61. degrassi episode "accidents will happen"
July 8, 2005
I am making this petition because ALOT of people in the USA want to see a certain Degrassi episode that they only showed/will show in Canada.
The episode is called "Accidents Will Happen", and there is 2 parts to it, and this show only comes on The-N which u can get only if u have the sattelite and there is 2 parts to it. In this episode a character gets pregnant and ends up having an abortion.
The USA will not show it beause she has an abortion!
ABORTION IS NOT WRONG!!! you are not killing a person. it is a fetus! not a fully developed person. abortion is 100% eithical and right.
If a woman is not fit to take care of a baby and does not want to put htis baby up for adoption because some of the kids that get put up for adoption never get adopted she has 100% her choice to abort the fetus.
What about for women who are raped? or in cases of incest? these women do not wnat their babies
Would you rather have a child brought into the world where it is unwanted and it's mother probably isn't prepared to take care of a child? No its just silly - it is not the goverment's choice or any of your orginization choices. It's the mother's choice.
You dont have to get an abortion if you dont want to but it is compeltely ethical and necsssary.
Ok well i want to make a petition to ban abortion because it is murder a fetus is alive it grows feeds moves and has all the criteria of a person and to kill an person would be classified as murder so what makes it ok for people to take an babies life when it clearly wasn't the fetuses fault it was conceived who decided it should be right to murder children who decs we should be able to kill our future generations.
64. Degrassi: the abortion episodes
The N, the cable network here in the United States which airs the Canadian television show Degrassi:Then Next Generation, is refusing to air the first two episodes of the new season. Due to the nature of the episodes, in which Manny, 15, becomes pregnant with Craig's, 16, baby and decides that abortion is the way to go. Although it is a touchy subject, it is also a very real subject for today's youth. The show has dealt with sexuality, rape, cutting, child abuse, death and drug abuse, among other topics.
Pregnancy, abortion and the side effects of both, only seem like the next step for the show. With this petetion, we hope to show The N, that there is a need to show these ommited episodes.
Abortion is killing people, so if murder is illegal then abortion should be illegal. These babies don't even get a chance in the world and if you don't want kids than don't have sex!
66. Pro-Life: A Stand Against Abortion
Abortion is one of the most immoral acts that could be done to a human person. As Christians we say we care about God, humanity, and even ourselves so we must work to stop it. No one needs to sacrifice, spend a dollar or suffer to help these innocents. All we need is your vote against this or any other acts involving abortion and Pro-choice.
The ultimate pro-life goal is quite direct and very simple. Pro-lifers want an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, to the Canadian Charter of Rights that will give equal protection under the law, to all living humans from the time their biologic life begins at conception until natural death. Understanding that such a goal remains yet in the future, pro-life people have an intermediate goal. It is a Constitutional Amendment returning the right to make decisions about abortion to each individual state in the U.S. and the equivalent in Canada to each individual province. This would take federal judges out of the mix completely, and make legislating on abortion a state's issue. States and provinces could then allow abortion, forbid it, or anything in between.
Since the above intermediate goals also remain yet unattainable, pro-life forces today are seeking more immediate goals, particularly so in the United States. These include parental notification and consent for abortion for minor daughters; specific public health regulation of free-standing abortion facilities; women's right to know, or informed consent laws; forbidding of certain types of abortions (such as brain suction or partial birth abortions); forbidding of abortions for certain reasons, such as sex selection and after a certain age of fetal development.
Certain allied issues can also be legislated such as forbidding destructive live fetal experimentation.
Freedom of conscience can be guaranteed, both for individuals and for institutions. Laws to ban the use of tax monies for elective abortions have been the first line of attack for pro-lifers, but much yet can still be done. There are many avenues where federal monies have been given to pro-abortion organizations. A major ex-ample is family planning which includes abortion as a method of family planning. Government support for institutions that have encouraged and referred for abortions could be terminated and such monies redirected to those that support women before, during, and after birth.

67. Support of Congressman Norwood
Supporting Congressman Charlie Norwood's view on the displaying of the phrase, "In God We Trust" and his stand against partial-birth abortion. We also support his strong faith.
68. No to Abortion and Prostitution
For years, I have listened to the arguements to keep abortion legal, because "a woman should have a right to control her own body". Being the fair minded person that I am, I believe that the logical next step should be to legalize prostition, "because a woman should have the right to do as she chooses, with her own body."
69. Allow Abortion!
Since Republicans have been in office, the US has seen several abortion clinics shut down due to funding cuts. Abortion should bean option for those who feel it is neccessary.
We should take the time to education women whoa re considering abortions on all the side effects it will have, but regardless, it should be an option for them. If someone is against abortion, they don't have to have one, but who is our government to decide whether or not abortions should be legal?
I strongly support president Bush and everything he is doing for this country, but until he becomes a scared and pregnant woman considering abortion, he shouldn't touch this issue and should not be cutting the funds for abortions, making them harder to get.
Abortion has been legal for over 20 years and we need to keep it that way. I understand how Pro Life activists feel but... abortions will continue to take place whether or not they are legal. With that said it only makes sense that they be available in a clean, sterile and safe environment performed by a professional.
71. ABOLISH LIVE BIRTH ABORTIONS

72. Boycott Against All Abortion-Permissive Political Parties
Abortion is the greatest horror ever seen by humanity. If we care about God, humanity, or even ourselves we must work to stop it. The means are readily available and very easy. No one needs to “lift a finger”, spend a dollar, or suffer in any way to help these innocents. All that is required is for us to do, assuming that we continue to vote, is decide that we will never again vote for abortion.
The scale of the carnage certainly screams out for action, at least to those who have a conscience to hear it. Consider this: 3,025 people died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust. 15 million people (troops + civilians) died in the First World War, and 50 million died in the Second World War (over six years).
Abortion, however, kills 46 million people every single year, making it the greatest slaughter of humans ever known on earth. And unlike the other horror mentioned, mass voluntary abortion is not merely historical, but, as of the time of this writing, is still heavily ongoing today. Unlike the other horrors, there are still relatively few people working to stop the legality of elective abortions.
We, as living humans, also “continue” today. This is our issue, our time, and our responsibility. We often wonder how peoples of the past stood by and did nothing while Christians were thrown to lions, slaves were traded, Jews were lethally gassed, and Rwandans were massacred. Similarly the Angels must wonder at us over this issue of abortion: they witness that we were all fetuses once, yet we would deny the humanity of fetuses, or that they deserve rights; we stand around while they are butchered in ways so cruel it would be certainly be illegal if it was done to animals.
We also have the advantage of learning from the other horrors of history; this is all the more reason why we have an urgent responsibility to stop this one. We cannot turn a blind eye and be guiltless. Nor is it easy to say we did much good with our lives if we ignore this issue.
It is a murder so horrible. The developing baby has only its mother and the Law to protect it, but neither are doing that. It has no weapons, no chance of escape, no one to appeal to for help, and no one to defend it when it is being ripped apart. It dies never having known any love.
The mothers actually bring their own babies in, voluntarily, to be killed! Therefore besides being execution of innocent people, abortion is an absolute betrayal of the sacred mother-child bond which is seen throughout Creation. It is perhaps the most evil thing a person could possibly do, yet it is perfectly legal and proudly defended in our politics today!
There is great power in the vote, and many lives were sacrificed so that we could have this right. But it is a power often misused by the common people, who seem to rarely vote according to their beliefs, and then wonder why the country is out of step with their beliefs. Even worse, many do not feel any personal responsibility for their vote, evidenced by the fact that many voters do not even vote at all (see http://www.idea.int/vt/survey/voter_turnout_pop2.cfm; eg. only 48% voter turnout in the USA).
Unfortunately those who do act to criminalize abortion have long been duped into voting for political parties which vaguely hint that they are against abortion, but which actually do nothing to stop it when they are in power. It is a situation where we are lead to feel like we are accomplishing something, but nothing good actually gets accomplished.
No more! We of conscience must make it our primary issue when we give any political support. Under no circumstances will we any more support any political party which refuses to criminalize elective abortion, or which even hesitates to do so. We will not be content with “baby steps” that actually go nowhere. We will no longer be toyed with. This is an urgent and terrible issue!
We will not abandon the voting booth; our vote and chance will not be wasted. We will not surrender, but act. We will find and support somebody else, even if we have to resort to minor political parties not normally mentioned in the news. We will, at the same time, voice our displeasure so that no one has to guess at the reason for it. Then the message will be clear and we will have made a real difference.
This is a boycott; a very powerful political tool that would stop abortion as soon as it starts in almost every nation of the world. After all, there are few nations in the world not vastly (eg. 85%) dominated by some combination of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists. Abortion is fundamentally against all of these religions. If even a quarter of them would boycott parties which allow abortion to be legal, the political force would be so great as to stop abortion before the next election. Wherever there are people who have a heart and a conscience, there is a way to stop this horror.
But we do not refuse to vote against abortion only for the sake of the unborn. There are so many other important reasons. For one thing, do you really want people who have no regard for innocent human life ruling over you? That's what happens when you vote-in abortion-loving political parties. Imagine what other atrocities such people are capable of! Under their rule, who can be safe? There is also the issue of our eternity to consider: our Judgment before God, and the eternal record of the right or wrong we did or failed to do. Do we want to die having done nothing about this issue? It would be like living in Europe in World War II and deciding to “go along with” the Nazis and their arrest and murder of Jewish people. Would that have been something to be proud of? Are you “going along with” abortion? Is that what you want your life to be like? You don't have to be a mediocre person. You have a choice and a chance to make a difference, and be someone who has real values and acts on them.
Social change it not hard to achieve; it only needs people to take an interest. As you go through your day, and all the things you care about, and all the things on the news, ask yourself how many of them are more important and urgent than the issue of abortion. You will quickly see that society is distracted from the things that are most important.
You do not have to answer for society, but you will eventually have to answer for yourself. Abortion is an atrocity of historical proportions and historical responsibility, whether that is realized today or not. You have to decide whether you want your name recorded in eternity as someone who was part of it, someone who didn't care, or someone who stood against it.
May God the Creator richly Bless all those who sign, implement, and propagate this boycott. Furthermore, may the names signed on this petition be an eternal testament of their innocence of the blood of the unborn.
73. Pledge to Vote Against Abortion
Abortion is the murder of absolutely innocent human beings for the sake of human irresponsibility and sensuality.
It is the worst holocaust ever seen on earth, in terms of numbers, in terms of the innocence of the victims, and in terms of the betrayal of kin.
Those who fight against abortion have long been suckered into voting for political parties which vaguely promise to do something but actually do nothing.
Therefore we will make it our primary issue when we cast our vote. We absolutely refuse to vote for any political party which will permit abortion to continue. Furthermore we will not throw up our hands and not vote; we will vote AGAINST abortion at every opportunity.
This is not at all futile. It is, in fact, THE way to stop abortion; the only way. At least in western nations, which have a clear Christian majority (eg. 75%), if every Christian would vote against abortion it would have to stop immediately.
Therefore their blood is on Christian hands also.
Please commit yourself to this pledge and put it into action in your life. You can be sure that political parties which don't care about the unborn, these innocent, don't have enough heart to care about you, either. You are not losing anything.
Please help stop this worst holocaust the world has ever seen. Don't be an accessory to murder. Be an accessory to mercy.
