1. Protect Your Members, Police Association of Victoria!
This petition is to lobby TPAV to do more to protect its members who report inappropriate workplace behaviour, especially against senior officers including bullying and, protect those who suffer recriminations and reprisals as a result of reporting those behaviours.
2. No Advertisements on NBA Uniforms!
The NBA is set to cash in on the opportunity to place advertisements on the jerseys of NBA players, what does this mean for the fans?
Will we accept that the NBA is at its core a medium to rake in profit? Shouldn't WE stand firm with the tradition and history the jerseys represent?
The current size proposed is 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch, but what restricts the NBA from allowing an even larger percentage of the jersey to be covered. Keep the jerseys clean and respectful!
3. Fairer discounts for right to acquire tenants
The Government has launched a “reinvigorated” Right to Buy scheme for public sector tenants that will provide £75,000 discounts to help social tenants into home ownership. This means that tenant will be given 35% discount and 1% for every year they have been a social housing tenant.
However, this does not include tenants who are under the right to aquire scheme, this scheme offers between £9000 and £16000 dependant on where they live. The government state there are currently no plans for a change in right to aquire discount policy.
So again why is one group of Tenants being treated differently from another group of Tenant. We all Public Sector Tenants.

5. Let Richard Wentz fly his flag
A retired member of the New York City Police Department who helped victims out of the World Trade Center on 9-11 is now at war with his Coral Springs homeowners' association over a commemorative flag.
Richard Wentz has been given 10 days to take down his flag down or face fines and possibly legal action.
"That flag means the world to me. Other than my children, that flag means the world to me," said Wentz.
Wentz lives in the Fairways at Heron Bay. The commemorative flag lists the names of everyone who died on Sept. 11, 2001, and is a replica of the ones placed in Battery Park during the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
"When I received the letter, I actually stood out in front of the house yelling in anger about it," Wentz said.
Wentz, a retired New York City police officer, said he ran into the Tower 1 and started pulling out people before the building collapsed. Wentz said he lost 43 friends and colleagues that day. The inside of his home is a shrine to the friends he lost.
Wentz now has cancer, he said, from breathing in all the particles during the cleanup of Ground Zero.
The letter from the Fairways at Heron Bay association said the flag detracts from the aesthetic harmony of the surrounding properties. He said he was confronted by Patricia Favata, president of the Board of Directors.
"She pushed the issue and said, 'Do we really need to get lawyers involved?' Her demeanor got very nasty," Wentz said.
No one was at Favata's home when Local 10 tried to talk to her.
Several neighbors said they are disgusted.
"He was involved in 9-11, and what he went through, he deserves to have the flag up there. I think it's an honor in our neighborhood to have the flag up," said resident Irene Skulsky.
"That flag doesn't bother me at all and shouldn't be taken down," added another neighbor.
Bill Sugarman, the president of Benchmark Property Management, which represents the association, said he received complaints.
The rules say there can only be one flag per home.
"The only flag that is allowed is an American flag. The problem is he is flying two flags, and until someone changes that there is a problem," Sugarman said.
Wentz refuses to take it down. "I will not take that flag down. That flag will remain up. I don't care how many fines they want to give me, how many notices they want to give me, I refuse to take that down," Wentz said.
The American Civil Liberties Union weighed in, saying that although homeowners associations are constitution-free zones, it has asked the state to limit what associations can do.
"This is an absurd, excessively literal interpretation of the rule. Why anybody would want to enforce that is beyond me," said Howard Simon with the ACLU.
6. Make it harder for rich businessmen to take over football clubs
I am making this petition to persuade the FA to make it more difficult for wealthy businessmen to take over clubs and give them an unfair advantage.
A good example of this was the takeover of English club Manchester City FC by Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan in September 2008. The club have become a top club in the world signing some of the most skilled players in the game, such as Robinho, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Edin Dzeko, Mario Balotelli and Samir Nasri.
Manchester City FC do not have a history of great success, whereas clubs such as Manchester Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal do. But Man City were just taken over and suddenly become one of the best teams.
Aston Villa used to be one of the most successful teams, winning the league, FA Cup and other competitions, but now they are less successful and normally slipping into the top half.
Please sign to stop football teams getting unfair advantages by takeover by rich businessmen and the signing of quality players.
Whereas APUS (the Association of Part-time Undergraduate Students), has been told to vacate their NEW office at the Margaret Fletcher building (100 Devonshire Place) by December 1, 2011 for plans to build a “Centre for High Performance Sport,” of which 75% of the operating costs are expected to be paid for by students;
Whereas APUS is lobbying to preserve the Margaret Fletcher building which was built in 1909, by getting the University of Toronto administration to acknowledge it as a heritage site and withdraw its plans to demolish the building and promote conservation;
Whereas we consider the Margaret Fletcher building, attached to Woodsworth College, our permanent home! It is child-friendly, has an open meeting area, a huge front lot, a kitchen and office/programming space;
Whereas the University of Toronto administration has not offered a suitable alternative permanent space and therefore continues to undermine part-time students.

12. Say "No" to further pension changes
ATL believes modestly-paid education staff deserve good pensions as part of a fair remuneration package with enough income to live independently and with dignity in retirement.
The coalition government plans huge reforms to public sector pensions, potentially telling education professionals:
You must pay more for your pension;
You must work longer before getting it;
You will get less money in retirement;
Say no to paying more, working longer, getting less!
Sign this petition to join ATL in speaking out for pensions; rejecting attempts to force reform on recently reviewed schemes; and telling the coalition government that this triple whammy of change is unacceptable.
13. Gate Maintenance a Must in Stetson Hills
The Stetson Hills CC&R's were written towards the aim of protecting our largest investment -- our homes. The Stetson Hills board of directors does not recognize that allowing unfinished wood on the private access gates of the homes in our community to become blackened over time is a detracting element which is negatively impacting our homes' values. Furthermore, the board does not acknowledge nor recognize that this is in violation of the CC&R's, which is the governing document of our association.
Specifically, the CC&R's brought to bear read as follows:
1.27 "Improvement" means: (a) any Residential Unit, building, fence or wall; (b) any swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, road, driveway, parking area or satellite dish; (c) any trees, plants, shrubs, grass, granite or other landscaping improvements of every type and kind; (d) any statuary, fountain, artistic work, craft work, figurine, ornamentation or embellishment of any type or kind (whether or not affixed to a structure or permanently attached to a Lot or Parcel); and (e) any other structure of any kind or nature.
3.8 Repair of Buildings. No Residential Unit, building, structure or other Improvement on any Lot, Parcel or other property shall be permitted to fall into disrepair and each such Residential Unit, building, structure and other Improvement shall at all times be kept in good condition and repair and adequately painted or otherwise finished.

15. Change The Rules Of The Guiding Association
The background to this petition is to stop the scout and guiding association being sexist.
Point is that girls can go to scouts and do Quazar and paintballing e.t.c so why should girls in the guiding movement not be allowed to do it too? There is no difference. I say bring an end to the sexist behavior in the scouting and guiding movements.
16. Relocate Mail Boxes for Green Acres Property Owners
Green Acres Property Owners' Association has been in effect since 1989. The association mail boxes have been centrally located. Since them many homes have traded ownership. With that in mind the majority of current home owners would like to have their mail box in front of their home instead of a neighborhood central location.
The mail boxes are being temporarily moved anyway because of road shoulder construction. The timing is perfect to make this change.
17. Change the Name of the NAACP to NAAAP
Every since the NAACP started it has used the same old outdated name the " C " should be changed to an " A "
meaning ( ALL ) People.
18. Immigration Law Society at Wash U
The purpose of this petition is to gather enough signatures of currently enrolled law students at Washington University in St. Louis to formally create an Immigration Law Society at Wash U.
The Law School has never had an Immigration Law Society, yet St. Louis is the home of a surprisingly large population of new immigrants and refugees. Immigration is a topic commonly intertwined with employment and labor law, criminal law, health care, international law and foreign policy, among many other areas. The Immigration Law Society at Wash U would allow students to explore immigration law through direct community outreach, local and national speakers, fair-minded debates, contacts with employers and professional organizations, and advocacy and awareness events. Furthermore, the community outreach and volunteer aspect of the organization would provide students another avenue to obtain real-world legal experiences while in school, giving Wash U law students a competitive edge in the job market, even in areas other than immigration.
If you support the creation of this new organization, please help us by signing this petition. Under the Bylaws of the Student Bar Association, a new organization needs at least 10 registered members and twenty student signatures supporting the group’s formation, among other things. Please note in the space provided whether you would like to sign as a "Member" or "Supporter."
Thank you!
19. A hibás expediálásért elítélt brit gyógyszerész támogatásáért
Felfüggesztett börtönbüntetést kapott egy brit gyógyszerész.
Egy helyettesítő gyógyszerész gyógyszerkiadási hiba miatt három hónapos börtönbüntetést kapott 18 hónapra felfüggesztve. A bíró a vádlottra ezen kívül 12 hónapos hatósági felügyeletet rendelt el.
A windsori Elizabeth Lee, aki a Tesco egyik gyógyszertárában dolgozott, helytelenül Propranololt adott ki Predisolone helyett a 72 éves Carmel Sheller-nek, aki három nappal később a kórházban meghalt.
A bíró azonban hozzátette.”
A család emberölési vádat akart
A Brit Gyógyszerészkamara (RPSGB) nyilatkozatában elsődlegesnek tekinti a törvény 64. §-ának olyan irányú módosítását, hogy kikerüljön a gyógyszerek expediálása közben előforduló tévedések büntetésével kapcsolatos szövegrész.
A Gyógyszerész Érdekvédő Egyesület (PDA) álláspontja
Mégis a beváltott receptek nagy számából következően pályafutása során minden gyógyszerész többször is vét hibát.
20. Stop Dog Breeding in our Subdivision
Background:
The Martins at 8116 La Fon Avenue, Zelma Fields Subdivision, in Louisville KY are breeding and selling dogs in their residence basement, garage, and privacy-fenced backyard. On multiple occasions, there have been as many as 6 adult dogs and 10-15 puppies in the backyard of this residence.
The backyard is less than ¼-acre lot, which is adverse to the new Louisville Animal Control ordinance restricting a homeowner to have a minimum of ½ acre of property for 3 dogs. This “business” results in unacceptable noise levels and sanitation concerns.
The noise problem has been addressed to the owners by the neighbors with no correction. The situation was also reported to Louisville Animal Control. When Animal Control responded, the dogs were put in the basement before responding to the door. The privacy fence hides the “business” from the street, but not from the neighbors in the adjoining backyards.
Owners of the adjoining properties in the subdivision must deal with noise, odor, and feces run-off from the dog-yard onto our adjoining properties. Clean up has been observed using a water hose with a spray nozzle to breakdown the dog feces in the yard and driveway. The run-off drains onto the adjoining properties. When the dogs are kept in the basement of the home, is cleanup of the dog breeding area washed into the city sewage and drainage system?
21. In support of a cooperative agreement with Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Assoc.
The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center, is a unique facility in the bustling City of Johns Creek GA. It features 46 acres of forest, woodland trails, winding creek, heritage gardens, historic buildings, and animal exhibits.
The beautiful Autrey Mill of today was built over a 20-year period under the leadership of the non-profit Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Association (AMNP) Board and its talented staff, with the vital help of generous public and private supporters, and by harnessing the indispensable work of volunteers.
With the stability provided by a 30-year lease agreement (originally with Fulton County and now with the City of Johns Creek) AMNP has been able to conduct long-range planning; receive major grants; undertake larger, multi-year projects; and accept donations of heirlooms and important historic items. Operating under this lease, the AMNP Board has provided responsible stewardship of the land and continually made improvements.
On March 11, 2009, the City of Johns Creek took the extraordinary step of suing the AMNP non-profit corporation operated by community volunteers. In its lawsuit the City seeks to invalidate the 30-year lease and seeks control over the historic items that have been donated to AMNP over the years.

23. CCIMLS Public Facing Web Site
THIS PETITION WILL BE CLOSED AT 9:00AM ON TUESDAY DECEMBER 9, 2008 AT WHICH TIME IT WILL BE PREPARED FOR PRESENTATION TO THE CCIAOR/CCIMLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
On Monday November 24, 2008 sixteen members of the Cape Cod and Islands Association of Realtors assembled in Orleans to review the most recent developments of the CCIAOR/CCIMLS websites. Following are some of the questions discussed.
General questions and concerns:
• Did enough planning go into these web sites?
• What are the possible unintended consequences to CCIAOR/CCIMLS members?
• What is the primary objective?
• Whose interests are best served?
• These web sites will make it more difficult for agents to distinguish their Internet services from others.
Sales questions and concerns:
• Prospects may move away from the individual web sites of agents and agencies.
• Prospective buyers have little or no reason to register on a member’s web site.
• CCIAOR/CCIMLS is unfairly using membership dues to compete with the agents for prospect traffic.
• Agent/Agency web site investment of time, effort and treasure is wasted.
Rental questions and concerns:
• A highly publicized web site places the association in competition with the member's sites. Members spend a great deal of time and money on software and SEO. The members now have one more very powerful and strong competitor for rental cutomers.
• Rental listings are mostly non-exclusive. The new web sites will inevitably have the same property listed many times by different agencies with different rate schedules, availability calendars, etc. This will be confusing to the consumers and drive rental prices down.
24. Supporting Strong Libraries in Portland Public Schools
To: Portland Public School Board Members and Portland Public Schools Superintendent
The Oregon Library Association (OLA), the Portland Area Information Literacy Group (P.A.I.L.), and the undersigned Oregon librarians and library media specialists want to express support for libraries, teacher-librarians and library media specialists in all of Portland Public School libraries. The OLA is a statewide association of over 1,000 members composed of academic, public, and special librarians from across Oregon. P.A.I.L. is a group of Portland area librarians from public, school, college and university libraries in the Portland area. We advocate for Information Literacy for all of our library users and students.
P.A.I.L. has met over the last three years and found from the very first conversation that we had a common concern: “Students seeking a post-secondary education lacked the requisite knowledge to do high quality research using the multitude of resources available in today’s modern library.” From our discussions we discovered that support for professional teacher-librarians and library media specialist (LMS) in Portland Public Schools had been waning over the years. It was a stunning epiphany for all, especially the college librarians.
We write to you in support of staffing your school libraries with professional librarians and support staff, providing equal and equitable access to both a qualified librarian and a professionally developed library collection. The role of administering a library program and library media center also involves someone who is an expert in curriculum and provides high quality resources teachers and students need. Research has consistently shown that school librarians and strong libraries correlate strongly with student success and retention. They also prepare students to succeed in post-secondary schooling and to become critical thinkers and well-informed citizens.
We understand that you recently created a new position in the district, one that can help to renew the role of librarians and school libraries across your district, and we applaud your acknowledgement to address this need. We wish to encourage your continuous efforts to bring Portland Public School libraries into the 21st century, and to become the leader for school libraries in Oregon.

Coordinator of the Portland Area Information Literacy Group

25. Removal of polygraph examinations from Law Enforcement Aplication Process
A list of legitimate scientific groups that have official statements condemning the polygraph is extensive.
It includes the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, the Federation of American Scientists, and the Society of Professional Scientists and Engineers.
Even most government officials who support the polygraph do not maintain that the process is valid. They merely claim that the polygraph should remain because it "encourages admissions."
This same convoluted logic could also be used to defend physical beatings if they were a part of the hiring process.
26. Laurelwood Vista Heights HOA Fee Increase Dispute
We the People of Laurlewood Vista Heights HOA sign this petition in support to lower our monthly association Dues.
28. SAVE WORKERS IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY
SUPPORT THE STRUGGLE OF CONTRACT WORKERS AGAINST EXPLOITATION
BY HOLCIM IN CHHATTISGARH
Chhattishgarh is a mineral rich state that provides perfect opportunity to produce cement at most competitive prices. Raipur- Bilaspur belt provides the best location where both man and material is available cheaply. Government of Chhattisgarh gave lots of concessions with intentions that it will help in creating employment and contribute to the welfare of the people of the state. This resulted in mushroom growth of the cement industries in the area. Ultratech, Grasim, Century, Ambuja and Lafarge have come up with huge capacities in this belt. HOLCIM a Swiss based multinational has appeared on the scene by acquiring the ACC, AMBUJA etc.
Even though the natural mineral resources are exploited by those companies at a throw away prices, land forcibly acquired from the farmers at the cost of tears, Corporate cement companies are busy playing dirty games by not even respecting the rehabilitation package, as many of those land losers have been shown the exit door.
Very recently, it has come to light that few major companies have formed a cartel, resulting in abnormal hike in cement prices. Ten major cement producing companies are already served notices to that effect by the authorities.
As if this is not enough, the cartel is now busy to systematically exploit labours by squeezing them to exploit in a unified manner, which is a very serious matter.
Even "Cement Wage Board" agreement in force in the Indian cement industry which is the result of negotiations between the All India Cement Manufacturers Association and a group of central trade unions in the cement industry, which has been ratified from time to time, is not honored.
According to this agreement, contract labour is prohibited in the entire production process in the cement industry all over India, and even in the limited areas in which it is permitted - such as the loading and unloading of raw materials, contract labour are to paid at the same wage rate as regular employees.
Holcim, Lafarge, Century, and Ultratech have formed the Chhattisgarh Cement Manufacturers Association (CCMA). This Association has challenged the very jurisdiction of the State Government to make a reference in the first place, vide a writ petition before the Hon’ble Chattishgarh High Court, challenging the notification dated 31/12/60 bringing the cement industry under the purview of the MPIR Act, after more than 45 years! It is shocking to learn that the cartel has even managed to influence the concerned Respondent officer of the Central Government to support their case. If the CCMA succeeds in its conspiracy, it will intensify the attack against the already beleaguered working class of Chhattisgarh.
We appeal to all who feel strongly about this kind of exploitative stranglehold of big corporations - particularly foreign multinationals, to support the effort of the struggling contract workers in the cement industry in Chhattisgarh. Join the campaign against Holcim, Lafarge and Ultratech by exposing their misdeeds against workers, by signing the online petition and also declare your solidarity with Pragatisheel Cement Shramik Sangh C/o Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha Office. 29. Give accessibility to the Physically Disabled People of Pakistan
Barrier to accessibility is a Social/Legal Discrimination of the Physically Disabled People.
As most of the outlets have a flight of steep high stairs for accessibility and almost all the physically disabled people couldn’t reach these outlets in a wheel chair, walker, or crutches, this is a Social/Legal Discrimination of the Physically Disabled People.
Two proposals have been forwarded to our local Brandon Youth Hockey Association (BYHA) to request the formation of a stand alone AA Female Midget hockey team for the upcoming 2007 - 2008 season.
Both proposals have been declined as an earlier survey of midget aged potential families suggested that there was not enough support to warrant a team. At the time of the survey very little information was known about what a stand alone team may look like and what type of schedule and costs would be involved.
A group of individuals with girls involved in Midget hockey would like the opportunity to hold tryouts for a stand alone team and offer detailed information as to what a stand alone AA team scheudle and costs would look like to those interested in playing at this level.
Tryouts would be held at the earliest possible time in September. Potentially the week players return to school.
