331. Penrith venue for live music

With the lack of venues for live music in the Western Sydney area and a growing culture of youth who support and follow local music and live bands we are looking to setup an ongoing venue to host gigs, festivals, and other events with the purpose of getting youths off the street and offer a great, safe venue for the youth of today.
The lack of venues to host live bands in Western Sydney, both local and international, is strangling the scene out West. There are a small handful of venues capable of holding up to 200.
We are looking at getting a large venue to hold at least 1000 people, with the intention of hosting international and local bands, festivals, and many other events. The music will be mostly punk/hardcore oriented but will have the occasional techno/trance/house music.
This will be sent to the Penrith Council and will help with the start of a permanent venue to get the youth off the streets and have a venue to support the growth and success of local bands!

Yes I know, Wednesday was just here in September 05, but if you're like me, it wasn't enough. Rumour has it that Wednesday 13 is going to be returning mid to late 2006, and that Adelaide maybe included on the bill this time. I thought I would create a new petition to help make the tour 100% official, ASAP

Wednesday 13, prolific singer / song writer formerly of the Murderdolls, has put togther a band and released his debut solo album "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying & the Dead". With tunes such as "I Walked with a Zombie", "Bad Things" & "The Ghost of Vincent Price", the songs are nothing short of brilliant.
Wednesday 13 has re-arranged the band line-up (including Eric Griffen of the Murderdolls) and is currently recording their new album entitled 'Fang Bang', due for a mid-year release.
If there is one word to describe Wednesday, it would be 'showman'. His songs are creepy 3-chord tunes inspired by his favourite horror films and some of the greatest shock rock pioneers of the genre such as Alice Cooper and The Misfits.
From his earlier years in The Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 to his more recognised days in The Murderdolls (featuring Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison on guitar duties), Wednesday 13 is a performer whom you should definately see to believe.

Many citizens in the Beaudesert Shire have expressed outrage at the method of culling of dingoes and wild dogs within this shire and other shires in Australia.
335. PAEDOPHILE ALERT!
After exhaustive research it has become disturbingly clear to me that registered sex offenders continue to teach in schools (particularly Catholic). It is often swept under the carpet by heads of department who give the offender a second chance, pay off the victims to be silent and deny parents the right to the reality of the type of school their child is really attending. Most importantly, what about the children?!
Paedophiles are almost certainly incurable, why supply them with ample opportunity to reoffend and destroy innocent lives. They have committed the most heinous of crimes and do not deserve a second chance. It is clear that a child sex offender is without conscience or sorrow for their crimes if they have the audacity to work with children. Furthermore, it is a critical part of their 'treatment' to cease contact with children due to the temptation that arises. Therefore it is a slap in the face of justice, the safety of children and the rights of their parents to protect them from predators.
Obviously child sex offenders shouldn't associate with children, let alone teach or have power over them on a daily basis. Misplaced trust merely amuses and assists these smug monsters and I feel it critical that their existence in our schools be made public knowledge. We as parents do not want to send our children to schools where they are at high risk of falling prey to paedophiles, we as a community do not condone this offensive and irresponsible practice at all.
Would you knowingly send your child off to school each day to be taught by a rapist... I think not!
336. No Man Should Die Without a State
Robert Jovicic is a man without state.
Born of Serbian parents, he arrived in Australia from France when he was two years old. He has lived 36 of his 38 years in Australia.
In 2004,Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock deported him on character grounds after he was jailed for several burglaries to support a heroin addiction.
Desperate to return to his home country, he camps outside the Australian embassy every night.His health is not good, and his family believe he will die if not returned home before the onset of European winter.
He speaks no Serbian & only speaks English,with,as you'd expect,an Australian accent.He wants to come home to his family in Melbourne.
The Serbian gov't do not recognise him as a citizen,& as a result he cannot work, receive welfare or medical services & is virtually destitute
Effectively,he has been dumped there,in a country that is an absolute stranger to him.
If he lacks Australian citizenship,he is an Australian in all the ways that matter-his family is there & he knows no other home.
While in many cases it is reasonable for a nation to exclude criminals from residency in order to uphold the rule of law & national security,I believe this is a case that warrants mercy. Addiction is a terrible illness This man is too unwell to be a threat. Without access to housing or medical care his situation is dire.No man should be left to die without a state.
Australians have long prided themselves on being a land that gives people "a fair go". I urge the Prime Minister to show that justice can be tempered with mercy,and give this ill man a 'fair go'at staying alive,by simply being allowed to COME HOME.
337. Restoration Of Mount Morgan Cemetery

The Mount Morgan cemetery is in such state that people all over the world are calling it a Scene from a horror movie.
The Mt Morgan cemetery is well known for its unbearable state and yet nothing seems to be done about it.
As a witness and local resident to the the cemetery,it is a real eye sore and upsetting to see the resting place of our loved ones in such disgraceful conditions.
Some Conditions of cemetery are as follows:
Long grass covering head stones and gravesites standing knee high, Sinking gravesites, Weeds, Poor fencing, Filthy toilets, smashed graves & Poor road conditions.

In 2004, the City of Sydney (which one year earlier had taken over South Sydney City Council) earmarked Redfern Oval, the spiritual home of the Rabbitohs, for re-development. They proposed three options ranging from turning it into open community green space to a full scale NRL Stadium.
South Sydney Leagues Club proposed a fourth option which was funded by private investment rather than being tax-payer funded and was the only option that allowed for parking. The Souths Leagues option was for a 14,000 seat boutique stadium.
On Monday 14 November 2005, the Council's Environment and Heritage Committee voted against the Souths Leagues Club proposal which Council is expected to ratify on November 21. This would effectively end the South Sydney Rabbitohs dream of returning to their Spiritual Home Ground.

341. High Performance Suzuki Swift GTi for Australia
There have been announcements in Japan of the new Swift "Sport" - the spiritual successor to the cult classic Swift GTi, sold in Australia for 14 years from 1986.
The announcement of the new Swift Sport in Australia has been preempted by rumours that it will only be an upgraded version of the 5 door Swift currently on offer, with a 92kw 1.6L engine and other mild performance enhancing modifications.
Although the styling of the new Swift Sport isn't in question, kilowatt per cubic centimeter, the engine will produce less power than the previous Swift GTi, and the car itself weighs over 100kg more. To put it in perpective, the performance of the engine is on a par with the outgoing Holden Barina SRi, which has been around for years.
If Suzuki are interested in cornering the sports hatchback market they need a car with at least 115kw, whether it be turbocharged or naturally aspirated.
If the Swift Sport is only a stopgap measure before the release of the new Swift GTi then Suzuki Australia need to let us know!

347. Repair footpath at intersection of Henry, Cross & Jenner Streets
A petition to Baulkham Hills Shire Council to make repairs to the footpath on the intersections of Henry Street, Cross Street and Jenner Street.
The footpath does not allow a pedestrian with a pram or stroller to safely cross from Jenner Street to Henry Street without walking onto the road directly in the path of oncoming traffic.
This intersection is frequently the site of car accidents.
348. Nintendo Australia - Release The Pokémon Tickets!
In Japan, USA and Europe, gamers were able to obtain the tickets to capture Deoxys and Lugia in their Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald Pokémon games. In Australia we have no such opportunity.
We are continuously indoctrinated with the marketing slogan 'Gotta Catch 'em All' however Nintendo makes this impossible for us simply because we live in Australia.

Green Day are one of the greatest and most well-loved punk rock bands in the world today. It was recently announced that they will be returning to Australia to play two concerts - one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.
After putting on a fantastic and absolutely rockin` show in Perth (Western Australia) @ Rock It in March this year I had seriously hoped that they would once again grace us with their presence - but it seems that this is not to be.
Well I say NO WAY!! Do they not realise how much us Perthies would love to see them back on our sunny western shores?!? So yeh, I've decided to do something about it and I really think that you guys will be able to help me out! I really do believe (and hope from the bottom of my heart!) that Green Day will come back to Perth to put on another VERY LOUD and VERY ROCKIN` show for all of their many and dedicated fans in Perth.

Recently Rumour has been spreading about Lindsay Fox's Idea (a great one by the way) to Buy a DisneyLand park in Avalon, a short distance from Geelong.
This is a great idea and Location (minutes from an Airport and a short drive to Melbourne - Victoria's Capital city). Not to mention all of the publicity, and sky shows for residents of Geelong, Werribee, Avalon, and the surrounding areas.

Port of Melbourne Authority is dredging the floor of Port Phillip Bay of all marine corals and wildlife to make way for a deeper channel for larger cargo ships to dock.
A deeper bay Westernport should be the alternative.

The unsporting behavior of the National Cricket Captain of Australia is a disgrace to Australia and also for the spirit of the game of Cricket.
Mr. Ricky Ponting the present Captain of Australian Cricket Team displayed his loutish behaviour again in the 4th Ashes Test Match and displyed to the world that how weak he and his team is when losing.
When He was run out by substitute player Gary Pratt of the England Team, Mr. Ponting got into an argument against it with the umpire and with some players of the England Team and later he was fined 75% of the match fee by the match Referee.
When the ICC had set rules and regulations for the game of cricket, it is the duty of the players to follow them. When players like Mr. Ricky Ponting tries to overrule, then what's the role does the governing body play?

358. Build a new Vertical Ramp at HQ
This petition is to help get a new Vertical Ramp installed at HQ.
YMCA Youth HQ currently house an undersized vertical ramp on site and want to upgrade. If there is enough community support, this will help in the funding process to install a new competition-sized vertical ramp. If successful, HQ will then house the only vertical ramp of its size in Western Australia, helping to train up local skaters as well as attract international professionals, further developing the sport locally.
