In March 2012 the Welcome to Totnes sign was vandalised and the words "Twinned with Vire" were replaced with "Twinned with Narnia".
Devon County Council has ignored this illegal graffiti.
We, the people of Totnes, demand Devon County Council's Highways Department returns the Totnes road sign on Ashburton Road to it's proper state.
We do not live through a fairy tale wardrobe, and the portrayal of our town as a fictional utopia makes Totnes a laughing stock around the country, thereby damaging tourism and alienating many thousands of local residents.
Please remove this illegal graffiti forthwith.
