Ulley Wind Farm Action Group was established in June 2008 after Banks Developments proposed the construction of six 2 - 3.3 megawatt wind turbines to green belt farm land near the villages of Aston, Ulley, Brampton-en-le-Morthern, Thurcroft, Aughton, Wickersley, Whiston, Treeton and Catcliffe.

The group are not against responsible renewable energy programmes and have the full support of residents all around the area. Please consider the following issues:

1. An inefficient and more costly way to provide electricity to the national grid.

2. The cost of your electricity will increase.

3. Corus major steel manufacturer recently said wind turbines will not supply a regular enough source of energy for industry.

4. Expect a reduction in house prices of up to 20% as settled in a recent court case and RICS.

5. The dramatic effect of such large structures on an area of outstanding beauty.

6. The noise submitted from the turbines.

7. Health issues such as vibroacoustic disease.

8. Wildlife will be affected including bat and birdlife.

9. TV reception will be affected.

10. The local road infrastructure will change to enable transportation of the turbines.

11. Public rights of way will be affected.

12. Each turbine will be in the region of 410 ft high (125 m) 100 ft short of Blackpool tower, these will be situated next to the M1 M18 junction causing a distraction to drivers therefore increasing the accident risk.

13. Each turbine will be set on a concrete base of approximately 1 acre affecting the natural water course and will require an access road suitable for a large goods vehicle.

14. Banks Developments are a private company who are in the business to make money.

Incorrectly sited wind farm developments affect people's lives forever.

Please support the action group and consider the points above. Public support is vital in our bid to stop this development.

Thank you for your support
