Alcohol-wine beer and liquors are classified as class 1 Carcinogen's with worldwide Cancer groups-Health groups-Doctor's and many other health professionals and advocates all urging comprehensive strategies to reduce the diseases and social costs linked to Alcohol.

Alcohol is a major risk factor for a number of cancers including breast cancer, mouth, throat, liver and colon.

It is linked to over 60 diseases/200 conditions, including FASD which is 100 % preventable and we believe is a major children's rights violation that has been neglected and even increased due to Government policies of increasing alcohol availability.

We believe it is time to change this devastating culture and promote healthy living and avoiding Alcohol/drugs. Similar awareness and action which has been very successful in reducing smoking. This affects everyone and the costs far exceed any revenues. Whether you choose to drink or not we believe this is in the best interests for public health and safety. If for no other reason let's do it for our children and their children's future.

Thank you.

We request the Government of Canada to coordinate all Provinces, Healthcare, and health professionals, along with community partners, to develop a comprehensive National strategy to reduce Alcohol consumption.

End self regulation that exists and replace it with new Alcohol policies and regulations that focus on minimizing consumption along with awareness, prevention, education and sustained action promoting healthy living.
