Boycott Walmart until they develop a community action plan for restoring sustainable businesses in our area

This petition is to gain support of the community in order to organize a boycott of the Walmart stores in the city of Wichita Ks.

The only way to gain a stage and sway big corporations from taking advantage of low income communities is by making sure that our dollars and patronage is earned. It should not be forced by invading our communities and running all the existing neighborhood grocers and businesses out of the community so that there are no options other than spending your hard earned dollars at their Superstores. Boycotts are the only language that they understand when it affects their bottom line.

Walmart came into the community with the promise of Jobs, Fresh Produce, competitive prices and revitalization of the neighborhood. They opened the store April 25th of 2012. Now less than 4 years later they are closing the Neighborhood Market.

This has happened after creating the demise of several businesses including a neighborhood grocery and pharmacy that serviced this community for several years even through economic instability. This leaves the community with no other options than to travel outside the community to patronize their Super Stores. This cannot be unaddressed or tolerated.
