Even though marriage rates in the United States are declining, unmarried couples in the United States are not offered the same rights as those who are married.
Whether they choose not to marry, or simply are not allowed to by law, they are considered unequal to married couples.

My name is Laura Watts. I am starting this petition for all of the people renting an apartment in the Trilling Ave. complex.
I am starting this petition to get the attention of the owners whom don't like to do their jobs or listen to any complaints of their residents. I am trying to prove my point that my family and I are not the only ones who have problems in these apartments.

6. Rights of parents to be notified of killed in action deaths
My son was k.i.a. on July 22, 07. His father was notified but I wasn't, his paperwork didn't even have me on it.
Due to a major indifference and a nasty divorce with his father his stepmother was identified herself as his natural mother so all his documents had her name on them. So as far as anyone knew she was his mother.
After 2 wks. of paperwork and providing his birth cert. and other records they have since been changed. But as I see it unless a child is adopted the paperwork should have space for both parents and room for step if the case calls for it.
7. A Petition to Boycott British newspapers
This petition has arisen as a consequence of the biased and one-sided reporting emanating from most sectors of the British press.
We the British public feel that you are not voicing either our concerns or our opinions with respect to the McCann case. We are fed up of the press presenting a slanted and incorrect depiction of the opinions of many, many members of the public. As a consequence we now intend to stop buying your newspapers until you decide to report the McCann matter in a more judicious way.
Not everyone believes that leaving children alone in a hotel room was the correct course of action.
Each Year Hundreds of thousands of horses are slaughtered in United States and are transported to Canada for inhumane consumption.
Wild horses, ponies, race horses, pleasure horses, sick, old, even healthy are all unwanted or no longer needed will be slaughtered because owners demands change.
Sold through auctions horses will then be sold from the killer buyers by the pound.
The fatter and bigger the horse it's chances are at higher risk to go for meat.
The horses are then packed in double decker trucks which should only be used for pigs and cattle.
The ceilings do not meet there needs as they are to low for the horses to lift there heads comfortably.
The horses being transported for slaughter are not properly rested, fed or given water.
The long rides are approx 36 sometimes more.
Alot of times when the driver reaches his destination most of the exhausted horses end up being injured or dead from cramming too many horses in the trucks.
The dead ones end up being left behind.
The law states that horses be unconcious before having this awful practice done but in most cases that doesn't happen.
Many investigators have witnessed horses still consious and were improperly stunned.
Usually with a device called a captive bolt gun which shoots a metal rod in to the horses brain.
The conditions in the slaughter house are stressful and frightning.
France, Holland, Mexico, Europe, and Japan are just some of the countries that eat horse.
The over breeding such as race horses and pleasure horses has got to stop it has made a higher risk for slaughter.
In the states 92.3% of horses are still in good condition alot of people lie and state there sick, old, or injured but again thats not always the case.
Owners selling there school horses or ponies to auctions are not always aware what happens after they are sold.
Do you really know where there going?
I don't get horse people any more once there horse gets sick or can't do the job anymore the owners give up on them people should be ashamed of them selves and wake up and realize whats happening.
These horses were not meant for meat.
These living loving animals have done so much for us like win the race bred beautiful foals.
They all deserve a second chance and better lives for people to love them for them instead of being sent for slaughter.
These horses suffer a painful death.
I believe there's a home for every horse out there.
My heart will never stop until this ends in happiness for them.
If I can save one horse I made a difference.
9. DOG CONTROL ON LOMAS DE LOS MONTEROS
Lomas de los Monteros currently is at risk from some dog owners are not community minded and allow their dogs to run free (danger), swim in the pool and leave their mess in public areas (Unhygienic).
10. Get Davy out of Huddersfield Town Football Club!
Questions asked to Ken Davy are "Where is our money going?" Huddersfield Town had a target to be in the top 30 clubs come 2008.
Unfortunatly this is an un-realistic target now with HTFC been a mid table team in League 1! After plenty of fans insist for answers Ken Davy cannot do anything but lie and lie! Are Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants been run seperatly? Davy insists they are, but everyone knows its a lie! Ken Davy stated "They [the fans wondering where Huddersfield Town's money is going] insist on creating an atmosphere which is potentially damaging to Huddersfield Town Football Club."
But surely when fans come to watch their team week in week out they deserve proper answers? When they are spending money on watching Huddersfield Town, who are not acheiving, surely they deserve to know where the money is really going?
Answers are not coming and not going to come because Davy has thrown our money away! Get him out!
11. High School Parking for Juniors
As the Town of Agawam expands so does the number of families. The high school parking lot needs to increase in size as to allow for the number of students that need to park.
One can see that each year the number of students increases and we need to increase our parking spaces to accomodate this.
Until then we need to allow any available spaces to be given to juniors who meet a certain criteria.

To this day the Women Still Constantly Wear Shorter skirts than on any other network! My Theory is they obviously are not wearing them anymore for the FNC Viewers, But for the Bosses in an attempt to gain bigger Raises!
They are Not Fair and Balanced in the News and They Sure as Hell are now Fair and Balanced By Giving Women More Studio Shots and Studio Guest Time!

EXcentrique, or Yara, is currently a moderator at ImNotOkay, or INO. It is an MCR fansite which is home to a lot of very humorous, great people.
We the people have decided that Yara is too harsh on the boards. Not only is she very harsh, but she has been acting very cruel to other members. This girl is also a hypocrite. She said there should be a rule against "attacking other members" when she herself has done this before.
She also locks fanfiction threads, which are NOT supposed to be locked unless there is a reasonable reason. A bit of spam in a story thread is NOT a reasonable reason.
We are not trying to ban her, but simply demote her to a regular INO civilian, as we feel that she does not qualify to be a moderator.
14. Teach Intelligent Design in US Schools
Few people realize that intelligent design is a science. It is a theory just as evolution is. However schools are not allowed to teach intelligent design, but they are allowed to teach evolution.
Students in our schools are only being exposed to one possible theory on the most primitive questions about our existence. Isn't it the duty of our schools to present students with the information they need to form their own conclusions? How can they be fulfilling their responsibilities if they are not allowed to teach intelligent design?
I personally am a Christian and believe that the theory of intelligent design is true, however my opinion on whether or not the theory of intelligent design is true is irrelevant.
If the theory of evolution is allowed to be taught despite its flaws, then intelligent design should also be taught in our public schools.

Most schools these days have rules saying that children are not allowed to chew gum in a classroom. However statistics show that memory improves by almost 15% more than when you are not chewing gum.

I have created this petition to make the slaughter of horses illegal in the UK. Most horses destined for slaughter are sold at livestock auctions or sales. The cruelty of horse slaughter is not limited to the act of killing the animals. Horses bound for slaughter are shipped, frequently for long distances, in a manner that fails to accommodate their unique temperaments. They are usually not rested, fed, or watered during travel.
Economics, not humane considerations, dictate the conditions, including crowding as many horses into trucks as possible.
Often, terrified horses and ponies are crammed together and transported to slaughter in double-deck trucks designed for cattle and pigs. The truck ceilings are so low that the horses are not able to hold their heads in a normal, balanced position. Inappropriate floor surfaces lead to slips and falls, and sometimes even trampling.
Some horses arrive at the slaughterhouse seriously injured or dead. Although transportation accidents have largely escaped public scrutiny, several tragic ones involving collapsed upper floors and overturned double-deckers have caused human fatalities as well as suffering and death for the horses.
Before slaughter horses are supposed to be rendered unconscious prior to slaughter, usually with a device called a captive bolt gun, which shoots a metal rod into the horse's brain. Some horses, however, are improperly stunned and may still be conscious when they are hoisted by a rear leg to have their throats cut. In addition, conditions in the slaughterhouse are stressful and frightening for horses.
Horses of virtually all ages and breeds are slaughtered, from draft types to miniatures. Horses commonly slaughtered include unsuccessful race horses, horses who are lame or ill, surplus riding school and camp horses, mares whose foals are not economically valuable, and foals who are "byproducts" of the Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) industry, which produces the estrogen-replacement drug Premarin®. Ponies, mules, and donkeys are slaughtered as well.
Many of the horses that are purchased for slaughter were in good health, and bought for only a few hundred pounds.
The owners are often totally unaware of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.
17. Cell phone use while driving should be illegal
More and more people everyday use cell phones. There is nothing wrong with cell phones and because of our expanding technology they have become more common.
18. ATV'S should be allowed on road shoulders
LAKESHORE TOWN COUNCIL HAD RECENTLY BEGAN TO ADDRESS ALLOWING ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE PERMISSION TO TRAVEL ON THE GRAVEL SHOULDERS OF THE COUNTY SIDE ROADS. AT THE LAST TOWN COUNCIL MEETING THE BY-LAW COMMITTEE STATED THAT THE OPP ARE OPPOSED TO BY LAW BUT THEY ARE ADDRESSING SAFETY ISSUES INVOLVING TRAVELLING ON PAVED ROAD WAYS. ATV ARE NOT EQUIPTED FOR ROAD TRAVEL DUE TO THINGS SUCH AS LACK OF REAR VIEW / SIDE MIRRORS AND TYPE OF TIRES WHICH MAY EFFECT THE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS. WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR ATV TO BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL THE HIGHWAYS BUT THE SHOULDERS OF THE CONCESSION ROADS.
19. LEAVE THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE AS IT IS !!
After the Football League and Coca Cola launched it's ludacrous new names for the new coming season, I feel it's in our best interests to send a warning out that the fans of Football League clubs are not happy and want things left as they are.
20. Against the proposal to place bus stop on Bowes Road
We, the residents of Bowes Road object to the placing of a bus stop outside our residence.
We believe it will cause disturbances to our quiet and peaceful neighbourhood as well as encouraging more crime from people who are not from this neighbourhood i.e. young children.
Anothe reason why we are not happy about this new proposal is because it will reduce the market value of our properties and make the houses in front of the bus stop look unattractive.
This is our proposal that we have put forward to yourselves in the hope that you will recognise the clear distress the residents are feeling regarding this matter.
We would like to point out that the residents do not object to having a bus stop on Bowes Road, but we simply believe that placing it here is not necessary as there is plenty of space to place it elsewhere.

23. Keep ferrets off the list of proposed exotic animal ban in Chicago!
There is a proposed ordinance in Chicago that might make owning a ferret in Chicago illegal. We can't have this. Ferrets are not dangerous, do not carry monkeypox or rabies, and are the third most popular pet just behind dogs and cats! This ordinance needs to remove ferrets from the list.
This petition is drawn up to better support the children by increasing child support. We would like child support to be increased to a minimum of $100 for fathers that are/ are not working and/or receiving a source of income of at least $300 per month. Therefore, some fathers may decide to work instead of depending on state or federal assistance because of the decrease in income. This will be putting more money into society and creating more jobs.
25. Ban the Selling of Pet Shop Puppies
We are most concerned at the increase of puppies and dogs being sold throughout Petshops in New Zealand. The numbers are increasing dramatically and some Breeders in NZ appear to be breeding for the Pet Shop Market and puppies being sold for huge amounts of money.
Not enough information is being given out re the Breeds of dogs, the sizes they grow to, the care they need, a suitable environment or contact with people in the same Breeds.
Many of these dogs once grown are being dumped into Rescue organisations or left to wander the streets until impounded. There are many horror stories and we are becoming aware of more.
We are also concerned about health issues with the puppies, after hearing of many cases with puppies being sold with fatal viruses or congenital diseases, usually unbeknown to the purchaser.
A Pet shop is not a suitable environment to sell a puppy from. There is not enough people contact, no training can be given and one of our worst concerns is what happens to the puppies who are not sold after 3 months of age?
We feel there are enough unwanted puppies and dogs in New Zealand, without Pet Shops adding to the problem by encouraging backyard breeders and puppy farmers to mate their bitch with the dog down the road, to produce some puppies to sell to the local petshop. These puppies are then sold on with no background checks on the new owners, no property inspections and no investigation into the suitability of the new owner for the breed.
We find it hard to understand why any dog breeder would place their puppies into Petshops to onsell and the only reason has to be monetary....
MAF has guidelines on the Selling of Companion Animals but we are aware that these are not being adhered to in alot of cases and are very hard for MAF and the SPCA to police.
This petition gives you a chance to express your feelings on the subject of puppies/dogs being sold through Petshops.
26. Abolish Mandated Uniform Policies in Public School
Let me begin by saying that we are not fundamentally against uniforms. We are against uniforms being mandated in public free schools. Private schools are not part of this petition, as they are private and can make their own rules. You do not have to attend a private school if you do not agree with their policies, you do have to attend a public school. This policy is not only a direct violation of First Amendment rights to free expression, it violates a parent's right to decide, individually, what is best for their child and their family. The decision of some parents to send their children to school in uniform is not the problem. The fact that their decision is being imposed on our child without our permission is the problem. Children are being punished and shunned because of minor violations of these uniform policies. In most cases, the selling point of a uniform policy was to avoid this problem, yet it is now being taught and practiced by the educators themselves. The education of our children has eroded terribly in this country. Yet time and effort is being wasted on whether or not a child's clothing is the right color, or whether or not they are wearing the correct fashion accessory. We need to stop allowing ours, and our childrens' rights to freedom to be so easily taken away.

28. Amazon.com Sellers' Grievances
It appears that Amazon.com is headed for becoming a greed-based .com industry that is smashing down the sellers. We are forming this petition to make them aware of the following practices that they are currently doing on line.
1. Allowing "Lowest Price" to be attached to the lowest price. WE DO NOT WANT THAT ON THERE.
2. Allowing sellers to sell their books for 1 cent. There should be a minimum ammt. for each book in terms of asking price as most of us not all on here for a tax right off and cannot compete with those who want ALL the business.
3. For Amazon.com marketplace taking the first .99 cents plus 15 % plus part of the shipping money is greed-based. A lot of the books on Amazon are sold for under $10.00.
4. In terms of Z Shops we are paying almost $40.00 per month and we are not even getting the listings out of the data base within your system and onto the site. They are being listed as "listings pending" for long periods of time.
5. You are giving buyers not only free shipping but if they buy something for $50.00 in your kitchen department you give them $30.00 free. How can we compete with that.???
6. Now you merge with other bookseller companies and most of us on here have no idea of what you are doing....merging with Alibris and Abe.....What are we to think when our sales fall like this?????

29. SMOKERS, TAKE BACK YOUR DIGNITY!
What began as a drive to hold Big Tobacco accountable for its perceived "sins" has become a war on one in four American citizens who choose to smoke. With vilification, ostracization, demonization and oppressive taxes, we have been selected for discrimination based on lies and shoddy science. It must stop.
30. Boycott Vanity Fair Corporation Products
HELP WORKERS IN SUPPORTING THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES
Recently the VF Corporation that manufactures brands such as Lee, Wrangler, Bestform, Lily of France, JanSport, Eastpak, North Face, Jantzen, Red Kap and many others(http://www.vfc.com/pages/leading_brands.asp) decided to lay off approximately 1,800 workers from their factories in El Paso.
These factories are the last of the garment industry on the El Paso side of the border-- leaving a capable and experienced workforce jobless, with no benefits, no time for transition and little hope of finding other jobs. It is a workforce primarily composed of women, who due to discriminatory corporate and state practices do not fit the "retraining prototype".
There is reason to suspect Vanity Fair intends to close these factories completely (http://www.vfc.com/pr/pr73.asp). This means the VF Corporate plan will eventually leave five thousand families of Mexican origin without economic support, and at the same time take advantage low wages in Latin America. Faced with no other opportunities, the workforce on the U.S. side of the border will likely be forced into sweatshop conditions.
However, Vanity Fair workers in El Paso are not voiceless. They are fighting the "political system". They have also formed committees in the different Vanity Fair factories to negotiate with the Corporation. So far the corporation has ignored their requests. Because there must be corporate accountability, they urgently ask for your help.
Please sign their petition boycotting Vanity Fair Merchandise until a more just plan can be agreed on. The public must unite its economic and political strength to demand justice.
