% answered “Yes”, 11.9% answered “Hard to say”.

95. Call Taiwan's different political parties to unite against the Chinese Communist Party
Taiwan's Pan Blues and Pan Greens have been striving with each other for a time that makes Taiwanese people sick.
Taiwanese people should realize that the real threat is neither Blue nor Green, but the Communist regime across the strait.
If the Communists had never stolen the nation of China, the Nationalists would not have applied "White Terror" in Taiwan; thus, the native Taiwanese would not have been oppressed by the 1949 fleets; thus, there would not have been so much conflict between the Blues and the Greens today.
In fact, as Dr. Sun Yat-Sen suggested, Taiwan should be independent, if there had never been riots by the Communists in China, the Nationalists probably would never have occupied Taiwan, and Taiwan now would be Republic of Taiwan.
While the Greens are accusing the Blues of loving China instead of Taiwan, the real threat comes from the Communists. The Blues never set up weapons against Taiwan, the Communists do.
Since the Nationalist Party is Chinese Nationalist Party, the most ideal to finish the whole strife on Taiwan's political stage is to send the Nationalists back to China.
However, as long as the Communists are still in charge of China, the Blues cannot return to China; and Taiwan cannot join the UN as an independent nation.
96. Release Jia Jia, and do not kowtow to Chinese Communist Party
BALI, INDONESIA–After detaining Chinese pro-democracy defector Jia Jia at a March 9th public forum, Indonesian authorities say that they plan to deport him back to China. The Indonesian branch of the U.N. has said that they don't have the right to do so, according to a source.
Jia made headlines by leaving a tour group in Taiwan on Oct. 23, 2006 and publicly announcing his break with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He has since been publicly speaking out against the party and encouraging people to withdraw from membership. Jia is the former Secretary General of the Science and Technology Association of Shanxi Province.
Jia had been denied entry into Malaysia when he flew to the country on February 21. A local official stated that the reason for the denial was that Jia Jia had been added to the blacklist of the Malaysian government.
According to Jia, his purpose of attending the event in Indonesia, originally planned as a formal press conference, was to explain to the public why he is traveling around Asia, and his observations of Asian countries' attitudes towards the CCP. After defecting from China, Jia has traveled to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia in the process of seeking political asylum outside of China.
This reporter saw Bali police interfere with the event, threatening to take Jia into their custody. In order to cooperate with police, organizers turned the event into an informal public forum, with Jia speaking from the audience rather than front-and-center.
Police then tried to stop Jia from speaking at all, threatening to detain and interrogate him. Around noon Bali time, Jia agreed to leave with the police.
If he stays in Indonesia, he is not supposed to speak to the people of Indonesia, said a supervising police officer.
Jia is currently in police custody and has hired an attorney, who said that there are no legal grounds for Jia's arrest. A U.N. official in Indonesia has also told police that they have no legal right to deport Jia Jia, according to a source who asked to remain anonymous.
Jia said that the police officers' actions are proof that the Indonesian government has given in to the CCP. Many governments fail to see through the CCP's means of deception and that its power, while seemingly strong, is actually quite fragile, he said. They choose to give in and to cooperate with the CCP for fear of losing economic benefits, he asserted.
Jia Jia has been a longtime advocate for democracy in China. The U.N. and international society should pay attention to his situation, because helping him is helping the Chinese people, he said.
So far over 19 million people have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party and its subsidiary organizations, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. An average of 30,000 to 40,000 people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party daily. Jia Jia said that the Chinese Communist Party is on the brink of collapse and that everybody and that every government must recognize the current crisis facing the CCP.
During his search for political asylum, Jia has been talking to local people during his tours and learning their opinions on the Chinese Communist Party and China's prospects. Jia said that he discovered that some governments and their people have illusions toward the Chinese Communist Party. For example, they think the Chinese Communist Party is equal to China, and they think building a relationship with the Chinese Communist Party is the same as building a relationship with 1.3 billions of Chinese people.
Jia Jia said that they have made wrong judgments towards China due to these misunderstandings. As a result, they are not aware of it when they help the Chinese Communist Party suppress the Chinese people and, thus, harm the interest of their own countries and people.

97. The Peaceful Reunification of China and Taiwan
Historically, the Taiwanese government, headed by the Kuomintang, has been a staunch supporter of reunification. Furthermore, look to Hong Kong and Macao, two successful examples of the one country, two systems model.
Taiwan can co-exist as a province or special economic zone of China.
Not only will that stave off hostilities between the two nations, but it will further advance the vital ties between the island and the mainland.
98. Stop human rights violations in China
Human Rights has been violated in China over the last 10 years or more.
Together we can help people in China from human rights violations if by influencing the United Nations.
99. CEGL banlist - unban Colton "Doobie" Reedy
I, Colton "Doobie" Reedy, have been banned from Cegl. Not from the forums but from playing in any matches, period. I was banned because of a faulty GUID (your "fingerprint" for your game) that I received from an ex-clan member.
I did not know it was on the MBL (Master Ban List). Gdz had shown me this recently (estimated 2 months ago) and there were Pbss's of people wallhacking. Then he showed me the IP's of these hackers and they came out to be in the locations of Germany, Russia, and China.
I do not live in Russia Germany or China, I live in Texas. To prove this I can go to a Dallas/Fort Worth Server (two cities located in Texas) and I'll ping any where from 5-20. Gdz then asked me if I knew how to proxy. I had heard of proxy things that "spoof" your IP making it seem like you live in any of those countries listed before. But because I do not have any such programs I find it hard beleive that I live in Germany, Russia, or China. Then on October 18, 2006 I received an Xfire from Gdz once again saying I was put on the CEGL ban list.
To me this was shocking because I was told that CEGL would probably not take action on screen shots of people in foreign countries on my guid.
100. Stop concentration camps in China
April 20, 2006
The massacre of Tibetans, the Tiananmen Square massacre, the repression of the intellectuals, where does the violence and control, repression of the people of China end?
Who is the next "enemy" of the communist party that is going to be eliminated? Since 1999, a violent persecution, that shows us the Chinese Communist Party is willing to murder good people in order to keep his people in fear and ignorance, towards Falun Gong practitioners has been going on. Thousands of people tortured, put in labor camps, families torn apart, all because they want to practice Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the 3 principles of Falun Gong.
Today, information that is being denied by the Communist Party has hit the ears of a lot of people that feel concerned and have the heart not to let pass by such atrocities. This information suggests the existence of a secret concentration camp in Sujiatun where 6000 Falun Gong practitioners are having their organs harvested while they are alive.
This brings back to memories the horrific concentration camps of Auschwitz and Dachau, to which the International community said "Never again!". An independant investigation from the International community must take place in China so that clear and concrete evidence is shown to the world and the perpetrators be brought to justice.
This is an urgent call to the people of the world, with a heart, defending Truth, Compassion and Tolerance, an urgent call upon the International community to initiate rescue programs and help stop this new genocide. Silence is the criminal's accomplice.
Whereas, in March 2006, three independent witnesses revealed that the Chinese communist regime is operating a secret concentration camp specifically for Falun Gong practitioners in the Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, China. Organs are removed from thousands of live bodies and sold for profit. The remains are then cremated to eliminate evidence. No one has ever come out alive!
Whereas, one of the witnesses, a veteran medical doctor who has served in the Shenyang military zone revealed that there are about 36 concentration camps in China with the three largest in the northeastern provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning. The largest camp, codenamed "672-S," is said to hold over 120,000 people, mostly Falun Gong practitioners.
Whereas, another witness, a former staff member of the "Liaoning Thrombus Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine" in the Sujiatun District of Shenyang City in Liaoning Province revealed that her husband at the time was a neurosurgeon whose job was to remove corneas of Falun Gong practitioners. "You don't understand my suffering," she recalls him telling her. "Those Falun Gong practitioners were alive. It might be easier for me if they were dead, but they were alive."
Whereas, this explains why there is no waiting list for human organs in the People's Republic of China, and that one can obtain a fresh organ as fast as in 24-hours in China.
Whereas, the Chinese Communist Party's policy is deaths of Falun Gong practitioners "count as suicide", and many practitioners have been missing in the past few years after they were illegally taken into custody by the authorities. One of them is the sister of Canadian citizen Michelle Zhang. Michelle's sister, Yunhe Zhang, kidnapped by police over 4 years ago. Nobody has heard from her since. Police stations, labour camps, provincial prisons all deny having kept her or knowing her whereabouts.
Whereas, there have been numerous reports from witnesses and family members that organs were missing from the bodies of practitioners who were tortured to death. Many families only received a box of ashes from the authorities without ever seeing the bodies of their loved ones.
Therefore we submit the following petition:
101. Free Hao Wu
April 14, 2006
Hao Wu (Chinese name: 吴皓), a Chinese documentary filmmaker and blogger who lived in the U.S. between 1992 and 2004, was detained by the Beijing division of China's State Security Bureau on the afternoon of Wednesday, Febuary 22, 2006.
On that afternoon, Hao had met in Beijing with a congregation of a Christian church not recognized by the Chinese government, as part of the filming of his next documentary.
Hao had also been in phone contact with Gao Zhisheng, a lawyer specializing in human rights cases. Gao confirmed to one of Hao's friends that the two had been in phone contact and planned to meet on Feb. 22, but that their meeting never took place after Gao advised against it.
On Friday, Feb. 24, Hao's editing equipment and several videotapes were removed from the apartment where he had been staying. Hao has been in touch his family since Feb. 22, but judging from the tone of the conversations, he wasn't able to speak freely. One of Hao's friends has been interrogated twice since his detention. Beijing's Public Security Bureau (the police) has confirmed that Hao has been detained, but have declined to specify the charges against him.
The reason for Hao's detention is unknown. One of the possibilities is that the authorities who detained Hao want to use him and his video footage to prosecute members of China's underground Churches. Hao is an extremely principled individual, who his friends and family believe will resist such a plan. Therefore, we are very concerned about his mental and physical well-being.
As of April 14th, 2006, Hao has been held for 52 days without being charged with a crime, in clear violation of Chinese procedure. Numerous requests by Hao's family for information have been denied by the State Security Bureau.
Hao Wu's friends and colleagues at Global Voices Online - where Hao served as China editor - in cooperation with his sister Wu Na have organized a website, a letter writing campaign and this petition to ask the Chinese government for his immediate release.
More information about Hao Wu's detention is available at http://freehaowu.org (or a mirror site, http://ethanzuckerman.com/haowu)
102. Petition to investigate China's concentration camps
Update May 15, 2006
This petition is now closed. Thanks to all who signed. Thanks to gopetition.com! More people have discovered the terrible news of concentration camps and signed to ask for investigation.
April 14, 2006
Recent reports have revealed several concentration camps in China where tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are being held and face possible deaththis is an urgent situation that requires attention from the international community, especially the United States.
According to multiple sources, concentration camps similar to the one in Sujiatun, Shenyang, have been set up in provinces across China to detain large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners. In those camps, the authorities have been harvesting the organs of practitioners while they are still alive and cremating the remains to destroy the evidence, then selling the organs for profit. Clearwisdom.net and The Epoch Times exposed these atrocities to the world in early March, and within three weeks, before Chinese officials addressed the issue to foreign media, the practitioners held in underground concentration camp in Sujiatun had been quickly relocated.
According to tips from Mainland China and different investigations, the Chinese communist regime hastily published the "Interim Regulation for Human Organ Transplant Practice" after the Sujiatun concentration camp was exposed. However, the regulation will not take effect until July 1, 2006, and thus we suspect the regime was allowing time to destroy all evidence of the crimes. Investigations have confirmed that hospitals and transplant centers in Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Hunan, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Anhui, Shan'xi, Xinjiang and etc. are operating overtime to perform transplant operations. Hospital staff members told undercover investigators that patients should come in quickly if they want a transplant, as the hospital can find matching organs in as short as one or two days and it will be difficult after this batch of organs is used up.
This information, supported by multiple investigations, leads to one conclusion: A slaughter to eliminate witnesses and victims of the concentration camps is underway. Because of this urgent situation, the Falun Dafa Association has initiated IGFG (Investigate Genocide against Falun Gong in China) where many credible organizations have been and will be invited to join, aiming to go to China to perform an independent investigation of the persecution of Falun Gong in all the labor camps, jails, hospitals and relevant facilities.
After World War II, the international community deeply regretted its failure to stop the Holocaust and solemnly promised "Never Again." We urgently ask you to take immediate action and activate all possible mechanisms to stop this new genocide in Mainland China. In particular, the U.S. government owns satellites that can provide information on the past and present activities in the concentration camps and labor camps etc.
In the meantime, we know that you are meeting with Hu Jintao later this month. We hope that you can bring up the following points:
1. Open up all of China's labor camps/jails/hospitals for international investigation.
2. Allow IGFG to go into China and research the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong.
We believe such requests are fair, just, necessary, and urgent considering the current situation. Every minute of delay will result in irremediable loss of innocent lives and will be a disgrace to the human race!
103. Please support Traditonal Chinese Characters
April 9, 2006
Traditional Chinese character has its own abundant culture & meanings beyond the characters themselves.
The UN shouldn't offically stop using it. To Save tradtional Chinese character means to save Chinese culuture, we do hope UN can think twice again.
For the Chinese govenrnment, we are appealing for your support as well. After all, the existence of traditional character has its cultural value. Although China has dispute with the Taiwanese government, do not be the killer of our own Chinese culture.
104. Stop China From Harvesting Human Organs
April 8, 2006
This Petition is created for raising global awareness about a situtation which recently unfolded about a concentration camp in China wherein the prisoners are having their vital organs extracted while they are still living.
The victims are practitioners of the peaceful practice known as Falun Gong which emphasizes the cultivation of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance.
Since 1999 under the communist regime, Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to one of the most brutal persecutions in human history. The most recent revelation of this horrible atrocity is that of the Sujiatun death camp where the majority of the Organ Harvesting has taken place.
New information reveals that as many as 36 such camps exist specifically to eradicate Falun Gong practitioners by means of vital organ extraction and live cremation.
We call for the kindhearted people of the world to petition for an immediate cease of these vile crimes against innocent people.
105. Say NO to United Nations' abolishment of Traditional Chinese in 2008
The Chinese language has many dialects spoken yet Mandarin has always been the official language.
In Mandarin, there are two present types of writings: Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters. Traditional Chinese has been the official form of writing for thousands of years. And from it, the Simplified form was born.
In recent decades, China's effort in trying to make Chinese easier for both her youth and foreigners resulted in this push of Simplified Chinese. However, at the same time, Traditional Chinese is still studied and widely recognized.
The purpose of Simplified Chinese was meant for an easier reading (with less characters) and less pen-strokes in writing characters. It is the attempt of making Chinese more phonetic rather than having many words pronounced the same.
The two forms of Chinese have always co-existed peacefully for many years. The importance of Traditional Chinese lies in the fact that each character represents a very specific meaning. This is of extreme importance because it allows the reader to understand a written word even without the word being in context.
Simplified Chinese, although convenient, fails to incorporate meaning into its characters. Many words of same phonetic sounds are replaced by a single character that possesses the same sound but lacks in meaning. The major downfall of Simplified Chinese is that it lacks meaning. Currently, historical texts are in Traditional Chinese, (simply because one can read and understand based on the author's choice of words) however, if Traditional Chinese is to be replaced by Simplified Chinese, one would not be able to understand these texts/writings because words have lost their meanings, they simply represent a way of pronouncing the texts. As time progresses, this would result in the loss of history and culture.
UN's action to "unify" the Chinese characters and recognize ONLY Simplified Chinese will have devastating impact upon the Chinese language, culture, history. Internationally, Traditional Chinese would be forgotten and neglected, it would only be a matter of time before Traditional Chinese becomes the next "Latin". (the dead language) Along with this loss of language, would be a culture and history lost forever.
Although Simplified Chinese is an easier way to learn Chinese, but it should not be the only form of Chinese written language. It should be a convenience, not an absolute. By allowing it to become the "official" writing, the Chinese language would be in regression.
------------------
Example of Simplified VS Traditional (provided by a fellow supporter)
The word Noodle in Chinese
Traditional: 麵 = 麥 + 面 (wheat + surface)
Simplified: 面 (surface/face/noodle)
*meaning in brackets
The Traditional form has two parts which helps to identify it as noodles. Simplified character only provides the pronouciation so the reader would be unable to determine the meaning without it's context.
-------------------
The above has been confirmed that the UN never used both Chinese forms. IN FACT, Traditional Chinese does not even exist in the UN anymore (except prior to early 1970's).
In truth, I am uncertain what will become of this petition. After all, it is a few decades late. Although, what saddens me, is the fact that Traditional Chinese has already lost its ground.
People signed this petition to fight against Traditional Chinese being abolished. YET, now that we know it's a fact, why should we not fight harder.
Some have claimed this to be a hoax. Others have supported and sent emails. I personally thank everyone of you who took time to come here regardless of your positions.

106. Stop China cat/dog fur-trade
December 12, 2005
Stop china from stealing our beloved pets for "precious pelt" trading. I don't know how often this happens but, all I can say is that they toss the cats in theses on the ground without a care. As if they were a common package delivered by the UPS truck.
They hang them, skin them alive, sometimes they're still breathing 10 minutes after being skinned...Their eyes slowly blinking as if to think "Why did I deserve this?"
107. Support Taiwan's bid to UN
Update: September 1, 2007
Please sign the updated petition at the following link Online petition - Support UN Membership for Taiwan.
The TECRO Press Release promoting the new petition can be found here.
----------------------------------------------
The Republic of China (Taiwan) is a free and peace-loving state, and its democratically elected government is the only one that represents the interests and wishes of the people of Taiwan.
Taiwan is the only nation not represented in the global assembly. The United Nations' exclusion of Taiwan violates the principles and spirit of the UN Charter, in particular the fundamental principle of universality, and of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Taiwan and its 23 million people are capable of making significant contributions to many UN efforts around the globe. Taiwan is also eager to do its part to combat such international problems as regional conflict, terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime, and environmental degradation. However, Taiwan is denied an important means of collaborating with international partners. This unnecessarily complicates the task at hand and hampers efforts to deal with such critical issues.
Moreover, as we enter the tenth anniversary of the 1996 Taiwan Strait Missile Crisis, the recent missile tests by North Korea have once again raised grave concerns throughout the international community. From this perspective, Taiwan’s allies have expanded the scope of areas with security concerns in the peace proposal to include all East Asian countries rather than just the Taiwan Strait. They stress that certain countries in the region engage in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction as well as missile deployment or testing, thereby escalating regional tension and affecting world peace.
Taiwan is a democratic nation that respects human rights, freedom, and peace. Taiwan meets all the requirements of UN membership. It makes little sense that Taiwan is ignored when considering the fact that Taiwan serves as a model for freedom and democracy in the Asia-Pacific and a beacon of hope for those living under communist rule. To safeguard peace, the United Nations has to facilitate the necessary dialogue between Taiwan and the People's Republic of China.
Please support Taiwan and help it gain representation in the United Nations.
108. Stop Female Infanticide Now!
In many parts of the world, sex ratio is artificially skewed in favor of boy children. Recently, the number of males has increased and the number of females has decreased in China, India, Pakistan, and South Korea.
In many cases, girl children are so devalued that they are abandoned or killed at birth. Female, infanticide-the intentional killing of girl babies-has been widely documented in China and India, and is believed to be common in other Asian countries. Current technology allows women to know the gender of their fetuses before birth, and in many parts of the world, female fetuses are several times more likely to be aborted.
If they are allowed to live, girl children often receive little food and no health care or education-all of which are violations of girls' human rights. Because girls are less often educated than boys, two-thirds of the worlds illiterate adults are women. In many countries girls are more likely to become ill, but less likely to be taken to a doctor than their male counterparts. Discrimination against girl children manifests itself in a variety of more subtle ways as well. In some cultures, for example, although girl children may not be denied an education, they often receive less attention in school and are steered into stereotypical areas of study.
Discrimination against girl children is so deeply ingrained on an international level that it was nearly left out to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The convention was nearly opened for signature in 1990 containing only male pronouns: "she" and "her" had to be added at the last minute. Given this, it is perhaps not surprising that the convention often does not speak to the needs of girl children. For example, it does not address female genital mutilation, son preference, or early marriage-practices that impact girls more than boys.
109. Support the 23 million people in Taiwan for freedom and democracy
May 12, 2005
Please support the democratic Taiwan and the 23 million people's rights!
1. Taiwan has one quarter the size of the state of Illinois and nurtures a population the same size as Canada's.
2. Taiwan is a bright jewel in the Far East. The island embraces several cultures, east and west; old and new. Taiwan plays a major role in the world's economy and free trade.
3. In the past 400 years, Taiwan has many sad stories and pain growing up to be a free democratic country with a lively economy. She has been the territory of Chin Dynasty (before 1895); ruled by the Dutch; Ceded to Japan (1895-1945); blood shed ed by Chiang Kai-sheik ("228 Incident" in 1947); under Marshall Law (and White Terror) for over 38 years (1949-1988), yet people's love for freedom and democracy prevailed.
4. The PRC (a totalitarian China established in 1949) just passed "Anti-Secession Law" to rob the human rights of people in Taiwan (ROC, a free and democratic Taiwan).
5. What we are asking for is:
a. Help Taiwan join WHO for the welfare of the 23 million people in Taiwan. (Just imagine the whole Canada's people being excluded from WHO; Just imagine what if there is another SARS!).
b. Please take the WTO model, let Taiwan's 23 million people have the equal right to participate in the UN. Taiwan has suffered a lot under Chiang Kai-sheik's "One China" policy. Taiwan should not have to suffered again by the "Shut-Door" policy of the PRC's. Taiwan would do only to enhance the world peace, free trade, freedom and democracy.
c. Please recognize that Taiwan is not another Hong Kong. The 23 million people in Taiwan should have the right to determine their own future.
By: Margaret Lu. M.D., M.P.H. (a posthumous daughter and only child of one of the "228 Incident " of 1947 victim, Dr. George C. Kuo, M.D.)
110. The U.S. Should Support Independence for Taiwan
The United States ought to adjust its policy & oppose communist China's attempts to take over Taiwan.
Taiwan is a stable and prosperous democracy, and the United States should recognize Taiwan's freedom and sovereignty.
111. Non à la levée de l'embargo sur les ventes d'armes à la Chine
25 Mai 2006
Bonjour a tous,

112. Say No to China's 'Anti-Separation Law'
The National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) approved a draft of the "Anti-Separation Law" in December 2004 and will submit it to the NPC for further deliberation and passage in March, 2005. The enactment of such a law deeply concerns Taiwan, an independent and sovereign nation comprised of 23 million people.
The "Anti-Separation Law" will provide unification with the PRC as the sole option for cross-Strait relations. The law outlines what Beijing considers acts and consequences of Taiwan independence, and further promotes its "one country, two systems" stance in strict conformity with its so-called "one China" policy. At worse, the law would, in effect, legalize war against Taiwan in the eyes of Beijing.
Passage of the "Anti-Separation Law" would change the status quo unilaterally and result in serious consequences for peace and stability in the region. It ignores the political reality that Taiwan and the PRC are two independent and equal entities and disregards the desire of the Taiwan people to determine their own future. In December 2004, for example, the Mainland Affairs Council conducted a survey to Taiwan people in which 83% or respondents polled expressed opposition to the enactment of the "Anti-Separation Law."
The passage of such a law would quickly destroy what little trust there is in Beijing and erode cross-Strait relations further.
113. Stop the Slaughter of Saint Bernards and Other Dogs
Over the past few years, China has been importing Saints Bernards and other breeds to cross with the very few local dogs that existed after the mass slaughter by the Red Guard.
Huge dog farms have sprung up over China and the dogs and their off-spring are slaughtered in the most inhumane manner. The pups from 3 months of age.
Please help Sirius Global Animal Trust put an end to this abhorrent practice which is neither to help "starving" people nor "culture". This has been confirmed by the First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy, Wellington NZ.
114. No to EU's Arms Sales to China
October 2, 2004
After the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989 the European Union Parliament adopted a resolution banning weapons sales to China. Now France and Germany suggest lifting the ban.
We strongly oppose this as human rights in China continue to deteriorate and China already has over 500 ballistic missiles aimed at Taiwan. Furthermore, lifting the ban would directly endanger Taiwan, lead to a regional arms race and destabilize global peace and stability.
115. Release the Kidnapped Panchen Lama of Tibet (Gedun Choekyi Nyima)
The 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet (Gedun Choekyi Nyima) was born on April 25, 1989. In May 1995 Gedun Choekyi Nyima was 6 years old when he and his parents were kidnapped from their home in Tibet by the Chinese government. Widely known as the World's Youngest Political Prisoner, he has been missing for almost 9 years.
In Tibet, Panchen Lama is a title like Vice-President or Prime Minister. Panchen means Great Scholar and Lama means Religious Teacher.
This missing boy will grow up to be a great leader if released and allowed to pursue his religious studies in freedom.
So please add your signature to this petition for the speedy release of the 11th Panchen Lama. Thank you for your support.
116. Stop the murder of infant and baby girls in China
Little baby girls are being murdered in China and thrown out on the curbs, or streets, or in the garbage, or dumpsters. Its not illegal over there because there is a limit on the citizens to only bear two children.
The men want to carry on their name so they murder their daughters so they can have sons. They throw their murdered babies in the streets like they are pure garbage. This is disgusting. So many people that cant have babies and these little girls are being killed. You should love your biological children whether they can carry on your name or not. Its sick minded to kill an infant and toss her in the road.
117. Change U.S. Policy to Save North Korean Refugee Children in China
This Petition was started to lobby for the change of prohibitive U.S. Policy that makes it virtually impossible for North Korean refugees, in particular the young orphaned children, who are currently living in fear and hiding in China, to seek asylum and resettlement in the U.S. Countless thousands of these young children live on the streets under the constant threat of hunger, exploitation, abuse, arrest and repatriation. Recent crackdowns by the Chinese, who treat these refugees as illegal aliens, have worsened the situation, and immediate action is critical to saving these fragile lives.

Nanjing University intends to redevelop the area in which Da An is located as part of their expansion plan. This means that Da An will be no more! We are organising a Da An music night 'Zui Zhong Yao de Shi Wanr!' for June 29th, inviting all artists who have previously played in Da An to perform in support of this cause. Please come along!

Please help us spread the word to all those who have been to Nanjing and Da An.
119. 4 ICQ to + China Mobile to the SMS email Gateway
ICQ offers SMS though the web, icq, and email. (FOR FREE). The only gateway that China Mobile isn't supported by is the Email Gateway. The most important one, because with the email gateway we can use services like Yahoo!, Mobile and MSN Mobile, to have sports, news, and weather sent to us via SMS (email).
120. Petition To Stop Mass Executions In China
Amnesty International has reported that China executed 1,781 people over the past 3 months on July 6th, 2001.
This number is more than the rest of the world has executed over the last 3 years.
