The University of Liverpool has an investment portfolio worth millions of pounds. Its investments are managed by fund managers in accordance with the University’s Policy on Socially Responsible Investments.

The current SRI Policy can be viewed at http://www.lgos.org/epwg/content/index.php?page=104645

I the undersigned disagree with the University of Liverpool’s current investment practices. I believe that the University’s Socially Responsible Investment policy is insufficient because it does not restrict investment in industries that have a negative impact on our society and world.

I support a reform of university policy and believe the University should:

1.Challenge corporate conduct that harms humans, animals and the environment.

2.Establish an ethical investment committee to oversee all investments.

3.Be open, transparent and engage with the University community with regard to investment by making information available on request.

4.Use its position on the board of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) pension fund and the University of Liverpool Pension Fund (ULPF) to lobby for ethical investment in these organisations.
