1. Stop the Name Change of the Norwood Lateral

President Obama currently has several highways and roads dedicated in his honor.

It would be an honorary tribute to rename St. Rt. 562 after Carl H. Lindner, Jr. who made many contributions to not only the City of Norwood but its surrounding communities.

2. End Government Shutdown 2013

On October 1, 2013 at 12:01am, the United States Government partially shutdown due to the inability of each political party to come to an agreement regarding the Federal Budget.

This shutdown has caused much hardship amongst the American people, with NASA interns losing their homes, a woman being nearly abandoned while injured in Acadia National Park, and Federal workers not receiving the paychecks on which they depend until further notice, for example.

Every other sector of society has been deleteriously affected as well or will be as the effects of the Shutdown trickle down and ripple through each day.

3. Ban Semi-Automatic Weapons!

The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting has made countries all over the world mourn for those children and adults lost.

The parents who have lost their children are now trying to stand back up and be strong. But they can't do it without our support.

If any more shootings take place, America could be forced to immediate action. We have to make things better!

4. Stop the Fiscal Cliff - "Congress, Do the People's Work!"

The United States of America once again faces a budget crisis with only until the end of the year to resolve. This petition is to send a message to our elected officials that the "business as usual" method of politics is not acceptable with this issue of great importance. This petition calls for our government to get to work - set aside politics - and solve this issue.

An expected result of the fiscal cliff, is that the economy will regress into a recession, thus costing many American's their jobs. As a consequence, this petition calls for our elected officials to have all of their compensation and medical benefits suspended for themselves and their families. This addresses the simple question, why should they get paid when they are risking countless number of American jobs due to their inaction and they are not performing the people's work?

Quite simply, No Work, No Pay. Isn't that what happens in the real world?

7. Request that Mitt Romney withdraw from the 2012 Presidential race so as not to take votes away from Gary Johnson

Due to the recent events involving Mitt Romney's remarks about Obama supporters and the Republican parties unfair treatment of Ron Paul supporters, we have no confidence in Mitt Romney's chances of winning the 2012 Presidential election.

We feel that these events reflect poorly on Mitt Romney, and any further involvement would only hurt Gary Johnson's chances of victory.

8. LET RON PAUL SPEAK

We the people of the United States of America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, are here together as one voice.

We stand together as Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals, Libertarians, and Freedom Fighters. We come together from all different beliefs, races, and sexes but we all believe in America. We stand together as friends, we stand together as family, and we stand together as a country.

We ask that you not let the voice of the American people die, and that you restore the belief in our people, so that our great nation may inspire the world all over again. We work as firemen, nurses, cab drivers, teachers, cops, cooks, and customer services representatives. We work at schools, restaurants, and hospitals. We work for the city, for the state, and for the country.

It is our understanding that Republican Presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul has achieved a plurality of delegates in a minimum of five states. We are asking as one voice that you make our republican convention fair by giving Dr. Ron Paul a speaking slot at the convention. The world has taken notice of this election.

Let us not become a joke to them, but rather an example of the integrity of our great nation. Let the convention showcase the two great leaders from our republican side, that one may emerge to contest Barack Obama. Let us showcase to the world, on the greatest of stages, what a republic looks like.

10. Declaration of Facebook Media Group and Multi-networking Media Group Protesting China’s Aggression against Vietnam

Declaration of Facebook Media Group and Multi-networking Media Group Protesting China’s Aggression of Vietnam - Tuyên Cáo Của Nhóm Truyền Thông Facebook và Nhóm Truyền Thông Liên Mạng Phản Đối Trung Quốc Xâm Lược VN

The East China Sea territories presently claimed by many ASEAN nations such as Viet Nam and China and the conflicts there are mounting. Nations, communities and people claiming territories and or resources have petition (http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/tuy%C3%AAn-c%C3%A1o-c%E1%BB%A7a-nh%C3%B3m-truy%E1%BB%81n-th%C3%B4ng-facebook-v%C3%A0-nh.html) the UN to resolve the territory dispute. Therefore, it is necessary for the UN World Court (and any related institution(s)) to actively and promptly resolve the conflict to prevent further global communities divisiveness, anger, hatred, mistrust, animosity and potential destruction and violence.

Resolution by the UN may not prevent conflicts since conflicts can be function of political, economical, cultural and social factors. However, it would establish mechanisms for rule of law; mechanisms for conflict prevention dialogue and resolution; respect of UN Charter, values, principles and membership; global responsibility and accountability; and Global Responsibility To Protect. An effective and comprehensive Global Responsibility To Protect mechanism should not only be limited to intervening when there are such as violence, abuse, atrocities, crimes against humanity and genocides but it should also cover the responsibility and accountability to prevent and resolve conflicts before they escalated. Act promptly to prevent and resolve conflicts are also opportunities for the UN to build up the resources, institutions and structures for common good and the benefits of all.

11. Stop gruesome and unnecessary experiments!

Animal testing is probably the worst form of animal cruelty in history. Every second of the day an animal dies from gruesome and unnecessary experiments! In fact, it has been proven that 25 to 50 BILLION non-human primates and companion animals die annually... all because of Animal Testing.

But the good news is that we can do something about it, such as spreading the word, boycotting products that have been tested on, and by SIGNING THIS PETITION.

Thanks for all your help,

14. Barack Obama Ethics Investigation

Barack Obama has collected millions of dollars that wasn't properly observed, because he opted out of public financing during the general election. So, he was able to bypass the campaign finance laws without proper investigation.

That is why I am calling for Congress to investigate Barack Obama on ethics charges, because of recent actions after the general election he is having a custom made "Thank You" ring being made of very rare metal (rhodium) specially for Mrs. Obama. This item is valued at $30,000 and this petition is to find and have released the sources of contributions and their locations, and if any campaign finance money was used in an unethical manner.

Campaign finance money should not be used unethically to splurge at the taxpayers expense.

16. Solving the USA's National Debt & Financial Crisis

Daily we read about Presidential candidates position on health care coverage, tax breaks, rebuilding infrastructure and several issues.

Question to the American People: What are candidates, congress or the President doing to address how to pay for the financial rescue plan , national budget deficits, international and national defense?

Answer: America can rise out of the ashes by addressing the core issue that brought America to where we are today by acknowledging we must sustain our economy, our government programs - social security, defense, social services, infrastructure, education and health care, by adopting a 12% flat tax for individuals, no more allowance deductions and keeping business taxation regulation and laws intact.

18. Hold a televised debate on National Security between Senator McCain and Senator Obama

The United States faces a critical threat to our national security. That clear and present danger is from radical Islamists. The threat is both global and in the homeland, as evidenced by the attacks on the United States and its allies before and after 9/11.

We have won the war against Al Qaeda in Iraq. However, the West, and America in particular, face serious challenges from a nuclear armed Iran, Syria a state sponsor of terror, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

These threats are both far and near. Within America cells from each of these terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terrorism have been discovered. Others remain hidden and waiting. We are seeing a rise in Europe and America of "White Al Qaeda" and lone wolf terrorists radicalized using the Internet.

As the "hot wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan continue we have an Islamist "cold war" being conducted here in the United States. This takes the form of radical Imams in mosques funded by Saudi Arabia, the gradual introduction of Sharia law into our economic and social fiber, and foreign funding of terrorist organizations in America.

Both the "hot" and "cold" wars are being funded with petro-dollars. The spending of over $700 billion annually to purchase foreign oil is the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the United States. Some of that money is being used to kill our troops and fund the radical Islamic movement in America. A strong economy and energy independence are therefore, in large part, national security issues.

The threat requires public debate at all levels. Candidates for public office at local, state and national levels must be aware of the threats we face and provide a plan to address them directly. This debate should be both from the bottom up and the top down.

A nationally televised debate between the two Presidential Candidates is imperative to raise public awareness and educate us all on their visions of a clear strategy for victory.

Both Presidential candidates have said they will finish the job in Iraq and "surge" more American troops into Afghanistan. Whoever is elected will be war time president!

It is time for Senators Obama and McCain to tell us how they will win the war!

19. Obama-Webb 2008

Note:

(1) I will personally send a paper copy of our petition, via-Certified Priority Mail, to the following: Barack Obama, Obama for America, Jim Webb, James A. Johnson and the Democratic National Committee. (2) Further, I will be editing signatures by capitalizing and punctuating posts where necessary - as this would help make our petition presentable to the recipients.

Summary:

Jim Webb is the junior Senator from Virginia. Webb was elected in 2006, and is a member of the Democratic Party.

We strongly urge that Senator Barack Obama select Senator Jim Webb as his Vice Presidential running mate. If Obama is indeed a proponent of “Change,” then he would not select Senator Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential running mate. We believe that Senator Webb would enhance Senator Obama’s prospects at defeating the McCain ticket. Arguably, Senator Webb has the military background that is parallel to that of Senator McCain. Further, Webb may assist Obama in pulling the demographic attracted to McCain.

On February 28, 2008, Senator Webb introduced an enhancement to the GI Bill that would dramatically increase educational compensation for American servicemen. Senator McCain opposed such enhancement. This came to the dismay of about 30,000 veterans who delivered a petition to Senator McCain. In Contrast, both Senators Obama and Webb have signed as a co-sponsor and sponsor, respectively.

The following are some highlights of Senator Jim Webb:
- 2007 to current: Democratic Senator of Virginia
- 1987: Served as Secretary of the Navy under President Reagan
- 1984: Served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs under President Reagan
- 1977: Worked on the staff of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and taught at the United States Naval Academy.
- 1975: Graduated from Georgetown Law School
- 1968-1972: Served as a U.S. Marine Corps military officer in the Vietnam War. While in Vietnam, Webb earned a Navy Cross, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts.
- 1968: Graduated from the United States Naval Academy.

Other Highlights:

- Senator Webb is the author of eight novels; two of which include “Fields of Fire” and “Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America”
- Senator Webb was the writer and executive producer of “Rules of Engagement,” which starred Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson.
- Senator Webb sold his script for “Whiskey River” to Warner Brothers. “Whiskey River” is currently in production; it is directed and produced by Rob Reiner.
- Senator Webb has won an Emmy for his PBS coverage of the U.S. Marines in Beirut.
- Senator Webb has written articles in the following publications: American Enterprise, American Legion, Inside the Navy, Marine Corps Gazette, Naval Institute, The New York Times, Parade Magazine, Strategic Review, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Weekly Standard.
- In an opinion piece for the New York Times, Senator Webb successfully foresaw Iraqi insurgency.
- Senator Webb is fluent in Vietnamese and is married to Corporate Lawyer, Hong Le Webb.
- Senator Webb has two children.

The Navy Cross Citation of Senator James Webb is as follows:

“The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to James H. Webb, Jr. (106180), First Lieutenant, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving as a Platoon Commander with Company D, First Battalion, Fifth Marines, FIRST Marine Division (Reinforced), Fleet Marine Force, in connection with combat operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam. On 10 July 1969, while participating in a company-sized search and destroy operation deep in hostile territory, First Lieutenant Webb's platoon discovered a well-camouflaged bunker complex which appeared to be unoccupied. Deploying his men into defensive positions, First Lieutenant Webb was advancing to the first bunker when three enemy soldiers armed with hand grenades jumped out. Reacting instantly, he grabbed the closest man and, brandishing his .45 caliber pistol at the others, apprehended all three of the soldiers. Accompanied by one of his men, he then approached the second bunker and called for the enemy to surrender. When the hostile soldiers failed to answer him and threw a grenade which detonated dangerously close to him, First Lieutenant Webb detonated a claymore mine in the bunker aperture, accounting for two enemy casualties and disclosing the entrance to a tunnel. Despite the smoke and debris from the explosion and the possibility of enemy soldiers hiding in the tunnel, he then conducted a thorough search which yielded several items of equipment and numerous documents containing valuable intelligence data. Continuing the assault, he approached a third bunker and was preparing to fire into it when the enemy threw another grenade. Observing the grenade land dangerously close to his companion, First Lieutenant Webb simultaneously fired his weapon at the enemy, pushed the Marine away from the grenade, and shielded him from the explosion with his own body. Although sustaining painful fragmentation wounds from the explosion, he managed to throw a grenade into the aperture and completely destroy the remaining bunker. By his courage, aggressive leadership, and selfless devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Webb upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service.”

20. CNN - STOP the Media Bias against Senator Hillary Clinton

This is a petition to end the constant Media Bias projected at the democratic nominee Senator Hillary Clinton, by the news network CNN.

Such bias that has consistently gone against Senator Clinton in favor of Senator Obama, has been explicit, untrustworthy and destroyed the credibility and faith that supporters of Senator Clinton have in CNN in bringing them an an objective and factual account of the primary process.

The news slant has been incredibly unfair and has ultimately hurt the Clinton Campaign beyond recognition - voters have been denied the ability to evaluate both candidates in a fair light, on their merits, abilities and achievements.

Not merely have CNN painting Senator Obama in a more favorable light, they have failed to cover in - depth the events that threaten to tarnish his credibility as a candidate; moreover the consistent and unrelenting criticism targeted at Senator Clinton has created the impression that she is the less experienced, less accountable and less colorable candidate.

It has consequentially created the illusion that Senator Obama is more honorable and deserving of positive coverage. This does nothing to aid voters in their efforts to understand or assess who they would choose to elect.

CNN as a commanding news network should know better and it has not merely been distasteful, but ultimately outrageous to watch such behavior being sanctioned - both in the analysis and reporting of the process.

We would urge CNN to examine its approach for the forthcoming primaries, and to strive towards a more balanced and veritable approach that allows voters and viewers to make the right decision, based on the right information.
