Drug addicts (crack heads), thieves, alcoholics, wife beaters, murderers, schizophrenics, sociopath, and bi-polar are not required to register to let the people that live around them know that they are there...Or their employer. But...Sex offenders do. The only thing that the above have to do is report to a probation or parole officer.
Sex offender's on the other hand are put in the local paper, post cards are sent out and the law does and will not defend them when they are being harassed, ect. I have to say that I would much rather be informed of a murderer or drug addict living next door to me rather than a sex offender. Not to mention the drug addicts who manufacturer it, have AIDS, and who knows what else.
Drug addicts, thieves, alcoholics (drunk drivers), wife beaters, murderers, schizophrenics, sociopath, bi-polar, and criminally insane do not have to "register" and let their community know that they are living in the surrounding area. But yet sex offenders do. With sex offenders they send out post cards, put their picture in the paper...ect.,ect.,
I have to say that I would much rather know about the murderer or crack head living beside me than the registered sex offender who had sex with a consenting teen. None the less, a manufacturer of methamphetamines.
