* We, the Parkway area Muslims and other community members, have reviewed the proposed sex education curriculum on tinyurl.com/pkwysexed
and lesson plans.
* We affirm the current Abstinence Based curriculum.
* We oppose the newly proposed Comprehensive Sexuality Education.
* We urge the Parkway School Board of Education to vote “No” on the proposed changes to the sex education curriculum on March 9, 2016.
We, the Parkway area Muslims and other community members, are thankful for the excellent education Parkway provides our children. We affirm our desire to see every Parkway student enjoy the benefits of life-long sexual integrity.
We believe that these wonderful benefits are given to us by God. We have reviewed the proposed sex education curriculum on tinyurl.com/pkwysexed and lesson plans.
We affirm the current Abstinence Based curriculum. We oppose the proposed Comprehensive Sexuality Education, especially inclusion of topics such as:
* High risk sexual behaviors at inappropriate age levels
* Confusing topics about matters of identity at an impressionable age
* Failing to teach about the many benefits of marriage
* Failing to emphasize the danger of pornography
* Using source materials that promote all sexual lifestyles and behaviors as well as minimize tradition values
We urge the Parkway School Board of Education to vote “No” on the proposed changes to the sex education curriculum on March 9, 2016.
